sunlux: let me tell you pastor adeboye will not make heaven, if jonathan and some cabals can come to holyghost redemption program and the truth of the story of what we are going through in nigeria was not open to our president and the cabals, our pastor kept quite they did not mention the criminality of our leaders, what are they doing in the church? if the church can not say the truth, what are we doing? where are we going? Its obvious that you don't read your bible...when king David killed uriah in 2Samuel 11 and took over his wife, God sent Nathan the prophet to rebuke hum for what he did in 2samuel 12. Now Nathan who was a prophet sent by God to deliver a message of such magnitude could have just approached him and said you wicked murderer and adulterous creature...why did you kill uriah...? But did he do that...no he didn't. Verse 1 of 2samuel 12 tells us of the parable Nathan told david. Note the polite manner he used in approaching him.. You can't expect pastor Adeboye to begin to rain courses on Jonathan...God wouldn't be pleased. He must display politeness, humility and wisdom in whatever approach he decides to adopt for sending the message to the president...that's how christians should act. |
dopeJemi: My point exactLyIts up to them to believe...from what I've seen so far on Nairaland, many of them have their minds made up. So trying to win them over would seem almost impossible cos they would end up ridiculing you and your faith. Let's leave them to God...hopefully be would change their hearts before its too late. |
Goshen360: ^^^ If such is symbolic, what then is the reality in the new testamentReality...I'm surprised that you're asking this question. Are you not aware that Paul's aprons were healing people...that's the reality. Acts 19:11-12. And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul: 12 So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them. The aprons which were used to clean his flesh ...the flesh is symbolic because its synonymous to Christ's healing with the clay... The clay and the flesh are the same. |
They don't believe heaven exist...so I see no reason why they should make it. |
mumumugu: Pastors are always right. They dont err.if a pastor say u should put ur hand in fire, do it. . It is christ that speaks through him. LolYou're so right my brother may God bless you for this statement. I don't know why the op is ranting...a deep look at the scriptures shows that prophets of old including Jesus did similar things. Below we can see prophet Elisha in action with Naaman. 2kings 5:9-14. So Naaman came with his horses and with his chariot, and stood at the door of the house of Elisha. 10 And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean. 11 But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the Lord his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper. 12 Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? may I not wash in them, and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage. 13 And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean? 14 Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean. Jesus did the same below. John 9:1-7. And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. 2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? 3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. 4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. 5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. 6 When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay, 7 And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing. If you ask me...the case of Elish and Naaman was about obedience...verse 13 of the first passage proofs my point. God tests us from time to tim to see how far we are willing to obey his voice regardless of how ridiculous it might sound. The second passage was Jesus mixing the earth with his saliva and curing a blind of his blindness. Normally in our days if a pastor does such, we would liken him to a herbalist...how ignorant we are. Let's tackle that John 9 verse by verse...from verse 6 Verse 6 says... When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay, He spat on the ground. The intention of Christ was, to restore sight to the blind man, but he commences the operation in a way which appears to be highly absurd; for, by anointing his eyes with clay, he in some respects doubles the blindness Who would not have thought either that he was mocking the wretched man, or that he was practicing senseless and absurd fooleries? How ignorant they are...the clay composed of dust is the figure of christ, cos the dust denotes the earthly nature of his flesh... The spittle which came from his mouth, denotes the Divine essence of the Word. They are symbolic... Verse 7... And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing. Unquestionably, there was not, either in the clay, or in the water of Siloam, any power or fitness for curing the eyes; but Christ freely made use of those outward symbols, on various occasions, for adorning his miracles, either to accustom believers to the use of signs, or to show that all things were at his disposal, or to testify that every one of the creatures has as much power as he chooses to give them. If you observe the first passage I posted, you'll notice that Elisha also made a similar statement. Now the term "Wash" doesn't mean we should take a bath in the bar beach or the river niger...christ is simply telling us to cleanse ourselves from spiritual filth, such as lies, immorality, deceit...etc. In that way, it would be much easier for us to benefit from his abundant blessing. Today's preachers are just following christ's footsteps, so I won't condemn them. |
ifyalways: well, my view is that "students" that could afford an ipad should have no problem with paying their "school fees"Bu ha ha ha...ify you harsh o! |

ogbeche77: Even while in camp, boredom may still set in, it depends what one sets his/her to, if you decide not to participate in any camp activities, don't roll with fellow corpers & try to make friends.. Then that's boredom at Phd level.. Worst of all, if you fall sick in camp... Chai.. That's the worst of allVery true...most people are so obsessed with this re-deployment stuff that they deprive themselves of the basic experience they should have had in the camp. Well I won't blame them though, I would blame the government for not making the nation safe for people to sleep with both eyes closed. Finally, like you stated earlier...the three weeks in camp is the best thing that can happen to any corper...most ppa experience are just nothing to write home about most especially if you're being posted to a remote village. |
Ellylace: Bonjour Monsieur Crazyman...my weekend? Boring as hell..Eyah...I'm so sorry, how come it was bored. I used to think that Abj was the livest city in Naija...but don't worry, the countdown is almost up, and I'm sure that once in camp, the word boredom wouldn't exist in your vocabulary. ![]() |
Rocktation: Goodmorning guys! Goodmorning Crazyman.Sorry, I didn't see it earlier. Well since my section is mostly made up of transit members, I decided to ask them how they felt about the whole nomination stuff. From their response, it was very clear that they cared very little about the section poster award...most were bent on collecting their federal and state alawi, others were stuck to the prospective batch A room, and showed no sign of coming out. A poster even advised me to forget about the whole stuff cos it wouldn't serve its purpose...so I decided to drop the whole idea. But to be honest, I'm sad that it didn't hold in my section... |

