I knew he was the one 'cos his name was....Neo!! |
Etisalat that cannot even operate a website!? Their website has been misbehaving for months now...! The company seems to be falling apart. |
Meanwhile do you have a mini version of that modem? |
Bros! When did mtn upgrade to 3.75g! As far as I'm aware only Airtel and Etisalat are on 3.75g.mtn is still on 3.5g though they are currently doing an upgrade which I suspect is supposed to bump their speeds up to 3.75g.wish someone would step up to lte though! |
I think the real issue is the definition of what is R2 and R3! Going by what I understand R2 to be, almost all of us should fall into that category, which isn't too bad. The issue will come when PHCN attempts to put us on R3 instead of R2. Can someone define what R3 stands for? I see something about LV maximum load! I assume LV stands for Low Voltage Maximum Load! What exactly does this mean. Regards. |
Can we have a picture? What brand and model is it |
Guys, I want to know if the galaxy s3 is available in Nigeria yet and if so, where can I buy it? |
samir101ng: Hi Djcn,Hmmmm! Glad to hear that glo internet speeds have improved. i abandoned my Glo sim for internet over a year ago due to frustration. The signal would keep dropping from HSDPA, to EDGE to GSM every couple on minutes and I grew tired of that. I might just give glo a try one more time when my current bundle on Etisalat expires. However, Glo and MTN aren't on HSPA+ yet though. |
How do NUPENG and lagos doctors relate? We should outlaw "solidarity strikes". It makes no sense as far as I'm concerned |
Wow! I didn,t know that they were that rich. |
I'll like to see exactly how this refinery is supposed to make money! |
LTE!! That would be a tall order. By the way HSDPA from MTN has a theoretical max speed of 7.2Mbps, likewise Glo. HSPA+ has a theoretical max of 21Mbps, while DC-HSPA+ (Dual Channel)has a theoretical max of 42Mbps. For now, only Airtel and Etisalat operate HSPA+. MTN and Glo still operate HSDPA. If they had stepped up, I'm sure they'd let people know about it. Besides we should also realise that we are all still limited by the hardware that we carry!! |
Airtel needs to enable those using contract lines to be able to activate bundles!! There is no way I am going to do any serious browsing at 5k per kb!! That means 1Mb alone is N50. |
Does anyone know where I can get the factory unlocked Lumia 900? |
Unfortunately, the 4G isn't really useful in Nigeria, since we dont have LTE and I am not aware that the ipad3 supports HSPA+ |
Facebook, 2go, Hi-5, BB....aren't they all the same!! Personally, I have slept with about 2 chicks from Hi-5 and like 5 or 6 from Facebook!! But old things have passed away...!! |
We should all be aware though that even though Airtel may have upgraded to HSPA+ i.e 3.75G, many of us will still be limited by our hardware i.e modems, phones etc. If your phone is configured for max downlink of 7.2Mbps, though the 3.75 g will improve your speeds, you shouldn't expect the same improvement in performance of someone who uses a Galaxy S2 for eg, which incorporates HSPA+ with max downlink of 21Mbps. |
The guy has done his time at Arsenal and should go, |
Ebonyi is one of the most unheard of states in Nigeria!! |
xynerise:Please where else can I get movie downloads? |
Why would I do 100hours valid for 30days at N5000, when I can get a normal 30 day 1Gb bundle for N3,500?? Except the hourly plan offers more data, I don't see the logic behind these plans. |
We should also regulate how churches convert residential property to churches or build churches in clearly residential plots in estates. I find it odd how Pastors and Church leaders, many of whom are educated and are professionals in the build environment (Architechts, Civil engineers, urban planners etc), allow their parishes to be built in clearly residential plots just in the name of advancing the kingdom etc. What is wrong is wrong and what is right is right!! Check out the nuisance of Deeper Life in Gbagada or MFM in Akoka!! |
The hype is too much o jare!!! |
I thought we had broadband in Nigeria, considering that sometimes Glo, MTN and more recently Etisalat (all depending on where you are) are fast anough to stream You tube etc with little or no buffering at speeds ranging anywhere from 500kbps to 2mbps. However, we are being left behind!! I am shocked to learn that people in the UK (fibre optic I might add and not 3G or HSPA+!!) are connecting to the internet at speeds up to 30-50Mbps and they are now targeting 100-300Mbps!!! Fast enough to download a song in 5seconds! A song is typically about 3-4Mb or a HD movie in 5 minutes. A HD movie is roughly 5Gb. Dont believe me? Then follow the link. http://uk.news.yahoo.com/more-super-fast-broadband-planned-123454136.html;_ylt=AjmRRK6UBNrA0_.exWjUG_HwfMl_;_ylu=X3oDMTFxdXZjc3YyBG1pdANJbmZpbml0ZSBCcm93c2UgVGV4dARwb3MDNARzZWMDTWVkaWFJbmZpbml0ZUJyb3dzZUxpc3Q-;_ylg=X3oDMTJ0c3AxcHFhBGludGwDZ2IEbGFuZwNlbi1nYgRwc3RhaWQDNWE1M2Y2NTEtZTgyZC0zMDM4LTg1ZTUtM2ZkMGM2Y2Y1OWQ5BHBzdGNhdAN0ZWNoBHB0A3N0b3J5cGFnZQR0ZXN0Aw--;_ylv=3 When will we get here? What happened to all the fibre optic Glo was laying in Port Harcourt like a year or two ago? |
What a shame of a nation!! I wish the cameramen could have zoomed in on the number plate of that police van, |
Country Population Per Capita Income Venezuela 26mln $12,700 Kuwait 3mln $48,900 S.Arabia 27mln $24,200 Iran 76mln $10,600 Qatar 1.7mln $179,000 UAE 8mln $49,600 Algeria 37mln $7,300 Libya 6.4mln $14,000 Iraq 32mln $3,800 Nigeria 162mln $2500 https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/rankorder/2004rank.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_population I am sure we can all see the correlation between high population and low per capita, with the exception of Saudi because Saudi produces about 9mln barrels of oil. If these countries can "afford" subsidy, can Nigeria?? You will probably also find that Nigeria is lower than all these countries on the corruption rating, meaning that with our small money, we are likely to be stealing more!! For eg If corruption in Libya costs $1000 per capita, they are left with $13,000! If corruption per capita in Nigeria is $1200, we are left with $1,300!! And that is not necessarilily only govt corruption, but also private sector and individual corruption as well. Also consider that with less corruption over the years, these countries have better infrastructure and are therefore better posed to grow their per capita income. We on the other hand have to find the money from somewhere (from our paltry $2,500) to get out infrastructure to the same level as these guys (not that they will sit still and wait for us) and we still expect to spend so much on subsidy?? It is not our fault yes! Our leader of the past have thrown us into a deep hole and unfortunately to come out of it, we all have to struggle to climb out. It's not Jonathans fault that corruption and incompetence over the last 30-40years have landed us where we are, but the man has to start from today to try and get us out!! |
It should also be considered that most of the OPEC members listed here are middle east countries who operate "monarchies", many of whom use low fuel prices to keep their citizens "happy" in order to perpetuate themselves in power. Also the fact that the populations of these countries is low makes it "easier" to afford the subsidy. Also, most of these countries are less corrupt, so what money there is goes around much better. And while it's easy to say that the govt is corrupt, the truth is that the average Nigerian is now (for whatever reason) inherently corrupt. All the councillors, LG chairmen, State Govs, commissioners, Ministers, Judiciary, Legislative, Executive etc have brothers, sisters, cousins, parents etc. Do we tell those we know in govt not to be corrupt? Rather we ask then to give us contracts, apply favouritsm etc |
