Xavier9ja:
he should prove by travelling to the US for his next vacation.
The sad part is that even American citizens have been thrown into jail for up to 30 or 40 years for crimes which it was obvious to the prosecution that they did not commit. The prosecution is concerned with convicting people, even when it is obvious that they didn't do it. Worse still, this practice is worst when you are BLACK. So I wouldn't suggest he takes such "vacation" to prove his innocence. Nigeria and USA have extradition treaty. Therefore, they can easily present credible evidence and begin extradition from Nigeria.

^^^^^^^^^^^ in as much as I support the proactive approach taken by the present administration to combating crime especially KIDNAPPERS, I am still not comfortable with this demolition approach to fighting kidnapping. Government should rather take possession of the property. What if tomorrow Government discovers the accused to be innocent or probably framed into this how do we start compensation.

Remember the Upper Class Hotel incidence under former Gov. Peter Obi, till now no competent Court has found the accused guilty of the crime, the said man is currently a free man after been released on Bail by SARS Awkuzu.

My take let justice prevail avoid jungle justice for as much as we want it otherwise.

Ndi banyi ekene mu noooo
Unless you can fully demonstrate to criminals that crime does not pay, you are wasting your time fighting crime.

The proceeds of crime are to build houses, own cars and live big. if these were not the case, i wonder who would ever do crime for any reason. Therefore, denying the criminals these proceeds of crime is the best deterrent. As a matter of fact, if what the criminals had before they ventured into crime is also taken away to make them worse off than they were before they decided to become criminals, then you'd change the mindset that crime really doesn't pay.

Therefore, the houses criminals own, even if they built it before venturing into crime should be demolished to the ground level and the cars confiscated. In this way, you will prove that becoming a criminal is the best way to become homeless and poor and not the vice versa.

Israelis used a similar strategy of bulldozing the homes of suicide bombers to discourage many from joining. Many parents begged their children not to become Hamas suicide bombers so as not to render them homeless and it worked.

PoliticsRe: HELP !! Yoruba Plot To KILL Ibaka Deep Sea Port by cjrane: 1:53pm On Apr 17, 2015
macjive01:
A high-wired plot to obstruct the actualisation of the Ibaka Deep Seaport project within the deep waters of Akwa Ibom State, by some highly placed persons working in tandem with some officials of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has been uncovered.

Daily Sun checks revealed that the plot is being hatched by some opposition (APC) governors and some highly placed Nigerians to obtain an ‘obnoxious letter’ from the NPA with a view to presenting the seaport project as not viable.

The plot, investigations revealed, was designed to ensure that the Ibaka Deep Seaport Initiative does not see the light of day, thereby paving way for development of new seaports in other parts of the country.

It was gathered that the conspiracy against Akwa Ibom State seeks to discredit the seaport project under a ‘non-viability cover’, despite the fact that the Federal Government had set up an implementation committee to facilitate preparatory works and captured the project in the 2014 budget, having been convinced that the port would boost the nation’s economy and that of the West African sub-region.

The Akwa Ibom State Government in collaboration with the NPA is planning to develop a Deep Sea Port within the Ibom Industrial Free Trade Zone to facilitate economic development of the South Eastern part of Nigeria and the Gulf of Guinea.

Checks by Daily Sun further revealed that in December 2012, the government had engaged international consultants to assist NPA in the execution of preliminary technical, bankability and feasibility studies which found the project viable and bankable with proven economic development capabilities within the region.

Sources revealed that the choice of Ibaka for the proposed seaport dated back to 1952 by the British government, and a feasibility study to that effect submitted to the British Crown even before the shallow and inland water ports at Calabar and Port Harcourt were established.

Maritime analysts posited that Ibaka is the most viable location for the seaport, going by the deep sea draught of 16m, which would need no dredging as well as the strategic proximity of the proposed port to the corridors of the main Gulf of Guinea and the commercial cities of Aba and Onitsha, noting its nearness to Exxon Mobil and other major oil concerns as well as the Sao Tome and Principe is a great advantage to the nation’s economic drive.’’

An investment expert advised those plotting the failure to look elsewhere, saying no right thinking government would allow such a huge economic opportunity to be sacrificed on the alter of blind politics against principles of justice and fairness particularly for a state that was the highest crude oil producer and biggest contributor to national wealth.

He said it would be counter-productive to the ongoing Transformation Agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan and a great disservice to both the South-South and West Africa’s hope for economic renaissance.

On the commitment of Akwa Ibom State Government to ensure that the project was a reality, officials of the government said the Akpabio administration had done all necessary preparatory works and that the state had made a huge financial commitment to its realisation, which included and acquisition of 14,400 hectares of land, appointment of transaction advisors as well as the setting up of an implementation committee to help drive the initiative.

State officials said the state governor’s readiness in supporting the Federal Government and other investors to actualise the dream was unshaken.

