Sorry descarado: Don't even go there. I finally made up my mind and ordered the oster oven. Can u believe the tax and shipping almost equal the price of the machine? Arrrrrrrrrg!
I discovered UK and USA are not good trade ally. Something I get from far away South Korea or China costs less in shipping and taxation. The tax is killing. Maybe they are discouraging made in USA here. Also, when u get some stuffs, you have to change the head to UK's else it won't fit in.
Crazy. |

MLTR: Nothing is as important as citing a history or making a reference when discussing politics. lets be guided however i don't know of any gubernatorial candidate that lose as a result of choice of VP, if we are gonna make these all about achievements pence has more achievement than harry. nevertheless congrat to the biden/harry. |

I repeat it: men do not think they merit a position because they are men; they work (steal, hard work, smart work, lobby, kiss ass, bully etc) for it and would respect any woman who has the guts to go for what they want. Bukatyne you do not actually believe this do you? |

Aflix: America a sexist country Huuumm....... that's new. I have never stepped foot in America, but I can bet that America is not a sexist country. They've got female representation. Heck, Hilary Clinton garnered more popular votes than Donald Trump. That's really unlikely coming from a "sexist country". Sexist none the less. |

Like several folks have said before , The win doesn’t belong to the primary person alone. It belongs to both of them. The president and the VP. A president can win or lose an election because of the VP he or she chooses. Very important fact. bukatyne: Obama was president, Kamala is the VP, the running mate of Biden.
The hype of Kamala is at the point of being qualified to be Biden's running mate and not winning the elections.
It is hyping a father above a mother during the event of child birth. |
Family › Re: Kamala Harris: Why The Idolization? by cococandy(f): 2:30pm On Jan 22, 2021 |
bukatyne: And hyped like this?
Yes. So where is your thread from when Obama won? (I kid) Because his race was a big issue and we celebrated his achievements in addition to celebrating someone of his race being given that opportunity. Celebrating his race then didn’t mean his achievements were less important. It’s basically the same thing in this case. |
Family › Re: Kamala Harris: Why The Idolization? by cococandy(f): 2:27pm On Jan 22, 2021 |
You don’t seriously think that the two factors can be separated do you? Her being female and the “idolization”. Remember the reason why it’s happening is because a sexist country like America is getting better at fielding female representatives. Unless you mean you don’t want a gender war on the thread then that makes sense. But the topic itself is based on gender. bukatyne: Please before we continue, there are some disclaimers in the OP.
I do not want this discussion to become a gender discussion.
Thank you. |

crazygod: It seems you don't understand the point of contention here. What they are saying is this new law Biden is about to sign will even make any teenager or anybody for that matter to abort a baby that's 8 months or 9 months even if its not detrimental to the health of the mother or for some selfish reasons govt link to the proposed law, please. Thanks I want to read it on the govt website myself so I won’t argue blindly next time. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Abortion: Head Of US Bishops' Conference Warns Biden by cococandy(f): 12:27pm On Jan 22, 2021 |
crazygod: ITK. What that means is that even at the 9th month, the baby can be aborted. smh Where? In America or Nigeria? Do you know that once a baby is passed 22 weeks of gestation, we deliver them and put them on life support until they can breathe on their own? 22 weeks! Of course some/many don’t make it. But we try anyway. Even if abortion is necessary to save the mom’s life, once it’s passed 22 weeks, we try to save both unless we absolutely cannot. Do you know a full term pregnancy has to be delivered through the labor process right? Whether the fetus is alive or dead. At 9 months, you think there are people out here going into full term labor to give birth to dead babies that they purposely killed? Rather than go into labor to give birth to the baby alive and give it away? What a crock of bullshit. Borne out of ignorance. My goodness |

crazygod: By legalizing the killing of unborn babies up to the point of birth? Up to the point of birth? Does that make sense to any of you? So rather than give birth to the infant alive, they kill it and any give birth to its dead body right? Do you know what point of birth means? Smh |

You’re the one who asked “why the idolization”. I’m telling you it’s not idolization (as in she has personally done something unimaginable) . Rather It’s a celebration of the symbolism of it. We are not celebrating that we have seen a black woman who finally measures up to white men. We are celebrating that we (Americans) have gotten to a point where we have overcome some of the obstacles put in place to make sure people like us never make it to such positions despite being qualified. That’s the reason for the noise. bukatyne: You have it mixed up:
Her personal achievements are nice to celebrate and a nice 'look at what Kamala' achieved.
Becoming the VP is not.
Do you think Peter Obi's becoming the VP of Nigeria as the 1st Igbo VP is worth hyping more than his Governorship?
Would you have celebrated Peter Obi becoming the 1st Igbo VP if Atiku Won? |
Family › Re: Kamala Harris: Why The Idolization? by cococandy(f): 12:03am On Jan 22, 2021 |
It’s not idolization of her personal achievement.
It’s a celebration of what her being in that position represents for minorities and women. |
