I kind of figured it out.

I took my time to read it and believe me, it made a lot of sense.

But my questions are:
1. if that girl wasn't interested in a relationship with him, why did she accept his gift

2. If she valued that friendship so much, and it meant a lot to her as she claimed, why didn't she return back his gift with a reply note telling him of how much she values their friendship.

3. Why is it that most girls display this greedy attitude to unfortunate guys who pick up the courage to express their feelings? WHY

I would advise you to be patient with him; because with time he would get over her and love you. So relax.

I would leave her of course and look for someone else but that would be after I must have sympathised whith her

University relationship does work out. In fact, it would be very difficult for any girl who finishes her university and NYSC, and didn't secure a guy in the process to get a husband; because most marriages I know of  all have their foundations in the universities or NYSC camps.
