She sounds like she’s not a morning person. She probably hasn’t discovered the routine that works best for her. Being a night person can be tough when you have kids that you need to get ready and get to school in the morning. I personally don’t wake up before 10:00am unless I have to. And when I do, I resent it but I do it because I have to. I struggle with that but I can stay up all night doing things about the house. The 9-5 schedule doesn’t work for everyone. That might be the case with her (maybe).

Not a fan of bread but any6ime I try eating the bread here, I develop cold feet. They are horrible.
I eat my akara with pap.

If you want the shape of your akara to be exactly like those you see at home, incorporate enough air by whisking for like 10 minutes hand whisk and around 5 electric.
You will know it's good when it's on fire, it is floating. It will not suck oil.

Looks good to me
I’ll try that next time smiley

Coming with my Filipino bread. I want the one with dimples like me and antennas by the corner of the plate.

Have you tried it with Filipino bread straight from the bakery, hot and rubbery cheesy?
It is like eating hot nig bread.
I don’t have a Filipino store near me. Or at least I haven’t discovered it yet. There must be one

Coco, oya dey go.
Last long = 1 month?
Carry your slippers and be going abeg. grin
Considering the others last like a week or so, orchids dey try. In fact Costco roses last exactly one week. Hardly more than that.

Okay I’m going. cheesy

pocohantas:
Yes of course cheesy. I bought orchids and some other unfamiliar flowers - all artificial. They don’t die and I do not have to maintain them, asides cleaning the vase and flowers.
Ah I see. I like your style . Orchids are so classy.

but I have commitment issues and always feel like switching it up.

But real orchids last long too (like a month) without much maintenance.

Why you hide that one for corner? The shape be like rhombus. cheesy

Akara looks good. Na soft bread remain!
embarassed embarassed embarassed
All the ameboa shaped ones are hiding in the corner or under. I refuse to let them spoil my picture

I used Hawaiian sweet rolls to eat it. Best combo ever. This is the best bread I can find here for akara. Soft squishy

Lmao @ flowers for attention. Are they real?
I prefer the artificial ones embarassed. I got one in a nordic vase that looks like yours, though smaller. I thought it would be big, turned out to be one small something. I just put it somewhere sha.
I love yours. Very beautiful.

Yes mine are real. From Costco grocery store.
My favorite flowers usually come from Trader Joe’s because they are so big and cheap and usually last very long.

Do you prefer the fake ones because they don’t die?

Not to some slow dumb people.
They think he’s God’s messenger.
The God they worship I’ll never understand.

DeeMain:
Says an ex-president who attempted a coup and stole thousands of government documents and classified documents probably with the intention of selling those secrets to enemy nations.

Trump, you shall go to jail for coup attempt and treason. Mad man. Winter is coming for you and all those your collaborators.

Moral lesson: Reason why we should never allow narcissists and drug barons and men with shady pasts to rule us.

this thing may devolve into seeking dollar donations. at which point the real fight will break out.
I think so too.

If they went to do a fundraiser they should just say so. Nothing wrong with that but calling it a town hall when they are asking people to pay just comes off as ignorant. It should be open to all Nigerians at no cost.

Some beliefs are not worth having. I don’t care how true of a Christian you think you are but if you have these types of beliefs, you’re not better than the devil you claim to be against.

I don’t know her (shuba). I have to look her up.

They thing with tiktok is that it’s very relatable. You’ll always find something in your niche that you enjoy watching
Magnoliaa:
It's the rules for me o. grin Is that 10hrs+ I am seeing for braids length reaching the bra?? Omo. Watin dem wan dey plait?

Long live the Internet. Tiktok videos in particular are very creative and original. You know there's also a trenches Tiktok? Or Tiktok for trenches side? Yoruba girls are infiltrating that category. There's one that even sparked a conversation on Twitter. A girl was celebrating her birthday in "the trenches." When I find the tweet, I'll post the link.

Shuba is also another lady on YouTube I admire - do you know her? She uploads YouTube Shorts.

Speaking about trenches and posh salons, over here posh salons will want to charge you $500-$1000 for braids. They also expect tips and have a long list of rules. Meanwhile the trenches lady that braids my hair charges me less than $200 or at most $250 one time when I got faux locs. I don’t do complicated styles anyway .

Girls here dey enter plane go Jamaica or one of the islands to get braids. That way if they spend $1000, they know they got braids and a vacation out of it. Nothing will make me spend $1k on braids. It’s the trenches for me or I’ll do it myself. Trenches forever. grin

my dear experience is the best teacher. When you’ve tried both and see that the others are just charging for AC that you already have at home.
Nairaland General › Re: The Pinkpill Roundtable Discussion by cococandy(f): 5:58pm On Aug 30, 2022
Those trenches people have to be the winners

There might be a few exceptions but I want to believe that in general those experienced folks that have been doing it for years in one offsite shack carry the braiding industry.
folake4u:
Pocohantas made mention of braids yesterday and somehow I stumbled on this thread on Twitter today.

https://twitter.com/Dlaureate/status/1564326943088074752?t=bj76Arzm27HOH1obNVyKNw&s=19

Are trenches braids of 5k better than 25k braids? Do you like paying 25k for braids just for the comfort/ AC enjoyment etc?

Share your experiences with us.
