Culture › Pls Give Yoruba And Recognized English Known Names For Leaves And Herbs Here by Cmeo(op): 11:43pm On Apr 29, 2011
I am using this medium to appeal to all NL to give the Yoruba names of all leaves and herbs you know of, as this could help and ease the process of natural health and healing as some of us were able to search for healthy leaves and herbs but didn't know their local names.

Thank you all.
Business › Re: CBN Imposes Limits, Penalty On Cash Transactions, Again! by Cmeo(m): 5:50pm On Apr 29, 2011
I want people to see this as a good development for our banking industry. The project will be implement in 2012. However, before this time, I am sure the CBN would have made a proper arrangement for payment of bills with your debit card. With this, you wont need to go around with cash but through e-payment (i.e. you can pay and recieve for cement, petrol, shopping, etc by swapping your debit card on a small machine). This will reduce the incidence of robbery, too much cash transaction but increase e-payment channels fraud. It can be sustained if well planned. Sanusi, this is a welcome development, You have my total support provided it is well sustained.

Believe me this is kind of development (via planning) that we need in Nigeria not the fire brigade development which cannot sustained overtime.
Politics › Re: Non-stop Power Supply In Kwara State- Is It True? by Cmeo(m): 5:42pm On Apr 26, 2011
How would you believe this happening in Nigeria. ASO ROCK the seat of the Nigeria Administration itself can not boast of Non-stop Power Supply with generator, now tell me how do you expect non-stop power supply in Kwara State?

I live in Ilorin, the state captial of Kwara and this is NEVER REAL.
Politics › Re: Jonathan Has Shown He Can Be Trusted! So He Still Gets My Vote by Cmeo(m): 7:28pm On Apr 10, 2011
We forget easily that it was the influence of USA on Jonathan that made him to change Prof. Iwu, if not Iwu might still be chairman of INEC. However, it is even too early to say Jega conducted a good election, we easily forget that there are more to elections than just going to poll, vote and believe the election has gone well. Would Jega and INEC as a whole be able to defend all of their actions at tribunal and thereafter? We didn't know Iwu conducted a very bad election until court nullifies some elections and evidences show Iwu and the INEC were out to defend the ruling party. In my own option, I believe its too early to credit or rubbish Jega and INEC, so also Jonathan.

Trust is an answer of time.

From Kwara Central, Ilorin

There were unconfirmed reports yesterday that the ACN wins the kwara Central senatorial district, however another unconfirmed news this morning says PDP wins all the three senatorial districts. I suspect PDP has rigged their way. Anyway, lets wait till the official result is announced. But I witnessed some voting counts in which people voted ACN most.

Politics › April 9 Presidential Election: Call To All Nigerian In Diaspora by Cmeo(op): 6:56am On Apr 01, 2011
I am using this medium to call on our brothers and sisters in overseas (especially, those who won't be be around to cast their vote) to please call their parents, uncle, aunties, brothers and sisters back home in Nigeria and sensitize them on the need to vote for Buhari and Bakare on the platform of CPC. I figure out some of Change advocate on Nairaland are diaspora who might not have the chance to vote because of their present location.

Take time to talk to them, tell them the change you want to see in Nigeria and those who are up to the task to effect the change. I pray we shall all live long to see positive changes in Nigeria.

Please Act Now.

Politics › Re: Nothing Is Wrong With The Nigerian Education System - Buhari by Cmeo(m): 6:08pm On Mar 19, 2011
passyjango:
You got it wrong; corruption is a by-product of a society that has gotten its values wrong. Like I said before the problem is not in the systems we have. Although they are not perfect (and non is) they can still get the job done given a better society. Take our education system to America or Japan and it will still run better than it does here. We need to clean up the society. Our problem is insincerity; we pay lip service to our development. We claim we want change but on Election Day we vote on sentiments: North or South, Not born rich or born rich, Christians or Muslims.

How can you say a system is bad when you have not implemented it sincerely and have consistently starved it of funds?

Here is a simple analogy, assuming your TV could not turn on during a low voltage situation. Do you then assume that the system (the TV) is bad and buy a new one? Even if you buy a new TV, at very low voltage the new system (new TV) will still not work, leading to waste of time and money. To conclude that your TV is bad, you have to first provide it with adequate power via your generator or connect it through a powerful AVR. Until the TV is supplied with rated voltage and it still does not turn on, only then will it be reasonable to conclude that the system (the TV) is bad.

