Hmm, it could be anything o, sudocrem may not be able to clear it because Sudocrem has specific things it treats. Have you shown it to a Dr? Do that first and depending on what he/she recommends, check for a cream. You don't want to be flinging money around testing products.

pls my baby has this reoccurring red-dried patches on his back neck and chest, it will dry and peel off, and reappear after one week. I saw sudocream at pharmacy but couldn't buy it cos its expiring by February 2017. Pls what else can I apply?

It requires patience here, don't rush just feed gently and try to calm baby down.

Speaking of force feeding...I have a question.
For newborns who tend to sleep a lot, such that you have to wake them up say every 3 hours to feed..
Does that fall under force feeding??

No!
Force feeding is when baby doesn't want to accept and you are trying by all means to make sure she/he thereby forcing the food into his/her mouth. Especially, all these our traditional method of feeding baby (lying baby on the lap and pouring akamu into baby's mouth via our hand). This causes a lot of casualty.

true, dint work 4 my sil, her child is 8mnths and she's 4months pregnant, she had to forcefully stop the baby breast

she can continue breastfeeding. one of our mama here did it successfully.

Good day Everyone. My princess is doing much better. The doctor prescribed some antibiotics for her saying that the fever was her her body fighting off an infection.
I dropped her at the creche and from my calls to them, she is doing just fine and playing with friends.
May God continue to keep our babies and sickness far away from them, Amen.

Thank God for this thread. So many things to learn.

Now I just have to share this. My lo doesnt like taking drugs. Yesterday evening, I was trying to give him his drug (he has malaria). He was rejecting as usual, I now remembered the method my aunt taught me about giving him drug when he is crying. I said I should try it oo. He was crying as usual and I poured just little quantity to the corner of his mouth (just like how she taught me). That was how my lo started coughing, tears coming out of his eyes, I started panicking (Gosh I was so scared). Thank God for my parent, they collected him from me and put just little salt on his tongue (I had already gone to take the car keys, forgetting first aid...lol). Reading through the thread now, I realised what I did was also FORCE FEEDING DRUGS. I made a vow yesterday NEVER to force a child to take drugs or anything whatsoever. I thank God I didn't learn my lesson the hard way.

This morning, I tried giving him pap, he rejected it, I packed the pap and told him since you dont want, I WON'T FORCE you. I just feel I should share this. Thanks to all mamas for the enlightenment.

Thank God for you dear sis. Instead of using the cup that normally comes with drug, use syringe instead, sterilize and measure the ml required, drop little by little by the corner of his mouth. Same method when giving ORS. A Dr friend taught me this method.
