Joebie, I have been an advocate that all national team salaries including coaches, players and other coaching staff shouldn't come through NFF anymore

There should be a separate budget for it. It shouldn't even come under the sports ministry. Like, RMAFC should allocate a portion of
Budget to paying coaches straight from the executive.

My advice has some ripple effects:

1) You would see football administrators no longer fight tooth and nail for positions in the NFF. After all, no coach salary to chop

2) These coaches are seen as civil servants and are liable to face Nigerian law for infarctions against our football. As a coach, of you're caught taking bribe, then EFCC/ICPC can investigate you because technically, you're a civil servant. Also, you should be willing to submit yourself to periodic audit every 3 months. Same law applied to player bonuses

3) A law that makes owing coach salary a criminal offence liable to extended prison time would then be put in place because there's no reason to owe them anymore sin e their salaries are now budgeted for anymore. Same for player match bonuses.

One.more thing, NFF function ought to be pure administrative and not fiscal. Times have shown that they can't be trusted and are dishonest with money.

See my solution can work if duly implemented.

Your takes..
your point is good but...

NFF and Coaches are protected by FIFA...

so any government interference will likely result in FIFA ban...

Add distractions to it. Why do we always have distractions? Our failures are intrinsically linked to our coaching/administrators. Have a good working system first before you start questioning the professionalism of players.

Modified
A coach who is always owed is expected to perform at optimum level. Rohr don spoil una
Our failures are linked to not picking the right players or not subbing off players and players that don't take their chances...

Moses Simon had a 1 on 1 chance against Ghana and he shot straight at the GK...

Osimhen was also struggling to stay onside throughout both legs which is something he seems to have been working on and correcting and the goal he scored was offside...

If Simon had better finishing or wasn't even picked at all we could have qualified...

if Osimhen had the intelligence in April that he currently seems to have in November to stay onside against Ghana then his goal would have counted and we would have also qualified...

In summary...
It was the Coach, Assistant coaches and coaching staff and the players themselves failed the SE... not the Administrators

Yes but we'll also need selfless and incorruptible administrators too

I have always harped on the need to get 3 solid GKs

I'm sorry to say this but Uzoho and that model guy will kot even make it to Morocco's bench

They are unreliable and have hecome too comfortable
the SE needs selfless players...

you can't put selfless and incorruptible in the same sentence when talking about government employees because its impossible for most of them...

Very true but I think he got frustrated at U20 level and reportedly his boys lost out then because of money wahala with the FA. That said, senior football isn't U17 where all that nonsense from the NFF should continue. I just hope if he gets the job he won't be frustrated like they did to Siasia, Keshi and Oliseh.
A Nigerian will always frustrate another Nigerian... so don't hope they won't frustrate him because you yourself already knows they will frustrate him... Dennis frustrated the other SE players.. Oliseh frustrated Enyeama.. e.t.c

We have to hold our administrators responsible. We keep giving these leaders easy passes. This is the same problem we are having in government. Enough is enough
Football is not government politics...

Football is about talent, discipline and stamina...

Morocco have a talented goalkeeper and that GK has been their hero in this tournament... the administrators have to look for a talented goalkeeper and punish indiscipline players like Emmanuel Dennis and encourage discipline..

And next time if Nigeria does not do it we have to support every Sub Saharan African country. It’s a collective image we have to protect.
Nigeria cannot do it until the players play solely for personal achievement...

Everytime Nigeria qualifies for the World Cup and reach at least the Round of 16 or even win 1 match then they start complaining of match bonus and they have not been paid then they go on to lose their next match...

NFF will continue to owe and withhold the players match bonuses so unless a private firm gives them bonuses then if they qualify for the next world cup in 2026 they will also complain that they have not been paid then they will crash out..

If Emmanuel Dennis gets invited again after his shameful then the SE will never ever reach the quarter finals of the world cup..

There is a sense of identity probity and zero tolerance for corruption.

These guys chose Morocco Because they felt included and not excluded.
komekn:
I understand what you are saying but think there are very difficult questions without clear cut answers. For instance;

What's the unit of measurement for passion, commitment, loyalty belief and humility. These are Very subjective and perceptive based deductions open to abuse.

What creates identity a sense of belonging and inclusion that creates cohesiveness loyalty and undying commitment.

In my limited experience all these multi dimensional factors created outside primarily of the group, team.

Leaders inspire and motivates, builds up and is not just honest but seen to be honest fair and of unquestionable integrity.

Just as at our political level there has been wide spread comprehensive failure of leadership, where nepotism, tribalism, religious discrimination and mediocrity thrive. With a very big dose of endemic institutionalised corruption. That characteristic is seen in every government public institution , why should the NFF be different.

Go to Morocco and it's close to being a European nation by infrastructure both physical and socio -ecomomic political . These things impact on everything they do including Thier football.

