TravelRe: Can F1 Visa USA Student Work Online As Freelancer? by Cousin9999: 2:13am On Jan 20, 2022
The visa itself clarifies this issue. You can also check the official website of US immigration.

But I don't see how that would be a problem unless:
1. Visa restricts your work hours and you're physically at a job sites beyond those hours.
2. Your online job hires you as a W-2 employee or other official employee to work hours outside the restriction.

If there's no official contract with specified hours beyond your restriction, and you're just doing projects/tasks, the odds of the government trying to "get" you are pretty slim. That said, I suppose it's possible.

Foreign AffairsEthiopia Says Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus Has Links To Rebellious Tigrayan Forces by Cousin9999(op): 12:23am On Jan 19, 2022
Ethiopia's foreign ministry has called on the World Health Organization (WHO) to investigate its leader for supporting rebellious forces fighting the Ethiopian government.

WHO director general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, who previously served as the Ethiopian health minister and foreign minister, said earlier this week that aid was being blocked from getting through to his home region of Tigray, where rebellious forces are fighting the central government.

"Tedros Adhanom's moral, legal and professional standing that threatened WHO's organisational standing," Ethiopia said in a statement late on Thursday. "He has spread harmful misinformation and compromised WHO's reputation, independence, credibility which is evident from his social media postings."

The WHO said in an emailed response to Reuters request for comment that it was aware that Ethiopia's foreign affairs ministry had sent a diplomatic communication, called a note verbale.

It said the WHO "will continue to ask the Ethiopian government to allow access to deliver humanitarian supplies and services to the 7 million people in Tigray, Ethiopia..."

The "WHO and partners have been repeatedly calling for urgent and unimpeded access to deliver humanitarian heath supplies and services to the people in Tigray."

The government has denied blocking aid and has accused the rebellious forces of the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF) of requisitioning trucks sent in previously.

Ethiopia's army chief has previously accused Tedros of trying to procure arms and diplomatic backing for the TPLF. He denied that.

Thousands have been killed in the conflict in Tigray, which spread to two neighbouring regions in northern Ethiopia before Tigrayan forces were forced to withdraw back to Tigray in December.

The United Nations says the government is operating a de facto blockade of humanitarian aid to Tigray; no trucks have entered the region since Dec. 15.

More than 90% of the population needs food aid and doctors told Reuters last week that many people - including malnourished children - are dying because no medicine has been permitted to enter Tigray.

On Thursday, Tedros tweeted "People in #Tigray #Ethiopia, living under de facto blockade for over a year, are dying from lack of medicine & food, & repeated drone attacks. @WHO & partners call for safe, unimpeded access to deliver humanitarian aid to the millions of people in great need."

The WHO said that its main call and that of the international community was to get access to those affected and for all parties to use political action to achieve peace and security.

"This is true for Tigray and elsewhere in northern Ethiopia," it said.

Ethiopia's foreign ministry said Tedros failed to show integrity and professionalism and was a member of the TPLF, which dominated Ethiopian politics for nearly 30 years before Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed's appointment in 2018.

"Tedros encourages the TPLF in his media engagements and celebrates what is presumed to be a military success of the group, besides engaging in selective outrage where he discriminately addresses the humanitarian concerns in Ethiopia," the ministry said.

The government designated TPLF a terrorist group after the war erupted in November 2020. Tedros, a Tigrayan, was a member of the TPLF. Abiy also served as an intelligence chief under the previous TPLF-led government.

Tedros was elected the WHO's first African director general in May 2017 with strong Ethiopian and African support. He ran again as the sole nominee in October. Ethiopia withheld its support and 28 other countries appointed Tedros for a second five-year term.

Car TalkSubaru Unveils A 1,073HP Electric Race Car by Cousin9999(op): 11:33pm On Jan 17, 2022
Subaru is still new to EVs, but that isn't stopping it from unveiling more ambitious projects. Electrek reports the automaker has introduced two concept EVs at the Tokyo Auto Salon, including its first all-electric race car. The STI E-RA Concept hints at Subaru's upcoming track vehicle with 1,073HP of total power from its four Yamaha motors, extensive downforce and all-wheel drive mated to a "unique" torque vectoring system that maximizes grip and stability.

