Gorimakpa: Of course the selection would be politicised. Unless they bring angels from heaven to handle the process. Even recruitment/selection processes for less fancied government jobs are always politicised; not to talk of the prestigious and highly sought-after Foreign Affairs. Let's just hope to find favour somehow along the line.Thatz it my broda, may we all be favoured. |
ejiykzazi2007: I don't think dear will be a text, d feedback said 'u wil b invited for an interview'... And for d first tym, dey limited it to 1st class nd 2.1.Be it interview or test, d main thing is that they shouldn't politicize d selection. Did u apply? |
I hope the test won't be like the Immigration Service and be politics-free. Patiently waiting for the invite. |
ivy21: Dunno yetletz have them here as soon as u knw. |
My new year resolution is to know God better and closer. |
It's another moment people sit down and make new year resolutions without any substantial means of actualizing them before the year declare its departure. Its a season of sober reflection, when people resolute to metamorphose from their immoral, bad, wicked, greedy, adulterous act into a new creature filled with the fruits of the spirit. The plethora enormity of these act can be traced back to the Roman empire. It was a tradition of the Romans to begin each year with staggering promises to the god called JANUS, for whom the month of January is named. The ancient Babylonians made promises to their gods at the start of each year as well, that they would return borrowed objects and pay their debts. At watchnight services, many people prepare for the year ahead by praying in diverse ways and to their gods or God as the case may be, declaring what we call RESOLUTIONS. Though, there are other religious parallels to this custom. Infact, the practice of new year resolutions partially came from the lenten sacrifices. The concept, regardless of creed, is to reflect upon self-improvement annually. There are more than enough resolutions man can make at a time like this. Is it that of improving physical wellbeing, ranging from eating healthy meals, losing weight, exercises, drinking less alcohol, quitting smoking; or that of financial improvement by staying out of debt, saving more and making small investment? The students would want to improve their grades and get a better result while others think of self improvement and marital commitments. But, its shocking, pathetic, egregious, unpalatable, unromantic and satanic that only few of these resolutions come to limelight at the end of the year. A 2007 study by Richard Wiseman from the University of Bristol involving 3,000 people showed that 88% of those who set New Year resolutions fail. We all have our weaknesses, and that extra ability to work on them makes us a better man, whom the society can reckon with. Lets make our new year resolutions an achievable one by setting out standards to meet our desires. Above all, lets make God our utmost cum prima priority in the forthcoming 2014. Itz gönna be a favourable and remarkable year for us all. Letz feel free to share our new year resolutions? |

torovictor: .The present leaders are also the leaders of tomorrowWat do u mean? Pls explain. |
Friends and Colleagues wot do u think ??In 1985, IBB was the president of Nigeria and our teachers told us that Buhari was the former Head of state. Our teacher also called us "the leaders of tomorrow" 27 years later, IBB and Buhari are still contesting for Presidency. Its either our teacher lied to us about being the leaders of tomorrow. Or tomorrow is yet to come. Who's fooling who? In 1983, Bamanga Tukur was the Governor of the defunct Gongola State (now Adamawa & Taraba) and 30 years later, he is today the Chairman of the ruling Party, The PDP. Dr. Bello Halliru was commissioner in the Old Sokoto State (now Sokoto, Kebbi & Zamfara) and 33 years after he is today Minister of Defence. Major General David Mark(rtd) was the military governor of Niger State in 1984 and 28years later he is today the Senate President. Gov. Murtala Nyako was the governor of Niger State in 1976 and 36years later he is today the Governor of Adamawa State. Ogbonnaya Onu was governor of Abia State in 1992 and 20years after he is today the National Chairman of ANPP. Gov. David Jonah Jang was the governor of Benue State in 1985 and 27years after he is today the governor of plateau state. And Martins Elechi the Ebonyi State Governor is over 80 years old! Only in Nigeria is this possible, where the youth of today have no hope into the future! From strike in health sector, to the labour, to judiciary, to Education and today our students are home lavishing! Please, from these whole political scenarios, are we (d youths) truly d leaders of tomorrow? Let Nigerian youths come to an alliance and fight for the unborn. We can't continue like this. Pass it to everyone if you believe in the NIGERIA DREAM. Let’s tell them ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! SHARE this till they see it. It’s a good place to start... What do u think? Dsenator cares! |

