My aunt prayed to marry a man whose mother is dead and she did marry one. her reasons was that she saw how her mom (my grand ma) treated her daughters in law terribly and she wouldn't want that. on the other hand, I love the inspiring stories i read here on wonderful MIL's and i pray to God that i would have a wonderful MIL who would treat me like her daughter despite the past experiences i had. It depends on the individual though like someone said, if you are a good person you are good, MIL or DIL. I for sure know that my mother would be a bad MIL to her future daughters in-law, she is insatiable. and i just hope my brothers stand up for their wives when the time comes because honestly i feel sorry for them already.

True. Plus I have a great mother-in-law, my Lady and mum get along swimmingly and the percentage of bad MILs to good in the circle of people I find myself in is much smaller. I'v been following this thread since it began and I can not relate at all

Hi everyone. I'm really excited this evening. I did a second ultrasound today to know my babies' sexes. Both babies were very active, but baby A was more active. He gave us a very clear view of his genitals. Baby B didn't let us see. I'm just praying it's a girl. But any one it is, I'm too grateful to complain.

Ehen! During our prenatal classes today we discussed among other things, superstitious beliefs we've heard regarding pregnancy. That led to our matron saying the two factors that determines who a baby gets to resemble are, genetics and mechanical factor. The mechanical factor she said is, a baby can look like that one person its' mom spends most times looking at during her pregnancy. Some of us asked her how possible can that be. She said it's very possible. And some other women agreed with her. She even sited an example of a black woman married to a black man who gave birth to a baby with all the features of a white child. From it's hair, complexion, eye color et al. When she was asked how come her baby had all those features, she said it was because she stared every day at a photograph of a white man on her office desk. All DNA tests proved that the woman and her husband were the real parents.

So now my question is how possible is this? Does any woman in the house have a first hand experience of it?

I think they make up this phrase or watch alot of nollywood movies.
Growing up I never heard any one say this words. Who would say such when they've never met their mother in law.its just ridiculous.

this topic is an African problem. I remember when i was in secondary school, some girls always pray that their mil is dead before they marry, then i do pray for God to meet her alive and she should be my other mum, God does answers prayers.

mil is very nice and straight forward, she is very kind as she loves her son like kilode, that love is transferred to me. she was with me in my first pregnancy a month before i delivered. after i put to bed, 6 weeks, she washed baby and my clothes, cooked for me and makes sure i sleep well. she is God sent.
she always tells me how nice her mil was to her.
I think she is just a good woman cos thats exactly how she is to her other son's wife too. she is a genius. and i always try to make her happy.

ost of these wicked women also had their share of wickedness and they are transfering the agression.
wish all of those with wicked and mean mil will also not turn out to be mean when the time comes.

When I put d first batter into the oil, it came out shapeless and I started laughing at my self lol, I re-strategised and used my two first fingers to press it out and dats wat we got. I added fresh pepper and onion.

Emefiele isn't the problem here. The cbn governor cannot unilaterally devalue the currency and buhari has said he will not devalue it .so the cbn gov is just doing all he can do to rectify a situation which he can't help. There is no economic policy or frame work on ground. The president has spent over 2months out of the 8 months he has been in power outside Nigeria touring all over. The finance minister is a rookie ,and even if she has any wonderful ideas ,she possibly is scared of saying or carrying them out in other not to be seen as been disloyal or too forward. Look at all the ministers non of them is performing, amaechi goes to the airport every morning to take pictures as if that is where is office is. There is something terribly wrong with this government and it seems no body wants to ho beyond a particular boundary or line
