Air Peace: Fresh facts reveals legitimate aircraft purchase Contrary to allegations that Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of thriving airline, Air Peace, Chief Allen Onyema, laundered money in the United States of America, fresh facts have emerged that the fund was used for purchase of aircrafts. Sources privy to the deal said the letter of credit showed that the funds were not channeled into any fraudulent activity in America. The United States’ Attorney’s office in Georgia, has, in a report, accused Onyema of bank fraud and money laundering, alleging that he moved “more than $20 million from Nigeria through United States bank accounts in a scheme involving false documents based on the purchase of airplanes.” The report also said that Air Peace “Chief of Administration and Finance, Ejiroghene Eghagha, has also been charged with bank fraud and committing aggravated identity theft in connection with the scheme.” But Daily Sun gathered that the alleged money was not laundered but transferred for the purchase of aircraft, which was done. It was gathered that the planes bought with the money were in use in Nigeria. Sources said to prove that the issue was an allegation yet to be proved, the US report said Air Peace chairman is innocent until proved guilty. Boeing, from which the aircraft were bought, it was gathered, did due diligence by verifying the documents supplied by Air Peace before signing the deal. It was gathered that to prove the authenticity of the transaction, the deal for purchase of the aircraft with the money was sealed at the United States embassy, where the documents were signed. A source involved in the transaction said there was no way Boeing will get involved involved in a deal with Air Peace without verifying the documents. “Boeing did verify the documents and sealed the deal. It is there surprising that some report will say the documents are fake. It is not true,” the source said. The US report had said: “ Onyema is also the CEO and Chairman of Nigerian airline Air Peace, which he founded in 2013. In years following the founding of Air Peace, he traveled to the United States and purchased multiple airplanes for the airline. However, over $3 million of the funds used to purchase the aircraft allegedly came from bank accounts for Foundation for Ethnic Harmony, International Center for Non-Violence and Peace Development, All-Time Peace Media Communications Limited, and Every Child Limited.” In conclusion, the report said: “Members of the public are reminded that the indictment only contains charges. The defendants are presumed innocent of the charges and it will be the government’s burden to prove the defendant’s guilt beyond a reasonable doubt at trial.” https://www.sunnewsonline.com/air-peace-fresh-facts-reveals-legitimate-aircraft-purchase/ Lalasticlala |

CEO of Nigerian airline indicted for bank fraud and money laundering A friend explained, the Air Peace saga below. I was Banker and still a finance man so I know the game. This is what played out here. This may not be what it seems at all. It seems like a "normal " Nigerian business man practise. Many people will be indicted if this is considered a fraud. It is essentially a deception of the Nigerian banking system but which even bank executives are aware of and get their share and the bank loses nothing at the end of the day. The american system is not defrauded by a single penny .This is how it works. 1. Mr x wants to buy 6 airplanes for his business. The cost of air planes is $1m each so total of $6m. 2. He approaches the bank for a loan but says the planes are $12m 3. He cannot get an invoice from the airplane manufacturer for that value, so he gets his own registered company abroad to issue an invoice to his company in Nigeria for the $12m . He does not claim his company abroad is an aerioplane manufacturer, but rather an aviation trading company who will supply the planes 4. Bank gives him a properly executed loan for the naira equivalent of $12m which he has to pay back and will probably also provide some guarantees and additional security and provides the fx either by transfer or by letter of credit. 5. The $ 12m is released and transferred abroad to his company ( the seller) , the company pays the $6m to the manufacturer and actually does aquire the airplanes and $ 6m balance is sent to his own personal account. The result is that the company in Nigeria which he owns is now obligated to pay back a loan of $12m instead of $6m and as long as they pay, everyone is happy including the banks who have given out a hefty loan and make thier interest, the senior bankers who approved it without the due diligence of insisting the invoice should be from a manufacturer and also checking international prices for such, the manufacturer who has sold airplanes and been paid and the businessman who has made a $6m dollar advance profit on his business before it even starts. The real problem is that the business case for the airline may not be able to support the repayment of $12m in the loan period but would have done so if the loan was only $6m. The business then fails as a result, goes into liquidation, the bank has only the asset to fall back on which is in reality on the open market below the loan value, but the biz man has his $6m and is enjoying life. Its essentially called " over invoicing" and at least 80 perrcent of business people here do it. The main difference however is that most times , the invoice comes from the manufacturer directly and the amount on top is probably about 2 to 5 percent of the real value , which after the manufacturer recieves payment, they now pay out as comission to the businessman. I assure