Federal Marriage Registry is better and will save you a lot of headache. People use Local Government Marriage Certificate too, but be aware that Federal Government of Nigeria has nullified such certificates in supreme court recently. https://punchng.com/court-declares-lg-marriage-certificates-illegal/ Google search marriage certificate in Nigeria yusuftosin: |
With my understanding, the money must be there throughout the period till you finally land in Canada. During background/elegibility checks, I am sure they verify with your bank. Upon landing, some have reported that they also check at point of entry while, majority did not. So, it's safe to allow the money sit in your account. kcosam: |
The requirements are not the same. The proof of fund is higher than AIPP by far o. Cic updated their site with the requirements some days ago. In fact POF is one of the reasons some of us are exploring this AIPP route. Make God help us. MadeInTokyo:

Sorry I have been offline. It's possible to add additional certificate. Just send them a webmail to be sure how to go about it. You will send both the professional Diploma and Associate certificate to them, while you also request CIPM to forward your transcript. As for your CRS simulation, your ECA falls under two or more certificates since your professional Diploma will come out as 3 years Bachelor's degree. Hope this helps. smilizangi: |
I don't know if this has been answered. Yes, WES evaluate CIPM if you have a professional diploma. smilizangi: |

Let me add my contribution to this issue. I am not in UK, but still searching for an opportunity to leave naija. @Aphrodite007 said is correct. I got to know about this while researching for ways to travel. Please, read the Premium times news paper for July 24, 2019 with the link below: https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/342672-nigeria-introduces-new-federal-marriage-certificate.htmlquote author=Aphrodite007 post=80488321] I am not sure how correct this is. Before 2018 the embassies received all wedding certificates both local and federal. But there was a circular in the newspapers that the embassies are only going to recognise federal. I didn’t want to test the waters with my own spousal visa so I just went to a federal court and did mine to avoid stories that touch. So unless someone that did their spousal visa in 2018 says that they used their local govt wedding cert, I think it’s best to just do the federal.[/quote] |
My sincere advise; go back to their office where you submitted the application and grease the hand of the officer there to follow up for you. That's the only way out o. Experience is a good teacher..hope you understand. byeee. Chinna54: |
That's the only way this thread can grow and everyone will benefit. Thanks for redirecting everyone here. hannamia007: |
This is a useful information I got from the sister thread and thought I should share. Let's be very careful in our applications. COPIED! COPIED!! COPIED!!! If you have ever applied to the US or Canada before for a visit and your visa was denied, then you need to read this mail very well. I will use this story to quickly explain what i have to say today. A lady applied for US visa sometimes in 2016 but was denied. She reapplied in 2017 for child birth stuff and she was given. Because her sister lives in Toronto Canada, she went ahead to apply for a Canadian tourist visa so that after the childbirth, she could just enter Canada through New York to Toronto to pay her sister a visit. There is a US-Canada land border between New York and Toronto hence the need for that visa. Unfortunately, while filling her Canadian tourist visa form, she made a mistake under the background information session. On the form she was asked if she has been denied visa, or removed from any country before. She said No! Fine, she hasn't been removed from any country before but she has been denied once in the US. Well, it could be an oversight right? Not with immigration. No ignorance in law they say. Before the visa was refused, the case officer sent her a Procedural fairness letter to explain the "oversight" She realized a mistake has been made and told the truth in her response with evidence. Case closed she thought.... No response from Ghana. She wrote again for follow up.Nothing came. She didn't know she has been tagged inadmissible for 5 years and she was not properly communicated. Now in 2018, the husband went through all the processing for the MPNP. Luckily has a brother in Manitoba.Went through the Express entry linked MPNP route. Got Provincial nomination after 6 months. Got ITA thereafter on the 7th month. -Did medicals -Police report -Biometric But guess what....the evil ban was there waiting. But you might say he wasn't the one banned right? May 2019, the mail landed from CIC. His wife's name was flagged under Inadmissibility. That was when they really knew they were banned in 2017 when madam applied to Canada. And the law says if a member of the family have an issue bothering on inadmissibility, it affects all the members of the family if they want to come to that same country for the period of the ban. The news was devastating to the whole family of four. Madam cried all night. But Ghana too didn't do a good job in terms of communication as the woman till today claimed she didn't get any mail from Accra that she has been deemed Inadmissible to Canada for 5 years. They took the case up and got lawyers...letters were written to Nova Scoatia and Ghana copied again. For Ghana, the decision is final. Nova scoatia...yet to respond. Why did i take all the time to write this long story today. please note the following: 1. Be very careful when filling any form especially when it comes to background information 2. Be honest with your input. Don't assume they will never know 3. US and Canada share a lot of database especially on immigration. 