How many times will I tell you people, get your own apartment and stop squatting with people even if he's a family member. For the first few weeks/months, they'll be kind and nice but It's only a matter of time before they start getting tired of you and thinking of ways to send you parking.

During one of the fuel shortages, I was begging one to allow me enter into a filling station to buy with a keg into my car that already stopped on the way. I needed to go and check my baby who was on admission in a hospital. I had earlier on went home to get hot water and some other stuff for her and my wife. Because I was under intense pressure of all I was passing through, I returned the slap and a fight broke out at the filling station. When I was dying, I started speaking and begging them in Hausa language before they allowed me. They made me do frog jumps from where we were to the exit of the station and as I was going, they both were kicking me with their boots. It was a humiliating and an unforgettable experience for me as eventually lost my daughter. Since then, my hatred for Nigeria army increased and God forbid that I will have a thing to do with any of them. Thank God I'm not even in Nigeria again so nothing will make our paths cross

No, it isn't a camping gas. It is a local gas oven.
The oven switch is faulty and I 'thought' I found a way to tweak it before getting a replacement –a huge risk!

I didn't realise it was switched on so I kept trying to 'switch it on' and by the time I powered it with a lighter, the gas had circulated more than it should, next I heard was 'boom' and the whole object around the oven got affected. My hands hurt for about two days as though I dipped them in a freshly blended pepper mix.

Thankfully, I use a gas lighter and I didn't peep the holes(another bad habit I stopped afterwards) else, it would have been my face with the effect.

Recounting the ordeal is such a scare.

Y'all should be very careful with anything gas. It can be deadly if handled carelessly.

@bolded I remember when the top part(the part that connects the cylinder to the gas stove) of the gas cylinder in my house spoilt and my mum was dragging her feet to change it. All my pleas to her to replace it were met with an 'okay' at first, then nothing afterwards.

She also, had found a way to tweak it and I think money was tight around that time, but it seemed like I was the only one who realized the danger that gas posed. Maybe because I was the one doing the cooking, and most likely would have been the first victim in case of an explosion.

I think she only realised how serious it was when I told her, my dad and my siblings that if the gas were to explode when I was using it, that they should let me die; because I didn't think I could handle it if my face was forever scarred. That statement must have vividly painted a picture of what could happen in her mind. That was when she fixed it.

I also used to put my face to the holes when lighting the cooker but I've stopped since I realised how dangerous that was.
