Politics › Re: Matawalle Rejects Emefiele’s 'Study Leave', Says He Must Give Account To Tinubu by CodeTemplar: 11:41am On May 16, 2023
omohayek:
Contrary to what the Emefiele apologists would like you to believe, he is not in fact at the beck and call of Buhari. The CBN is statutorily independent: once Buhari appointed Emefiele to a second term, he lost any real control over what Emefiele could or should do. As such, any decision by Emefiele to go along with Buhari's preferences would simply have been due to a lack of backbone on Emefiele's part, not because the law compelled him to do so.

https://businessday.ng/news/legal-business/article/what-does-the-cbns-independence-really-mean/

It is quite telling that so many can be found trying to shift blame from Emefiele onto Buhari despite all of the above. Even more telling is that every single one of them happens to share the same ethnicity as the feckless CBN governor who has single-handedly done more damage to the Nigerian economy than even the utterly useless Buhari. Worse yet, these are the very same people who make a big show of supporting the mediocre Peter Obi because they value "competence", even as they rally round a kinsman who has been the most spectacularly incompetent person to hold high office in Nigeria for the last 30 years. They are quick to accuse others of tribalism, yet exemplify it in their inability to acknowledge any flaws whatsoever in their own ranks.
stop talking like a pained partisan character always. The economy is not a game of chess or monopoly you adjust indices by hand. The economy is a system(a complex one) with many complex interconnected subsystems whose cycle of cause and corresponding effect are diverse.
Take agriculture and security as an example. A group of bandits in Zamfara or Katsina hold rice farmers to ransom and forcefully collect N30 million before allowing them to harvest their produce. The affected farmers go to their associations(trade or market unions) and lay this complain which leads to increase in prices to accommodate rent seeking terrorists or bandits as APC under Buhari love to call them. This makes the final rice produce more expensive and less attractive in international market if it ever makes it there. As a result, forex that could have been earned isn't earned and everybody in that association of rice farmers continue to depend on FG through CBN and Emefiele for forex to import machinery, equipment, spare parts and bring in expatriates.
In all of this, whose fault is it that we lack forex and therefore foreign currency is going up against the naira. Is it Emefiele or those in charge of security?

You guys blinded by partisan support easily forget the central role the government under your darling party plays in economy and believe it is one Emefiele putting on suit and tie and trying to channel limited forex towards the most pressing needs, is the problem. It is pathetic how your thinking cap suddenly began to evade you Gbawe after APC got power.
This pattern is replicated across multiple sectors leading to a weak system yet you guys demand strong currency from an obviously weak mono economy just because of the tribe of the central bank governor and his own involvement in partisan politics.

I blame him(emefiele) for buying that APC ticket wholly but that doesn't mean I will be blinded too to the extent you are, and not see beyond partisan interests.

Please stop talking like a defender of criminality. Yes Matawalle may have his own case to answer but this does not mean he cannot give his opinion on Emefiele's actions which are a monumental disgrace I don't think has been seen anywhere in the world in recent memory.

Emefiele undermined the integrity of the entire monetary system of Nigeria. Do you understand what that means and how seriously such is taken worldwide?

No greater crime than that at national level because any country with a rogue central bank and saboteur central bank Governor is doomed to implode 100%.

Emefiele, working for very selfish and irresponsible people, supervised the monumental loss of value of Naira against the major trading currencies of the world destroying so many small to medium businesses to the unspeakable detriment of Nigeria.

Creating SMEs, small to medium size enterprises, is always the aim of most nations because they are the lifeblood of the economies of many developed Countries. Emefiele directly worked to kill and frustrate our own SME sector. He is an evil and thoughtless rogue without any conscience or goodness in him.

Emefiele must be punished and seen to be punished very severely. It is a measure of how bigoted and casually criminal Nigerians have become that even one Nigerian can defend Emefiele never mind many who will begin senseless 'whataboutism' over his unforgiveable actions as you are doing here.

Never forget Emefiele's criminal actions put an entire nation in serious and grave trouble. Not one State alone.
You are not thinking straight or you are being plainly mischievous. Dollar to Naira exchange answers to demand and supply, and while I am no fan of Emefiele, I know he cannot force dollar rate down. He doesn't produce dollar.

What can the Buhari administration point at that it has achieve sef?

The only area I will score Buhari high is in the 2023 Presidential Election

Buhari has totally failed Nigerians.

Power supply is still poor, Insecurity have gotten out of hand, cost of living have skyrocket, inflation rate is very high etc and you will see Buhari doing as if everything is fine.
He failed in election too. If he didn't why is USA the one punishing election derailers and not the bandit loving cow rearer?

Demonic government.

How much do they waste on frivolities? What about leakages and corruption? It is the only subsidy the poor man in the village enjoys they are after since corruption is too important to be touched. Wastage must be maintained. Leakages are inevitable. Only subsidy is useless.

Given how many apprentices Tinubu seems to have in Asian prisons, I hope you'll agree that Tinubu is far from being an Igbo-hater. To the contrary, he loves Igbos so much he trusts them exclusively over his fellow Yorubas when it comes to Asian drug trafficking. Instead of being Amoda Yekini Ogunlere from Iragbiji, perhaps Tinubu is actually Arinze Emeke Chukwudi from Abakaliki!

Lady Tells Husband She's No Longer In Love After He Sponsored Her Education In UK

A Nigerian lawyer has narrated how a lady told her husband she's no longer in love after he sponsored her nursing education in the U.K, IGBERETV has learnt.

According to @BolanleCole, the lady said she doesn't want to be in a marriage where there is no love even though her husband catered for her needs and that of her family.