Until we deal with out multi faceted cancers ,we will struggle to replicate what Morocco had done.
you have come again with your nonsense talks...

even though they were born outside Morocco they see themselves first as Moroccans not as their nation of birth and unlike you and other foreign born Nigerians that's always badmouthing and denigrating anything Nigeria... they do not badmouth and denigrate their country...

the major thing wrong with the SE is the GoalKeeper position... the other things wrong with the SE is player discipline and player selection..

the SE players don't drop deep to defend and even the strikers don't drop deep to the midfield and also drop to the defense...

Once Morocco is not in possession all their players drop deep to defend and that's something this current SE does not do and does not train itself to do...

You're right.. he and other young players also needs to be groomed into the SE by playing at least 15 - 30 mins... most of the people in the current SE will be at least 3 years older in 4 years time and some of them won't have the same stamina they have in 2022..

This boy has the attribute missing in our midfield. He is the missing piece. I read an analysis about him and watch his highlights. The teen is a box to box that can dribble, pass, mark, run and score. A mould of both Yaya and Essien. An exciting talent indeed!
If he can improve his decision making he will be a force to rekon with in world football.
You know very well that this Eletu guy won't make his debut for the SE until he is at least 24 years old...
The SE doesn't play teenagers and he may end up representing Italy.

Let me answer for Morocco:
Spain did absolutely nothing. They invented a style of football where you pass the ball from side to side and forget about scoring goals.
Spain don't pass the ball from side to side... they pass diagonally from side to side..

that way the passing goes forward diagonally towards the opponents goal and the players stand in a diagonal line from each other which makes it easier to make triangular passes because standing in a diagonal line automatically makes each player to have at least 2 passing options at all times..

Stay between the line and delay Foden so your teammates can recover....
they're all playing as if they're over 33 years old...

they're not holding the defense line sometimes only one defender at the back... very bad defending from Senegal...

I expected them to at worst pack the bus and drag the match to penalties..

Doesn't matter. Given our tactical malaise, we would've underperformed. Better to stay home than embarass ourselves. Let's aim to get it right for 2026.
The only reason SE will underperform is the fact that SE does not cross the ball and won't select players that can cross..

The goal Aboubakar scored against Brazil is an impossible task for the SE.

If it was SE The winger will try to dribble the Brazilian defenders then end up passing back to defense.

All those we are obsessed with this discriminatory quasi- tribalism creating division ➗ where there ar none, instituting animosity and bigoted exclusion where there is none.

How many of the Moroccan players where born and brought up outside of Morocco as well as emanated from Europe top football academy and Leagues.

They simply dont have this divisive and retrogressive discourse of FB ( foreighn born) vs Nigerian born that impacts team selection.

But in addition players who were in high demand by European nations opted to play first for Morocco. Players like Ziyech, Hakimi Mouh, felt such a sense of belonging and welcoming , they chose Morroco first, but WHY ❓

WHAT is Morocco doing differently that creates such brotherly COHESION ❓❓

It's been like this for quite some time, l remember Adel Taarabt one of the most naturally gifted players I've seen. He could ha be played for England or France but chose Morocco first.

There are many things we can learn from Morocco, digression : Morocco sells electricity to the UK renewable clean energy from Solar generation in the SAHARA.

It is very foolish and hypocritical of you to ask such question..

Not every football freestyler will make it in the actual world of football as a pro.

Ever heard of the F2Freestylers? Here is their YT channel... https://youtube.com/@thef2

Very popular but before they became world renowned for their skills and tricks as freestylers, they couldn't cut it professionally.

So to accommodate these lots, there is a governing body globally for freestylers like this kid called the World Freestyle Football Association.

They organise Street Freestyle Competitions. And there are lots of similar competitions not directly organised by the WFFA.

My point... if this kid in the clip really wanna play the game professionally then ofcos he would need more than these. Much more infact in addition to what you already mentioned.... if not, he would do well following his Freestyle path.
His young and can be trained to be a professional footballer..

Those F2 guys probably didn't want to be playing in the lower leagues.. I don't know anything about them. With the infrastructure they have access to they should at worst be playing in the lower leagues.

I think you really lack knowledge, understanding and insight. That proposition is essentially nonsensical.

I want you to compare the level of coaching, support staff (sports science) not, defensive and offensive specialist coaching staff add that to the high quality of even world class managers that some of our players are exposed to for many seasons.

And now tell me what Salisu, Eguavon and co are going to teach them in two weeks compared to Thier clubs.

Remember you said, A LOT OF THINGS.
Players in the national team change from time to time... so it can be like going to a new club every international break so the coach has to teach his players to get to know each other and work together...

In Nigeria's case.. I don't think they interact that much or even train on formation, corners, free-kicks, penalties e.t.c and that's because the arrogant behavior of Emmanuel Dennis towards the other players should have been noticed off the pitch..

and that behavior also shows that NFF thinks like you... just gather players from what you call the "top leagues" and put them together and expect a magical result without teaching them a lot of things...

I won't be surprised if you are an NFF staff or one of the people NFF listens to for advise because the way you comment only someone that's exhibits Emmanuel Dennis level of arrogance can make such comments..
