bbaby84: But that's the rule especially for FBI PCC. If you're almost at your deadline and your FBI hasn't come through, you submit with proof that you've requested it. They usually give 2 months deadline to upload it. Actually not just for FBI PCC. It's for all PCCs |

Bankole1790: Good morning everybody.I will like to forward my profile to you and I want you to advice me on certain things.First I want to go and join my aunt in Canada,so she advised me to follow the express entry route. I have a Bsc and an Ond.I also have Ican but I have not been Inducted. The question I want to ask is that Do I have to present my Bsc and Ond results for assessment? Or I should only present a Bsc and will they accept only a statement of result from ican ?If I will be needing my transcript do I have to collect it from the school myself or I will only request for it to be sent to them? Also which assessing body should I forward them to?I also want to ask if I can do the assessment without the ielts. Haha. I guess you got a taste of welcome on board this thread already. It's good advice though, I have to tell you. That first page is even better than the former one. A lot of thought was put into it by the creators, so it's understandable that they find it irritating when someone lands here and asks the most obtuse question. There's a video going around the internet where one father was caught spewing "Jesus is Lord!" to his child's indiscretion. You know that vid? How that father felt there and then? That's how it feels sometimes when one sees these enervating questions, lol. However, I'll try at this instant to answer your questions. It's good that you have an aunt there. You'll get more points on express entry for that. And yes, she has given you the best advice. With the little I garner from your small profile, you should qualify easily and get PR. But there's a lot of work involved. It requires patience and fortitude. You need to send your certificates to WES for evaluation. Please make sure to send ALL your certificates. You never know which could turn out beneficial. Send your BSc, OND, ATS (if you have) and ICAN. You'll have to get your university to send your transcripts, your polytechnic to send your transcripts and ICAN to send your transcripts, all to WES. If you can manage to get them delivered quickly, that's perfect. If you have them already and they are still sealed and stamped like the university delivered them to you, you can send them on straight to WES for evaluation. Check here for more details www.wes.org/ca/And yes, you have to write IELTS general training. You can't avoid it. It's a requirement for express entry, else they can't tell if you are able to speak good English. Forget you have lived with English for years and also typed that question above in English. It don't matter to them. They still need some sort of reassurance that you won't burst into Canada and start blabbing away in Yoruba or Igbo or whatever your Nigerian tongue is. So, IELTS it is. It doesn't stop there. You not only have to write IELTS, you also need to obtain a very good score. Around 8 in listening, 7 in reading, 7 in writing and 7 in speaking. Check here for more details on that www.ielts.orgIn summary, you need your credentials evaluated with WES (you obtain what's called ECA) and you need proof that you speak English (Good IELTS score). If you have more questions, post it here. I'm sure someone will be generous enough to answer, even if it's stupid. But I can't assure you another won't tell you to go back to page 0 sha. And that's for the right reasons. |

Jugdement: Application Submitted - Aug 10 (I Submitted application with LOE & evidence of request for the FBI PCC) Congrats! Remarkable they found evidence for PCC request sufficient. Not surprised though, cos they stated that's as valid. It's funny how people make their own laws for CIC, even when it should be understood that every application is judged on its own merit. |

Canadianfly: Lol this man sef. I think you are wrong oh, what of ladies who used sperm banks?
I think she can do this without the father. List the child as her dependent, select single/never married on her profile. Then she has to get along by force with the vial or straw, lol Seriously though, I doubt CIC will allow her file PR for the child without the father's approval/consent, married or not married. It could have serious legal implications in the future for them and they'll want to avoid that. Except of course she declares the child adopted and not from a relationship. In which case, she has to tender adoption papers. And if one-half of the child belongs to a sperm bank, a quality one I hope, she has to tender papers from them which the sperm donor has signed to relinquish all rights to any child brought forth by the power of his liquid explosion (read in Borat's voice!) A final Hitlerian solution is to simply choose "Never Married" and not mention the child. Bam! Then she goes to Canada and abandons the child to the harsh and despicable Nigerian weather. Problem solved. |

ken2sure: Thanks for the response. The credits for the loan amount would appear on my bank statement with the narration accordingly. Though I intend using treasury bills as my POF cos 95%of my fund are in there (more than 6months old ofcourse), the fact that it will appear on my payslip and SOA is the issue here. Then I think you should use the LOE to describe the situation. Really, you should be fine. If you could also get your employer to admit in a letter that your gratuity will take care of the loan, that'd also be fine. |

