tctrills: But consuming alcohol on a moderate level is not harmful and not a sin. Sir, you are wrong and I would give you reasons why. 1. What is your definition of moderation? How much alcohol is too much. No doctor or scientist has ever defined what moderate alcohol means. 2. Alcohol's effect is long-term so even if you drink little, it has a cumulative effect. 3. As you said, people are different and a little alcohol can cause health problems for some people; the danger is, no one knows the amount of alcohol that can cause harm to themselves. There is no instrument for measuring. So each time you take alcohol, you put your body is an unnecessary risk. 4. The health problems from alcohol have little to do with drunkenness. If that's it, then everyone should quit drinking. You don't need to drink 5 bottles na like unwise people do today. You do have to drink it everyday as well. Doctors themselves drink alcohol. A cup won't stress the kidney or liver. |

tctrills: If I asked, is drinking sniper a sin or taking poison a sin, you probably would have said yes. Alcohol is poison to the liver and kidneys but unlike sniper, it works over a period of time. It does not destroy only the livers and kidneys of those who get drunk rather it poisons after a prolonged period of use. So if we are allowed to destroy our bodies then alcohol isn't a sin but if we would give an account of what we did with our bodies, then poisoning the liver is a sin. On the other hand, Alcoholism is a state where the body depends on alcohol in other to function normally. It's a medical state with a medical and professional solution. Alcoholism is not caused by drunkenness rather, it leads to drunkenness. What's the cause of the disease, alcoholism? |

tctrills: We are making the same point. You now explained that it's doctors that heal alcoholism. that makes it a disease and no longer a sin. Doctors don't cure sin. I am not comparing God to doctors. Medical knowledge also comes from God Drunkenness is a sin. I never said only doctor heals alcoholism. A lot of alcoholics among JWs have been helped to quit alcohol consumption by their brothers and sisters with God's word. All thanks to Jehovah! My conclusion is if every alcoholic drinks to stupor, get drunk, thus alcoholism is both a sin (biblical) and a disease (medical). |

It does not stop the great work doctors are doing. They are trying. There are doctors and scientists among the JWs (Jehovah witnesses and they don't have pastors). JWs takes medications. There are detox and other methods to stop alcohol dependence. There are medications for withdrawal. You can check that up. If alcoholism is treatable, can other sins be cured by modern medicine? Do you know that medications for withdrawal could lead to another addiction? Drunkenness is a sin. If alcoholics are drunkards, they are sinning too. Christianity Etc › Re: Mercy Of Jesus Christ Crucified Overcomes The Punishment Our Sin Deserves by cornelboy(f): 12:52am On Mar 28, 2022 |
Jesus was not in the beginning with God but "The Word" was Lol who did John refers to as the "word"? I've set another confusion for you. You can only confuse yourself Here are my questions again! 1. Was THE LIFE a whole being/person of the Son 2. If it's just LIFE, what happened to the spiritual body where the LIFE was taken? 1. The Bible explains that Jesus was with God before the foundation of the world. He resided in heaven as a whole complete being before he became flesh. It's not hard. God miraculously transferred him {his whole being, person} into Mary's womb. He completely left heaven. Your initial point was that Flesh and blood can't inherit kingdom of heaven, then I went further to show you that if your understanding of that verse means HUMAN won't be in heaven because they are flesh and blood, then NO HUMAN WILL BE on EARTH either because the same kingdom of heaven will extend to earth. Humans will be in God's Kingdom but in a spirit body (not with as physical man, flesh and blood). The kingdom will come to earth (earth is different from heaven Mr spoon feeder) to rule and judge the earth. I don't know the body the people (kings) in the kingdom and Jesus their KING will have, it's not explicitly stated in the Bible but the people on earth they will rule and judge are humans with flesh and blood. In a nutshell, since Kingdom of heaven will be both in heaven and earth then no flesh and blood will enter it. You don't even understand the Bible and JWs articles. The kingdom was established for a reason. Daniel 2:44. After it has accomplished its purpose, Jesus will hand over everything to God {the kingdom, his authority..}so that God can rule over ALL. Jesus will be subjected to Him. God Himself will live with the righteous on earth (new earth paradise). Revelation 21;1-5 1 Corinthians 15:24-28. Do you get it or I should spoonfeed you further? I did got your foolishness and I would like you not to spoonfeed me with it in the future [quote author=Emusan post=111378620][/quote] |