When the Asaba airport was proposed, Yorubas dominating the aviation ministry did the same thing to deny approval for that project. I remember when these same group of highly tribalistic group were rolling over themselves to prove that Asaba airport was not viable even though it was in far away Delta state, they felt national resources meant for education and bursaries was about to be squandered building Asaba international airport. No such "concern" was expressed about Gombe nor Dutse International airports being constructed at the same time.

Today, Asaba international airport is one of the busiest in the country! The Yoruba tribalists should cover their black faces in shame. Like Asaba airport, Ibaka project will still be completed. It isn't only in Yoruba land that every project must be cited or else propaganda against it as not viable would be started by yorubas

Nigeria will no longer treat the wanton killings of its citizens with levity, the House prompted by a motion of urgent matter of public importance moved by the chairman of the House Committee on Diaspora Matters, Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the House expressed sadness that the attacks has claimed many lives, ruined businesses and left many wounded.

"Nigeria frowns at the attacks and will no longer tolerate the killing of its nationals in South Africa. President Goodluck Jonathan must immediately convey this to President Zuma as a matter of urgency," the House resolved.

The lawmakers appealed to the federal government to apply the diplomatic principle of reciprocity in dealing with South Africa, adding that if South Africa continues to frustrate Nigeria businesses, Nigeria must also do the same to South Africa businesses in the country.
One thing I know about South Africa and their citizens is that they have no respect for people that threaten and take no action. Nigeria is one country that always issues empty threats and South Africans know that.

Nigerians were influenced by Shekau and Buhari to vote for APC out of fear. He's definitely the most influential guy in Nigeria. Kudos to him.

My fear is that Buhari cannot and should not trust those that see Nigeria as a future competitor for African influence. They have and will covertly continue working for Nigeria's collapse. It is simply in their future national interest to see a weak or better dismembered Nigeria.

Buhari can actually stop a war in the creeks if he opts to be a true nationalist and implement key decisions reached at the national conference or he can choose to be a typical northerner and assume he could suppress the people's desire. Time shall tell. But if he allows a war to break out in the creeks after we've seen how northerners used Boko haram to destabilize Jonathan, I will be impressed if he lasts 4 years without a coup to arrest the slide into a national disaster or major outbreak of civil war of independence among the ethnic nationalities of Nigeria.

well if ngige wants to win back the hearts of anambra people then he has to convince the incoming government to do some projects that would benefit the people immensely
Only GEJ would have been so clueless to site more mega projects in the north than his own region. Buhari will not bend his back to do any tangible project in Igboland. Especially considering the rabid anti- Igbo rhetorics of the characters surrounding him.

Clearly, if PDP strategize well and select a capable northerner in 2019 to give them a good chunk of northern votes, they will win by a big margin. Nothing has really changed. Playing into the Nigerian tribal alliances and doing a good homework on selecting a capable northerner in 2019 is the game changer. PDP lost because the contest was between a northerner and a minority southerner, and their candidate was the southern minority.

No matter what happens at the Federal level, as far as we are concerned, we must continue to secure good governance in our region through APGA.

On April 11th, our people must not look back in securing good accountable leadership in our region through APGA.

Who Cares about Senate President or deputy senate president?
What did Okadigbo,Enwerem, nnamani, Wagbara or Anyim achieve for the SE as so called "SENATE PRESIDENT" except line their own pockets and bank accounts?

Meanwhile, Rochas is calling Ndigbo "greedy" for not voting for party with Hausa candidate over a Niger Delta person, while he has failed to realize that the north nor the yoruba has never voted for any party with any Igbo candidate. At least Igbo have got support in the Niger Delta more than in the north or the SW. Must Igbo be the only ones always supporting Abiola,Obasanjo or Yar'Adua? We also want them to appreciate our solidarity in the past.

Meanwhile, APC will commit their worst blunder if they truly turn SE against them. Ndigbo generally didn't care about coming out enmass to vote GEJ because the SE really was neglected by his government. Yet, they could only muster 2 million votes over the PDP. If APC makes Ndigbo to come out and protest their ill treatment in 2019 when PDP will be presenting a northern candidate, they know they can never win under such condition.

Although i liked Rochas dream to modernize Owerri, his recent outburst makes me pray that he loses. He is just another bloody greedy politician looking for how to use the peoples votes to further his personal ambition.

PoliticsRe: Thank You Ndigbo For Rejecting APC And Their Missions by cjrane:
BuddahMonk:
I will like to use this medium to congratulate my Igbo people for giving APC similar treatment they gave to Islam some centuries ago. The quest to deep the koran in the Ocean is on course still because its been deep in the coast of Lagos SW Nigeria without much opposition but the march to the shores of Warri, Port Harcourt, Calabar and Oron is still very much alive having failed in presidency they are likely to use the likes of Rochas in Imo, Dakuku in Rivers and Oshiomole in Edo to complete the routing.

