Life happens.
Just pray to never be in such a situation.
And yes excuses can be made is such situations.

What if he was unfairly laid off his job for no fault of his than office politics or witch-hunt?
What if one big investment flopped?
What if? What if? So many scenaria come to mind.
He can go bankrupt in such cases and he won't be a failure for that.

Pls remember to be kind to yourself if ever life throws you one big curveball that requires you and the whole family having to depend on your wife until you can stand up again to support her and contribute too as you used to.

A man who doesn't try at all is not the same as one who does but can't meet up with all the demands.
And there millions of such men out there.
5minsmadness:
I admit I hardy read what u posted up there. There should be no excuses.
If a man is so bankrupt he can't pay for his own house rent then he has failed in his duties and is worse than a pharisee.

There a certain things a man should do to make his wife secure. One of these is taking care of the house financially. I can understand wifey contributing some money to the rent, but not all of it or not for more than a year at a time. If he fails in his responsibilities then maybe that is why wifey isn't serving him food in the first place.

Then the man is a fool.
He should do the honourable thing and leave the house.
really?
You have no idea what hard times mean.
So if a man is not able to meet up with financial needs of his family at some point, he's a fool?

Easy dude.

providing for a family is not easy and generally can't be achieved by one person.
Except he's a rich man, the average guy will always need financial help from his wife.
So even if his own money is used for rent/mortgage/building house and his wife uses hers to take care of the family, it is the same thing.
It doesn't make him the owner of the house.
Family › Re: Matured Advice Needed Urgently Esp From The Married by cococandy(f): 8:49pm On Apr 21, 2015
5minsmadness:
Apologies.
We dont differ in belief of who has greater strength.
We differ in belief of who has the house.
The man pays the rent.
The man brought her to HIS house.
If she misbehaves the man sends her out.
Ce finis.
So if the woman pays rent she owns the house? grin and if the man misbehaves, she can send him out?

Well I believe marriage is oneness.
If one persons owns the house, is there a sense of belonging for the other person? Or is he/she just at the mercy of the 'owner' of the house?
Why build a life in an insecure place where you can be sent out at the pleasure of the 'owner'?
Is there even a point living such a life?

That is such an unpalatable view of marriage.
Why should anyone give up stuff or make sacrifices for a life that's not even theirs to start with?

Well your opinion.
Let's agree to disagree.

5minsmadness:
I know u don't believe this, but men are stronger than women. All he has to do is tell her to go nicely, if she refuses then he carries her out physically (without hurting her, don't worry), then he helps her pack her bags and sends it out. It's not only women that want a peaceful marriage. If she wants to go she should go. If she wants to stay then she should kindly explain why she would deliberately starve him. Marriage is not by force, if she doesn't want she should go.
You know I don't believe men are stronger than women? Are kidding me?
Wherever did you get that idea from?

Plssssss.

Anyway that said, there are some women that you would want to carry out and they claw at you, scratch and tear your cloth or even hit you with stuff the moment you get close enough to try force them out of the house. You might end up in that fight you were trying to avoid.

Never mind. I was just trying to help you explore the various scenarios that may come with trying to get an unwilling woman out of a house.
Lifting her and carrying her out may or may not work as strengths differ from person to person.

Now to the appropriate question.
The house belongs to the man and his wife.
Why should the wife be the one to leave if they have unresolved issues? Seriously angry

How do you physically send a lady out of the home if she doesn't want to go?
Just asking sha because I can't imagine such a picture without violence.

If the guy is trying to avoid a fight, how will he get her to leave? By just saying it?
What if she says no?
Will he push her or drag her outside or hire some poeple to come do it? grin

5minsmadness:
True you can force a horse to the stream but you cant force it to drink.
this applies both ways.

man comes home, no food for him meanwhile he provided money and left the house without any quarrel.
he asks wife(not barks, nobody is barking here) and wife refuses. husband asks what is wrong wife says nothing then makes food for herself and her son. Husband insists wife doesnt eat cos its from the same pot wife should have served him food. son can eat since he is a kid. next day husband jejely sends wife home to recover from whatever she is suffering from. If she doesnt want to come back she should stay there.shikena. the world will go on without her.
No time for BULLshit.

Sigh.