you many childrens FX school. fees were paid like this. Its just that "big boys" want to take control of the whole chain and slap up hefty margins that no sane manufacturer would allow or invoice for. He has technically not laundered any money. It is a victimless "crime" except upon himself who may have compromised his own business and saddled himself with future large loans to repay just to live large immediately, and of course bank shareholders who have to write off the bad loan if the business fails. The executives will then be called to answer how they approved such a loan. Another failsafe option is that he takes the fx which was aquired at bank rate and then resells it on the black market for a hefty margin. Pays the bank the equivalent of $6m at bank rate imeediately reducing the naira loan to $6m and pockets the spread on the fx sale.!! This way, he has even made money ( not nearly as much as keeping the $6m) through the system without exposing his co to excessive loans !!! This is why you see so many rich Nigerians without any real operating businss with large business that have totally failed but they are still able to live the good life with ease. American govt will probably indict him on a technicallity of moving fumds but not really of a crime as such within their system. So you see he is already denying it and he is right logically and legally. |

As shared on his Facebook page. The Link Between the Modern Yoruba and Ancient Egyptians By Reno Omokri The ‘Yoruba’ people are some of the most spiritual people on Earth, (if not the most spiritual bar none). Sadly, however, a lot of Yoruba people do not know that there is absolutely nothing like Yoruba as a people or as a language. Yoruba is a modern creation, from a mispronounced Fulani word. The term Yoruba did not exist before the 19th Century. Yoruba is just like the English language, which was created as a mixture of several Germanic languages, including German, Danish and Dutch, when a mishmash of Saxons came to Britain in the 4th Century and mixed in with the Angle tribe that was native to Britain. When Samuel Ajayi Crowther was captured by Fulani slave traders from his village of Osoogun in 1821 at the age of 12, he reported that he could neither speak or understand the language of the villages they passed through on the way to Lagos. These were villages in present day Ogun and Oyo. Google it yourself. Don’t take my word for it. At that time, there was Egba language, Ijebu language, Owu language, Awori language, Ijesha language, Ondo language, etc. So how did Yoruba come about? When the Portuguese entered Eko and changed the name to Lagos, it became a big trading post and attracted a variety of Edekiri peoples (Edekiri is the actual name for the group of languages now referred to as Yoruba). Gradually, they evolved a mixture of their various dialects and thus began the origins of the modern language now known as Yoruba. As Lagos grew in importance under the British, so did the new language grow in vocabulary and spread. But if you understand the pure root Edekiri language, you will be able to understand bits and pieces of all languages spoken from modern day Kwara, to Kogi, to Edo, to parts of Delta, and to the Southwest states, and to Benin Republic. Now, in my present pilgrimage to Egypt, a land that was known as Kemet by the original Black inhabitants who were pushed deeper into Africa by wave after wave of invaders, my Egyptologist guide kept on mentioning names that would sound familiar to anyone who is aware of the pure Edekiri language, before it was diluted in Lagos. One of such names is Tiye, wife of Pharaoh Amenhotep III and daughter of Yuya and Tuya. Tiye was Black. This is undisputed in Egyptology. You ought to research this, or at least Google it. Her DNA was tested. But the interesting thing is that the root word of Tiye’s name and the name of her parents (Yuya and Tuya) is Iye or Iya, which is the pure Edekiri word for mother. Do you still doubt me? Okay. Let’s go deeper. Tiye’s son, who succeeded his father as Pharaoh was Smenkhkare. Google it. That is a pure Edekiri name that is still being used as a name amongst the Edo of Benin (also called Bini). You have such similar names as Nosakhare, Nehikhare being used till today. Another of Queen Tiye’s son’s name, who also became Pharaoh is Akenaten. This is also a root Edekiri name that is still being used in Benin till this very day. In fact, the Binis had a king (Oba) named Oba Akenzua. You will also notice a strong similarity between the ancient Egyptians and the Edekiri people-they did not write their history in words. They carved it, in wood, stone, and metal, using symbols. Now, let’s talk about the pyramids of Egypt (which are in reality the Pyramids of Kemet). They were built 4600 years ago. By who? Google the Groundnut Pyramids of Nigeria. They were built entirely by native Hausa people. They were not built under the direction of the British. Native Hausas built them just like Black people once built the pyramids in Egypt. Do you know that there are pyramids in Nigeria? Google the Nsude Pyramids. These are pyramids built by people of Igbo origin for their god, Ala. it is not known exactly when these pyramids were built, only that they are prehistoric. I am still in Egypt, and I have a lot more I could write. But I often hesitate, because when I write these things (especially if I don’t step them down), I end up frightening, or shocking too many people and that is not my intention. So, let me stop here, while I encourage my readers to read, but more importantly to research and verify in case I have lied to them. I will also encourage my readers to read my earlier work ‘The