Politics › Re: An Argument For The Economic Viability Of Alaigbo by Collyweed: 3:07pm On May 25, 2021 |
Igboid: Look at the advantages:
1.We would have an income to start off the country with, thanks to our onshore oil Wells that Nigerians forgot to carve into Delta or Rivers State because those places were not oil producing as of 1970. It was God who fought for us.
2. With more intense exploration in Anambra: Ogbaru, Anambra East, Anambra West, Ayamelum and even Ihiala. Abia: Ugwunagbo, Ukwa West, Ukwa West. Imo: ,Oguta,Ohaji/Egbema we would discover more oil Wells to offset any deficit decrease in allocations we might temporary encounter.
3. With our vast undeveloped huge natural gas reserves in Imo, Anambra and Abia fully developed, our income and forex would quadruple. Remember Natural gas being a green energy and not crude oil is the future.
4. A fully functional international airport. Our people being a well travelled people with embassies and consulates of all countries of the world opening branches in ENUGU our capital City. Our revenue generated can only go up.
5. A massive diaspora population who would send funds in Mass at home out of patriotism and work with the Igbo government to transfer skill back home, our ceiling should be very high.
6. Fulanis routed and sent out of our forests. We can leverage on first class diaspora experience and expertise to build a high tech agricultural system that would not only ensure food security for us, but also yield forex.
7. A rapid rise in real estate in Alaigbo to accommodate our people who would return home from across all parts of Nigeria. Nwanne, there is no point in talking about this here, maka ndi anya ufu.
In any case Chukwu ekwela ka we would have to depend on primary resources alone to build Alaigbo. Actually, the less we have the better, to better avoid another "resource curse" situation. We need to avoid another heterogeneous mish-mash cursed by a wasting resource by all means. |

QuotaSystem: N289 billion Non-oil revenue from Agriculture is much, much more than the N16.75 billion that the entire SE contributed to our oil revenue in 2020.
In fact the $240 million (N15.2b) that tanned leather from Fulani herdsmen and other northerners form the core north generated for Nigeria, is almost 10X the total SE contribution to oil revenue in 2020. Can you debate this? Lol.
You can keep shifting the goal post but the PARASITES have been clearly established and the best part of all this is....
Numbers Don't Lie You should check your numbers again ( unless you’re obfuscating intentionally). The N982Bilion was for December, not the entire year. Meanwhile, you’re comparing this with FAAC allocation for the entire year. |

blues234: I dof my hat to the sagacity of the Fulas. I listened to Malami's interview on Channels and I was wowed, not because he was saying the truth, but his conviction and manner of delivery is excellent on the per. Compared it to a southern politician defending a course, in the interest of the south and then you will see the difference. Now, lets move a little bit closer home, ESN was formed to combat the killer herdsmen, these guys tactically withdrew, and laid a bait, which the tactless speaker fell for. Currently, the military is doing the job for them, with a shoot on sight order. We know how brutal those guys can get, especially when easterners are involved.
Few things I have noted about the Fulanis: They hardly talk, but when they do, it's concise and precise on a carefully articulated agenda or objective They are not noise makers, compare to southerners that are the loudest especially on social media. They are strategic They understand alliances and relationship, and how to court a beneficial one. They understand the machinery of state and how to employ it to their advantage. They have mastered the act of symbiotic integration, while maintaining their distinctiveness. I have seen a Fulani man, that is both fluent in Ezza and general Igbo language. It's no joke. They also have a mastery of religion as a tool of political subjugation. and so on and so on....
Honestly, their ability to conquer a large swat of land, in the medieval time, and still hold Nigeria at ransom, in this 21st century, is a witty brilliance that is worthy of study For these very summed reason, I give it to them, as the most brilliant race in Africa. What do you think? Don’t underestimate your adversary but at the same time don’t ascribe super powers to him. I can still remember that picture of Mumuharri crying profusely in 2011 after yet another failed election bid. Where was the super intelligence then? Monkey smart, na because him dey inside bush. |

Politics › Re: Actually What Is Bini About Ikwerre? by Collyweed: 8:13pm On May 10, 2021 |
owobokiri: But politics is not played like that bro.. Until they started their genocidal quest, many minorities of the north identified with the fuulani, including the majority Hausas. Many Western groups in the mould of the igboids of the east have been so subsumed to the Yorubas, you wouldn't even know they exist. You know why? Because it's both economically and politically rewarding. These two groups, the Yorubas and the fulanis, gambled with a war and managed to win trillions of dollars in oil and gas resources for their people and supporters.
It wasn't the case in the east. Infact, contrary to the gains of the minorities in the West and North, our bunch of wayward minorities suffered immensely. Adekunle killed many, Murtala finished all males he met at Asaba! They were left bare because of the results of that war and those who insisted to side with the Igbos, were hounded down to death like Obi Wali. It was brutal! We failed as a big brother and that to me is a big fail! Denying their igbo heritage in certain cases became a survival strategy. As disheartening as that is, most took such decisions because they were at the most vulnerable stage in their existence..
While it's obvious that this position has stiffened in some places now, like in ikwerre land, while also taking into cognizance the fact that the ikwerre committed crimes against humanity on the Igbos with the abandoned property saga, is it not better for the igbo to identify those "pro igbo elements" in these zone, and try to wrestle the political machinery of the south south left in the hands of "anti igbo characters" by the fuulani-yoruba combo, and hand over same back to the likes of the pro-east characters like the Obi Walis clan? Isn't that called politics? All these "slam the doors" talk is too emotional for practical politics if you ask me.. Stop the pity party! The war ended over half a century ago. They have all made their position known and abundantly too. And we have heard and we will not forget. We freaking don't need any of them. |