While the 60kWh battery is relatively small, Subaru is confident the E-RA can thrive on the track. It's hoping to set a Nürburgring lap time of 6 minutes and 40 seconds at some point in 2023. That's not as quick as VW's ID.R (6 minutes 5 seconds), but it's comfortably ahead of road cars like Tesla's Model S Plaid (7 minutes 35 seconds). The company plans to test the E-RA at Japanese racing circuits later in 2022.

RomanceRe: How Do You Even Sleep With Your Cousin?? by Cousin9999: 11:10pm On Jan 16, 2022
1. Some cultures don't consider it wrong, for example, Latin American and West Asian. Not even health issues make them stop.

2. Some people are obsessed with pale skin, and they do it purely to have light children. For example, south Asians, west Asians, Latin Americans, Black Americans.

3. Some groups do it because they're a minority in a country and want to preserve their numbers despite little immigration from their group, e.g. oyinbos in Australia and South Africa, and Asians in various countries.

4. Some communities are small and somewhat isolated. And have large families (5+ children typically). They don't even realize the person they married is a cousin. Some ethnicities will deliberately marry outside their race because they're afraid the person might be a cousin.

5. Some people believe in "royal blood" and that royals must inbreed to preserve it.

6. Small, tight-knit communities that practice polygamy can result in someone unintentionally doing it due to lots of kids sharing a father.

Men who say these things about women sound as if they despise them. And often when a man feels that strongly against women, it's because he likes men.

You can tell a lot about a culture and nation from the status of its women.

Why Is She Black?

Whenever a conversation about the Black Madonna does arise, it causes controversy. People gravitate naturally to the question “Why is she black?” They sense how abnormal it is for any saint, let alone the Mother of God, to be depicted as anything other than white in Medieval Europe.
There are several theories that attempt to answer this question.

The most simplistic one, of course, comes from the Church.

It Was Unintentional
If candle smoke and the elements were so harsh on the pictures and statues, why didn’t more saints end up black? After centuries of exposure, only the Virgin Mary is dark. And it just so happens that the elements darkened only her skin. The colors of her clothes seem to have withstood all that smoke.
Even with the little we know about Black Madonnas, we can be certain of one thing. Their existence was intentional.
Mary herself must have had dark skin, considering she was born and lived in the Middle Eastern lands.
But in the old religions, Gods existed alongside Goddesses. And these Goddesses were very often depicted as black.
The color black was not seen as evil. It was associated with the night and its proximity to the Divine and the Unconscious. Most of all, however, it was associated with the earth and fertility. The blacker the earth, the more fertile it is.
During one of the biggest natural disasters in Europe — the 1248 landslide in Savoy, France that obliterated an entire valley and thousands of people — one of the few surviving buildings was the church in Myans. According to legend, the church was spared because, at the time of the landslide, worshippers were praying to the Black Madonna inside its walls.

The Black Madonna in Czestochowa, Poland has a longer list of miracles in her history.

Great advice.

I would also ask that young, unmarried be VERY careful. Fear the institution of marriage. Do not jump in. Go in soberly. Attend at least a year of marriage counselling before delving into marriage. It is for life.

Here's an idea if you want to make something cheap, fast, and filling; Amatriciana (bacon chili tomato sauce).

Bacon, tomatoes, garlic, chili pepper, basil, oil, black pepper, salt, a bit of romano (not parmesan) cheese, and pasta of your choice.

RomanceRe: My fiancee Finds It Difficult To Cook & Do House Chores, Is This A Red Flag? by Cousin9999: 12:20am On Jan 16, 2022
She works long hours.

Get some cleaning and cooking devices to make both easier and faster. You can also do it together to lighten the load. And you can agree to eat out a couple nights a week.

Try a steam cleaner, broom vac, and portable dishwasher and portable washer for cleaning (if you can afford it, get large appliances). Get an air fryer, toaster oven, microwave, and manual veggie chopper for cooking.

Another thing you can do to make things easier is cook in bulk, and plan easy meals like pasta. For example, make a big pot/tray of jollof, and a big pot/tray of chicken on Sunday.

FamilyRe: What Are Your Thoughts Of Teenage Dating by Cousin9999: 11:45pm On Jan 15, 2022
They don't need to be doing that until college. However, don't shame them if they do.

Just explain that they need to focus on themselves, their future, and just enjoying their life as a young man/woman. There's plenty of time for dating later.

It seems like most of the time it's peer pressure that makes them want that. But if there's a friend they have, and the friend is a good kid, make an exception. But chaperoned dates only.
