Rider 1: (Rush in, Ah! What's the meaning of this, you ended the ride, why?) Is it because its a card trip?

I don't agree with you on the fares. I don't think most Uber riders mind the fare really, and I'm saying this cos I ask a lot of riders I converse with why they do bolt instead of Uber. It's mostly because of the pickup times and drivers refusing to go where they're going. BUT it's mostly pickup times. Bolt rides are usually closer to the rider since bolt mostly assigns trips based on proximity. Drivers also don't want to drive 5kms to pickup someone going maybe 10km, and this is me being generous, many times pickup distances are longer than the actual trip, so drivers will rightfully cancel. This has greatly impacted on their reliability. Many drivers ported, riders ported too.
If they switch to assignment by proximity, show rider destination along with these fares, BOOM... I'm game.
I've always preferred Uber as a company but man's gotta secure the bag.
I think its different strokes for different folks. I once carried a lady on Indriver who said she preferred bolt to uber because of her perceived conviction that bolt is cheaper.

You can tell the rider to come out at the express and you guys can proceed.

That place does not have motorable roads. It might be better now, considering the fact that the rains have stopped.

And I heard the name is Jesus village now, not Monkey grin
To access monkey village you might have to go through old ojo road and that road is an eye saw.

The decay in this country has gone deep. I just laugh when people go about saying this country go better. God bless Andrew who checked out a long time ago for seeing into the future.

FRSC, VIO... act as if road laws are meant for private vehicles only, even when the road worthiness of yellow danfos are highly questionable.

I am tired...

Wait o, this tinted permit issue is it that even with your tinted permit, as long as it's not factory police has a case against you?

Cus I tinted my windows, got a permit, so watin dey sup huh
As long its not factory, bro for your own peace of mind, just yank it off. But then again if you can get doctors report I think your good.

Imagine police saying some people who where kidnapped, after being rescued said the cars had tinted glasses. They are using the kidnapping narrative.

I think AIG said no issuance of tint permit for now. And that factory tint should be exempted. Read this https://www.nairaland.com/6650000/permit-ban-cars-factory-fitted-tinted#103688971
Yep, that's correct! That's why I had to remove the front windows which are not factory.

What are they saying... Try negotiate with them don't try to be in a hurry just relax your mind in fact leave them go find somewhere chop food then come back and talk with them... The last and only time I was stopped by a DSP at okota junction it's 10k I gave them after it was satisfied the tint permit was actually fake. I'd to remove it the next day without even informing my partner. Yes! Na me dey drive d car and sufferingnit as well.

So have they satisfied your tint is fake? How was it done? If you too know it's fake then you've no other option but to beg them and negotiate a price.

Mind you all old tint b4 the IGP place a ban on tint are still valid provided its authentic with medical report so no new issuance for new tint that are not factory fitted. Those cars that came factory fitted after the ban are given 14days ultimatum to get a tinted permit for the factory glass but that tint permit issued only covers the factory, meaning no doctor's report is needed so can't go ahead to put the lynon tint in the front glasses.

Know these things so nobody will use you chop ignorantly.
Police no be people when person dey follow claim right. Had to cave in to their demands, paid them a bribe. Police are just terrible, so tey them even create office for vulcanizer who charges 250h for pumping of tire.

I don quietly use hand remove the the thing. Although the back ones are factory fitted.

Hey guys,
I need your advice.
Anybody heard about flywheel?
Please what causes it to break??
Mine has broken for the fifth time now.
First time:
Mechanic brought down the engine, removed the flywheel and bought another. He said my converter is vibrating and they (he gave it to the people who work on it) did some work on it to “stabilize it”.
Second timesadtwo days later)
They dropped the engine and said it broke at another spot. Long story short, he gave the excuse that my Corolla 04 has a different model of flywheel (old model flywheel) and sha replaced it (I had a feeling it was all bobo).
Third time: (two weeks later)
They dropped the engine and they said they went to look for “gear box specialist” from ladipo to properly investigate what is going on. Long story short, they said the guy did some work and it won’t happen again.
Fourth time: (like two weeks later)
They advised I should change my converter and the flywheel.
We did.
Fifth time: (one week later)
This is now, they are advising I should just change my whole gearbox.

Anybody has this kind of challenge please?
I need help and answers please.

This is a dumb question, the question has become stale.
You guys should look for another question to be asking, just the same question they ask when you say Lagos is rough and stressful or complain about Lagos traffic.
Next thing they will ask you are you still here?
Maybe those that complain about the way things are in this country should be told to run away. That means almost everybody will leave.
There is no such thing as a stupid question but rather a stupid answer. I simply don't get it. You complain that the shoe your wearing hurts yet you refuse to take it off.

I keep saying it here buy complete hub, most times knacking of bearings na scam penny wise pound foolish.
If car manufacturers didn't think it was necessary they won't make it a replaceable part[bearing]. The hub[housing] can live throughout the life of the car without needing to change it, except for periodical bushings and bearing changes.

Well, its a good thing you're already thinking and mapping out plans on what to do with your life after graduation and its also applauding you're already an undergraduate enterprenuer, i must say I fancy your courage, enthusiasm and mentality especially in this country Nigeria where there're limited opportunities.

get laid off may be after a few months due to bad government policies, contract jobs, companies folding up and the likes. This and Many more reasons are why most of us are found doing the uber driving job not that we enjoy it, no! But we have to make ends meet and then hope that things gets better with the state of the country for our children growing up even if not for us again because our own parents didn't suffer all of these we are currently being faced.

A word is enough for the wise.
"Advice, like talk, is cheap."

But let me start by asking you, how easy do you want it in life without putting the effort?

You paint this hustle with so much bad press that i wonder if mentally everything is alright because I can't seem to fathom why, after so many years, you're still in it?

My advice to newbies is not to be weary of people like cheerfulgiver, kanuisagoat... who are putting in the efforts now for the goal they have in sight, but rather of people like you who is in the business with the hope that one day you will get lucky.

It is really hard typing here without resisting the urge to call out your character.

Now, this is the hard truth. This hustle will not favour everyone and you're probably one of those but you fail to realise this.

By far this hustle is the easiest for anyone who owns a car.

Lastly, you talk about CEO' like they never had humble beginnings. But if you can't understand right now that this hustle is someone's humble beginning then you simply can't be helped!

Great house, just to share my experience so far in this hustle.
Started this hustle around September without any experience in e hailing at all, I was lucky to see a tokunbo car for 2million on HP from a family friend. Corolla 03 to be precise. am working in a government school, so I only work on weekends and I was able to pay 1.5m for the car within 11month after paying 500k up front before taking the car. Today am signing my car paper as owner right now. Now I can say I am financially independent, bcs with this am rest assured of seeing something meaningful every weekend.

Thanks to Mr Felicity for giving some tips back then, and thanks to others that share their experiences here all the time. I don't joke with this thread,I always use this thread to relax every night for the past 3years even ever before joining the hustle,it's really helped me so much.

Now we move, slow and steady
Now that you have the car is not the time to move slow and steady. It has to be fast and furious! grin
