heavyg: Sorry I came with a sour post on your sweet thread... But this is my reality...for now. For many, the first 2-3 years are tough but if the foundation is solid, they scale thru. Communication cannot be over-emphasized. U need to maintain a sound 2-way communication stream as this will help u get thru the trying phase in ur marriage. Pele.. |

mulante: Well, you should have consulted him first. A simple phone call would have sufficed.
He probably just afraid and overreacted. Try to make him understand that it is an easily reversible procedure and that there is no damage done.
If he still persists, then you should know that the devil has opened your case file. Hey...it's like u read my mind.. |

He will eventually calm down at some point ..then U can make him see that it is easily reversible. I guess he is schocked you took that decision without consulting him..which could be an expected reaction.
Meanwhile...avoiding him wont help u get him to understand why u did it. U need to find a way to turn on his "mumu buttons" once again and get him to understand with u. The malice is totally unnecessary. |

tivta: Lol, you think PhD in Nigeria is beans? Ok oh as you want it, but know this, education is meant to teach you your rights as a citizen and not make someone brilliant (bill Gates, mark Zuckerberg, Richard brandson, Steve Jobs etc all did not have degrees) but I agree with you on the importance of character... Good luck with your degrees. I already have my MBA & Iv no interest in PhD..so ur "goodluck with your degrees" dosnt apply to me. Ur deviating here cos ur point is that women shuld go further only when married. My point is that PhD has nothing whatsoever to do with a long lasting marriage. The character of the individual does. |
Family › Re: Why Most Marriages Never Exceed 10years by Creamish(f): 9:01am On Feb 02, 2016 |
tivta: My dear I said PhD not masters, just ask them... What does it take to get a PhD? How many years will it take one to get a PhD? Puhleezzee... My African parents are always proud of their children's intellectual accomplishment. This they have shown over the years. A PhD cannot stop a woman from getting & staying married... only insecure lowlifes will see it as a threat instead of pride. Like I said, it's the woman's character regardless of her accomplishment that determines the strength of her marriage. This does not exclude the men. |
Family › Re: Why Most Marriages Never Exceed 10years by Creamish(f): 7:29am On Feb 02, 2016 |
tivta: Well the truth is most African men won't tolerate such, the best option is someone raised outside the country, even African parents won't be happy to have their daughters with PhD but still single, don't believe me? Ask your African parents... The mentality of ur African Parents differs greatly from that of mine because they are pushing my sis to get her masters degree and she is still single. Same applies to the African men you have encountered. My African brothers appreciate an educated woman. |

tivta: Yet such women don't have 50 years wedding anniversary, I know what am talking about, if you have heard cobams (the blind producer) love story you would understand what am saying. One man's experience does not translate to a general policy/guideline. I know intellectually successful women who have been married that long. It all depends on the character of the individual. |

tivta: It is part of civilization, I will never marry a woman who is single and has a PhD, as far as I am concerned she needs no man, even those with masters are a handful, why don't girls of today get their masters and PhD after marriage? My mum did it so what is the fuss? I pity this generation... Does the timing of a woman's degree have anything to do with the survival of her marriage? U pity this generation because women are getting advanced degrees? Seriously? The survival of one's marriage depends on it's foundation..not a woman's degree. It should be a thing of pride to U ...not sth worth shaming generations. |

Family › Re: Who Should Sit At The Front Seat Of Your Car; Wife Or Friend? by Creamish(f): 11:36am On Jan 29, 2016 |
Onegai: You see my problem with women! Why didn't she just take keke napep home when she saw her husband and his best friend (a whole best friend! ) were sitting in the car together.Chai! Even the Bible is clear: "a man leaves his father and mother and WIFE and cleaves unto his BEST FRIEND and the two shall become one" or how about "husbands, love your BEST FRIEND as Christ loved the church". Clear examples of how important a best friend is to a man, not his wife. His wife may be sharing his bed, his intimate thoughts, endangering her life by carrying their children, supporting him financially and caring for him, but you, you are certainly more important. I like you! When you get married, if your best friend says he wants to enjoy your wife for one evening, I know you will be obliging
Because even in the little things, you cannot respect a woman enough to move your car-less arse to the back of her own husband's car. Then you will later come here to complain "she doesn't like us hanging out, she's always squeezing her face when I come over"...
shey if it was a girl's car and her husband came in, your bumbum will still be sitting down in front.. Applause! OP...there are certain things U don't brag about in public... and the below behavior isn't far from the top of the list . Gasout: Just wondering.. My friend and I went to pick his wife at her work place yesterday. I was sitting side to him in the front sit when his wife came out of her office. When she saw me at the front sit. Immediately, her countenance and look changed. perhaps, she was expecting me to move to the back sit which I politely ignore. |

MzPecs: Lol It had nothing to do with maturity, i'm sure it's connected to her social life. She actually works with a bank and on wedding arrangements, she never wanted the bridal train thingy and makeup was new to her.
Her anti-social life might force her husband go out and look for someone who's more fun! They must have dated so I doubt her anti-social life will be a concern if the hubby still chose to marry her. Nwayz.. U don't need to feel threatened by the OP's opinion.. She is entitled to it. I doubt most husband materials are on NL so they wont get to see her opinion either.. .. All that matters is the individual. Her status is just by the way. |

Romance › Re: Why You Should Marry A Working Lady by Creamish(f): 10:16am On Jan 29, 2016 |
MzPecs: This is not really making sense!
Maturity and lasting relationship is not bout being an undergraduate or working class.
What would you say bout the ladies that work and school at the same time? Our social, emotional and financial life doesn't really depends on if we're working or not.
Being independent and mature ain't bout working class or not. Have you seen a working class lady who don't know that she would makeup on her wedding day? I've seen one.
So I don't get your point! @Bold.ed .. What has make-up on wedding day got to do with maturity? enlighten me please. |

If you are not ready for marriage, don't go into it. Marriage isn't for everyone. Its better u stay single than keep a depressed woman at home cos U don't fancy the union.
Marry whenever ur ready. Ur priorities seem different. |
Family › Re: Married Guys, Please Step Up Your Game In The Bedroom!! by Creamish(f): 2:20pm On Jan 25, 2016 |
injuredman: A big question!!
Responsibilities can turn the fire low, but can't quench it fully. It is good when both partners are low in the sexual desires, but if one person still has the strong desire, it could be worked out. I had a moment like that, what helped was communication, and she also knows me ignition keys. If wifie needs it and I am not in the mode, she will do those things I appreciate or consider special. To reciprocate, I will offer to give it to her. In the process, she will inset the right keys and I will even pick it up more than her. Same thing if I need it, and she is too tired. I will fix her special meal, and let her rest. When I finish with my seductive moves without pressuring her, na she go drag me go room.
It all boils down to proper communication and knowing your partner. After all, no level of responsibilities can stop us from cooking and eating. Nice. |
