It is true that no name has been released, but that doesn't mean it's not possible. However, notable personalities including UK health minister, footballers and Hollywood actor, have publicly declared their status for the coronavirus. The Italian can as well do same, coronavirus is not a death sentence! |

Gracealone: Good riddance!
I travelled by Turkish Airlines to Amsterdam for a conference in 2015. We were stuck for 19 hours in the return journey at Istanbul airport without any arrangement for us by the airline, even as little as a bottle of water, nothing!
These Turkish guys do not have Nigerians in appreciable esteem. And imagine the way they tortured and detained Nigerian students during their phantom coup. Maybe it's your first time, is it? This is because Turkish Airlines lodge their passengers that have long layover as it is in your situation. |

Sanusi Lamido may be suffering from the sins of the past but I think it's untoward of the president to keep a sealed lip at this very crucial time. How are the mighty fallen. May bad portion of life never be ours in Jesus name. Unfortunately, the president can only read from already-written scripts. I guess his aides are working on that. |

That is, pay more by cash, and less by card (POS). This singular act will see the public demanding for POS anytime they want to pay. |

Some people may see this as being too harsh from the side of management, however, employees should abide by the rules and regulations of their places of work. When one goes contrary to that, then it is a crime. If there are punishment assigned to such crimes, be willing to serve it. Although in this case, the lawyers would have settled the issue amicably without heading to court. Or was the employee stubborn? There are different things that need to be understood in this case. Let Nigerians reorientate their minds. |

oz4real83: The total is still not up to the proposed loan Out of over $22b, this govt intends spending $500m on education. That shows the value they placed on education. Also check the intended spending on health, less than $100m. They are spending less on health and education because they still want a reason they and their families will continue going abroad. The current president may not even know the contents. Can you imagine Buhari presenting all these to the National Assembly on a Live broadcast, even if he doesn't need to go into details? |

This may not be necessary. Can they do the same to Italians? How about if other countries treat all Germans same way? I think the proper thing to do is to test all of them if they are truly scared. I feel for those Japanese! And I hope they understand, because with the current outbreak, every country would like to protect her citizens. |

We don't want to donate anything yet we want the same service or commodity to be available. We sure love miracles. The problem may even not be the pay but the availability of blood when urgently needed, especially if it is a rarer type of blood group. I believe It's not the pregnant women that donate these blood. Lagosians should willingly be donating blood in the banks for unforseen circumstances. |

It seems this corrupt practices are more in the civil service than politics. How can one clinge on a seat after his due time for retirement. This robs whosoever that should replace him. In a saner environment, retirement is a thing to look forward to. It is celebrated!
If this is true, he should be sacked immediately, and made to refund all the salaries he has collected 'illegally', pension would be paid instead. |

I shift the blame to the president though for being too intellectually incompetent for not coming up with a better scheme. Is there any scheme that has greatly impacted on Nigerians.
Well it's easy to criticise. But if people like us are not legitimately sought after and given an opportunity to add value and not one stupid hyper subliminal conscious activity over some fantasy. If you knew what some of these government officials indulge in and chase after, you will weep. Some of them are gone mentally and douse themselves in drug usage. And have some grand delusions about money that will blow your mind. Was this used as a 2019 election campaign strategy? |
Christianity Etc › Re: Fears Pope May Have Been Infected By Coronavirus After Kissing & Blessing People by Cmanforall: 5:22am On Mar 03, 2020 |
Ruhamah2: Pope Francis has cancelled a planned Mass in Rome with other clergy after suffering a 'slight illness'. There was no word from the Vatican about the nature of his illness, but the pope was seen coughing and blowing his nose during the Ash Wednesday Mass. The previous day he had kissed heads and touched faces as he met with crowds in St Peter's Square, saying he had solidarity with those suffering from coronavirus. Italy is currently in the grips of a coronavirus outbreak that has seen towns in the north placed on lockdown and travellers from the region spread the infection to previously unaffected areas of Europe.
The capital, Rome, had three cases, but all three infected patients were cured, officials said. Coronavirus is believed to have originated in a market selling wildlife in the Chinese city of Wuhan late last year. It causes respiratory symptoms similar to a cold or flu and like other respiratory infections, it spreads between people in droplets from coughs and sneezes.

Question: If the SC sentences a man to death, and evidence emergences that the man was not guilty afterall(say from a DNA test of the crime scene) and the new evidence is brought before the SC for reconsideration. Are you saying tbe SC will jettison the case and allow an innnocent person to die just cos "Supreme is not final before it is perfect, it is perfect cos it is final"??
By the way, where did you get that quote from. That was not the exact words of Justice Oputa, lolz
Clowns everywhere How will his/her lawyers not provide such evidence before the case reaches supreme court? The levels the case passes before reaching the SC give room for these gaps to be filled. |

It will be interesting to see a sitting governor organize a free and fair election for the LGAs. I am impressed to see this governor campaigning for his party. Somehow, it shows he wants the election to be open, unlike what is obtainable in some states, whereby LGA chairmanship is seen more or less as a political appointment for the sitting governor. |

Litmus: Which is worst, asking people without ID for 1 thousand niara in bribe or letting people without ID to go free, especially as this is what would happen since there will be no facilities to arrest and detain the many without ID in addition to the time consuming act of doing so?
Surly demanding 1000niara bribe at a time is the lesser evil. The bribe could be a sort of fine. Instituting ID system is crucial for Nigeria and a way must be found to encourage and then enforce the mass take up of it in the failure of encouragements You've got a point somehow! I would agree to fine people without any form of identification, be it National ID card, driver's license, voter's card or international passport. The fine if paid should be documented, and if possible proof of payment issued. If an individual later within 2weeks provide any form of identification, he would get 70% of the fine back. That way the security personnels especially in that hot region will know when foreigners are invading the country. The government on their part should also ensure a hitch-free process for obtaining a National ID. |
