carnegiefan:You are absolutely right about International airport access to thriving business. Our people are really funny. We understand all these advantages of having a functional airport, we know the other parts of Nigeria had refused to have the airport in Igboland functional to deny us the advantages. Yet we refuse to patronize our own . We have the Enugu International airport almost idle, yet most of them prefer going to use the Lagos Intl. for the same trips to Dubai and China. If you add the cost of local flight from Asaba to Lagos to board the international flight, it is considerable. While they could easily board the same flight at Enugu and fly out directly at a lower cost. Now tell me if that makes sense? |
There is an antispambot mod always banning you for posting a picture here. Why are they doing this to the Enugu thread? Why? |
ChimaAgbalajob:More importantly , Mwanza mall is 60,000sqm at that price, while Onitsha mall is 15,000sqm. A fraction of the size. |
Freeglobe, IDC is not mushroom company. I also had a somilar impression about them in the past. They may be smaller than the companies you mentioned but they have proven themselves to be capable of delivering high quality jobs. They have continued to prove that they are capable of quality projects in the Awka bridges and the upper Iweka express roads. The problem with Anambra in the past was that our leaders did not insist on high quality finishing. For instance, they will build roads and gutters by the side, but the gutters edges are much higher than the level of the road surface, so when it rains, the gutter is dry while the road is flooded. Our leaders don't insist on road marking nor sweeping of our roads. So sand takes over all our roads 2 days after commissioning. Nowadays I don't see that type of crappy construction and poor finishing in Anambra. Although the ugly practice is still there. In building structures, our governors also expose their poor taste. Except for Abuja and Lagos, it appears our governors are afraid on insisting in aesthetically pleasing designs. I saw a mall and hotel constructed in a small town of Mwanza in Tanzania. The cost of their mall is less than the Onitsha mall and hotel, yet you need to see the architectural design of the buildings. |
Jealous Op, Did she ever tell you she was starving? After all, she has never been in government to accuse her of stealing the money. She runs her own legit business and can buy whatever she wants with her money. Banza! |
Why are you jealous? If your papa or husband is the President of Nigeria, N10 million naira is dog shyt change. |
BuddahMonk:Boy, how I love to read your highly cerebral write ups. You always hit the nail on the head. Igbo billionaires are close to being useless. When they choose anything to work on, it is not about the need of their state or people. Wonder why they can't emulate Dangote? |
Amaechi belongs to the dustbin of history. |
It could be a terrorist Boko haram attack. Nobody can be sure it wasn't them. |
GEJ trusted a non-Ijaw guy from Kogi state with his life. Buhari will not trust any non-Hausa....and i like Buhari for that. |
BuddahMonk:You are 100% correct! The worst part is that Chino isn't in Anambra! Then he continues to post 3-5 years old internt pictures all the time. When people like Frank or Customized that have proven they are on the ground by posting recent pictures that cannot be found anywhere on the internet, he finds a way to brew some crappy e-war out of other peoples pictures. A classical case of ANTI-SOCIAL PERSONALITY DISORDER. If you google it, you will see all the characteristics are displayed by Chino. |
Nigerians have a serious mental problem. I once saw a yoruba NYSC youth corper guy in national hospital Igbobi with fracture of both arms and legs. When i heard he had sustained his injury on Onitsha Owerri road when it was so bad, i felt so bad. My sympathy melted away when he and someone in his group said the road won't be killing Igbos, it is yorubas passing through that it will kill. That is exactly the mentality! If our leaders fail to build roads in Ibadan or Aba as they should, Nigerians from the opposite section of the country rejoice. As if fate may never make them or their relatives to become victims of bad governance they are applauding, simply because they believe it is in their "Enemy's" part of the country. Until we begin to see that failure to build factories earmarked for Aba or Benin city or Oshogbo or Markurdi or Minna may have somehow contributed to your own unemployment situation, that is when we can begin to reason as normal people. As for now, i expect people to call me an eedioot and continue rejoicing and celebrating the signs of bad governance in Nigeria, so long as it is not in their own village . |
