Benesis:You want a honest explanation? It's a Southern media that we have in Nigeria. If you like, call it a Christian media. You won't be wrong. Where are the Adeboyes, Suleimans, Enenches and co. Oh, it is not a matter directly involving Buhari hence they aren't interested. What hypocrisy! Why aren't they speaking up about the dictatorship and murders going on in Rivers state? Mtchewww. |
Nadio2019:Nwatakiri! How do I even blame you? You were not taught the truth. Please, talk no more about values 'cos it is clear you know nothing about that. Who's talking about an overlap of cultures or heritage here? All you struggled to speak about was close to culture and heritage, not values. Go read about the unification decree during a time that Nigeria practiced regionalism, and come back to tell us who created the current governance structure in Nigeria. |
Ishilove:Mtchewww. |
Daddysidhan:Put the lopsidedness here for everyone to see. You must be shallow minded to think that everyone is as ignorant as you are. There is no such thing as lopsidedness in Buhari's appointments. Figure out something else to complain about...this one no follow. Where is the Works & Housing Minister from? Labour & Employment? Foreign Affairs? Science & Technology? Health? Trade & Investment? Transport? Niger Delta? The most senior of the Service Chiefs is the CDS. Where is he from? Where is the CNS from? |
frosbel2:That isn't done anywhere. Only a person who doesn't understand how such military operation works will think that. No military, no matter its level of sophistication, wakes up and jumps into another territory without cooperation, especially tactically and in terms of intelligence sharing. So, don't even try to cook up anything just to undermine Buhari or the Nigerian military out of hate or bias. Sometimes, I wonder how people rationalize things sha. |
OfficialAwol:See this one o....who made unfounded claims of lopsidedness appointments by Buhari and balanced appointments by the Nigerien president? It is you who bears the burden of proof. Anyways...in Warri...posts like yours are referred to as 'carry talk'. |
Racoon:The US Navy couldn't have achieved anything meaningful in that operation without the Nigerian and Nigerien militaries, which even the US government acknowledged. So, I don't know what you are on about. You guys have no respect at all. I don't blame you sha. Nobody train you. |
OfficialAwol:Rubbish! Being decorous and showing respect when making conversations, remarks, responses or comment, especially on one's country in the global space, has nothing to do with homogeneity or lack of it. Nigeria isn't the worst country in the world. We just know nothing about national values. It starts with family values. It can't be bought with money. It is just like saying that the Nigerians who engage in sundry crimes do so because they are unemployed. Aren't there Nigerians, in their millions, who are well educated without jobs who do not do crimes? These things are about values not homogeneity, and all what not. It is shameful how people who have next to no information on key subjects speak boldly on them with grand ignorance. Can you share Niger's list of government appointments showing representations from across the country? Also, share Buhari's appointees to buttress you claim of lopsidedness? |
jerseyboy:I don't agree with you at all. On the contrary LGAs aren't poor. They can actually achieve way more than you can imagine, in terms of youth capacity building programs, security and basic infrastructural developments, and sanitation. You want me to show you investments undertaken by persons who became LGA Chairmen for just under a year or slightly more? This is where we get it wrong. This is the root of our problems as a nation. Why would anyone want to exonerate persons in charge of governments at the very lowest level? The issue is; a chunk of these Chairmen are totally bereft of idea on how to generate fund, and are only wired to reep off the people of what already accrues to the LGA. Every LGA Chairman is tasked with figuring out how to generate sufficient resources with which to better the lots of his people. They only know how to 'chop'. And that's where the issue lies. They and the governors are the reason we are where we are today. Take it or leave it! The sooner we become smarter and choosier regarding who we make an LGA Chairman, the better for us all. We must come after these guys constructively and strategically, if Nigeria must get better. Even the campaign against police brutality that we all clamour could be extensively addressed by these Chairmen in their various LGAs. Enough of the irresponsibility and excuses for Council Chairmen. I am disappointed that anyone would be holding the brief for someone elected to do a job, and who is woefully failing at doing it. The fact that they are many....by that I mean everywhere, is the more reason to appreciate that they alone have the capacity and spread, to make or mar our society, both in terms of governance and development. |
FisifunKododada:Let them keep lying. Every sane Nigerian knows there was no such thing as killings at the Lekki Tollgate, let alone a massacre. |
woleabayo:The one that your father killed and buried, but that is now resurrected abirun! |
gaius01:I agree with you. The youths have so much part to play. Yes, leadership is a key setback in Nigeria, but my brother, the youths have no where they are going. What kind of youths clamour and support lavish lifestyles without legit jobs; fraud, drug abuse, moral indecency, wild social behaviors, tauting, thuggery, criminal leaders etc. How different are we from these old folks? Perhaps, this is what is keeping our nation down on her knees. It is obviously a case of the kettle calling the pot black. A clear example: the protests that just ended. We believe the leaders have destroyed and mismanaged our country, and wanted to effect a change, starting with bringing police brutality to an end. Then, we turn peaceful protests into murders, lies, maiming, looting and wanton destruction of properties.... I keep saying it, if we must be taken seriously, we must start demonstrating real concern for leadership: we must start being concerned about who becomes a Councillor, LGA Chairman, Assembly member etc. We must choose quality and character, over everything ephemeral. We must promote moral decency in all ramifications. We must start extoling good conducts and persons with rare qualities, and reward competence. We must love being told the truth, irrespective of how it makes us feel. Importantly, we must stop living for today. That's the trick the older generation use on us. They give you a few currency notes to help us live for a few days, weeks, months or years while they mortgage and steal away what is meant for generations yet unborn. We are too carried away by flash. We are loosing integrity and our minds quicker than anything else. We are betrayals of ourselves. We now hate legitimate work but increasingly crave the good life. We now hate to build but love to live. We want all in one day. And once we get it, no matter how, we flaunt it shamelessly and oppressively; and live even more dangerously. We are becoming increasingly averse to rationality and learning. |
