Dunno if that's tagged as a feminist
cheesy cheesy grin
Well that's just one of it but I guess that counts.
Depending on what you mean by independent.

Like men and women depend on each other especially in relationships for certain things.
It's natural.

But if as a woman one finds herself without a partner by choice or circumstance, she should be able to stand on her own feet and take care of herself instead of settling or selling herself short just to find a means of support.
Or letting anyone decide for you what to do with your life in terms of career or goals or socialization based on what is expected of your gender.
Off the top of my head.

"E.g. 1) you're a woman, find a job that won't make you earn more than the average man so they won't be intimidated"
"Don't focus on career now. Marry first because you're a woman"
"Don't go into this field because men don't like to marry women who work there"
Etc....

I consider them bullpoo opinions.

If you buy into this school of thought that such is poo, then you're one.

Isn't it sexually provocative abi it's another kid of provocative we are talking about?
Let it not be that there's another social meaning to provocative and I'm here contributing blindly without knowing what y'all are talking about.

That's the only word that I had a problem with since it insinuates that kids can be sexually attractive. I don't see anything wrong with calling for age-appropriate dressing for kids.

As for inappropriate if you read my first post you'll see I already agreed some things look inappropriate on kids as it does not show their true age. So we kind of past that you know.

You don't know that anything that goes wrong with the world or in a woman's life,it's the man's fault.Even when a woman decides to sleep around and have kids with irresponsible men,it still the man's fault.

How can someone who grew up with a responsible father or married to one will spend the majority of their lives blaming men?
I am blessed to have a responsible father and surrounded by amazing men in my life.Just like there are irresponsible men everywhere, there are very irresponsible women, yet we don't get to blame them every time.

We are in the 21 century where everything now is about equality,so why complain that she has three jobs?
@bold not on NL at least. Here everything is the woman's fault.

I guess we should wonder if they didn't grow up with responsible women in their lives at the rate of female bashing that goes on here.
No single respect for womenfolk.

It goes both ways.

@topic true she could be a single mom or widowed. That's the first thing that came to my mind.Anything is possible here. I'm surprised we didn't think that first before assuming the man isn't doing anything.

And someone already implied she might have been irresponsible in her youth. So she might have been a hoe? Talk about assumptions.

All along gender lines too.

Family › Re: A Few Thoughts On Unclothedness AKA N@kedness by cococandy(f): 4:29pm On Oct 09, 2015
I don’t think so and i believe that the equating of Unclothedness with sex is one of the reasons for the recent (as far as I am concerned) ridiculous issue some people have with women breast feeding their babies in public.
Unclothedness leads to sexual harassment and or abuse: I disagree vehemently with this. The Unclothedness of a person does not rob another of his or her sense of reason. This act of placing the responsibility of one’s sanity on the shoulders of another (and it is the woman that suffer this the most) is a debasing act that reduces the man to a creature of instinct who needs to be kept in line by not “stirring him up”. Sexual abuse and harassment starts and ends with the perpetrator. We are responsible for ourselves. We all have brains after all. I believe that it shows great depth of character (and insight) when we consider every man and woman, no matter how they are dressed as people who are worthy of respect and honor.

@number 4, I've kind of thought of that too. If God made us nayked and meant for us to be nayked, did he make a mistake initially?

MusingsOfALady:
I don't think the right word is "provocative"(intended to arouse). However children can appear indecent and unnecessarily exposed when bum shorts is worn at an inappropriate place.

The emphasis of the post is not just on bum shorts. It's the overall outlook of a child. A child should never be described as "hot", sexy or a chick. Beyond bum shorts there are many other ways we sexualize our children- for example- through Music and dancing. A lot of children can give Beyounce a run for her money, they twerk and sing lurid lyrics. Even sometimes through nicknames- imagine another calling her daughter- sexy mama?

Another common one is allowing them to watch age inappropriate movies with you, exposing them to sexual content on TV programmes etc
. Lets not get fixed on bum shorts, its not the single factor causing it, there are other factors as well.

@stillfire this is an example of what we Nigerians know as "provocative" bumshorts. Pls pay no mind to some folk who like to paint others in bad light for reasons best known to them. Or maybe it's just honest ignorance.
Is that a child wearing it?

Show us pics of kids wearing bumshorts let's judge how sexy they look in it.
That's the whole point and I'll shut up.

If kids can't look sexy in bum shorts, that means bum shorts can't be considered provocative dressing when children wear it.

indecent dressing on one person can be decent in another based on size.

So I don't know how a child wearing bum shorts can be considered provocatively dressed when there's nothing to show there.

Lol@painting others in bad light. You're not serious.

Why not tell her how her attitude makes you feel?
At least tell her first.

And in future challenges, let her work it out herself no matter how tough. Just sit around and fight the urge to help her out.
Maybe she will be forced to ask and then you can say you won't do it bluntly because she won't appreciate it if you do.
That could open the floodgate for more outpouring. Don't shy away from it because you want to avoid a fight with her. No.

