Money is never the solution to anything, structure is. Get that. The north has held power forever, it hasn't changed it for the better. The south has held money for decades, it hasn't changed it. Something is fundamentally faulty. That is the structure. Without restructuring nothing can work, no leader can succeed and this nation simply cannot move forward. Remember we are in year 6 of the corruption war yet it rages on. What I said in 2014/15 I am still saying today. What they were boasting about in 2015 on the other hand has all but been retracted. Do you hear from superman Magu anymore....
What do you mean by structure? Are you saying that if the structure changes from what it is today, the people of Niger Delta will become saints overnight? Because I am not aware that anyone from another region has governed or managed their resources on their behalf.

PoliticsRe: NDDC Denies Awarding Any Contract To Senator Godswill Akpabio by contigiency(m):
This is how the people of Niger Delta are wasting the golden opportunity to develop their region. Look at all the billions given to them through the ministry of Niger Delta, NDDC, Amnesty program, 13% derivative and many more. Yet, the region is as backward as Abia state roads. When they see government building anything in the North, they start shouting that money is being gotten from their region to develop the North. They will over look those billions they are squandering through the above mentioned means.

If States like Ebonyi and Borno with paltry allocations and meager internally generated revenues could be building their infrastructure with the speed they are using now, I don't know why the whole of Niger Delta will not be as close as Dubai considering huge amount of money that have been given to them so far.

Funny thing is that, the ministry of Niger Delta, NDDC, Amnesty program, 13% derivative fund etc, are all being managed by their indigenes, and not any Hausa man from the North or anybody from the Yoruba.

And government is telling you to disregard it, that they are not responsible for such news. All is to protect the public. Or are you saying the government should rather own up for information they never disseminated? Your writing skills should have gone to condemn the architects of fake news and not the person who is trying to protect you from it.

These men just use the title to decieve gullible followers to achieve their personal gains... I will give you some examples.

-Pst. Tunde Bakare: Wanted to have a feel of the Presidential Villa, tried and failed so many times and was later relegated to a mere consultant.

-Rev Chris Okotie: You all know how it always ends up for him, even his church members do vote for a different candidate.

Pst Yemi Osibande: Used the title of a pastor to sneak into the Villa, but ended up heading irrelevant committees meant for Omoniles. E.g "Chairman,Use The Toilet Committee of Nigeria" amongs others.

Now Pst Ize-Iyamu, who's now behaving like a cheap prostitute all over Edo State will end up heading the team of organizers in the next Igué festival after he's being used and dump.
And you, what have you used your name to do, order than typing this nonsense from your dark one room apartment where you share public toilet and bathroom?

SportsDiego Costa Jailed Over Tax Fraud by contigiency(op): 8:15am On Jun 05, 2020
FORMER Chelsea striker Diego Costa has been sentenced to six months in prison for tax fraud in Spain – but the Atletico Madrid ace will pay 36,000 Euros fine to avoid any jail time.

Spanish outlet El Mundo report the Brazilian forward pleaded guilty to a tax offence amounting to 1.1m Euros.

He is accused of defrauding the state of more than £900,000 by not declaring payments of more than 5.15m Euros (£4.63m) after his move to Chelsea in 2014.

The tax agency denounced Costa for defrauding the authorities regarding 1m Euros (£890,000) in image rights.

The Spanish treasury added another fiscal crime to Costa before withdrawing and halving the fine.

Costa is said to have asked Atletico to pay the fee, which they refused. However, they did give the striker an advance on his wages, meaning he could pay the fine in full. The fee is said to be around 500,000 Euros (£450,000).

Those hard cord northerners you mentioned have been anti buhari right from time. Somebody like Junaid Muhammed feels that as a lawmaker of yester years, his opinion should be sought in every public issues. That's why he talks carelessly as if he is President of the North. Yakasi of course is angry because he thinks it's irrational on the part of buhari not to have accommodated him. Bishop Kuka, I don't need to tell you is pro PDP. You guys are so ignorant.
So if a state decides not to tax it's inhabitants to death,it means they are performing woefully?
the same Ebonyi that it's mega projects have gracing front page is the one performing woefully and that someone has to create this thread by 1 am says a lot.
Your talk shows your years. You think I am not happy with projects going on in Ebonyi state since this present government? My brother I am from Uburu Ohaozara local government in Ebonyi state. So I have every reason to be happy for any development in the state. Besides, you should carefully read what I wrote and understand that I was not particular about Ebonyi state.

Not that I don't have reasons to be particular about Ebonyi state. Because in terms of poverty, I will ask you to check number of people hawking on different roads in the country, majority of them are from my Ebonyi state, check number of wheel barrow pushers in different markets especially in the south east, majority of them are from my Ebonyi state, the same way you see them doing other menial jobs, not to talk of the number of out of school children in the state.

Those are what physical projects cannot resolve, except a deliberate efforts on the part of the government to work on human capital development.

As for the issue under discuss, I will tell you that the poor performance of Ebonyi state is not because the citizens are not paying high in different taxes. They are paying even higher than Borno and other states, to the extent that many are now crying. The reason for the poor performance is that in Ebonyi state, after government projects the next other thing that looks a bit serious in the state, is the quarry work at Ishiagu, and cement industry which they recently brought back to work at Nkalagu. Else, no other serious investors in the state. Industries are almost zero. So after tasking the few small businesses heavily in the state, they don't have the big players to get huge revenue from. So the government should work had in attracting investors and assisting MSMEs to develop in the state.
PoliticsRe: Borno Leads Ebonyi On NBS Ranking Of States IGR Of 2019 by contigiency(m): 4:06am On May 24, 2020
rdokoye:
IGR has absolutely nothing to do with poverty. In the case of Borno, almost everyone works in the public sector, given the low level of education, that's why it's IGR is higher than a state like Ebonyi, where a larger portion of its population have SMEs, and they pay very little tax. The same is the case in all the Igbo states.

Because Igbo states have much larger private sectors, it also means that the state governments have more money to spend on capital infrastructure. Which accounts for the large infrastructure development in the state of Ebonyi. Compared to a state like Ogun, which has huge recurring expenditure, and very little money to spend on infrastructure development.
Stop defending a pure case of woeful performance. My Igbo people will leave their base and scatter in different other places with their business. And whenever you hear them make noise, it's all about what buhari is doing, what El Rufai is doing in Kaduna, what Lagos governor is doing, how Kano governor puts dollars in his pocket etc.

They don't care about how Ikpeazu and Theordo Orji have governed Abia state, how Ugwuanyi is ruling Enugu state is never their problem. Again, don't even try to convince them why Orji uzo Kalu must remain in prison for fraud he committed. Because to them, he should be free because he is not the only one who has stolen before, any Igbo person arrested for corruption is being victimized because he is Igbo and a Christian. These are the kind of arguments you will be hearing from people who claim they are better exposed and educated. Yet, everything about us keep getting worse day in day out.
PoliticsRe: Borno Leads Ebonyi On NBS Ranking Of States IGR Of 2019 by contigiency(m): 3:51am On May 24, 2020
My annoyance is that the States with poor performance are where we hear most noise coming from about poor performance of the President at the center. Majority of these people are more interested on what buhari is doing, while careless on what their governors are doing despite a lot of leverages at their disposal to perform better. Just look at the woeful performance of south south and south East States.