GamalNasser:Akuko! Their names please.... Little wonder they say talk is cheap. You were there, and shots were fired.... Then, nameless people died. You think you are talking to someone like yourself? What has you 'Aunty' Hillary Clinton said again after her earlier dumb post about the Lekki Tollgate incident? |

See mugu... Perhaps, you are just hearing of Amnesty International for the first time. I have got nothing to prove to you. Let me just say that if I am not as you claim, may Ogun never stop tormenting you starting from today. |
GamalNasser:Just give me a name of one of those that died, to enable me do a fact check... You think everybody is as emotional, and gullible as you are? What will you be remembered for? For inciting unscrupulous elements who looted, destroyed, maimed and committed arson all across the country? |
woleabayo:Without the so-called 'death monkey' (according to your foolish self), Jonathan won't be there monitoring the election. Just keep following, your messiah would come back and report to Buhari at the Villa. Mumu! |
GamalNasser:Quit the bloody lie! There was no such thing as a massacre in Lekki. |
theenchanter:Oga, before you starting throwing insults mindlessly. Let me tell you that Amnesty International got it all wrong with the Lekki Tollgate incidence. Before you come at me with you madness, I am a bonafide member of the Amnesty International. |
TheRareGem1:Lol. Dem nor dey listen to news. Na only negative stuffs about government dem dey hear about. They are experts in comparing the real Buhari with Jubril of Sudan. |
fuckingAyaya:And her dad is Nigeria's president. I mean, Nigeria's numero uno. Deal with it. Who's your dad? |
IamWonderful:What a headline! "The Lekki Toll Gate Massacre"... And the gullible multitude believed... What a disastrous shame! |
Nigeriabiafra80:You haven't said anything. Say something. |
obasiken:Oga, show proof of the massacre otherwise you will only be making a fool of yourself with this comment. |
IamWonderful:Only the senile will believe that crap by DJ Switch. |
Nigeriabiafra80:See real slave calling someone a slave. Oga, where is the massacre? We want to see it. Where are the parents and relatives of those massacred? |
Sedentary:I do not see it so. With fake news swarming the entire public space at speeds greater than the speed of light, along with inciting, unbecoming and unintelligent responses from people, far and wide, I think the president's speech was just fine. Chimamanda's speech is novelist in nature, not presidential or political at all. Political leaders do not speak that way. To understand me, try and get Macron's speech during the protest in France. Presidential speeches are not meant to be novelist, but firm and direct. |
fuckingAyaya:You appear to be the daft one here. Zahra's comment should have elicited the simple question of 'Why were state Governor's not distributing the palliatives'? from you. Only sick Nigerians still do not know that the problems of Nigeria stem from State Governors, Legislators, Local Government Chairmen. |
Shortyy:How does anyone acknowledge what was alleged and still under investigation? Anyway, her speech. Not the president's. |
sapientia:And what do militants do best? Give back to society, I guess? Was Tompolo not responsible for selling the massive land where the Maritime University was built to the FG for over N10billion? How much got to the community? Less than N500million abi? They should bring it on.... |
DamnnNiggarr:Not true at all. I can show you proofs. These rice and grown here. |
DamnnNiggarr:I don't agree with you. I am very well privy to how these things work. All that is required to lower the prices is, increased production and competition. There is nothing international or rocket science about rice production. Dangote isn't the only one allowed to grow and package rice in Nigeria. We have got Lake, Umza, Coscharis and several other rice products. Currently the two biggest challenge with rice prices, particularly down South, is greed and transportation costs. For the challenge of transportation, a well connected rail system across the country will substantially address that. As you know, rail infrastructures don't get developed overnight. What we are facing is a culmination of bad leadership. At least, we can now see the rails springing up and being revitalized: from Kaduna to Abuja; Lagos to Ibadan; and now, Warri to Itakpe, with an extension to the Main market in Onitsha at Agbor. Conveying agricultural goods and produce on massive scales through railroads, no doubt, will certainly deliver cheaper and affordable prices to people. What you will need 100 trailer trucks to convey in two or three days could be transported in one rail movement. Think of that. So, all this your 2007, N4000 analysis aren't really how these things are analyzed. Economic conditions never stay the same, same applies to prices. Has Nigeria's population remained the same since 2007? What about housing and other services? Use a family economy to do your analysis. Once, a married couple welcome a child, things change significantly, especially in the economic sense for them. Let alone, two or more children. |
sapphiere:Surprised or not. Buhari has addressed the nation as people clamoured. Those who were hoping to leverage what started as a peaceful protest to unleash mayhem on hapless citizens should bury their heads in shame. No government will accept such. Where were all these useless pastors like Adeboye, Suleiman etc, during the lockdown when members of their congregations were dying of hunger? What stops churches from establishing industries and factories to create jobs? |
