Olucheye: She said that we will get a bus directly to Onitsha from Osogbo but we have to leave very early and that from Onitsha to Umunya is like less that 300naira.

Check first if you would find a direct bus going to Awka or Enugu before entering Onitsha.

The advantage of Enugu or Awka is that you won't have to come down at onitsha to begin to look for another bus going to umunya. Awka or Enugu bus would take you directly to umunya.

And for the records Onitish to Umunya isn't more than N200 some buses collect N150 but its quite rare...don't appear like a novice in onitsha or else those guys might even charge you up to N1000. If you would be dropping at Onitsha, the place where the bus is likely to stop you guys at is upper iweka...new park. Just take a bike to where awka buses load and tell them you'll be dropping at the camp...they would stop you right in front of the gate...

oweniwe: ^ ^ oga. . Why na? Umunya is in Oyi LGA and not Dunukofia. . .

I know dunukofia shares boundaries with Awka, idemili and oyi...but its very difficult to classify where their various towns fall under.

I just remembered Nteje which happens to be in Oyi, and from Awka, after Nteje you have umunya...so I guess you're right...it definitely is in Oyi LGA. Sorry for the error.

That thread is for 2012 batch C...that's why it was closed.

We're currently in 2013 batch A...so definitely a new thread has to be opened.

Like i read on the thread, We will have to head out to Benin then from there we can find our way to Awka.

The camp is in umunya town, dunukofia LGA. So although you'll board a bus going to awka or Enugu, you're definitely not going to alight in awka...where you should drop is umunya.

The place is very easy to locate cos...

1. The road is very dusty and still under construction.

2. There is an NYSC monument in the centre of the clay road.

So after alighting at umunya (in front of the camp) cross to the other side of the road and take a bike to the camp premises.

Feel free to ask any question if you're lost.

We allowed the 2012 threads to keep running instead of opening new ones for 2013.

The reason was to enable you guys have a little experience from the previous batch about the state which you were posted to.

If you take your time to read the 2012 batch C bayelsea thread, I'm sure that your question would be answered.

Also, if you wish to start a 2013 bayelesa thread, you can go ahead...I won't lock it. I'm thinking of renaming the 2012 thread reference thread, and opening a new one for 2013.

I use UBA and FCMB

I love UBA cos its easily accessible...UBA physically dominates almost every state in Nigeria, therefore you don't need to ask anyone before you see a UBA ATM stand, unlike some banks where you'll have to travel miles just to make a deposit or withdrawal.

FCMB on the other hand, is also good...I've been using them for quite a while, and so far, they've been good.

The beginning lines almost got me...but when I read the concluding part...(A naked ghost telling them to keep away from the apple) I knew the whole story was made up.

There are three kinds of re-deployment that's being done in the the orientation camp.

You can re-deploy on health grounds...what most guys do. (But you must present valid proof)

For security reasons (that won't work in kebbi since kebbis is cool for now)

And for marriage reasons (for ladies only)

If you're redeploying, you must remember to fill a redeployment form in your second week at the orientation camp, and attach all necessary documents (medical report, marriage certificate etc).

A list will come out at the last week of camp, showing successfully redeployed corp members and their new states.

So for those re-deploying, you wont be giving a PPA letter after camp, but a redeployment letter.

So you just go straight to your new state and find a PPA for yourself at the new state.