1 . Whose word is this 'God created Jesus and through Jesus he created everything else' quote? Is it yours or it isnt yours? It's mine but that's what the Bible implies. 2. Would you say this 'God created Jesus and through Jesus he created everything else' quote, is you or its not you? Same as question1 3. At one point in the passage of time, was Jesus, specifically, created? I don't know specifically when he was created. But it was before the creation of the universe. 4. Is Jesus, God Incarnate or not God Incarnate? Jesus is not God incarnate. God created him in his own exact image and has been with God from the beginning. 5. What to your understanding does God Incarnate mean? God didn't become flesh. Jesus a distinct being from God, God's only begotten son who had been with God before the foundation of the world became flesh. 6. What's the implication of the phrase 'God Incarnate'? What truth about God is it indicating? It's a false doctrine. You can't see anything like that in a rightly translated version of the Bible. 7. When did the Word become Jesus? Did you want to say when the word (Jesus) became flesh? 8. What came first between the Word and Jesus? John use the "word" as a title for Jesus. Jesus was a whole complete being before he incarnate. He wasn't a literal word in God's mouth. So I wouldn't say there's a distinction between Jesus and the title used for him. tctrills: You just deflated your own words. You claim if you cannot control your drinking, you better stop. How can you stop what you cannot control? Actually, Alcoholism is treated by professionals. Millions are treated yearly. It is a medical condition with known medical solutions. Sin does not have medical solutions. You cant treat lies or wickedness in a hospital. It's straightforward. If you chose to drink but you can't control your drinking, you should stop before you become dependent and addicted to alcohol. Drunkenness is a sin. If you were not an alcoholic, but you maybe one day drank too much and became drunk, it's a sin. Control your drinking and if you couldn't, stop drinking before it becomes addiction. If alcoholics drink and don't drink to stupor, then it's not a sin but I don't think that's possible because every alcoholic I know get drunk. Is there some kind of surgery and drugs to treat and cure alcoholism? A lot of alcoholics among JWs have been helped to quit alcohol consumption by their brothers and sisters. tctrills: How come it's a sin that is treated by medical experts, mental experts, and therapy? We learn that we can only overcome sin through Christ. If you can't control your drinking, it's better to stop drinking all together. Jesus won't come down to overcome your sins for you. What a true Christian should do is seek the help and advice of other Christian brothers if he's unable to stop. The Bible is a guide for us. There's no drug to treat alcoholism. It's not a disease, it's a bad habit! It's a sin! |

So my thoughts are since she knows all the rules and regulations of the NYSC then why bothering wearing skirts to disobey all in the name of religion!!!
Like that very sickening. Even if she opt for skirt she won't feel comfortable in it with all the trainings she would go theough and man o war drills.when it not like she would die if she puts on trousers or does she thinks others females who are wearing trousers are going to imaginary hell set in her head....
I hope she doesn't find herself to blame when she later discovers that RELIGION IS SCAM I see skirt as more revealing than trousers. The fact is the same way a girl could wear skirt and sin, is the same way she could wear trousers and sin. All God wants is moderacy. God never described the type of clothing male and female should wear. Jesus in his time wore something like man robe and skirt. Only a misinformed churchgoer would think girls wearing trousers are sinning. Hell is no doubt imaginary not real, doesn't exist. The Bible doesn't support the theory of hell. Religion invented it. Comma is a punctuation mark which is used to make reading easier and be understandable. The comma is used to separate some words in that verse. Jesus was in the grave for three days after that day 2. Paradise ain't same as heaven. |

Philippians 2:6 '5The attitude you should have is the one that Christ Jesus had: 6He always had the nature of God, but he did not think that by force he should try to remain equal with God. 7Instead of this, of his own free will he gave up all he had, and took the nature of a servant. He became like a human beingand appeared in human likeness.' Jesus was created/begotten by GOD. He's the only begotten son of God. Colossians 1:15 [15]Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, Jesus existed at a point in time, he has a beginning. And was created in his Father's exact image. Everything he has was given to him by his Father. The name, authority, kingship, God's nature etc.. Jesus remained humble and will remain humble till he hand over everything back to God at the end. 1 Corinthians 15:24-28. John 1:1-5, 10-11 '1In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (i.e. Jesus Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. 2He was [continually existing] in the beginning [co-eternally] with God. 3All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him not even one thing was made that has come into being. 4In Him was life [and the power to bestow life], and the life was the Light of men. 5The Light shines on in the darkness, and the darkness did not understand it or overpower it or appropriate it or absorb it [and is unreceptive to it] 10He (Christ) was in the world, and though the world was made through Him, the world did not recognize Him. 11He came to that which was His own [that which belonged to Him--His world, His creation, His possession], and those who were His own [people--the Jewish nation] did not receive and welcome Him.' Of course Jesus is a God/god but not definitely the the same God/god John 1:1 says he was with in the beginning. Jesus himself said the Father is the one true God John 17:3. Paul confirmed it at 1 Corinthians 8:5&6 1 Corinthians 8:5-6 [5]There may be so-called gods both in heaven and on earth, and some people actually worship many gods and many lords. [6] But for us, There is one God, the Father, by whom all things were created, and for whom we live. And there is one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things were created, and through whom we live. Of course, God is all by Himself. He's the source of all life. Amen to that God created everything through his only begotten son Jesus Christ. Jesus was created first. So God is the source of all life and Father of all. Two simple questions for you please:
1. Whose word is this 'God created Jesus and through Jesus he created everything else' quote? Is it you or it isnt you? 2. At one point in the passage of time, was Jesus created.? 1. God begot Jesus and Jesus created everything else for his Father. Creation happened through Jesus but for God the Father. 2. Jesus had a beginning. He was created in the image of his Father. The Father is the original while the son is the copied image. [quote author=NNTR post=111416819][/quote] |
