Wealth is a relative term given the transient nature of money. Dangote made trillions of Naira and kept it locally as Naira. When Naira lost value by jumping from around N170/USD in 2014 to around N360/USD in early 2016, whatever Dangote had effectively lost value, reducing his wealth in dollars by over 50%. The point is money acquired and stored as liquid cash is open to a free fall in value. The gates family have done well by impacting lives almost immediately with their wealth. they have little to fear for inflation. This is the way to go.

Goodluck Jonathan had the opportunity to change Nigeria when oil was $100 dollars a barrel. He could have fixed the refineries and built additional ones.

That is why Buhari was voted for in 2015 to bring about change and reduce corruption. Buhari has turned out to be more corrupt than than his predecessor.
