The issue is Pastor Adeboye generalised the prayer. He said Your colleagues will come and beg you for food. He didn't say the colleagues will be members of RCCG only.

What an Intermediary is supposed to do is to bring people to Christ and to avoid taking any glory or position belonging to Jesus. That's why the 2John verse you quoted stressed on the importance of an intermediary abiding by the teachings of Jesus. You can't be a Christian without a personal relationship with Jesus.
