bigfido: Do you know the irony about life? the good boy will wake up when he is of age to go look for his father. I don't know why men do that. I had a friend in similar situation. Mother told him all the terrible things his father did to her and him. My guy still went to look for his father and took his name. Sigh Strong point. There was also one Swiss guy who traveled all the way to Nigeria looking for a Nigerian father who couldn't give two shits about his son from a marriage of convenience. Probably a human thing though, not entirely limited to men, to just feel incomplete when one half is missing. Curiosity about the father/mother can also trigger a feeling of longing. |

My AOR is 23rd of August. It takes a while before you get the formal mail notifying you that the docs have been added to your file. |

House pls help clarify cos i do not intend to attached it. Just to be clear, IRCC says to add paystubs. One person who did not add had to write a letter of explanation for this https://www.nairaland.com/2624318/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/259#53421354But some people have not added and still got their PPR. geebaby10: Happy holidays.
Please I need small clarification/confirmation.
I raised a CSE to include scanned copies of my ECA and IELTS result. I just got an e-mail response saying that the documents have been received and sent to the responsible office. Just to confirm, is that an okay response? Is there any need to do anything further? Come on, Geeworldwide! It's as okay and right as Gru's minions singing kumbayah. We all told you that's what's gonna happen. That your you'll be informed when your docs are received and your processing will proceed. |

He has long abandoned his responsibilities as a father and i have decided to ignore because I am tired of fighting with him over that. I have been taking care of my son and I just want to know what to do so i won't have any issue with my application. I feel he might refuse to give his consent not because he really cares but out of wickedness. In order to not jeopardize your chances, don't ask him for consent. Instead, inform him you are making a move to claim full custody of the child and get a lawyer to tell him this. Have the lawyer arrange all the documents for him to sign. Effectively, he'll be "giving consent" this way without knowing. Don't mention Canada to him. Else he may just decide to frustrate your plans. In summary, make a move to legally obtain full custody of your kid. |

(2)Has anyone ever had experience with Fed Poly AdoEkiti and if yes how did you go about it? (3) Any other advice or suggestions?
I had to use WES because they give higher points for OND/HND.
I am the principal Applicant and I need the points she will add to my score.
Thanking you in advance for replies. You can ask WES to resend the verification mail. Then alert your school to watch out for it. |

Ajujuju2: Brotherly, I applaud your research skills but trust me... U knw nothing about this one. And i say this with love.
Unless there was a marriage or a co-habitation (living together and acting as married for a few years as to cause reasonable belief that there existed a legal relationship which u knw as comon law marriage) there exists no obligation on both parties.
Her relations with baby daddy no matter how long or short will only just be an affair even if they were engaged and then broke it off. Therefore she is SINGLE in every sense of the word.
Even a child born outta wedlock whose parents later marry is still regarded as a bastard under family law...Yes, the law can b funny and CIC knows not to meddle in personal affairs. I bliv her application on the face of it (and with the little information she has provided) is straightforward.
But ofcos this isnt a law school... and am sure we can argue all ways to support our views.
IF CIC WANTS THEY CAN ASK FOR ADR ON STATUS OF FATHER BUT CANNOT REFUSE HER APPLICATION BECAUSE THERE IS NO CONSENT LETTER. Okay. I understand your point. I guess she needs to provide more background to the story. |

boldinc: Well, your expectation might just be cut short cos there's no part in the application where she would need to produce such document.
Some single mothers have only their names on the child's birth certificate. It's not really a big deal... maybe culturally here in Nigeria, but not in most developed countries. If anything, CIC may consider that association common-law since they were in a conjugal relationship, even though they were not married. Found this on their site. "Separated" the operating word here. Well, what do I know...

boldinc: You couldn't have said it any better. It's not illegal to be single and have a child.
Simply fill in single (if never married) and if married earlier, make sure you have all legal documents showing proof of separation.
There will be no part to upload a consent form from the father nor anyone. Just make sure you also have the child's birth certificate.
Wish you all the best! I would expect if she has no document showing she has full custody of the child, her application won't go any farther without a consent form from the father. |

