Minister of External Affairs in 1984... Now Chief of Staff in 2020... This is 36 good years and his generation is still in power. Who did this to Nigeria?
Of course I understand we all have more than three criteria in choosing our potential life partner, but for the purpose of this thread, just your three topmost criteria.
For those who are married, what were the three topmost criteria that made you marry your spouse.
For me my 3 criteria are:
1. Must have a Great heart
2. Must be intelligent (very neccessary)
3.Must be himself and have few good friends.
So you just registered this account 5 days ago to get suitors?

I would have recommended you for my friend, but ...
I don't know what happened here. But some Nigerians can be stubborn and arrogant. When this lockdown was announced in PH, I read some guys saying this is not for them, that police can't do shit as the police even fear them.
Fact is people should please obey laws. And do not confront an armed officer.
BucciJP: All these ones are cheap talks, Can they enforce it? NO Can the citizens afford it? NO Can the security men respect themselves? NOT IN THE EAST Are the citizens convinced that there is coronavirus out there? NO WHY? government bn no get truth for mouth.
The government may not need to enforce this if the citizens can obey laws. This type of regulation is for the citizens to enforce themselves. You should reject entering a taxi to violate the rule (being the 5th person in the taxi) Passengers should reject any driver that wants to have more than the recommended passengers. The governor or commissioner dishing out this regulation will not use these taxis, so it is for the betterment of the common man.
NextD18: [s]Public giveaway is nothing but scam to reasonable people who understands the concept of generosity and helping.
There's always a hidden motive behind anyone who does giveaway publicly. Quote me anywhere.
It's either for clout, to buy love, to buy loyalty, to gain favors from some persons within or a business strategy.
Behind everyone doing giveaway, there's this a friend on his/her contact list who's desperately in need of help. There's this family member, either from the mother's side or father's side who's in need and perishing looking for help.
But NO! They'll not help those needy family members, but will prefer to come to the public, chase clout with the less privileged and snap pictures or go to social media, chase clout, buy fake love to look generous.
Whatever is it, this woman experienced. I don't care, because if everyone should focus on their family members, maternal cousins and paternal siblings, there won't be needy people in the public for these clout chasers to use.
People should say no to fake public accolades from strangers who truly doesn't give a fvck about their existence and and focus on people in their family tree and people around them. They'll appreciate the more[/s].
If they want to give or help people willingly, it is their choice. If they want to record it, their choice. If you don't want to give, it is your choice. Do not envy other people.
Abagworo: Most of these collapse started in recent years probably a decade and half ago but prior to that 4 storey buildings were erected in their thousands in Aba and Onitsha with no news of collapse recorded. Most Nigerians believe the quality of cement is playing a major role in the recent collapses
Yeah, those places have solid structures still standing! You seem to blame the cement here, which could possibly be one of the reasons, but you neglected the human factor. Back then people stones were cheaper and people used higher concrete mixtures. These days some of the builders and/or clients try to cut costs leading to such a disaster as this. Some will rather than encourage a mixture of 8/10 for 1 bag of cement as was then, now go for 10/12, or even higher just to have quantity but not quality. Of course, it can and had worked in buildings including storey buildings but does not warrant the risk especially in high-rise buildings. I weep for the resources that just went down the drain.
You shouldn't have replied to that person. The statement used there describing the medical doctors as arrogant etc reveals his/her hatred for the doctors. I would have asked if he is a healthcare worker? But no need.
The fact remains that all healthcare workers working at this trying times, irrespective of the location, deserve some accolades. When adequate protective measures are not in place, please let the healthcare workers think of their lives and their loved ones first. If the failed government have refused to equip the healthcare facilities well, let all citizens rise and challenge it. It is not for healthcare workers only to fight for.
Who knows the condition of Abia State presently. From past history, I doubt a female commissioner of police can handle the kind of pressure in that state.
Anyway, I wish her good luck in her new appointment.
GboyegaD: Why would a private hospital risk the life of their staff and loved ones? Thought the NMA decision was that no private hospital should treat COVID19 cases.
But how will you know if it is COVID19 when testing isn't readily available in the State? Moreover, patients can come with symptoms similar to regular diseases that is not covid19. Unless all private hospitals are not to treat anyone with cough and fever. This invariably means that the government hospitals should be ready and have the capacity to handle all sick patients.
EmekaMD: Brutai and his men have been fighting Bokoharam for many years without any traceable improvements.
Chad soldiers pushed one major offensive and Bokoharam got dismantled. Then Brutai immediately relocated to NE. And today Shekarau wants to surrender, something that wasn't foreseeable until now.
My verdict is..
1. Chadian army has disbanded and weakened Bokoharam, and so Shekarau is at the verge of being captured. And his capture would exposed many grey areas including the sponsors to Bokoharam. So Brutai quickly goes in to do the capturing himself and make sure all that needed to be concealed are not exposed .