Er0ticAngela:I think Roaches is better positioned to declare Biafra. Having campaigned for APC and taken the impossible to momentarily declare for Presidency, just to make sure SE votes does not skew the primaries in favor of Atiku. Only for him to be refused common SGF. Roaches should declare Biafra if i were in his shoes. ![]() |
na wao for Igbos sef. That is why i am going about my normal duties today. No any Biafra thing for me today. We have to change our mentality towards other parts of Igboland outside our villages before we agitate that they should be included in same country. Just like Yoruba and hausa have foul attitude towards other Nigerians, but they want those people to remain in one country with them! |
A little yoruba boy waiting for Jamb, but feels he is soooo smart to deceive people by posting under fake names on NL |
MugabeRobert:I think Amaechi wife is ugly. PERIOD! No wonder Amaechi plaits other women's hair |
asha80:N4 billion naira is too much for just renovations of already existing 4-5 storey structure. Infact, N4 billion will build two of that structure again. However, if they want to transform and furnish the existing hotel into a true 5 star, it may require up to that amount to do it well. |
Indian prostitutes 'abuna' that took Abacha from us. |
IdiAmin1: ![]() If Buhari cannot stand for the interest of Nigeria at 72, then we are really in trouble. Abi na visa he wants to go do menial jobs in America at this age? What can they offer him to protect their interest over Nigerian interest? |
Congratulations my dear Governor! May God give you the wisdom to pilot the affairs if our dear state to the greatest height. |
GREAT! |
GEJ has sacrificed personal ambition for peace in Nigeria. If I were in his shoes, I would have vehemently rejected the inflated Kano, Kaduna, Kstsina and Jigawa votes. We all know they were fictitious, but he accepted it for the sake of peace. I doff my hat for him, but I disagree with his conceding to such blatant fraud. |
Very ungentlemanly and unsportsmanlike of Amaechi. GEJ has continued to show personal example of what politics should be. Campaign hard and when the results are out, respect the people's wish and congratulate the winner. Politics of bitterness is for the immature and primitive mind |
Wow! So man can do man in Buhari government? Our women will soon complain that not enough men want to service them ![]() |
Ghana has managed to dodge many crisis unlike Nigeria. Ghana always wished they could surpass Nigeria, but by sheer size, Nigeria is an elephant comparing to a mouse called Ghana . Unfortunately Ghana is too small for Nigeria. Even the economy of the nort east region of Nigeria is bigger than Ghana's economy. Lagos state alone is bigger than Ghana's economy and entire population. Sometimes I wonder why Ghanaians don't take Nigeria's size into consideration. If Ghana builds one hotel or flyover only in Accra they start shouting. But Nigeria is building the same type of hotel in multiple locations as Uyo, Lagos, Abuja, Kano, Anambra, Enugu, Dutse ,Ogun, Delta,Calabar etc. so comparing Ghana to Nigeria is often a joke. |
Did they really ban okada or perhaps partially banned then along selected roads or was it just another fluke? Why isn't the news discussed here? |
Nigeria is cursed by bad leadership and tribalistic followers that encourage the bad leaders. |
Whizzcute:Long over due! Great news if it is true. I give kudos to new Anambra govt that has finally started taking the security and safety of her citizens seriously |
AnambraDota:I am pissing on myself laughing here. I know an Igbo family in Lagos that their children cannot speak a sentence of grammatically correct English, yet they are proud that their children can only speak Yoruba but not Igbo! so what is the difference between their children and a Yoruba child born in rural Ikare Ekiti that can only speak Yoruba language? He is speaking Hausa like Hausa is something to be proud of. If speaking that language were useful, he would have stayed in Sokoto and benefitted from knowlesge of the language as one would go to London to live and benefit from knowledge of English. Like hausa is a language that has achieved anything in the world except cheating in Nigeria and thus creating tension amongst the people of this unfortunate country. In his mind speaking hausa equates to speaking Spanish, Japanese or even Swahili. Hehehe...... Some of our Igbo bros sef! |
Sunnybobo3:Unfortunately some kids don't know aluminum does not rust. Every piece of metal in their mind is iron. |
Amaechi is already scared of his evil looting of Rivers state catching up with him? If he has nothing to fear, he should tell Wuke to go ahead with the probe. After I saw the dirty state of PH and the coastal communities jetties, while Amsechi presided over the period of biggest revenue boom, I knew Amaechi should answer basic questions about what happened to Rivers state funds. |
