Hey stop mixing the monikers up.

So you have inadvertently agreed that the notion of feminism is as baseless as mere assertions without truths!!! Thank you.

And since men and women aren't equal and will never be in equal in responsibility and leadership, why not save yourself the burden of proving the absurd.

Because you cococandy don't even want a man who is your equal!!!

Mrs Intelligence, should I ask you to define equality and how it relates to man and woman, your selfishness and greed will stare at you in the face.

Gender equality is a myth. Talk about gender equity. Feminists are confused, greedy leeches with little sense of shame and gratitude.
Gratitude for what? If you don't mind me asking.

Before you go off, na only question I ask o please. Just keep the answer simple . Thank you.

They will come for your head o. You're bashing NIGERIA. angry

But seriously though something has to be done about our 'foreign products are' better mentality.
Even thought I suffer from it small I won't lie but I can say I only do that with stuff I'm sure is definitely better not just because it was imported.
Onegai:
So let me narrate a funny story about how badly Nigerian mentality of not appreciating what is theirs, is:

A few weeks ago, I went to one of my regular pro gardeners. I saw some big seashells there (about the same size as mine). I picked them up and asked her about it and she said "oh they are for sale". I was like, "okay, how much are they?". This was purely curiosity. She replied "a bag is N2000". I had to exclaim and I then asked her why they were expensive. Guess what her answer was?
"Oh these seashells are from Togo and Benin Republic!
I was dazed. So we are importing seashells now?!! When I asked her what the difference between these "imported" seashells and our regular seashells here on the beach, she replied that the imported ones "were whiter".

Even worse, all this happened in Ikoyi. The beach is less than 40 minutes away. And she even said they eat it in her area but it didn't occur to her to get some kids to pick it for free, she bought from Togo. I'm just praying she was lying to me, so she could make a profit. Because that would be so so much better than "we imported seashells to sell in Nigeria".

Wait, why am I complaining? There's a shop that sells packaged seashells from China, in Iponri market, as part of home decor grin

Nigeria's problems are many...

OP come and defend yourself.

See I have a 10week old baby and I can't imagine how it would feel to not have anything to take care of her at such a tender period. If you're for real I can contribute my student's mite so you will at least have pampers for your baby.

But that must be after it is proven beyond doubt that you're for real. Everyone is in some sort of need. I'm sure no one has money to throw away.

Hmm what's all this now?
Even if you're for real I wonder what makes you think people have money to give away.
Any small thing someone will just open a thread soliciting funds as if it's not the same hardship that all Nigerians are facing.
With una fake fake story. Making it hard for real people to get help.
Me self need money. Will you donate for me?

Now answer the question. Did you or didn't you post a recent 'unpregnant' picture?

Good evening from over here.

Well I can't even say for sure if your interpretation is what she meant. Hard to understand she is.
shaybebaby:
She/he is saying when criticising, let's focus on the actions not the individuals.
For example, you admonish a child and say "you are naughty". That is telling the child, EVERYTHING about you is naughty. In such an instance, it is easy to internalize such message which in turn can affect the child's perception of his/herself (using a child here but it applies to humans).
Now changing the words slightly makes a world of difference, " YOUR BEHAVIOUR is naughty". That focuses on the action without attacking the person.
Implying that a change in behaviour is required not a change to become different person.
Good morning Coco. Hope the little one and you are good.

Lmao at this thread and the comments.

Tpiah wetin? Are you for or against grin
Most black men are what?

tpiah01:
huh
Why exactly is teebiils getting no empathy here but is being dumped on by all and sundry? huh
What exactly is his offence, is it being on drugs, having children with multiple women and baby mamas, marrying/dating rich women, being with women richer than him, being depressed, being broke, being irresponsible (not contributing financially to his kids' upbringing even though their mothers are richer than him), etc etc.
A situation which almost every other black male can identify with
(not to mention Nigerian celebrities and the baby mama culture), not even counting the black males in jail who cant physically be present to do whatever is required of them as fathers.
Not holding brief for teebiils in any way, but this is my point about someone needing assistance with mental health issues among other things and all most nlers/Nigerians can do is attack him further.
Tiwa is still on top of her game and even doing a video as we speak, is it all the world loves a winner or what.
Lord have mercy, imbalance everywhere.
But I dont think it's right to hold teebiil accountable for every male who has ever had issues with or disappointed a female, particularly in the black or Nigerian community.
Try to hate the behaviour, not the person per se.
Family › Re: See How This Owerri Lady Exposed & Humiliated Her Husband Who Abused Her(pics) by cococandy(f): 7:03pm On May 03, 2016
All too true
Onegai:
M'dear...

Domestic Violence is NOT ABOUT ANGER, it is about CONTROL. They are not hitting you because they are angry, they are beating you up because they have lost control and they feel that is the best way to exert it back upon you.