We cannot assume that our Education system is wrong until we have fully implemented it sincerely and wholeheartedly. Only then can we objectively analyse the problems of the system.
I don't think there is any better way to analyse it. I remember i was thought the education system was 6-3-3-4 and I strongly believe nothing is wrong the system though alot is wrong with educational sector which we are all responsible for.

Politics › Re: Mock Presidential Poll: Who Will You Vote For? by Cmeo(m): 3:06am On Mar 17, 2011
If the 12 years of PDP rule in Nigeria is what is called Democracy, Nigerians are tired of democracy.
If 11 months of Jonathan (no change) rule is what is called Goodluck for Nigeria, then Nigerians don't need goodluck again but Action

BUHARI HAS THE ACTION THAT NIGERIA NEEDS FOR CHANGE. VOTE BUHARI/ BAKARE
Politics › Re: Mock Presidential Poll: Who Will You Vote For? by Cmeo(m): 5:10pm On Mar 15, 2011
YES , I WILL VOTE BUHARI

Buhari is the only presidential candidate that doesn't believe in acquiring too much asset/wealth. He owns only one home which is in his home town Kastina. He has no home in Abuja or elsewhere. Other (most especially the PDP) don't want him there because they know he is discipled and wouldn't tolerate their lies, corruption and illegal cartel. Studying his take over speech of 1983, I discovered he understands Nigeria's problem than all the presidential contestant Nigeria has ever had. He is objective and the only presidential candidate that has no Godfather or sponsors. His 20 months of rule brought a significant change to Nigeria in 1983. His government was toppled because he policies were effecting changes the corrupt Nigerian like IBB didn't want.

We need to understand that the best president that USA ever had (Abraham Lincoln) was able to do much for america because he contested for elective post various time and failed. These failed times helped him to understand the mistakes in various policies and helped him to shape america to be a country we all looked up to today.

To conclude, Buhari has done so much in all the public offices he has held including PTF. However, don't let us be used as an instrument of segregation in this nation, the simplest tools used for this segregation is Ethnicity and Religion. They use ethnicity first and when they see its not working, they opt for religion differences. We people fall for this trick so soon because they tell us he is that, he is this, he has done this, he done that concerning so so faith, but they fail to tell us these differences when they are using it to their own benefits.

NIGERIAN WE MUST HAVE IT RIGHT THIS TIME , though other could be good but BUHARI IS THE RIGHT AND BEST CANDIDATE FOR THE POST NIGERIA PRESIDENT

Travel › What Oyinbo Man Did To Me At Jfk Airport New York by Cmeo(op): 8:41am On Nov 29, 2010
I am in USA for a self sponsored short course of about 3 weeks. Of course, I am a first time traveler out of Nigeria. Although, my final destination was Washington DC but I had to go to New York because its too cost to fly directly to Washington DC.

However at terminal one of the airport as I exit the airport, a white man came to me and said Taxi. I said yes but I need a yellow taxi (because someone told me at the airport that they are cheaper). He said no problem but on getting to his cab, it wasnt a yellow cab. I told him I want to get a train going to Washington DC and I want a yellow cab. He said its same cab and same price of $45. I told him I want something cheaper. He sweared I cant get anything cheaper than that.

He drove and drove to Penn NY write something on a paper almost every 25 Seconds. I gave him $50 hoping to give me $5 change. But he said my bill was $249. I gave him 4 pcs of $50 but I dont know how he managed to change 3 pcs to $20. I couldnt argue becos it was dark, late and I am very new to this US transportation system because its my first time of traveling out of Nigeria. I remember he covered his plate # as I was dropping off. I didnt believe nor have it mind sure thing could be done by a white (suspected American) man . I later learnt he did tricks on me as I was short of about $329. He charged so much, took $150 from me for $60 (took a total of $329) out of the total $700 I had on me. He scammed me and I am very short of fund now as I have just $100 on me on my first day of arrival after paying for a night at a hotel in Washington DC (out of 3 weeks I am going to spend).

I never believed this could happen to me in United States but now I am fraustrated and have learnt never to trust anyone on earth.
