Pearl1910: Yes, the bearing is the only problem d hub almost always has. Original bearing plus proper installation is the way to go but most mechanics don't even do change of bearing because of the sensitivity. If u buy a low quality bearing or if they install a good bearing badly then u would wish u changed the hub at ones...rework, cost of bearing, and downtime... if not done right then it's gonna be more expensive than buying a hub. So because of the many dependencies, if u have d money just replace the hub with grade toks If you patronise those guys with hydraulic pressers and not those that hammer the bearing into place then you'll be fine. Have not had issues with mine since I worked on it, and its more than 4months now. |

Pearl1910: Neck and throat. Wheel bearing and hub bearing. So wheel bearing issue is actually a hub issue. Had this terrible noise coming from the rear of my vehicle, got a mech to drive the car and he came back telling me the hub was bad. A German rider told me I didn't have to change the entire hub, just the bearing. So I went to alagunto and had the wheel bearing replaced and that ended the issue. Total cost was 7k as against buying hub 14k plus mech workmanship 3k making a total of 17k. |

So much for your synthetic gospel:
... Well, for that we have to go to a company like Infineum that produces the additive packages such as PARANOX 5043 and PARANOX 5510 for synthetic lubricants.
The active ingredients are 1.94% to 4.07% by Mass (weight) the balance is Petroleum Oil. (Petroleum oil being your conventional fractional distilled oil)
That is about 98% or 96% of the "Additive Package" in ready to blend form is Petroleum Oil!!!
They (Infineum) recommend treat rate for FULLY FORMULATED lubricant (Motor Oil) of 10 to 20% of the finished product. |

dru23: Like you said na simple process.. Just add additives and you get your 5w30 and 0w20 etc ..Just a mixture of adding additives etc ...ok o
You said ..."Palm wine when you cook for Nigerian bush and the one wey you cook for oyinbo land go still give you sapele water."
Maybe I should start making these oyel in my backyard ..... Make I go look for additives na to sprinkle am to make 5w30 0w20 and 20w50 ......
Hold my beer .... I dey come .......
Mobil 1 should just close down their lab .....These guys are wasting their money na to dey sprinkle all types of additives remain now ........... Don't be lame!!! A boy in his mother's garage can come up with a molecular formulae that trumps Mobil and her so called billion dollar research. Educate your mind. E=mc² was one mans brain work, you don't need a conglomerate to make that paradigm shift. |

dru23: Plz read his post ... He said na simple process na just add additives remain. No test lab done etc ......he should not worry Dangote will soon finish building is refinery .. He will sack all the foreign engineers and replace them with the Crvrider guy......
I don't know why dangote hired all these foreign engineers. When Nigerians is capable of doing it at a cheaper cost......
Let me going now It's really hard getting stuffs into your head. Can someone with a better command of the English word explain to this guy that so long you have a standard refinery, lubricating oil is the same anywhere heated at the right temp. With that out of the way[I hope] the additives you now use in formulating your oil is what differs: e.g additives that will allow your oil perform in cold weather and vice versa and at different engine temp. |

dru23: That simple abi.. That simple that it takes 1 man Dangote to build a refinery for the whole country...lol..
A country that is not capable of refinery its own oil .. Even the petrol that are been sold is not to par they way it should .....
So just additives and that is it ...no testing of the product or quality country etc ..just add additives like you are cooking garri and vegetable stew .. A little sprinkle here and there .... Study the diagram and let's first agree on one thing first. Which is how you get lubricating oil: through fractional distillation of crude oil. Let's disregard where the oil is cooked.

NarcoPolo: Fully synthetic lube is a different kind of beast from your usual dino oil....not a product of fractional distillation at all it's actual gas converted to oil via gas to liquid technology So much for different kind of beast.

NarcoPolo: Fully synthetic lube is a different kind of beast from your usual dino oil....not a product of fractional distillation at all it's actual gas converted to oil via gas to liquid technology Then the gas you are talking about is gotten from where? |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Crvrider: 7:28am On May 30, 2021 |
dru23: There is more to it than just refining crude oil and making it into engine oil.... Millions of dollars are invested in doing research and test lab ..... It takes special technical skill to do this ...... The process is called fractional distillation. Crude heated at a certain degree gives different byproducts and at some point, lubricating oil. Whether you heat the oil in Nigeria or the U.S of A at about 300°c you get lubricating oil. Simple! Now what makes the difference is the additives. Get good additives and mix at the right ratio and I believe all will be fine. Palm wine when you cook for Nigerian bush and the one wey you cook for oyinbo land go still give you sapele water. |

BAZ001: I won’t allow you give false hope to people managing their career and thinking of resigning to start driving cos of 70k net per week. I know some of them won’t listen but let it be in record that I was shouting Noooo noooo. Ask how many people have joined d hustle and left, how many partners have sold all their fleet of cars and sit on the fence? How many people have been driving for the past 3yrs and still intend driving for next 3yrs. They can’t be more than 5%. No doubt there is money in d hustle but not sustainable. I guess at the end of the day we can't all make it driving uber/bolt. Without the doubt there are people who this hustle have helped to put their feet on the ground and it also goes the other way round as well. I can't advice anyone to quit their day jobs for this hustle, as for me I am just too lazy to come and start driving up and down Lagos before I go feed my family--just too lazy for that. Presently where I work my job demands so much from me in terms of time of resumption and the time I close [it shall never be well for covid-19] but for now I don't see myself leaving my job for this hustle. I think the hard part of this hustle is staying motivated. If one can stay motivated and disciplined enough for a set period of time then one can achieve, provided your village people allow you drink water and keep cup. |
