Pelicanmedia:Let’s start from the beginning, you said your tank was empty , how did you conclude it was empty? When a vehicle has an empty tank of fuel it won’t start and run Or if it runs empty while driving its engine will shut off due to the fuel pump not reaching any fuel in the bottom to supply to the injectors and you’d have to clear off the road or push the vehicle to a safe corner before you go and start looking for fuel to buy. So from your initial post you claim your tank was empty and I ask HOW EXACTLY DID YOU DETERMINE IT WAS EMPTY? was it because your orange reserve fuel light came on in your dashboard OR your vehicle stopped abruptly in the middle of the road while you were driving? |
SCAN YOUR CAR |
If your O2 sensors are bad then change them. A normal eod goes 9kms/ltr around town and much more on highways. |
gaby:Mugu, so after all your rants the alternative you’re giving us is for us to not vote anybody abi? We will vote for obi because he’s the lesser of all available evils. Flog your head on the floor if it’s too painful for you to bear ![]() |
It’s a glaring fact that if you take a drive around Lagos today and visit every bus stop you’d see at least 5 urchins and miscreants collecting their ‘owo-mi-da’ while wearing tinubu shirts and face caps ![]() The only people who are supporting tinubu free of charge are agberos, hoodlums and area-boys ![]() |
gaby:If after the 16 years of pdp misrule and 8 years of apc catastrophe you’re still trying to be diplomatic and mature in taking over your destiny then I’m sorry but you’re not yet ready for the betterment of your life and the lives of your family. You must either be a pdp zombie or an apc miscreant which is okay as it’s your opinion and singular vote you’re exercising |
WycliffeSMB:Mention luvinhubby here, he sells it. |
WycliffeSMB:That’s your oxygen sensor. Order for a replacement complete sensor because it comes joined together with it’s wiring OR look for a good electrician to join that one back to its harness under the carpet of your vehicle |
SeyiJayden:YES you can use 5w30 |
Pearl1910:common SHATTAP YA MAAT what falsely? Which proof are we supposed to be looking for again? All the ones that have been in our faces here are what? You think you’re talking to kindergarten kids here abi? So you think it’s only dru that donated or shared money during that competition? Or is it because it’s only dru’s own that reached your account for you to covet? So because my money wasn’t involved I shouldn’t call you out abi? you’re a giant crook they made you a judge to hold the winning money and share to the participants of the competition but you went behind their backs to upload a dashboard which wasn’t your own to claim someone else’s winnings. What you did is just like ebuka of big brother Nigeria going ahead to crown himself as a winner and taking home millions which the housemates were competing for. See your wide mouth like lawyer, you think lawyers are not on this thread? You better take your time so we won’t forward your case to tabbaz to upload in the fraudulent list thread for the whole world to see. We have seen proof of you being gabrinchi and it’s too clear for even an im.becile to understand. If you like continue sidestepping like a crab. You will fall into that hole you’ve been digging very soon. You’re mentioning me and putting lawyer and ghost and found out in the same post? YOU ARE NOT NORMAL I swear ![]()

BAZ001:The fact is that I was here and witnessed when folks brought out their hard earned money to set up the competition between drivers for who had the highest dashboard that time. It was a fierce, memorable and interesting competition and almost the whole thread came together in unison to participate. Everybody put aside their hatred or likeness for dashboard posting just to compete for the available prizes then. All UNKNOWN Old and new members too joined in. It was bliss, a very enjoyable week I tell you. The competition ended and the respective winners walked away with their due prizes . . . well, all except one GABRINCHI This I tell you that blow was a very low one I just came here to call pearl out before he continued to post his usual smokescreens. I once said that 90% of us here have other monikers we operate and it’s not a crime. but him trying to rub his deceit in our faces will never be tolerated by me , in the first post I made concerning this issue I stylishly told him how to make this issue blow over but he later claimed I was trying to blackmail him emotionally . . . Well, it’s not like I don’t know how to blackmail someone but wetin concerne me concern am? But bazoo na you be vawulence master for here sha, no go dey do like one well known werey wey dey disguise like me lol Abeggi, let me crawl back to the hole from where I am observing this wonderful thread jare I don hang my vawulence boots for today

pope191:All I know is that I didn’t borrow N100 from mtn today to subscribe for their 100mb daily data plan so that I can come to this thread to embrace peace ![]() I dey broke plus I dey vex, peace can never be an option. . . WaWu lence must ensue ![]()

73O9:WHAT ARE MY EYES READING? YOU SAY HIM DO WETIN ? ? ? Obtaining by trickery is a form of 419 in Nigerian constitution oh ![]()
|
73O9:It’s a very simple sturvs pearl stole N20,000 meant for you genuine drivers from this thread and still has the effrontery to be posting here upandan and rubbing his heist in the faces of hard working drivers without remorse or apologies. Trust me, I’ve asked around . . . he has no shame