That 'fight' is long over due and you have to have it before you can amend things and move on.
No matter how 'one' you've become, spouses should always be appreciative of each other. Even for the smallest things. Taking one's partner for granted can lead to many other bigger issues.

Nice smiley

Love me a man that can cook
Bollinger:
Had the worst possible news today, so, to cheer myself up, i decide to cook. Always seems to calm me down and or, cheer me up. It tasted absolutely fantabulous, just so you'd know. Take my word for it. Now for the single guys in da house who struggle with cooking. I like to pride myself with being an amateur professional cook and i'd like to spill the beans on some secrets most chicks keep to themselves in this department. Pit me against any female in the culinary arena and i promise you i'd slam her hands down, (no pun intended wink). The secret to most dishes is the sauce, as in the beginning for your cooking. If you can get that right everything else is a breeze. Usually, it always starts with cooking the meat. Most people think cooking meat is all about throwing everything into a pot and voila, everything is good. Heck no. I like to slow cook my meat till it's soft, with not too much water. That is the only way to retain the flavor as well as give you a good stock for later use. A pressure cooker comes in handy for this to be effective, though not necessary. Next, preparing your pepper/tomatoes/onions. Apart from knowing how to mix the right quantity you need, you also need to know what kind of soup you are preparing it for. If it's stew, you absolutely have to boil the pepper till all the water evaporates and if it's just straight up soup, then, well, you can leave it as is. If you can get these down pat, you can pretty much just dump every other ingredients into your pot just as you would cooking edikaikong soup. Anyway, i hope this helps.

@bold, no kidding?
What nerve!

I don't want to blame you here but seriously it's the way you're going about that makes her she can keep on doing it. Even the man talking to you that way shows he has no regard for you as her husband.

ryut:
I have asked her after the marriage and on many other occasions when i started observing such communications if she and the man made any 'covenant'. she said no.What actually annoyed me most since two days ago till now was first,i can recall vividly after the marriage i started noticing such to the extent that i have to call the man on phone then and explain to him the need to stop these communications since she is now married, the man was sounding harsh and said that 'i will still see',till today i don't know what he mean by that statement, when i then changed her sim card.I sat my wife down severally times that ex boy or girl communication in marriage destroys marriage, that there is no gain on it and that the very time we got married,i and my ex cut off permanently that till date neither she nor i didnt call each other and dont even know where any of us are,not that if she or i want to trace the contact of each other that we wont find it,but it does more harm than good in marriage.Recently when i saw their whatspp chat and what they are chatting there and phone communication,i cautioned her that i have been warning her about this her ex and she still keep on communicating him, that i dont want to see such again unless she will pack her things and go and stay with the man,or go back to his family house. The irony of it is that she is even the one that initiates communications-both on chat and phone call.I deleted the man number from her phone. But,I was shocked still seeing her calling the man few days ago and the man also calls her. That means they have still been communicating since then in my absence only that i happen by chance see this one.
Secondly, last time, there is one man still from their side as well,(pls i dont want to mention what happened),but i have to pick her phone and told her in my presence to send an sms to this man and told him"that she is cutting off the communication between them and whatever whatever",she text it and sent and i deleted the man number.Surprisingly, after like two weeks,i noticed that she called the man.She has to go the extent of sourcing for the man number again and give him a call. That day,not knowing that i knew that she called him,i asked her, since that time i told you to cut off the communication with that man, have you ever for one day called him again,She said "NOOOO,how can she do that, somebody she stopped communicating since then even the number was deleted that day and she doesnt have his number again".She lied and lied.I was so upset and nearly ran mad, when i then brought her phone and asked her who has this number and this call-the number was not saved with any name, she kept quiet and say, eeehmm,it was the man that called her,i told her that she is a liar and i opened the call log and showed her the outgoing call log she first made to the man, before the man later called her back.i was so annoyed, yet i let it go.
So the two above made me to even as i am typing this text,i am still very angry since day before yesterday, that after all my caution and warning to her having caught her by chance, she still ignore my warning and secretly communicating and thats what pained me most and i cant bear this again.

I dare you.

It is the same style of shorts please. Only that in kids it never looks like this because there's no butt to expose. Those their tiny legs sef grin

That's why I find it weird that bum shorts on kids is considered sexy by some people.

It's the same thing as spaghetti straps or what have you on kids. They just look less dressed in it not sexy.

But if you're talking about robust teenagers who are beginning to develop sexually physically, then that would be a different thing and I'd agree with you on that.

I practically grew up wearing shorts like that in the pic. So people find that provocative? Really?
Well that's what I know bum shorts to be.

On adults the butt may hang out because they have butts that can hang out but on kids, there's nothing there to hang out so that's how it looks on kids.

Anything shorter than that is basically a pantie.
