Lol. I said of the pain increases na. thorpido: ^^^E never reach that stage coco.Na stage 1 she dey. Just chill Op.When the contractions come more frequently, she will be checked to see how much dilated she is.I hope you guys have your bag packed already. In the next hour or more, she will get to the more active stage. Then you can help massage her waist like cococandy said. You are at the general hospital so i'm not sure you will be allowed into the labour ward. Hold enough cash cos you might be asked to pay some money/buy some things. Wish your wife safe delivery.
By the way,you don't need to call anybody except your mama na nurse. It's usually after the placenta is out that the calls should be made. |

Have you considered that it could be not because Igbo women are raised to swallow shyt in the name of marriage but Maybe just maybe Igbo men are more egalitarian as husbands. Maybe they are taught better to respect their wives and families. I agree that adultery, divorce and kids outside wedlock is highly frowned upon among my people. But it is not always only women that are blamed when they do such. Not to toot the horn of my people I've noticed men from other tribes tend to have that I'm-the-lord-I-can-do-what-I-want attitude than Igbo men. Of course bad eggs abound in millions. And Igbo traditions vary from state to state. Enugu, IMO, anambra etc. and even within states there are differences. So maybe some places might be the way you described (can't say what I don't totally know) but in my neck of the woods, women are bold and outspoken. I can tell you the things I don't like about some traditional expectations from women in my side of igboland but shutting up and doing 'Ruth abokoku' in the face of utter disrespect is not one of them. faustinalove: Babe, thats how it is. How many igbo women hav u heard filing for divorce? Are u saying that all igbo marriages are perfect? U will hardly hear of an igbo woman filing for divorce unlike d yoruba women. Even d least educated yoruba woman knows her right as a woman. They arent scared of their husbands cos they know they can always remarry easily..but its different with our igbo women. |

This has got to be the joke of the year. faustinalove: Most igbo women cant 'face' their husbands. Most igbo women were brought up with d idea of never talking back to their husbands even when the husband is d one at fault..the husband is seen as d 'boss' who u cant just talk to. Even if he is cheating, u just have to bear it without any complain and keep 'praying' for him to change. Even when some igbo husbands infect their faithful igbo wives with STDs, the wives keep treating d STDs without even complaining. U dare not complain. Thats y a lot of igbo women are suffering and unhappy in their marriages but dare not leave d marriage no matter what the husband does...cos even if d woman leaves her husband, she will hardly get another igbo man who will marry her, so she has no option than to remain in such marriage. igbo men hardly marry 'second hand' women unlike yoruba men who can marry a woman who has married even more than four husbands in d past..igbo men know this 'fact' and use it to their advantage..the type of igbo men who doesnt act like d typical bossy igbo man when it comes to women are those who grew up in d south west, cos they tend to be more enlightened than d 'typical' igbo man who was born/grew up in d east and probably does business outside d east.. |

tron23: Are women only affected by emotional abuse? What of men that are always abused, insulted, nagged and made to feel worthless because they have financial difficulties at the moment. I believe that our Society still has a long way to go, people must learn (male and female) to identify abusive relationships, friendships, marriages and exit them immediately. I once heard a renowned Pastor encourage a lady to return to her husband who was beating her, abusing her and he justified his action by saying God doesn't like divorce. What of murder? Is it when someone dies that we will react? These days many men are made to feel worthless and insignificant by their wives just because they are low on cash at the moment. I know people who once they stepped out of abusive relationships/ marriages, they blossomed. We need to change our mind sets and set boundaries. I personally DONOT allow anyone talk to me any how because I value my mental well being, and neither should you reading this. If the last time you smiled in your relationship was 2 years ago, my brother and sister its time to re-evaluate things.
My parting shot: Everyone should take proper care of their mental well being. |

Nobody said you deserved to be beaten. Just own up your own wrong doing. Let's start from there. Charlieubochi: God bless you my brother. I'm shocked at some people's Comments. People saying I was at fault for not asking for permission even after I stated that I did are not very smart. How can you say anybody created by God deserves to be beaten just because he didn't come to work on Saturday which isn't even compulsory because it's calculated as overtime. The people accusing me have zero self esteem and don't understand basic human rights. |
Career › Re: How I Was Assaulted By My Lebanese Boss Yesterday Morning by cococandy(f): 3:46pm On Feb 24, 2016 |
Leave him. Common sense is not common after all MRBrownJ: you are the one who is not very smart.... your manager tells you that he cannot grant you the day off on such a short notice, and that you have to take the issue with the MD, and YOU decided not to listen to your manager and instead "disappear". how difficult is this to understand?! who granted you the right to not come to work? it sure wasnt your workshop manager.
whether it is calculated as overtime or not is irrelevant here. if your contract stipulates that you have to work on saturdays, then thats it. blame only yourself for signing that contract. why do you change your story as you go along? wasnt it you who wrote the following:
I am a BSc degree holder in accounting and I am being paid #30,000 plus I have to work on Saturdays too. |

Acidosis: You're a traditional man, so reserve your story and perception to a traditional setting. How many wives can proudly decide to live in a traditional setting, where people drink from clay pots instead of a refrigerator?
How many women can relocate to the village so the man can provide 100%?
OP has lost touch with the modern day reality. Keep your traditional thoughts to yourself where you can lock your wife in the house while you go out to fetch firewood and cocoyam. iykedare: Please educate these other brainless bimbos. These ones sway between traditional and modern when it suits them. When they tell you to accord equal respect to your wife as she does you and engage in home keeping as much as she does, you'll start yelling blue murder. Now you don't want to be traditional and uphold your 'African values'? Lol. |

Tell me about it. I'm quite wary of those kinds of men. They sound like they want to be generous and caring but the truth is just that it's a control thing. This part in quote says it all. A woman should reserve the right to quit her job to care for her kids. The kind of husband that won't even consider if that's what you want for yourself or not. Mtchew. |

I informed the workshop manager that my friend would be wedding the following day(Saturday). He said I should go directly to the MD of the company a dental request for permission myself. I said no, that nobody goes directly to him knowing his very bad attitude and lack of respect for everyone and besides he's the MD and shouldn't be bothered by such trivial issues. So I proceeded to go to the wedding on that Saturday thinking my request had been granted or at the most I would be marked absent on that day. I'm sorry OP you're at fault. I wonder how you can't see that. You were informed to meet the MD for permission to skip work and you didn't. Really? Who does that? It means you don't take your job seriously. He's was right to be mad at you. He was wrong though to have hit you first. And that he might have to pay for if your father is a good lawyer. But truthfully, you behaved in an unserious and nonchalant manner about your job and deserve to be sacked if he so desires. Make use of your senses next time. You're no longer a child. |