2. Another option is they'd have Shekarau turn himself in and be given first class treatment and eventually released as a repentant. We've seen lots of these already.
3. Worst case scenario he'd pretend Shekarau wants to surrender, and orders his soldiers to cease fire for negotiations. This would offer Shekarau more breathing space to recuperate and reorganize again. After all Bokoharam is a business venture Brutai and the elite north would never want to lose.
If you think I'm being pessimistic wait till time proves me wrong
You forgot to add the news of surrendering is coinciding with the death of a top Bornu state politician and COS to the president.
magicminister: It’s high time we push for a law that makes it impossible for former head of states to become civilian president. Though mediocre, The biggest strides we made in our democracy were during the Jonathan/Yaardua era.
We should not keep recycling the old people with ideas that never worked!
Buhari will be the last. Which other former head of state can contest an election presently?
Metrix147: A middle-aged man identified as Friday was on Friday night shot dead by a trigger happy policeman in Ebem, Ohafia local government area of Abia state, ABN TV reports.
Since the commencement of the lockdown in Abia, this is the third time a security agent is killing innocent citizens in the state.
Our correspondent gathered that argument had ensued between the duo while the late Friday was offloading his goods in his shop located at Eni Njoku road, Ebem ohafia.
The policeman was said to have immediately shot the victim, leaving him on the pull of his blood.
Indeed, there should State of emergency declared on the Nigerian healthcare sector.
Just checking the distance from Ebem Ohafia to Umuahia for treatment is more than enough to complicate issues that will result to death. Maybe, the young man would have been alive of there's a functional well equipped hospital within Ohafia/Bende axis.
9jaRealist: First, nobody is using your resources... They were brought in by the private Chinese company CCECC.
Furthermore, what “will of the people” abegi? The NMA, whose members went on strike during this Covid crisis? >
One way or another, Nigerian resources will be involved. How will a private company fly foreign people in a country that says it has closed all its boarders without the resources of the country? It is left for you to determine which of the resources are involved.
If the doctors are on strike, does that rule out their decisions on issues pertaining health?
Do you know it is illegal to practice in any country without a recognizable medical license or approval by the appropriate medical body?
The NMA may be on strike, but was the governing body (Medical Council) also on strike?
MelesZenawi: Firstly punch is not a newspaper but a propaganda machine full of lies.
As reported by Vanguard
Coronavirus: Fresh facts emerge on Anambra’s index case
FRESH facts have emerged that the COVID-19 index case discovered in Anambra State on Friday actually visited the two major cities of Awka and Onitsha before traveling to his home town, Adazi in Anaocha local government area and was admitted at St Joseph’s Hospital in the town.
“The case was first treated as a mild malaria unknowingly at Regina-Caeli Hospital, Awka. He left and later traveled to Onitsha, before returning to Adazi-Nnukwu hospital where it was finally suspected to be Covic-19, after exhibiting the symptoms. “Result came in and it was positive,” Sunday Vanguard was told yesterday.
Our source could not confirm if the index case visited any hospital in Onitsha, or other places he visited in the city before returning to Adazi.
Secondly Nigeria Police men are bunch of disgrace to security system. Entrust your life to them and die early. Collecting bribe has made them inefficient in everything.
Thirdly, If truly the index case has disappeared. Security should shoot him at sight anywhere he is seen. I hate people exhibiting wicked attitudes. Are you running to spread it to people instead of moving in to be handled effectively and save other lives.
DominusPrime: These are not signs specific of suicidal ideation. You cant see a person doing these and the next thing you think is that the person is suicidal. Yes some are very obvious but not with subtle signs like these. And they make very great effort to conceal their plans.
I wasn't referring to them as suicidal signs, rather psychological or depressive symptoms which close ones can see, and help out whichever way.
DominusPrime: You obviously haven't seen depressed people who go around like everything is perfect. Who better to notice any sign than their family and loved ones? Yet they often say they never knew it could happen. But you are right. Mental health is still a joke here and a lot of stigma is attached to it.
Those are signs. It must not be the individual that will recognize it. Simple things as not eating, or eating too much, more than usual, or not sleeping, can reveal some signs. Closed ones can encourage you to speak up or they can worsen it by mockery. Therefore, a lot of sensitisation needs to be done in regards to mental health.
DominusPrime: Sometimes suicide is the end stage of a mental problem. Suicidal people should seek help. Unfortunately most never give obvious signs.
They do give signs. The fact is that mental health in Nigeria is not been taken seriously. And there is a type of stigma attached to it. However, people should endeavour to visit psychologists when they feel things aren't normal in their lives. If you can't find one, then visit your doctor. A visit to a hospital mustn't be due to fever or physical injuries, psychological help can also be sourced from there.