Yea it happens...those who viewed the thread in the last 10 minutes would have their handles displayed at the bottom...that's why at times even after you've left a thread, your handle would still be present there. About the invisible stuff...I believe it occurs when you open more than one Nairaland page on your web browser... There might be other explanations in regards to your observations, but the ones I posted are what I've personally observed. |

Hmmm...I don't understand this thread... |
To add to what some posters have previously posted...below are a few tips on how to have a successful relationship. 1. Be sure of what you want: I've come across countless threads on Nairaland. And by merely reading a few lines, you'll know that they are confused. A girl would claim to love guy A, along the line, she would meet guy B, then dump guy A. Months later guy A would re-surface, and she would want him back...now she's confused and needs our help. That seems to be the major problem most girls work themselves into. The important thing here is that you should be sure of what you want before going into a relationship...don't just dive in simply because the guy got swags, or he's well built...etc. Make sure that you both are compatible, in that way you can be sure that when eventually you both decide to date, its going to be a long term stuff. 2. Ask your conscience This may be the hardest to face, but it’s also the easiest way to create a fulfilling and happy long term relationship. Do you really think you’re doing all it takes to keep your partner happy and your relationship glowing bright? Ask your own conscience if you’re sincerely making the effort and doing the right thing to bring happiness into your partner’s life? If your conscience thinks you can come up with better ways to please your partner, it’s obvious you aren’t giving it your all. A successful long term relationship involves two lovers who care about each other’s happiness more than their own. If you can’t put your soulmate’s happiness ahead of yours, are you really in love or are you just wrapped around your own desires? We see girls asking guys for ridiculous amounts of cash, and recharge cards...such practice is wrong and can make a seeming long relationship end. 3 Never let frustrations and hatred build up Never ever let a mole hill grow into a mountain. If something about your partner or their behavior disturbs you, learn to say it out immediately. Every time you yell at a partner or find yourself getting frustrated, you have to understand that it doesn’t happen all of a sudden. Frustrations always build up slowly. What starts off as a little nagging thought slowly builds up over time into hatred and anger. But if you let things build up in your head, your partner would never understand the things that really bother you, until the day you burst out in a rage. Retaliation and ego are the two traits of humans that surface first when someone makes an accusation. Unless you’re looking for an argument, help you partner understand you better by talking about anything that bothers you, even if it seems trivial at first. [Read: How to fight fair in a relationship] 4. Be truthful and frank with each other If you want to know how to have a long term relationship, you need to learn to be truthful with each other. When you’re truthful, it’ll help your partner understand you better and know you better as a person. A little white lie is acceptable especially when the truth would hurt your partner. But if it’s something that can affect your relationship, be truthful even if the truth stings. |

What kind of help do you seek here...from your post, its obvious that you're enjoying the act. Just be very careful, cos not all that glitters is gold. What you may see as fun today, could cost you your life tomorrow. You are warned. |
Bookmarked...I would read it later in the day. |
The whole issue is that most christians embrace religion instead of christ. The numerous denominations we're having in the church today is what's killing christianity. I would suggest that we run away from religion and embrace christ. Religion kills because its crafted on lies and deception. But Jesus is the way the truth and the light...no man comes to the father, except by him. |

Abuja high class chicks indeed...nice pics though. |
If you have Jesus in your heart, then it would be advisable to have a personal relationship with Him. Once you can establish a relationship with him, forgiveness occurs. You cannot be in the world an expect God to forgive you...you must distant yourself from the world. Romans 12:2. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. You still are human and will commit sins, but you will have God to help you and you still have to ask for forgiveness on a daily basis for what you have done, even if it is just a bad thought. Finally, you must note that even though God forgives sins, there are times when you would have to bear the consequences for your actions. If you read the bible closely, you would notice that a couple of believers paid for the sins they committed...God forgave them, but they still faced the consequences. In 2 Samuel 12, we can see how Nathan the prophet rebuked David for what he did to uriah...David repented quite all right, but the consequences of his sins was the death of his son. In Numbers 20. Moses was rebuked by God for not completely obeying his voice. Moses went on serving God wholeheartedly, but he still faced the consequences for his disobedience. I can go on and on...but the bottom line of the whole issue is that you must not take advantage of God's love to commit sin, cos you'll definitely pay for every evil you commit. |