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo (OBJ) was in London some days ago where he addressed the G20. The PDP chieftain spoke on 'Financing in Africa' at the seminar and also had time to visit former British Prime Minister, Tony Blair at his residence to have a tea with him.Obasanjo participated in the panel of discussion for the sixth of White and Case’s Autumn Conference series, which he chaired. The panel extensively dissected 'The Impact of Natural Resources Discoveries' in Africa. http:// 247nigerianewsup date.com/ ?p=89688 |

“People Should Pray for me to Meet the bone of my bone and the flesh of my flesh..I need to Get married Fast!” – Funke Akindele Laments! Nollywood actress and producer of award winning movie, Jenifa, Funke Akindele, may be rich, famous and widely celebrated, but something is still missing in her life: a husband. The actress whose nine months old marriage to Kenny Oloyede crashed about three months ago, bared her mind recently when she said she would want to settle down fast and start bearing children, seeing that age is not on her side. In her mid-30s, Funke said she is praying to God for her own man soon. “Man proposes and God disposes,” she said, waxing spiritual, “so people should keep their fingers crossed and pray for me to meet the bone of the bone of my bone and the flesh of my flesh and not somebody else. “It is one of my dreams to bear children soon and I believe it will come to pass soon. Once I start my home, I hope to cut down on acting so that I can give my family more attention,” she says. “Some of my mates have more than three kids today,” Funke laments, again going spiritual; “Perhaps, this is how God wants me to be for now. When the time comes, and that time could be anytime, I hope to put acting on hold for a family.” She also has a word for all those guys who are scared of asking for her hand in marriage: “To all the guys scared of approaching me for marriage, I say, you don’t have to let inferiority complex overwhelm you". http://247nigerianewsupdate.com/oh-god-i-need-bone-of-my-bone-to-get-married-again-funke-akindele/

Ogbeche77: No banks don't deduct any commission on corpers alawee, they don't even charge for alert... I can bear witness to that.. Thatz exactly how it ought to be, but itz very shocking that the LOCAL GOVT INSPECTORS has turned to stalking pest who wont stop sucking their corpers dry. Reason being that, those LI's receive commissions from d banks and the banks wont compesate them (d LI's) without milking we the corpers. So, no vex.... Thatz Naija 4 u. Everybody wants to make quick money. |
bigtt76: ...Just in case you're too young to understand (in summary)A pessimist sees everything bad in good situations, while an optimist sees everything good in bad conditions. I believe in my country NIGERIA. HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY. |
I love my country NIGERIA. Like diz post if u believe in NIGERIA. |
A Prayer For Naija. Dear Father in Heaven, I pray for my country. You know, looking around there's not much to celebrate, to rejoice about, but I understand You don't want us to question Your infinite Wisdom when you placed us in Nigeria. Father, I pray for Your wisdom, exactly what we need to move this country from the backwaters of backwardness. Forgive our people who want to eat the good of the land yet still curse the land, we want the best yet we wish the worst on ourselves. Lord, we are blind, open our eyes that we may see cursing our leaders doesn't solve the problem, killing our brothers and sisters, molesting our children and claiming tribal superiority is just evidence of our own wickedness. Yet we blame our leaders for the things we do. We have become very good at the latest and most popular game in Nigeria, the game called IT IS NOT MY FAULT. Father, help us understand our leaders are very flawed human beings and not gods. Help us see that like us they make mistakes and mess things up. Help us understand that the solution doesn't come in looking for political heroes. But in looking up to you, in trusting you to work things out for our good. Lord, it IS hard for me to wish my country a happy birthday. Because I haven't gotten much out of it. But I am going to do it all the same because I know that's what You want. You want me to believe the best about my nation even if I am seeing Her at Her worst. You want me to be like Jesus, to condemn less and love more. Yes, so many things have failed and are failing in this country, but I am going to just trust that there is nothing impossible for You to fix. To do. Father I thank You for how far we have come, I know it's only by Your grace that we are still together as a nation, despite our growing differences. Forgive those who work to divide and visit with judgement those who try to destabilize and destroy. Protect our women and children from monsters and animals on two feet and strengthen our men to work hard and honest for peace, for progress and prosperity. Help them fight the fight in smarter ways than butchery, looting and killing.. Lord, help us grow. On behalf of my people, Your son, Coolestboy |
