bentenny:Have they increased his pay from 30k to 40k? Or the 10k nah palliative? |
I will say it again as I've always said: Nigerians deserve the leaders they have. There are good and pious Nigerians, but an average Nigerian is both too sentimental and wicked to neglect these ones. They prefer those who cajole and maltreat them for some stupid reasons best known to them. Well, the leaders of a country are the reflection of the society. It is well with Nigeria. I really hope a generation will come that will change the status quo. I really pray so because this present set of Nigerians are willing slaves to their slave masters. |
Holla911:See coverup and unintelligent excuse. This makes no political sense. Companies leaving are private companies and they have nothing to do with military base. If US wants to move against Nigeria, it will be from the aids they give. With the great enmity between US and China, most US companies have shifted their production to china because of cheap cost of production. Go check your HP, Dell and other American brands and see where they are made. The problem with most of you is that you don't understand international politics. You just paint pictures to suit your partisan defense. It's simple: Foreign companies are leaving because of unfavorable economic policies by the Nigerian government. Qatar Energy didn't accept the romance to come invest in Nigerian economy because economic policies in the country are hostile to investments. Maersk won't take the $600 million for the same reason. Which reasonable investor will invest in a dwindling economy? |
I just look at some stupid idiots who always see it as no big deal when big foreign companies close down. Most of them don't know the implication on that on the economy and the perception it gives other investors about your economy. I always can't wrap my head around the fact that some supposed educated citizens still support the unintelligent policies of this government. Some of them even laud the government when foreign companies fold up. P Please, what message are you sending to other potential investors? |
What is wrong with this England commentators, are they commenting on the match or supporting a club? At least, I've heard them mention up to 3 errors of the ref against City. I wonder why they don't see or counter ref's and VAR glaring erratic decisions during EPL games. Is this what they call professional commenting? I think any local fanboy will do better, if it is. To dey hear the commentary in unknown language seems to make more sense than this there nonsense self. |
ShyDare:Yes he needs to tell players to close opponents down. That's why he's the coach. Pattern and tactics of play should be dictated by him not the players. Man U players are too far from each other when they lose the ball but choke themselves up when they have the ball instead of creating spaces. They give much room for opponents and do not take close marking. With this you need a bit technical player to undo the marker and free his teammates. This has been the highlight of the game so far. These, my Dear are aberrations that should be corrected by the coach starting from training ground. The work of coach goes beyond merely selecting players and doing substitution |
Ezewuzie01:You only have moral grounds to talk when you have given more than he has given. I don't know what is wrong with a lot of Nigerians. Do something, you will not do. The person who does, you will condemn. Is that not a form of mental disorder fuelled by low self esteem? You're here talking as if you've dug a well in your village before. Or are you doing this because of politics? I think so. You're likely an APC member. Very possible. |
Difrent:Please, where is their state government, local government, and senators in all these? I think some of you are so base that you don't know it's not the right of a private citizen to build you basic amenities. The fact that the recipient of the gifts are not complaining but you lots forming opposition and did nothing speaks volumes. If you can't give people what they need despite appealing to you, you lost all moral grounds to despise whoever gives them half of it. Be wise and forsake stupid partisan mentality at the expense of other people's lives. |
You see why it is more difficult for Nigeria to have stable power supply than for a camel to enter the hope of a needle. These people feed off the problems |
fawaz050:But remember, the people who stood against and defeated Nazi Germany are what religion? When Nazi was killing Jews, was Germany pampered because it was a Christian state? Both world war 1 and 2 was who against who? What people are trying to say is that Northern Muslims should not condone the atrocities of these terrorists in the name of protecting Muslim brothers as Sheik Gumi is doing. People should be dealt with based on the content of their character, not religion nor ethnicity. Voices and actions of northern Muslims are not strong against bandits and terrorists. See El rufai calling bandits business men, Buhari in 2013, saying fight against book haram is a fight against north. What is Atiku saying about the situation, Buhari became president and his once peaceful home state became den of bandits right in his government. What is shettima doing about it now? Ali Ndume, what's he saying? The former rubber stamp senate President, what is he saying? These are well influential northern Muslims Where are their voices? Lost. Even the commoners have soft spot for these terrorists. So how will people take them serious. I remembered when ihejirika launched an offensive on book haram, it was still the same northerners that were being killed that complained against the general, accusing him of killing their brothers. |