Some of the answers are written and an examiner could have marked "critics" wrong, instead of "critic", maybe. A remark could gift an upgrade. If you have the time, I'd say go for it. You can only stay on 7.5 or get upgraded. But you lose 15k if the score stays the same. Chicken change, right? lol. |

Canadianfly: What do you reckon the draws would be end of Sept/start of October? 400-and-something Okay. Serious. It's hard to say, as it depends on scores of people in the pool. I extrapolated earlier from scores as at August 17. But since there is likely to be about 3 draws between now and then, cut-off will possibly hover around 430-440. Depends; barring any rule changes. If there will be less draws between now and then, maybe only one, then cut-off could go higher than 450 or get into the late 440s. The one time cut-off went really high between draws this year (36 point increase from 413 to 449), we had about 28 days between the draws. That's the highest number of days between draws since. |

Akupuncture: Credential Assessment for Express Entry
Pls I have OND, HND, BSC and an associate degree. Should I obtain all these transcripts for assessment, or do I just obtained transcripts for two. Is there any advantage of assessing all the transcripts. I am trying to minimize the cost of obtaining the transcripts. OND, BSC, HND, PDP, APC etc. Na only you waka come? Serious sha. You can get good points for your credentials, depends on how you wanna evaluate them. What's the associate degree about? With what I see, you can obtain points for "Two or more certificates with one more than 3 years" if you evaluate any of these: 1. OND + HND 2. OND + BSc It's up to you to choose which is most convenient. Since you have to evaluate the OND anyways, I'd suggest to just do it along with the HND & then your Bsc. Forget the associate degree, if it's not a masters. Won't give you any more points. |

einsteino: i identify as christain but these days i am more of an agonist, inshort i find it hard to fit in one particular label when it comes to religious views. nonetheless, you made some sterling point. background and values does matter. i would look up the data of the rate of divorce in canada to see if i am worrying over nothing sha.
I think there was some miscontruism, counting who has what in a marriage is not the wahls. my worry is paying hefty sums in mortgage for a house i had to give up on, or still servicing an ex, i'd like to think after a divorce one should be allowed to lick his wounds and forget about it, dont see how thats possible with monthly debits, it is scary.. especially if i am not the one seeking for the divorce.
i guess i am putting the cart before the horse, for now lemme focus on getting the pr, if i do get to canada and it turns out the marriage thing is too much of a slippery slope for me, i would see what a prenup can do for me or stay single. Einsteino, I feel you. I can't relate with what Canadianfly is saying. I know cohabitation, even in Canada, allows you to keep your properties. It's like Common law. You guys can have a cohabitation agreement before marriage where each person keeps his/her own property at the end of the relationship. Properties acquired while together can be shared based on an agreement you come to prior to entering into cohabitation. That's the way it goes in most western countries and I don't think Canada is an exception. What the courts can enforce on you is often spousal support, as you can't just up and abandon your child. But you certainly ain't going to be losing a house you got all by yourself before or during cohabitation. http://divorce-canada.ca/more-faq/common-lawcohabitation-separation-in-canada |

Feygbe: Apart from countries that CIC has to send request letter after eAPR before PCC can be done, FBI PCC is the only one that LOE is accepted for because the processing time is 10-12 weeks.Others must be included. As 90 days is more than sufficient to get them.
In fact a couple still got rejected for FBI PCC even though LOEs were attached. On further investigation the LOEs were attached in the additional documents placeholder, not under police certificate placeholder. Here we go again! That's actually your own rule. What I understand is said on CIC's website is what's below. Delays can happen under any circumstance and is not limited to FBI. That's what I understand. But I'm sure we can still keep talking about this.

steroid: Good morning house
I was given a copy of my transcript and certificate when I did my masters abroad. Will WES accept it if I send it to them or must it come to them directly from the school? Please kindly advice. Provided the transcripts meet their requirements on sealing and stamping as stated in this attachment, you can. If it's not sealed and stamped, they'll just ignore it.