One lady commented on one of these blogs that her husband would punch her for replying him so her pastor advised her to keep quiet and walk away. The next fight happened and she kept shut and walked away rather than exchange words. Her husband picked a chair and smashed it on her back, screaming "how dare you ignore me". Even in silence, the abuser will slap you and say you were using your silence to mock him (I've seen it happen and the next thing you know, the victim tried to leave the room and she was knocked down and being choked whilst we tried to save her). And once the victim of Domestic Violence tries to leave, the abuser immediately does his best to make her stay: either with apologies or threats.

If it were truly about Anger, the abuser would be beating up even a stranger over a trivial matter. But we know that does not happen often. If it were truly about disliking bad habits or being tired of the victim, the abuser would be relieved when the victim leaves. But we know that the abuser tends to fight against that happening. We see, time and time again, that the abuser is described as a "nice guy" outside the family unit and we erroneously think that perhaps it is the victim's fault. Nope.

Abusive people are manipulative and will do all they can to isolate their victim against the world. All in a bid to control them even more and when they cannot control their victim, resort to violence.

Domestic Violence is never about Anger, it is about Control.

Their women are also depressed in addition to being suppressed and oppressed.
If they'll stop holding too tightly to rigid gender expectations, then maybe they'll reduce the stress they put on themselves.

Family › Re: Nigerian Men Can't Handle Successful Wives, But Can The Women Handle Success? by cococandy(f): 5:24am On May 03, 2016
onerandomchick:
thought-provoking article on StyleVitae and thought to share it here following the whole Tiwa Savage brouhaha lately. I am also sure there are lots of women going through similar challenges, either in their relationships and marriages. Being the lady footing the house bills isn’t something every woman prays for, but it happens sometimes, and when it does, things shouldn’t change. Marriage is a partnership, where the two individuals come together as one, so ego, pride should be set apart and focus on love.

Read the article below

Can Nigerian women actually handle success?

My answer: I’m not so sure. Ever so often we get epistles about the inability of Nigerian men to handle successful wives. This past week, it was even more pronounced. While we have examples of how this is true to a very large extent, what’s often overlooked is that sometimes the women are the ones who can’t handle their success.

The Nigerian man has been brought up to believe he’s the sole provider and that his ego and pride are based on how much he can provide. Therefore it isn’t a surprise when he becomes insecure because his wife is “out-providing” him. The Nigerian man needs to unlearn these; he needs to put his ego aside and face what’s important. But our society is patriarchal and for the foreseeable future, that ego will be massaged because the existing societal architecture has provided a framework for him to remain the sole provider.

Read more https://onerandomchick.com/2016/05/02/nigerian-men-cant-handle-successful-wives-but-can-nigerian-women-handle-success/
what bollocks. Which existing societal architecture? The one where even when both parents work, they still struggle to make ends meet. Pls where in Nigeria among the teeming millions of higher, middle and lower working class class families is the man the sole provider? Una no dey tire for all these lies? People just come online and type anything without looking around them first to asses the true situation of things before making claims.
Even when the economy was okay, only a fraction of the population had families with one sole provider let alone now. And FYI there's also increasing number of sole female breadwinners.
Get your facts right.

Jahblessme, thanks for your kind words. I'm a naturally curious person, I love learning for the joy of it and I like seeing kids do the same. Try and make time for these moments with your kid. It's a deliberate choice. One of my brothers always say "you need money to buy stuff, not to do things". In Nigeria, there are a lot of affordable safe things to do but people don't do it because they think that don't have time. For example, I've always picked seashells from childhood. I decided to do it with my baby and nephews and niece and we want to the (very dirty) beach in Lagos and got some, cleaned it and I gave them some to paint. We also played in the waves and I tried to teach a little about Tidal waves and how the moon affects the waves (They now say "the sun and the moon aren't friends so they don't hang out but the moon and the waves are friends so the waves come out stronger when the moon is out"wink. Little moments like that. Try and make time for those. Your toddler would love seashells and love playing cooking with flowers. I know because I did. And you need calming-down time.

Babies R Us just encourages Consumer greed, when I went shopping, I nearly bought the whole store but one of my brothers went with me and he kept asking "do you need all this crap, did you not grow up normal without the fancy $150 diaper bag and $200 Graco Playard?" The issue with a store like that is that's it's so easy to over-buy. Even in Nigeria, when you go to Balogun, once you enter the children's section, they will sell you special baby plate set for N2500. Literally a plastic plate and 2 plastic spoons. And don't even get me started on the toys at Babies R Us: I fell like a maga and got a Sophie the Giraffe. It got lost at a wedding we attended at Radisson Blu cry $25 (N8,000) for a teething toy... cry