Igboland is not a conquered territory and its only in Igboland that Islam is non existing, they rejected the religion and all the goodies that they claim to preach, once again thanks for them for rejecting APC the political wing of Islam in Nigeria to perpetuate themselves into Igboland through electoral process when military might failed.

South West Nigeria was conquered by the Fulanis which automatically make them a Gambari territory by conquest so ready to assimilate and consume anything giving to them by force and under duress. Those that are dragging the South into slavery are predominantly Muslims of SW Nigeria and when you check their voting pattern it was glaring, Ekiti State have the least number of them and they voted against slavery, Lagos the economic capital of the country the vote was almost shared between the two dominant religion in the citystate, so it was glaring that the battle is more than political but of religious conquest.

When the South South went to the poll, with 6 States but they have no or little muslim population only in Auchi a town of less than 50000 people, the voting pattern in SS define how Nigeria is polarized along not just ethnic and tribal lines but on religious grounds.

When you check the voting pattern you discovered that
those that voted for PDP in North are those that are under series of attack by the buccaneers, barbaric and bloodthirsty Fulanis, so they decided to vote a protest vote because they are tired of being under perpetual servitude, they want to make serious statement, they are pulling out gradually from monolith North and everybody is seeing how things are moving now, they voted and owe nobody any apology.

Ngige have been rejected, Rochas should get ready to flee from Douglas House because we don't like it when some undesirable elements try to infiltrate our congregation some strange bedfellows just because of the mistake of a stvpid whiteman.

Rejecting APC and whatever they stand for is a clear indication that Islam making a serious foothold in Igboland will be next impossible even in Spanish styled inquisition.

Once Rochas is booted out of Douglas House we will wash the entire Igbo state with Olive Oil and Mustard seed for spiritual cleansing, the Mosque he built in government house will be demolished to give way for a Museum of Igbo Cultures.

Congrats once again for rejecting APC, they want to use the Othoman style to penetrate into igboland, they want to use some Afonjas in Igboland to penetrate like they did and conquered Oyo empire which is under APC now as a political party, Igboland have not fallen to any empire, dynasty or kingdom. When the whiteman came they met stiff opposition in present day Anioma called the Ekumeku War, it was fought for close to two decades before the whiteman can penetrate despite having modern and sophisticated weaponry.

When the whiteman came down to Southern Igboland they faced more dangerous war called the Aro War, it was fought with massive casualties on the British side, they didn't have it so easy getting into Igboland.

When they got to the Nri kingdom they were engaged in another round of war that was fought, they were fought at Udi...the list is endless untill the whiteman finally penetrated, it didn't end there because they were been pushed around by strong Igbowomen in Aba around 1929.

If it was these hard for the whiteman to penetrate Igboland, so is APC and her Islamic foot soldiers trying to penetrate Igboland like a knife running through a butter jar and expect no bottleneck, do they think they can penetrate Igboland by offering Igbo youths money to convert to Islam like Rochas is doing, do they think that offering Igbos juicy appointment like Senate president or Speaker will make more Igbo households automatically convert to Islamhuh?

Please APC and her sugar coated poison, Ndigbo have spoken and they owe nobody apology, they chose to die on their feet than to live on their knees, the people have spoken the land aint for the faint of heart.

God bless Igboland
God bless Biafrans
Actually, it was the APC blunt refusal to recognize Igbo with party offices that helped to estrange them from SE.

Unless APC corrects that, they will likely lose the next presidential election. I say this because, in spite of voter apathy in the SE and the massively falsified results from Kano, Kaduna and Katsina, Buhari could only beat GEJ with only 2 million votes. APC will be silly not to close this lapse before the next election. Especially as PDP will definitely choose a Presidential candidate from the north too in the next presidential election. The PDP should also work hard to consolidate their grip in SE, SS and NC.

But in Nigeria, primitive tribal hatred often over shadow common sense. So I would expect the APC to still figure they can win again without Igbo support, even if the PDP presidential candidate were a northerner.

In addition to getting private foreign companies to set up power plants in Nigeria, Buhari should carefully look into the companies running the Discos and make sure they have technical partners abroad capable if delivering. As soon as Zik discovered the word was only honored when the southerner in question was Yoruba, he quickly retraced his steps and built his formidable alliances with northern politicians. That is the political path the SE and SS must pursue.

There is no reason why Nigeria should continue being a united country when we now place ethnic interests over competence and performance. I don't expect any democracy dividend from a buhari presidency for the masses because Buhari didn't even present a manifesto. All he did was sell his ethnicity to his north while the yorubas did for their region.
Jonathan has done more for the north than any president from the north and yet tribalism defeated him. I want to ask all igbos to boycott this government and prepare for the next election with awareness and tribalism. Igbos should make sure that they are not shortchanged in the upcoming census. There is no reason why katsina should have more population than Anambra.

Enough said!
The real winners in this chapter of Nigerian politics is the north. From now until Jesus returns, only a northern candidate can win elections in north and south. Let us watch and see where the do me , I do you will get the south will land the south.
