It’s shameful that Mamman Daura lives in Villa, controls Presidency – Afenifere

Yoruba socio- cultural group , Afenifere , has described as shameful revelations by the daughter of Mamman Daura , Fatimah , that they have been living in the Presidential Villa for over three years .

Afenifere further stated that it was most unfortunate that an unelected man could hijack the seat of power as revealed by the First Lady , Aisha Buhari .

The Spokesman for Afenifere , Mr . Yinka Odumakin , said this during an interview with PUNCH on Tuesday .

Odumakin said , “ It is unfortunate that Nigeria has reached the point where someone who was not elected or appointed and holds no position known to our constitution has become this powerful.

“ It is a big shame and some of the personalities who are illegally in the Villa are granting interviews . It shows the level of impunity. It shows that our nation and the seat of power have been desecrated. ”

Odumakin said with the new revelation , the ball is now in the court of Nigerians to continue to be ruled by proxy or break free from the chains of the cabal .

Presidency faults Daura’s daughter over leaked Aisha Buhari’s video

A Presidency source on Monday faulted the recent release of a video by Mamman Daura’s daughter, Fatima.

The video, released in the wake of the rumour claiming President Muhammadu Buhari was going to take a second wife last Friday, had shown part of the First Lady, Aisha Buhari’s body while shouting on the need for the Dauras to leave an accommodation in the Villa.

A source, who does not want her name in prints, said that the video was shot over a year ago when the President’s son, Yusuf, had power bike accident in Abuja.

According to her, the accommodation was needed for the then recuperating Yusuf.

She said: “By now the airwaves are awash with Fatima Mamman Daura’s daughter consenting to the fact that she indeed shot and leaked the now infamous video clip which showed the wife of the President in a very angry mood.

“The incident happened over a year ago when the wife of the President on the instructions of the President asked the Dauras to vacate their living quarters inside the villa for a sick Yussuf Buhari, who was recuperating after an accident.

“For this reason, the quarters were needed and the Dauras were asked to move to another part of the Villa. Long before the accident, Yusuf’s mother had requested in writing for the Dauras to vacate the place because the building is officially designated for the biological children of any serving President.

“The IG of police, DG DSS, NSA and the Vice President who was the acting President, were all notified of this request. Despite this, the Dauras deliberately refused to comply with the instructions of the security agencies. Mamman Dauras daughter Fatima did not say this in her interview


“What really was the intent for the video being released now if not for mischief Fatima didn’t showcase her part in the drama where the door was locked against the first lady to deny her access to some areas of the villa, neither did she acknowledge the abuse she first vented before the First Lady reacted under the instruction of DG Lawal Daura, who was brought into government by Mamman Daura,” she stated

Junaid Mohammed, elder statesman and Second Republic federal lawmaker on Monday said Afenifere leader, Chief Ayo Adebanjo is not qualified to dictate to Nigerians which zone should produce the Presidency in 2023.

It will be recalled that Adebanjo, in recent interviews has advocated for an Igbo presidency in 2023 saying the country cannot claimed to be united if this is not achieved. Adebanjo said for the sake of the country’s unity, an Igbo person should be made president in 2023.

However, speaking in a chat with Daily Independent, Junaid said Adebanjo is speaking on his own and not speaking on behalf of Yorubas or other Nigerians.

He said even if the South is allowed to produce the President in 2023, it must go to the South-West.

“ How can somebody who is over 90 years old will be telling young Nigerians how to vote and who to vote for. During their time, why didn’t they have that system and why didn’t they vote like that?

“Who is denying Igbos the Presidency? Afenifere’s statement is irresponsible and mischief. Which Afenifere are we talking about because there are several factions of them?”
“Ayo Adebanjo has never been elected as the leader of Afenifere so he cannot speak for the group. The leader of Afenifere is Chief Reuben Fasoranti. So, on whose behalf is Ayo Adebanjo speaking? How many times has he won election in his constituency? Who does he represent?”

“There is another joker they now called the leader of the Yorubas, the successor to Awolowo, Professor Banji Akintoye. Who does he represent? Is he representing the Yoruba race? Have you seen anybody talking about the Yoruba race and they mention the name of Banji Akintoye?”.

“Even if he is the leader of the Yorubas, will he just go and tell the Yorubas vote this or vote that? If you go to a newspaper and publish your pictures, that doesn’t make you a leader of the Yoruba race”.