seguntijan:Did you even hear yourself? A whole 5 billion naira that was sent to states governments to get palliatives for their citizens of at least 3 million people is what the president and VP will use to RENOVATE a building each, not build o, where the president might not step in the entire 4 years of his tenure. Please, how much do you think it will cost to build a mansion? Wigwe's Ikoyi Mansion with all the automation was valued at 10billion naira. Famfa Oil Sky scrapper building at Alfred Rewane was valued at 60 billion naira. Here is a government wanting to renovate a building for 5 billion naira and you're here defending what is indefensible with boldness. How some of you reason is beyond what a sane mind can comprehend. Sometimes, you can't but conclude that some Nigerians are not smart enough to be Nigerians. |
It's a pity that many people are fools. When it was time to remove subsidy, it was sudden- his first day in office. No hesitation. Floating of naira, no hesitation. Increasing salary of executives by 114%, no debate. Increasing salary of judges, no delay. Government has saved a lot of money from these and we have not seen any major project from the government in the past 1 year. But when it's time to increase the pay of the common man, the matter suddenly becomes an insurmountable mountain. And some people still find ways to support the government? Some people are very silly. That was how they supported and blessed Buhari for 8 years while the people suffer. I think many Nigerians don't know that freedom is not given but earned. What is yours is not given to you easily, it is demanded and fought for. No government is interested in the masses (not even in the so called scanner climes) unless people fight for their rights. Go and check the last protest in France and see how commoners challenge Macron face to face, shoulder to shoulder. That's democracy. Challenge your leaders and demand for your rights, not foolishly following anyone in the name of being a leader. |
AntiChristian:I hope it is John, Samuel, Deborah, Ruth and so on that were killed on the queue. |
Acidosis:You sounded like a paternity fraudster. What the guy said is clear. That someone was ignorant to accept you and it went well for him doesn't mean you should be ignorant too. Go and read the story of Gbenga Olawepo Hashim, a former presidential aspirant. You will understand what he's trying to say, if it's that you truly don't understand. |
Angelfrost:Tinubu and his family, APC and all those politicians are no saints. Stop talking as if they are fighting for the common man. Jonathan spoiled Nigeria but Buhari and Tinubu spoiled it more. Do not paint Tinubu as a saint to us. As Buhari failed in economic policies and used Jonathan's government as excuse for 8 years which you applauded, so also is Tinubu failing and you have started to blame Buhari for the next 8 years. It baffles me why a lot of Nigerians don't think deeply when it comes to national matters. Instead of holding the government by the jugular to be accountable, you're here defending failing policies. This is not democracy we have in Nigeria, it is foolocracy. Many Nigerians don't know that rulers are not to be pampered or worshipped but be scrutinized and supported when the are walking in the right path for the common good. A leader is a citizen just like everyone. Anyone who applies to lead is like applying for paid employment. You don't become stronger than your employer. The maximum a leader should get is respect, which is even reciprocal. In short, stop taking sides with Tinubu. He has not even performed to Buharis level yet. Purchasing power has dwindled, banditry increased, naira to dollar high, no infrastructure yet, no effect of savings of subsidy removal on the economy and so on. Rest... |
Exousiang01:Do you even understand anything? Someone is pointing that the commonwealth is being looted you're here arguing that it wasn't the senate only that approved the robbery. How some Nigerians think is beyond what a sane man can comprehend. Sane Man: Boko haram is burning your house. Foolish Man: You're wrong, it is both Bandit and boko haram. Stop talking trash. People of God, please, what does it matter, whether boko haram or Bandit? Is the most important thing not to quench the fire? |
I laugh at Nigeria when we talk about electricity, especially when Minister Adelabu talks. His knowledge of power sector is very low. I guess he didn't know that Nigeria needs up to 40,000MW to meet its load demand. Yes, DISCOs have problem but Nigerian electricity problem is not just about discos. - From Genco, installed capacity is around 15,000MW, and they generate 4000MW or less in many cases. That's about 25% of installed capacity and 10% of national electricity demand. Not because, of anything but gas issue. Basing majority of generation on gas is a big problem. Diversify! - At transmission company, the wheeling capacity- maximum their network can take is 7000MW, but they always claim it's 8000MW. Well, let's say 8000MW. Now if Genco were to solve gas issue, and generate at 80% of installed capacity, say 12,000MW, can transmission deliver? No! else there will be a total comatose of TCN network. TCN network needs upgrade and expansion. Their system is weak already; and coupled with limited generation is the reason for many grid collapse witnessed in recent times. Their performance in February was terrible. Although, many people thought it's the Discos that decided not to give them supply. - For Discos, by installed capacity, they can actually take whatever is generated up to 12 to 15,000MW. And that is why they have load shedding. They ration power supply to different areas. But they also need expansion to create more substations and revamp the existing network equipments. The major problem with Discos is that they are private and want to make profit by all means, whether they satisfy consumers or not. Some of their investors are just in for the money, not efficiency of their discos. A lot of them believes in ramping up revenue through estimated billing. This is where government has to do more in policy enforcement, not just making it. Estimated