Crime › Re: Nigerian Man Arrested In India For Duping Indian Woman Of N9.6m by CodeTemplar: 11:43am On May 23, 2023 |
omohayek: In your tribalistic mind, giving up less than $700k in a civil forfeiture case - an entirely non-criminal process - is worse than being convicted of defrauding hundreds of millions, and merely being the (alleged, not proven) recipient of cash someone else criminally obtained makes one not merely, at best, a money launderer, but the equivalent of Pablo Escobar! Funnier still, this supposed "Escobar" was traveling freely to the USA and receiving the American ambassador at his personal residence even as a private citizen, indicating you and your ilk are in possession of incriminating evidence unavailable to the American government. If so, why are you wasting time shouting "Escobar" up and down on this website, instead of sharing your intel with the DEA?
You guys certainly can't be faulted for lack of imagination, even if it is clearly at the cost of your grasp of reality and your sanity.
Sure, if you say so - and I am the Emperor of Mexico! As if anyone who wasn't Igbo would be interested in deflecting a story about yet another Igbo criminal - in a seemingly endless line of Igbo criminals - being nabbed in India, by dragging the name of a Yoruba fraudster into the discussion. Deny it all you like, it's clear as day what you are and why you made your ridiculous comment. It is simply a fact that no Yoruba fraudster comes even close to the most audacious Igbo swindlers. epistle. The man is corrupt. |

Business › Re: Is Lagos The Best Place For Dangote Refinery? by CodeTemplar: 11:17am On May 23, 2023 |
Mrfeel: How about the environmental pollution it will cause in Lagos , is lagos not too small and crowded for such a big refinery?
I read: Oil refineries emit large amounts of air pollutants such as sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, and particulate matter. These pollutants can cause respiratory problems, including asthma, and increase the risk of heart disease and lung cancer etc i think lagos is too small and crowded for such a big refinery No, it is Maiduguri.. |

Lagosians are not collecting deve but the place is still developing unlike the inventors of deve.
Instead they have a mafia system to milk the numbers since that's what they have. |

iammo: It's called leveraging... Dangote leverage his networth to get loan from local banks , CBN made the loan available in Dollars.. what he makes from Cement and other ventures can't execute the refinery contract fast enough They should give SMEs same privilege too. Everyone cannot run on petrol. |

Politics › Re: Oil In Niger Delta, Refinery In SW by CodeTemplar: 8:14am On May 23, 2023 |
Better than Oil in ND and refinery in the Kaduna, especially when it is govt owned. Dangote is a private owned refinery and can decide to locate his in Ghana. |

iammo:

Twisting words of CBN Governor would do you no good
Local banks facilitated most of the loan and the forex came through CBN as the standard practice... Everyone gets their forex through CBN or Black market
Not like CBN loaned Dangote out of our National reserve
Dangote Fertilizer, Dangote Cement all this company export product and bring in forex to CBN all this while
. what is the point submitting Dangote earned forex to CBN and then going to access forex from CBN? Except CBN is Dangote's private bank, it makes no sense. Same way regular citizens have dollar account and keep their forex there is how Dangote has his. Something is fishy if the OP is true. |

[quote author=ryloy post=123295016] if there was no lekki free trade zone the refinery wouldn't have been in place abi? You should know when a smart business man is trying to massage the ego of power drunk and excitable president elect.
Isn't it the same Tinubu that supervised the transformation of Lagos into a disproportionately taxed extortion-trade zone again?

obailala: If crude is sold to Dangote at a rate lower than the international market price, that's the same thing as SUBSIDY cos the government would be sacrificing revenue to make petrol cheap.
The only thing that can really make petrol cheaper now is the exchange rate. If the dollar drops down to N150, then petrol may sell for N100 or less (if govt tightens the noose on Dangote to not inflate his profits). If the dollar remains at N750, petrol prices would remain high except govt subsidizes. sadly the govt is trying to leave the masses to suffer for a weakened Naira by removing subsidy and continuing the wasteful governance instead of taking it as a challenge and trying to strengthen the Naira. |
