This thread reminds me: a truck driver in the US or Canada makes $70k/yr In the UK, they make about 20k less. People also need to remember that your mentality, work ethic, and savviness play a role. That's the difference between someone who works their way up, and someone who just complains that it's not easy enough. It's also the difference between someone who realizes Nigeria is a great place to be a small businessman, and someone who has no idea. |

I love the feel of African hair. The soft, puffy hair rubbing against your face or body, or in between your fingers. I hadn't thought about Serena's impact in other ways, but she's carried tennis on her back her whole career. I don't remember if it was slightly before or after Serena, but there was some biracial player that went public about severe sexual and racial harassment. I think she ended up quitting the sport because it was too much (Serena's dad prepared his children for racial harassment). Fast forward and the sport is welcoming black and biracials with open arms. That's not because of anyone besides Serena (no disrespect to black players before her). And it's not just about less racism. It's about money. That brings me to my next major point: Serena is singlehandedly responsible for the massive increases in sponsor money and overall earnings in the sport of tennis over the last few decades. Serena brought new audiences to the sport. She brought more viewers to tennis events in general. And none of these new players, networks, events, or anyone or anything else within the sport would be seeing revenue like this were it not for Serena. She gave it a relevance that none of its stars before her could. There were athletes with marketability. There were activists. But none of them transformed the appeal of the sport. |

Look, virtually any degree has value abroad. The reason you hear so many stories that contradict that is many people are lazy. They don't want to do what it takes to get their degree honored abroad and work in their sector. There's also the fact that some people are able to have a better lifestyle abroad doing a trade or low skill job than they had in their profession. Also, some people just find that they've had to work so hard to establish themselves that they don't want to do even more labor to work in their sector. It becomes too much and they simply find something else, like nursing. |

Goddys:Find some slightly fat oyinbo girl from the 'Shires. But you have to be willing to live/work outside the city. All you have to do is make her feel special and she'll give you all her money. Her parents will be happy she's not with a bum or freak. Make sure her parents aren't freakshow racists. If they're cool, they'll hook you up with a job and help in other ways. If you want an African or Caribbean girl, the "easiest" way is by becoming a doctor. I suppose a PhD would work as well. But I don't know how common it is to just scoop a black Brit girl as a foreigner without papers unless you're rich, pretty, or you have h3lla game. If you're very handsome and physically fit, they'll snatch you up in a heartbeat. Even if you're not particularly good looking, if you have a nice body, they'll want to hire you. If you expect to get hired without being in the country, you'll probably have to seek seasonal work, at resorts and hotels, through a contracting company. They're not hiring you to be a waiter, they're hiring you to be attractive and flirt with middle aged and/or fat white women, who will spend a ton of money at the establishment. This is definitely a way to get into the position you actually want, but you have to be careful that they don't just see you as a pretty boy. I'm sure you're more qualified than the dûmb Indians they keep hiring, so you shouldn't have a problem. 1 Like |