Snrman1:If your engine air filter was missing the effect on the engine would be that dust and dirt will be entering into your intake manifold and into your cylinders, this will eventually be making your engine oil dirtier faster and if the wrong element gets in there it can actually destroy your cylinder wall and cause your engine to lose compression/start smoking badly. Always ensure your engine air filter is intact and clean all the time. If your ac filter isn’t installed then your air conditioning system will be sucking in dirt from in and outside of your vehicle anytime it’s in operation and this will just be dumping the whole dirt ontop your evaporator which will finally clog it or destroy it by making it develop leaks. Always use the cabin air filter and make sure it’s always clean by changing it at least once a year. You see that thing your mechanic did concerning your ‘indomie’? It’s a disaster and a hazard. That is a good reason why your vehicle could be giving you poor fuel economy. If you didn’t install the correct type of catalyst your brainbox won’t be able to calculate the right amount of fuel your engine should be burning plus that thing your mechanic constructed and put in there (whatever it is) could have been degraded under intense heat already and is clogging your exhaust flow which will eventually blow up your engine. That is a potential fire hazard right there. In fact, it’s either you buy the correct catalyst and put it back in there OR you leave it completely empty and install something called a O2 sensor Spacer/ de-fouler on your exhaust instead. In fact it’s a miracle that your check engine warning light is not showing on your dashboard, are you sure the mechanic didn’t use cello tape to cover it? When you put your key in the ignition and turn it from OFF - ACC - ON do you see that orange check engine light come on along with your red battery light too before you start the engine? I think you should get a scan of your vehicle, don’t mind that the check engine light isn’t on just go and get a scan. It’s a miracle that your oxygen sensors are still functional at this point. Try to upload a picture of both your engine and the other stuffs I requested here. It’s important so I can circle the areas I am speaking about for you to understand better. If you’re having trouble uploading pictures from your phone camera maybe it’s because its size is too big, how to reduce it is by going to your photo gallery ,opening up the photo you want to upload, taking a screenshot of the photo and then uploading the screenshot instead of the main photo. If the main photo is 5mb a screenshot of it should be like 1-2mb and it will upload easily. |
Snrman1:Concerning number 4, how to check if your fans are running the right way is to put your key into the ignition and turn it from OFF - ACC - ON and see if the cooling fans in front of your radiator come on. If any of them comes on then your fans are running the wrong way and it’s also possible your engine does not have its thermostat installed which will cause you to have increased fuel consumption. Concerning number 6 it’s not about your brake pads at all. See, the simple way to check if your brake calipers is binding is to drive the vehicle for a while and then park the car then take your hands and feel each rim/wheel and see if any one of them is hotter then the rest. If all of them have the same temperature to your touch then you don’t have a binding brake caliper. Concerning number 8 it’s easy. Just drive your vehicle for like 20mins and then park somewhere with the engine still running and take up your phone. Open the camera and then take a picture of your instrument cluster when your air conditioner is OFF and another picture of the cluster when the air conditioning is ON. |
Na wao, see how you people are talking as if sapa no dey the land again |
PandoraObi:Leodking aka simplyleo you’ve been banned till thy kingdom come numerous times before but yet you’re still here with this new moniker causing trouble again? |
SuperWriter:Arrogant and brave disciples are the bread and butter of a true messiah. Remember Saint Peter, the foundation of the Christian church once took a knife and cut off a soldiers ear because the soldier wanted to kidnap Jesus |
Itsrm:Judging from your mileage I know my own rear will last much longer. I’ve been using this vehicle for 9 years now and I only changed the front shocks 5 years ago because I ran into a pothole when on a highway that bent the front passenger side shock absorber. |
Itsrm:I’ve changed both my front shocks just once in 206,000 kilometers but my own Honda is still on its original rear shocks from factory ![]() |
Burchester:Then your issue was never internal. You’d need to check the following items one by one ; 1. Your VTC Spool Valve (fig 1) - it might be spoilt and you’d need another one. 2. Your VTC Solenoid gaskets (fig 2) - they might be clogged with debris. It’s common when you’re running conventional oil and not changing it out on time. The oil accumulates dirt and it blocks the gasket making oil not flow into the spool valve as required. 3. If you tried the first two options and didn’t get a solution then you can just go ahead and change the entire VTC solenoid as a unit (fig 3) and then clean the former gasket well or buy a new one while reinstalling the replacement. Show your mechanic these images, he will recognize it and know the area it’s mounted on your engine.