Ehrnie: I started from the APEGA website. Put in an application for EIT and was then directed to the WES website where I followed the step by step guide for APEGA licensing applicants. My previous posts gives a break down of the cost. See summary below -
How to Obtain a World Education Services ICAP Report
1.Register for APEGA's Member Self-Service Centre, and receive your ID number. This ID number will be required to order your WES Report.
2.Follow the instructions to continue to the WES website for the next step of the application process.
3.Follow the instructions provided by WES. If you already have an evaluation report from WES, you may need to upgrade that report to an International Credential Advantage Package (ICAP).
4.WES will send the completed evaluation report to APEGA digitally. Physical copies will not be accepted
On the WES website it states that the docs I used for my initial application will be transferred to my new upgraded application (i.e. ECA to Course-by-Course) BUT surprisingly they came back with an email saying they are awaiting verification of my BSc transcript from my University. All other docs (i.e. my MSc + BSc degree certs and MSc transcript verification) were transferred from my previous application so I didn't have to do anything. I don't know if this is now the norm, but yeah that's the process I had to undergo.
Please note that APEGA licensing is for those who will be settling in Alberta and want to practice Engineering.
All the best! |

GoldenJem: Summary is Bachelor's Degree three years.
You know that WES change their position from time to time based on new information. Also ICAN updated their syllabus sometime in 2011. If summary is bachelor's (three years), they might actually be referring to the bachelor's from the university and not to the ICAN degree |

ken2sure: still awaiting responses/contributions on the subject matter. Thanks quote author=ken2sure post=59965899]Good day house. I have a question about POF. I am aware I will have to submit my payslip as part of the documents required post ITA. However, I have accrued loan liability obtained from my place of work over the years which is almost equivalent to what i have as my POF.Though the total loan liability is covered by my accrued gratuity as at today, and my employment policy is to deduct all outstanding loan from accrued gratuity at the point of exit from the job which is clearly stated in the total emolument advice, I am wondering if this will in anyway affect my POF. I really can't attest to "having to" submit payslips. From my findings, some did and some did not. They all ended up getting their PPR. If you have them though, would be a good thing to submit them especially as CIC actually recommends it. CIC wants you to make debts known as well. So you'd have to find a way to make this known, if you want to include your payslips. You could do LOE and explain away these debts as you've done here. However, they'll be getting in touch with the bank and not your workplace regarding your POF, so I don't see the worry. Are your debts visible at the bank? |

JustinTrudeau: Cochtrane ACCA has its own Technician Scheme too. It’s called Certified Accounting Technician (CAT). The CAT Qualification is awarded on the completion of nine exams, consisting of a suite of awards, including certificates and a diploma. If you have CAT you automatically have a diploma and i believe it can be assessed. Okay. Thanks for the clarification. Nice one. |

Oreoluwa08: Hello , please can my school send softcopy of my transcript to WES or it has to be hard copy? Soft copy transcripts are typically not secure, so most institutions don't accept them. They prefer hard copy transcripts that are sealed and stamped. I don't think WES will be an exception. If your university is gonna send your soft copies by email, chances are WES won't accept them. I'm not sure though. I know WES has their own recommendation for soft copy deliveries, and it's through a secure online service called Gradintel. Is that what your university uses? |

getgeorgio: On the contrary, it does. The ACCA Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business awarded after the completion of your F1-F9 courses and Ethics module is assessed as 3years BSc by WES. Yes you are right. Didn't have an idea the poster was referring to the advanced diploma in particular. Of course it's a bachelor's equivalent. That's common knowledge. What I had in the mind, the initial diploma in accounting and business, could probably pass for a one-year certificate. But someone else will need to confirm that. |

Tee248490: Please guys, I need to get some information anout extra certifications. If I have the HSE and advanced HSE certifications, can they be evaluated by WES? Does it count? Has anyone evaluated such here? It's a Nigerian certificate Those are professional certifications, not degree certifications. Are these certificates that are accompanied by transcripts? I don't think so. I'm not sure they'll be viewed positively by WES. But then, it's always a good idea to send as many certificates as you can to WES, if you have the time to wait. They'll charge you same price. Always a good idea to leave them to sieve the wheat from the chaff. |
