It remains to be seen how the city will function effectively. How will people get there? Is it the same roads in VI that are currently jam packed day in day out? Even if most of the peeps who work there live there, they will not be immune to traffic congestion. And to be honest, most of the people who will work in those offices will be staying on the mainland or Lekki axis. |
How can NNPC REFUSE to give return of its share of oil for local refining and the GMD is still in office!!! |
Hope he has a pre nup! |
Ah... eventually found it 10.90 by Glory Alozie. A 10.84 by Chioma Ajunwa is un ratified, probably due to doping. |
Really impressed with her progress. She's the best Nigerian hope in sprinting at the moment by a mile! By the way, what is the African female 100m record? Searched the Internet and can't find it. Are we that poor at record keeping in Africa? |
It looks a little poorly built, but it's better than having nothing. |
Lekki gardens is starting to look like a ponzi scheme. Phase 3 has barely started and they are offering another project bear nicon town. |
Waste of money. Agbowo shopping is close by and derelict. The truth is that ibadan does not have the middle class to sustain it in the long term. |
Symphony007: reaccess your brain and you'll see that it's not port harcourt you visited, no residential area? But port harcourt is the home to the most company headquaters after lagos. No malls or recration? Ever heard of everyday in GRA, genesis delux, icinema, silverbird, atrium, emporiom etc. As for roads i don't need to answer you because it'll embelish your ignorance. Wow..better retrace your steps to where you visited cause it's certainity not p.h city.Jeez! Typical children on nairaland! Must your response contain insults? You won't go very far with such mentality you know! Learn to comment from an intellectual standpoint. |
Lagos obviously!! I see a number of references to port Harcourt in the thread, and don't understand why. To me ph is a big disappointment. I was looking forward to moving here in 2006,but was very disappointed and so are many colleagues that moved at the same time so it's not about just me. We were all expecting much more. Ph has no proper middle class residential layout, no recreational facilities, no roads other than the few amaechi just dualised, no mall, no cultural events etc. The only thing to do here to go to eatery, drink and chase lousy chicks. Even the whole noise about ph girls has been proven be overated and once again, not by just me, but all my friends think so too! |
Nokia lumia aint bad, but to be honest the OS is rather restrictive and there arent many useful Apps for the platform. It has potential, but microsoft has to really improve the user experience by the next major update. |
I just hope that there is enough parking space for everyone!! Next thing is that they will begin parking on the adjoining streets and cause a nuisance for the neighborhood like MFM in Akoka and deeper life in Gbagada!! |
Do our so called stars now share clothes? How come we have had so many "who wore it betters" in the last couple of months with pictures of two people wearing the exact same thing? |
The issue with etisalat seems to be everywhere. I am in phone and have been experiencing poor Internet for about 2 weeks now |
Hmmm, looks like I might have got part of my answer. The story in the link below specifically mentions Etisalat as the owner of the fibre optic cut, but would that slow down it's service in Nigeria? http://www.ndtv.com/article/india/global-internet-slowdown-india-largely-unaffected-says-kapil-sibal-347953 |
I had bee frustrated by rather slow internet speeds from my Telco, Etisalat, for a few days now, then I started to read about a "global internet slowdown" caused by cyber attacks by a company hoting spam companies and another company dedicated to slowdown the movement of spam. There have also been reports about an undersea cut of a cable connecting Egypt and India ( not sure if this would affect Nigeria though). Is anyone else out there in Nigeria experiencing frustratingly slow internet speeds? Or is it just etisalat? |
Govt should focus on building the rail infrastrucutre and allow for private companies to run their trains, the same way govt own the airports and private airlines use them. The rail sector needs to be revitalised for the overall good of the country. It's always sickening everytime you go to europe and travel by train (almost as comfortably as we fly in Nigeria), to think why we cant have the same in Nigeria. |
Rochas ke! Hell no. Fashola has clearly demonstrated his ability for prudent management of resources. The budget of Lagos and rivers is about the same and Lagos is far more complicated than ph, but you can clearly see that the money is being better managed in Lagos. Rochas has not done much other than talk a lot and make silly appointments.that alone shows the true nature of the mans brain...certainly not Abuja material. Rochas has to clearly demonstrate ability to deliver on a consistent basis like fashola and Adams. |
Since when did 1mbps become 4g? Am I missing something here? Even the gsm Internet which at best is 3.75g offers speeds better than that and during this mtn upgrade I have hit speeds of 5mbps just that it isn't steady yet cos the upgrade isn't complete. And here is mobitel making noise about 4G speeds of 1mbps! |
Pretty bad here in PH o! At least my part of Ph (Rumuibekwe). Incidentally, it used to be quite good before (average of 15-18 hours aday), but for the last 2-3 months we average just about 5-8 hours. |
Good riddiance to bad rubbish! What goes around comes around. Perhaps our prayers for God to remove those who torment us is manifesting!! |
Leave story. I know like 2 or 3 very naughty Madonna chucks and I have a few friends who have done covenant chucks. Not sure there is anything special about their moral values. Everyone just pretends. |
Guys, where can I get the Nokia Lumia 820? I thought Nokia launched it in Nigeria a few. On the ago, but I can't seem to find it anywhere! It's only the 920 I've seen in a few places! |
Does anyone know where to get the Nokia Lumia 820? I heard Nokia Nigeria launched it over a month ago, but I haven't seen it anywhere. |
Ph has been pretty bad for a couple of we now. Not sure what the issue is. Funny enough FG says power generation has hit 4500mw,so I am surprised why our electricity should have worsened. |
Mostly a waste of money if you ask me! Abuja is consuming too much money. |
When Fashola did it no body complained rather it was a welcomed development. Since it is coming from the federal government it has become a taboo. It is high time we learnt to be objective in every public discourse.
At least the road that fasola built and is tolling is high quality. No one can say he can't see what he's paying for! We can't say the same about Lagos ibadan expressway! |
Demdem: Glo isn't crappy in ph. I am in ph an currently enjoying them.Wel maybe it's my are then. Or maybe they have improved cos I dumped them over a year ago. Then their signal used to fluctuate a lot between 3g,edge and gsm. |
We need a revolution in this country. We need to get pdp out! Funny thing though, is that many of us who complain will still vote for Jonathan and expect things to change. No matter who is in an, I will vote for him just to make sure pdp doesn't get my vote. We need change in this country. |
