Nothing in the OP made sense to me.

My brother wasn't raised that way and my son/s won't be raised that way.
There was and should always be a balance between indulgence when required and discipline when necessary.
Ain't no one interested in raising a self-centered douche. At least not me.

To be honest, I wasn't expecting anything better. You just go from bad to worse each day without any hope of things getting better.

Everything in your riposte carries the imprint of a cyber bully, but you can enjoy yourself, regardless.

Damn! Your man must have a hell of a time with your type.
I'm the bully? I guess that makes you the victim right?

Exactly
Mamatee07:
I always wondered why Nigerians are so afraid of Gender equality then I saw it's because th men are afraid to lose their "superiority " to their wives are the woman think their husband will kick them out or men won't marry them if they dare say they support gender equality.
The other funny thing Is how Nigerians love to quote quote Bible to suit themselves. I don't know where they saw that a woman should submit to every man on the road undecided
Also funny that the adulterers and fornicators like Foluke who married another woman's husband and divorced her ex husband are suddenly quoting Bible. Apparently Foluke. The Adulteress.is now a saint in the eyes of Nairaland men because she doesn't support gender equality which clearly she doesn't even understand. I am sure the same Foluke.would never want her Driver to think he's superior to her just because he has a Penis
The mistake those women on Instagram made is they should have calmly explained what gender equality actually means. Nigerians need need first be educated on what gender equality actually means
optimus007:
And by now, if it isn't already apparent to you that Gender Equality Bill does not equate to the private practices of spouses or lovers or friends to be decided between them, you are one of the many people that need to feed your minds with more information.

There's so many ignorant asses about on this topic. As if anyone gives a shyt who wears the pants in their homes.
Mamatee07:
It's obvious that Foluke and many here do not even understand t meaning of gender equality
Gender equality is not about marriages, operate your marriage in whatever way you wish but outside your home every women on the road is equal to every on the road.

Those talking about the Bible, pls note that the Bible only mentions a woman submitting to her husband and not every man on the road. We are talking about equality in society at large and not marriages

You won't go and find food to fill your hungry bones abi? Pls keep my name off your dirty fingers. Epic ediot.
konvict0111:
I won't say your opinion is not valid but I fear it's quickly becoming a contextual nonsense in contemporary Nigeria.

We shouldn't carry images of what we are made to believe Africa was and assume it has remained so till this day.

When you raise all the insinuations that suit your point of view, you tend to forget the other variable factors which continues to stand in your favour, whether merited or not.

We can talk about the comfort of chivalry in this sense and other many soft-landing gesture approach for women in society of today and this only because they are females.

I do believe that every act of unfairness against a fellow human being should be condemned out of hand, irrespective of who or the gender involved.

Any further call outside of this must be taken with caution and is potentially an attempt to enthrone extremism in the grander scheme of things.

So, that's why I think feminism is needless struggle, but even moreso why I conceive that women like Cococandy, who seem to be at odds with their natural biological conditions, are a problem to the society at large!

We choose uniqueness in our beings and fairness to all and sundry well over your feminism.

Not everyone is intelligent
khalhokage:
The Foluke person really is foolish, with all that's going on in this country how can an intelligent woman not want gender equality?

I was about to travel one day when my ex told me " I know you are going to sleep with other girls when you get there but all I ask is that you come back to me " I lost my respect for her that day, that's why we're not together today.

I don't want a pet for a significant other that'll roll over and submit whenever I say something, I want a smart woman that can challenge me and make me better, someone that can earn my respect, I want someone that'll respect me for myself instead of fear and tolerate me.

Any woman that's against gender equality, shame on you.

@bolded statements are contradictory with each other. How can we not need the bill but need equal opportunity for both genders? Is that not what the bill is about?
doveda:
Stvpid woman. Foluke in particular must be a mo.ron. Inasmuch as I don't believe that we need Gender equality bill, Foluke must be daft to say women should have less rights. Less rights in what exactly?undecided The mor.on might not have had a shot at formal education if it was part of the right exclusively granted to men. The mo.ron might still believe that a woman deserves to be sexuallt assaulted. The mo.ron might have been severely dealt with for having an affair while married with a married man. Foluke has absolutely no right to talk!