|
Burchester:That code means there’s an issue with your engines VTC actuator. It’s a gear connected to one end of your camshaft. If you changed only the camshaft itself without touching the VTC then you’ve just wasted your time and money. I hope you kept your old camshaft because it’s possible it’s still in good condition. |
obinoral1179:Oya bring, there should be something we can do to help so far your village people are not dragging steering with you. |
Glithronix:Ahn- Ahn this one na lie jor. If only two or three people sit at the back without anything heavy in the boot it shouldn’t go down low like that na lol, well except the vehicle already has bad shocks or it’s the sport trim of the accord (most sport version vehicles have their springs lowered by an inch or so from factory) The thing is Honda and Acura engineered their vehicle suspensions from a certain year and models in such a way that instead of the rear springs to take the full weight of the occupants and load the camber would also ‘flex’ so that it can bear a fraction of the load, this also makes the vehicle more stable on high speeds while fully loaded. I think that’s why Honda rear shocks last a lot longer than usual in Nigeria. |
Snrman1:Let me see if I can assist you from here. Try to answer my questions below one by one to the best of your knowledge. 1. What year is your vehicle? 2. What engine is in it because that vehicle has 3 engine variants (a picture of it will suffice) 3. What warning lights are displayed on your dashboard after driving for a while/when the vehicle is warmed up (a picture of your instrument cluster showing the lights will suffice) 4. Are your fans running directly or off the battery whenever you turn your ignition to the ON position (is your ect sensor present and connected to the ecu properly) 5. What engine oil do you use in the engine? 6. Are you sure your brake calipers are fully functional and not binding? 7. Are you using water or coolant in your radiator 8. What is the normal RPM of the engine when warm without load (when air conditioning is off) and under load (when air conditioning is on). I ask this to know if your air intake bypass thermal valve is functioning well or not since I suspect your engine uses electrical throttle actuation. You can take pictures of both instances and post here too so it’s easier to understand. 9. Pull out the plugs from your engine and take a picture of them side by side and post it here for us to see. We can diagnose if your engine is running lean or rich from their looks and also know if you’re using the right specification of plugs for your engine type. Try to get these information back to us here so we can try to diagnose your issues as best as we can. Plus I hope you’re not comparing a previous vehicle’s fuel consumption to this one you’re driving now. All engines aren’t the same. Have you calculated your mpg by yourself before? If you don’t know how to do it tell me so I can explain a very easy way to do it for you. |
Snrman1:Chai! I’m really pitying you I hope you didn’t get an abused vehicle for this e hailing business but even if you did you can still rectify your issues with the right help. Go to the Honda maintenance thread in cartalk and answer my queries so I can try to help you. Honda accords are wonderful and strong vehicles especially the 2008 and above versions. Anybody that tells you otherwise is doing so out of ignorance. |
quam9997:Take it back to him. No use finding a new technician at this stage. This fault is a small one from my understanding. Just tell him to check the sensors. He will perform the test I outlined in my former post and confirm if it’s the actual sensors or the wires that are bad or not plugged in well. It’s an electrical fault true true. |
Viking07:Be careful who you’re voting for oh lol because pearl can do last minute surprise turnaround if you don’t know
|
NuclearWinter: |
quam9997:That code is for either a damaged camshaft position sensor A or B (there are 2 sensors plugged in somewhere beside and slightly under your valve cover) OR The mechanic has somehow misaligned your timing chain or it’s accompanying components. From the way most mechanics are very impatient and use ‘strong hand’ in handling vehicles I’d suspect he’s either damaged one of your camshaft positioning sensors or he didn’t plug in the wires from the harness to them well. Check your sensors, you can unscrew them each (usually 10mm screws) and switch their positions and scan the vehicle again. If the scan shows that the fault shifted from camshaft position sensors A to B or vice versa then it means it’s just a bad sensor but if after switching you still get the exact same code then there’s something definitely wrong with your harness or engine timing. |