So to prove Igbos are Nigerians now, Igbos have to leave all countries outside Nigeria and come back to Nigeria?
Do you not see that you are not reasoning like a human being.
When people live in a place or foreign land, they are there to Making a living, pursue a career or business, and not because they want that place to be United with their homeland in an unworkable union.
Grow up. When some one say they don't want to be with you, it doesn't mean they hate you. It just means they don't consider you compatible with them. Same is applicable between Ndiigbo and Nigeria. Don’t mind the gold plated itiboribo. He claims to be afrocentric but his genetic colo-mentality makes him think that Africans shouldn’t have the freedom to form their own nations. Lazycapitalist2: We should have state police, if the people are ready to pay the high taxes needed to fund such police.
Knowing Nigerians... Here in the SE, we already pay vigilante groups who can’t legally get better weapons or arrest people. And even at that they are more effective than the police. So paying isn’t a problem. We just need law enforcement that is locally accountable. |
Politics › Re: Police Desert Streets In South East by Collyweed: 3:32pm On May 02, 2021 |
Lazycapitalist2: That's how it started in the NE....the Law enforcement was chased off, and the thugs...took over, and the people rejoiced...thinking somehting new was happening....until the thugs came for their food and their children and their wives...
The same thing is happening in the SE....the thugs have taken over, and everyone is happy. Till the thugs institute thug law....
Yes, the Police and Army have been unjust....but the new powerbrokers are going to be worse.
The main issue is that in Nigeria we are all looking for a hero that would come and put things in place...forgetting that democracy is all about doing the hard work of changing your self and your leaders.
But Nigerians prefer to look for a hero, or for Sharia in the North, or for new country in the South, yet, they won't do the hard work of demcracy. They won't vote good leaders, they support bad leaders, and mock those who refuse to be part of the chosing of bad leaders.
And they expect miracles.
Well, I don't like the police...but driving them off means inviting the rule of thug. And that is a harsh lesson people in the NE are learning. Pray the SE don't have to learn that lesson.
P.S The Bakassi Boys were initally the good guys. We know how that ended....innocent people being held in concentration-like camps. For nothing. You make a good point about possibly bad outcomes. However you solution is rather unrealistic. Police is not controlled by the states, so electing “better people” is not going to do anything. Actually there was a story about a former Governor of Anambra State, Mbadinuju who made vigorous efforts to stop these extortion centres. The police big wigs countered his efforts by mounting a check point almost right in front of the Government House. It should be a no brainer that policing should be decentralized in a country as vast and diverse as this one. We shouldn’t just have state police but also LGA and municipal police. |

ScamHunter: Your analysis is very correct, I watched a video a couple of days ago where Nnamdi Kanu was asking IWC to raise money for guns. These guys refused saying "Are we going to war?" That was in 2015 so these Igbo overseas did not see a need to raise money to fight a war. But with the Fulani massacres in Enugu and Ebonyi, you could imagine how the FG played into the hands of IPOB which didn';t have the full backing of IWC initially? Igbo all over the world are now aware of the existential threat posed by Fulani, especially when there were no serious condemnation of the massacres and nothing is done to prevent future occurrence. The SE governors are the worst leaders in our history. We have never had it this bad. I am still trying to understand how a set of leaders can be so beholden to outside interests and oblivious to the needs and aspirations of their own people. It is really painful. They created this power vacuum. Even before all the brouhaha about Herdsmen, the issue of security agents conducting themselves like an occupation force in the SE has been an ongoing one. In some cases you can literally (no exaggeration) sight on checkpoint from the previous one. NDLEA, Customs(we don’t even have an international border), Army, RRS, Civil Defence, Mopol, Police and so many more. We have been complaining about these imbeciIes for years. Yet our so called leaders have done nothing about the persistent harassment, intimidation and sometimes outright murder. When a situation becomes this intolerable then something has to give. You just provide a fertile ground for radicalization which any two bit demagogue can exploit. This has been the case throughout history, across climes and times. These governor idi0ts have been relying on scare tactics and the brutish Nigerian army for so long that they didn’t realize that there was a limit to even fear itself. How can you even call yourself a leader when you have to use an external force to suppress your own people? Previously, I blamed people supporting the ESN. However, not withstanding my reservations towards the parent organization, it is clear that our people have been patient for far too long. |