What we want is equal opportunity for all gender. We already have laws that cover areas where women are primarily the victims for example archaic widow practices and abuse. I don't know where in Nigeria women are paid less for working the same job with the same number of hours as their male colleagues. There is no one in Nigeria that can stop a woman from doing anything, so what exactly is their problem? . If they want something to fight, they should start with the increasing rate of sexual abuse of our children. However they are right to chastise the woman for making a mo..ronic statementundecided

Family › Re: Isn't This A Valid Reason To Shun Marriage? by cococandy(f): 9:07am On Apr 27, 2016
It's a valid reason.
You can get married to someone who doesn't want babies. There's no law that says married people must have kids.
Rohypnol:
Hi everyone.
I will just get straight to the point and say that I don't want to get married simply because so many genetic diseases run in my family and I don't want to put another human being (my child) through the inconvinience of having to cope with these diseases.
Am talking genetic diseases like anaemia, hypertension, stroke, diabetes and asthma.
Can I not stay single just to keep myself from passing these problems to my offspring?
Is that a justifiable reason or am I overeacting and is marriage still a good idea?

If my daughter should end up in foster care and up for adoption, I'd choose a good gay couple over evil heterosexual ones any day.

I insulted you because of your stupidity in involving my family when nothing called for that.
Not because I think gay couples are evil.

I'm sure you've never heard of heterosexual parents who have abused their own kids or other people's kids.
But I guess it's beyond you.
Why did I bother huh

For the first time we agree
postmann:
Shame on the 17 southern governors. If anything remotely like this happened in the north, you would see emergency meetings involving high stakeholders. You would have seen several closed door meetings and issuing of threatening resolutions. One or two governors would have fearlessly pointed a finger at the president.
Some would have flown to Washington to issue threats to the unity of the country.
But here we are, facing a systematic takeover, ethnic cleasing, and economic disruption and there is no collective political response from the south.

Slavery and cowardice are near cousins.

While I agree that people should not compare their relationships.... I find the rest of your post amusing.

You seem to suggest there are no good husbands & every woman is suffering and smiling somehow when she says she wouldn't take poo.

I know husbands who would do anything to make their wives happy always... If senerading her nightly or as oft as he can does it, he is willing.

It is hard to believe there are still fantastic husbands around as the sob stories and negativity sells and once a wife doesn't tell us how her husband pounds her daily or goes on a dick sharing campaign, she is lying.

This is why I find it hard & unnecessary discussing details of my relationship/marriage with anyone... and when people start their sob stories, I switch to listen only mode as I have none to tell.

I believe people have loving relationships on/offline because I have seen examples. Everyone knows what is good for them and if playing the fool helps them achieve it, great.

N.B.: You just managed to tell us that there are no good husbands.

Your case is different
pinkiberry:
pls dont judge girls that date or onces dated a married man, most of us did It out of sheer ignorance. I met this guy,he was so nice,he asked me to be his girlfriend, one thing led to another,we started dating, before you'd know it, he engaged me and insist I wear the ring to school but unknown to me he was married. he rented a separate apartment where he stay with me and flirt. I never knew he was married one day a friend of his that came to visit him saw me one day with him and told me he was married with a kid and his wife is pregnant,I was so shocked, I felt like the ground should open and swallow me, my leg couldn't carry me, I felt so betrayed because I trusted him with all my heart . His friend revealed that to me because he was from my L.G.A, he couldn't watch him deceive his sister. Anyway I ended the relationship with the married man and since then we dont talk and I dont plan on having anything to do with him again. I really loved him but it took me a lot of courage and time to get over him. I cried every night, I curse him and wished I never met him.

Thank you.

See excuse. Innocent indeed.

Except the lady didn't know during the period they were dating.
Hernyolar:
No sane lady has any excuse for dating a married man...under no circumstances at all.
forget all he tells you about his 'bad' wife...my wife is boring...my wife can't do this, can't do that.
Women...we are our greatest enemy ....why will you be intimate friends with a married man?? instead of using a long spoon to dine with the devil....why not flee away from himhuh
He made a vow with another woman...why will you be the reason for a broken home?? why would you let innocent kids suffer??

Even when a married man asks you for a relationship, why don't you put yourself in the woman's shoe...and reject his over...at least if the man isn't sensible....
A cousin of mine got married last weekend and I didn't attend cos she was the 'other' woman...I told her point blank that she's evil...she was shocked cos we are quite close but what's bad is bad...her mum called me after and I told her the same..

You can't build your own happiness on another woman's sorrow...it will come crashing like a pack of cards right before your very eyes...

Maybe really look into bringing someone from Nigeria. Why is that not working out?
I think it's the most practical for now. Expense wise and all.

Or take them to a formal day care not someone else's house where you can't lay down the rules.

You guys could try to work less hours if your jobs are flexible or take fewer classes at a time to give you more hrs during the week.

We are still sayin the samething. There must be challenges when you give ur responsibility to another person. You and your wife should sit down and think of the way forward. She can change work that will give her more time so u can train your kids the way you want them and watch them grow the way u wish
that's how easy it is to change work?
Because you have all the jobs lined up out there for you to pick the one you want. undecided