Breath of fresh air.
Thank you.
Ralphlauren:
damiso, taking time off from work (one day to a week) to take care of a sick child is different from giving up your career entirely to raise a child.

in as much as you might get the 'stare' from your employer anytime you give 'child care' reasons for not coming to work or coming in late, trust me they understand.

the mothers they have issues with are those not pulling their weight in the workplace. if you know your onions well, the business will actually 'bend' for you.

heck! i know mothers that work few days a week (3days) and attend meetings via skype from the comfort of their homes and trust me, their input to the organisation is immeasurable.

besides, parenting is a joint effort. if the man has a more flexible job, then he has to do the school runs, attend all the PTA meetings, etc. however, some men do not want to get involved. they are happy to push their wives to ''teaching jobs'' under the guise of ''taking care of the kids'' while they flourish in their own careers which is bullocks if you ask me - after all, they had the kids together, so why cant he make sacrifices too?.

regarding UK's HSE, its for every parents' good. i am all for full disclosure especially with kids. if my kid receives a punch from another, i want to know grin

Doing all that didn't make you a pansy.
Because a girl was too xtupid to see how great your attitude was doesn't mean it doesn't work.

Some girls are abuse junkies. If you don't have exaggerated machismo they don't consider you man enough. That's not who really want to be with if being there means you always have to go against your natural instinct to be kind and sweet.

If that's the kind of guy you are, there are babes who will appreciate that. Don't waste it

5minsmadness:
This was regular for me. I had to stop it when one of the girls that got really close to me told me about it. if you are my girlfriend i would carry you on a silver platter. I believe in the old ways and i would write poems and compose songs( yeah i admit it, silly now i come to think about it) and all this done during the facebook era o. I was a hopeless romantic.

Its all BULLshit.

Now I know the secret I'm having difficulty choosing who to marry cos the girls are too many.
Girls want men. No scratch that, Girls NEED men. Not pansies. It makes them feel fulfilled and womanly. It probably sounds obnoxious the way i'm saying it but its the gospel truth.

OP I don't understand how your wife friend's wife will cook, eat and feed her son leaving nothing for you your friend.

I can't manage to see that as normal behavior because no normal person will behave that way except she's giving you the silent treatment over something else that your friend didn't tell you or you're not telling us.

Find out what that problem is and fix it. Or try to fix it.

Even a house maid will be hurt if Madam feeds only herself and her child leaving nothing for her.
I don't know what normal woman would treat Her husband that way.
Family › Re: Matured Advice Needed Urgently Esp From The Married by cococandy(f): 3:39pm On Apr 21, 2015
@bold is what you call 'treating like an egg'? Chai grin
The eggs where you come from must be pretty hard.

That there is normal married-guy routine.
Any guy who doesn't do all the above and some more is a brute.

Seriously what other option does a normal guy have. Not help out at home? Rape his wife?
5minsmadness:
It depends on what u mean by 'caring'.

A man goes all out for his wife and treats her like an egg. He helps with the house chores, washes the clothes, gives her preference when watching TV, doesn't force her to have sex, cooks occasionally, etc and you find out that most women treat men like them like dirt. They don't appreciate them and abuse them verbally and emotionally at every opportunity.

Such a man is 'caring'.

Sometimes however a man has to show his assertive side. He has to exhibit a little bit of madness to draw wifey back on track. He has to go at it with an "I don't care" attitude and mean it. Most times the woman will complain but rarely will they quit the marriage.

Ralphlauren:
what about dropping the kids off at a very good daycare center?

i do not understand all the noise about women unable to combine career with raising kids or giving up their career because of their kids.

being a 'stay-at-home' mum doesnt mean you will have the most intelligent kids on earth. Heck! I am surrounded by people with 1st class degrees with excellent jobs whose mothers all combined motherhood with their careers and they retired as executive directors, MDs of top companies.

having a very good job/impressive career if anything sets a good example for your kids. it shows you are successful, independent, motivated and hardworking

why would someone with a geology degree aspire for a teaching job under the guise of ''you want to raise your kids''? what happened to oil and gas firms? do you know you can work in the office and not on a rig with your degree? oil and gas jobs are actually the least stressful. by 4pm, the staff bus is waiting to drive everyone home.

why did you study geology in the first place? you must have known you were going to be a mother some day, so why didnt you just get a degree in education rather than putting yourself through the rigours of acquiring a degree in geology?

one day those kids will leave home. dont forget that. by age 12/13, they are off to boarding school. in sane countries, a 16yr old is classed an adult. by age 18, they are off to university. before you know it, they are married. so dont give up on your dreams/career because of them.

women, stop limiting yourselves!!

I think it's only on internet e.g Nairaland family section that marriage is over-rated.

For example; Genevieve is unmarried and only on cyberspace that men and women will insult her about her marital status.
In the real world, they won't have an effrontery to confront her but will lick her feet instead of that married Mama Nkechi or Tolu with seven kids waiting for her husband to provide everything.

Thank God internet has given some Nigerian an avenue to portray their chauvinistic tendency they can't do offline infront of an accomplished lady.