billing should be wiped out as soon as possible. All customers should be metered. The government should look into this. Also, once estimated billing is eliminated, electricity subsidy should be removed so that Discos bill on cost reflective tariff. Discos not offtaking all power available: Energy theft is rampant in Nigeria, and that is why most discos, choose areas where they give more electricity. Areas with more theft will see less supply because it's going to be a loss of revenue for Discos. They prefer to supply areas with less thefts and where they can get 90 to 95% of their money. There should be strictness on punishment for energy theft if things will change. Again, Discos should be monitored. I mean well monitored and forced to revamp their network A percentage of their revenue should be mandated for upgrade. Most of them don't do upgrade, for them, it's all about the profit. Customer rights should be given optimum consideration and it shouldn't be difficult for customers to report any form of right violation. A lot has to be done in power sector, from making policies, enforcement and investments. TCN and Discos still need investments more. - |
marenx:Nonsense talk |
eliyke:You dey mind yeye people? Some of them even behave as if they have been demonized. Then, if you tell them Buhari was failing, they will argue till death and call you different names. There is even one of them that calls Buhari their "darling daddy". 8 years down the line, darlingness switched to Tinubu. Sincerely, most times you wonder if they ever think. It's difficult to debate with them because they do not even understand their side of the debate. You can try to engage anyone of them today on the present economic situation of Nigeria and see how they start calling Obi and Atiku in their debates. Please, what concerns Atiku with the price of rice or Obi with price of locust beans. Please, convince a man that didn't support any of the three candidates |
Tubulation of the manufacturing industry |
Ategberoson:You know we really need to get to that level in Nigeria where we make demands from the leaders and hold them by the jugular until they comply. Nobody should just get away with any evil. |
If dem no loot the warehouse, wetin dem gain in this country? |
Svoboda:What about thousands of employed Nigerians who will lose their jobs? Do you have jobs for them? Are you planning on creating alternatives for them? Economy is not run by sentiments. I don't understand how a lot of you people think. How should you just think of ways foreign companies would leave your country without having capable local companies to take over and also a way of reabsorbing the retrenched workers who are your citizens back into the workforce? |
Is that why they loot so hard? Chai, e don be for this country |
marlow1962:Even agbado and Ewa don cost |
Why this story? No matter the excuse INEC gives, they will never be trusted again, not even by those who were favoured today by it. You don't make a promise today and then trivialise it tomorrow to cover for why you can't deliver on it. The point is that 90% of last year's voters will not even see this your story. They will always believe that you're a failure. First impression lasts long. It will be surprising if the next election sees up to 3/4 of last year's voters. |
Firstorderwizard:The question is how much does government import? Majority of importation is done by private enterprises. And mind you, for all importations, government collects a percentage as import duties from them. The Nigerian economy is majorly driven by private sector. Therefore, government's import is lower compared with it exports |
Obrigardo:Easy, that was the same way the Soviet Union was disjointed by the US and their allies. You need to know that there are no good guys in this world, not Russia, not China nor US NATO, not even Africa. Everything you see playing out is power tussle and selfish interests. It's purely politics, no genuine good intentions meant for the others. Africa need to wise up and take advantage of Russia, China and US/Europe. It is folly to take sides with any of them from an international politics pov. Wisdom is to exploit their divisions and grievances towards each other to our advantage. That's the way top countries got to the top. Our politicians if only they can be smart enough, but it's a pity most of them are political and economic dullards at the world stage. They are only good at oppressing their country men |
nairalanda1:Who incurred the debts? Useless APC. All of you were applauding the fool when he was getting loans to construct non functional railways and sold yet to be explored crude oil. Instead of the unfortunate one to invest in human development and tackle insecurity, he was sharing money to corrupt APC and many hungry fools were here defending failure, including this mistake of a president. We are here today because many Nigerians don't think. They just support with emotion and sentiments. They choose ethnicity and religion and party affiliation over people's antecedents and qualities. Until Nigerians can have independent and clear thinking and stand where they ought to, nothing will work. Peace |
AllenSpencer:You started from Nakbha in 1948. Why don't you start from Jerusalem A.D 70? I doubt you've ever come across such history. This war didn't start 70 years ago. It's terrible that these gen zs are given to social media story instead of real history. The forefathers were truly wise even without books and social media. |
See dragging o. Nawa o. You come say make common man dey pay? Imagine government owing NEPA 47 billion I no trust say some of the MDAs self never bypass their meters, especially the ones having 1 million plus. Make dem check them well. You can never trust anyone in this country. |
highchief1:See your consolation words for your wrong choice at the polls. Obi is not the president, so you wouldn't be able to tell. Focus on Tinubu not Obi. |