4. If you have been denied in any of these two countries, don't just assume its just denial...read the letter very well and if they make reference to something in the letters, go to google and find OUT! 5. It is better to know you have been banned early before you start all the process and spend all the money again. |
Ok. Thanks for your response. MamaAaron: |
On the registration portal, what do I fill as city and province? MamaAaron: |
Please, let's focus on getting what we want first. There are many spies on nairaland who gives intelligence to VO's. I have been following this thread in Canadavisa forum and I sincerely appreciate @hannamia007 for taking out time to creat this for Nigerians. Many Indians have taken advantage of this program and are living their fulfilled life in canada now. The most important thing is getting a job and landing in Canada. On the flip side though, you may be able when you have satisfied the requirement to become a citizen. As canadian citizens, you are qualified by law to live anywhere in Canada. Let's all make this forum great by sharing informations that could help all of us. Anikeblessing: |
Check your WES profile after 2-3 days, your profile will change to "We received your documents. We are reviewing your documents". That's exactly what happened to me. Mine was sent twice and they only acknowledged the second one after 3 days. samsonedos: |
Just relax. WES will send you a mail once they send your transcript back to your school for authentication. amoskitto: |
Only one WAEC result is enough. It doesn't matter the grades and you can only use one unscratch card for a single result and not two. So, process one result and one card. Hope this help. kelchy: |
You must not include O'level while filling the form. As far as it's a Nigerian degree, it's a requirement effective August 2018. Tell your friend to visit WAEC office at Yaba to process the result verification if he/she lives in Lagos. WAEC Unscratched card is also required in addition to the verification which WAEC will send on his/her behalf. Approximate cost; Affidavit-(1,500 -3,000), Unscratch card-(1,500), Verification -(10,000), Courier - (10,000) Total=24,500 All the requirements will be given to you at their office in Lagos or Port Harcourt if he/she is in south south. Hope that helps. Fadia: |
Yes, it is true. Ask them in Abuja there if they can accept the application and send to lagos on your behalf. I submitted mine in Port Harcourt Zonal office and they sent it to Lagos on my behalf. I monitored the progress through my contact in PH office until it was done and the verification sent to WES from Lagos. Amandacanny: |
You must go to WAEC office in Lagos or any of the zonal office close to where you live. They will give you all the requirements for result verification. You will then submit photocopy of your WAEC certificate along with all relevant credentials to them and they will send to WES on your behalf. They won't accept the one you sent to them. mosbiod: |
It's a straight forward thing. Just send a mail to exams@cipmnigeria.org and ask for requirement for obtaining transcript. They will respond with the list of required items. Mine was ready within 4 workings days after submiting all the documents. They won't dispatch for you,but would require you to pick it up yourself. Since, I am not in Lagos, I just called someone to pick it up for me. stanssy: |
@CuteRedd, I wonder if the guys in the link you post are for real. Their PH Rep I spoke with just told me it would cost me between 14k to 15K for just a scratch card. Some Nigerians will never change I just told him not to bother. Some people sha..... CuteRedd: |
@Nomad26, thanks. nomad26: |
@CuteRedd, thanks alot for your response and the link you shared. I just spoke with their Rep in Port harcourt, he said it's not available now but that he will revert once he receive more copies. I never knew one could still get the unscratched card. I will follow up with their Rep in PH since I live here. Regards. CuteRedd: |
That means you were able to get the unscratched card. I even checked 3 cyber cafes, before going to WAEC office, same thing. Alright, I will keep searching na. Thanks Annybens1993: |
Hmmm.....I have searched everywhere for unscratched card, but couldn't find. I was told in WAEC office that they have since stopped production of unscratched cards. What they produce now is result checker paper slip. Oakbend16: |
Please, what card are you sending, is it the result checker slip or unscratched card? I have been asking these question since as I couldn't get the unscratched card but just result checker slip from WAEC office in Port Harcourt Oakbend16: |
Someone should help me out with this please. connectgt: |