Ijebu, The Yoruba and Their Influence on The Bible and Judaism’. #FreeLeahSharibu #RenosNuggets Gospeller. Post-election violence: Thugs burn Kogi PDP Women Leader alivehttps://www.google.com/amp/s/www.sunnewsonline.com/post-election-violence-thugs-burn-kogi-pdp-women-leader-alive/amp/ BELLO'S THUGS BURN PDP CAMPAIGN WOMAN LEADER ALIVE IN HER HOME Even after Mr Yahaya Bello was announced winner, his thugs have continued on their killing spree. The Woman Leader of Wada Aro Campaign Council, Ochadamu Ward, Hon Mrs Acheju Abuh was this afternoon burnt alive in her home by jubilant Bello supporters and thugs said to be celebrating his victory. Chanting GYB 4+4, the thugs shooting sporadically arrived Hon (Mrs) Abuh's house at about 2pm this afternoon and surrounded the house, bolting every exit and escape from outside. They then poured petrol on the building and set it ablaze as other terrorized villagers watched from hiding. She reportedly attempted to escape through a window but was prevented by the metal burglary proof and gun shots with bullets raining in her direction. The blood thirsty thugs waited, shooting and watching with relish while Mrs Abuh cried from inside the inferno until her voice died out. They reportedly left only when the entire house and Mrs Abuh had been burnt to ashes. . There are fears that the killing spree may escalate over the night. So far there's no indication that the Kogi State Police will arrest her killers or even prevent further attacks and killings of our people. We are calling on all men of good conscience to immediately help the people of Kogi State appeal to the Inspector General of Police to rein in Bello's thugs and protect our people whose only crime was that they voted for their choice, a vote that was never allowed to count. Unless Nigerians of Good conscience immediately come to our aid innocent people may die worse agonizing deaths as the blood lust of Mr Bello and his supporters continue. . Female Muslim students have constitutional right to use Hijab – Sultan The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, on Sunday in Ibadan, Oyo State, said female Muslim students across the country have the constitutional right to use Hijab in schools. He, therefore, enjoined parents to always demand for their rights, whenever they are being denied within the ambit of the law. The Sultan said this while speaking at the 4th General Assembly of the Muslim Ummah of South-West Nigeria (MUSWEN), themed, “Muslim Unity and Contemporary Political Challenges in Nigeria”, held at the University of Ibadan. Muslim leaders present at the event included the Executive Secretary MUSWEN, Professor Daud Noibi, Chairman, Board of Trustee, MUSWEN, Prince Bola Ajibola, whose speech was read by Chairman, Muslim Community in Oyo State, Alhaji Kunle Sanni, former Minister of Communications, Barrister Adebayo Shittu, former INEC National Commissioner, Professor Lai Olurode among others. The Sultan however cautioned those advocating for the use of Hijab and various organisations championing the welfare of Muslims in the country to seek redress in a peaceful manner instead of open confrontations. The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Duoye Diri, has won the governorship election in Timi Alaibe’s polling unit, Unit 4, Ward 7 (Igbainwari town square), Kolokuma/Okpokuma Local Government Area. Mr Diri scored 74 votes in the unit, while his closest rival, David Lyon of the All Progressives Congress (APC), scored 34. Mr Diri also won in three more units in the ward, from the results seen by PREMIUM TIMES. He scored 107 votes in Unit 3, while Mr Lyon scored 51. He scored 68 votes in Unit 2, while Mr Lyon scored 32. In Unit 1, the PDP candidate scored 68 votes, while the APC candidate scored 36. The election result in the unit has somehow put paid to information making the rounds before the election that Mr Alaibe was persuading PDP members to defect to the APC after he failed to win the PDP governorship primary. Mr Alaibe is in court to challenge the primary which he alleged was not conducted in accordance with the PDP guidelines and constitution. “For the avoidance of doubt, Chief Alaibe is not in any way responsible for the defection of these respectable Bayelsans from the PDP to any other party,” Mr Alaibe, a former managing director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), had said in a statement. Mr Alaibe said he would not leave the PDP, despite the pressure on him to do so. https://www.premiumtimesng.com/regional/south-south-regional/363601-bayelsadecides-pdp-wins-in-timi-alaibes-polling-unit.html?fbclid=IwAR1A3lcdqvP_a4475b_auUdTZD_pwUr1DatXwbnPrc4qq07u6ALuk0HDTto |

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP recorded 1906 votes in the unit to defeat the All Progressives Congress, APC with only 5 votes. Motor Park economists say we are approaching El Dorado as Nigeria’s land borders remain shut. I know nothing about paper economics since most practitioners say different things each returning day. Some big guns in Abuja think this new development will boost local production. There is just no way to run away from Biafra because the present situation takes many back to the Civil War years. Biafra’s land, sea and air borders were blockaded by Nigeria, supported by Russian fighter jets manned by Egyptian pilots. World powers, except of course, the United States and France looked elsewhere as atrocity reigned. The Biafrans did not go to bed, they put on their thinking cap. That is exactly what I want Nigerians to do. It is not enough to announce that local farmers are smiling to the banks. I expect government to factor other things that go beyond producing rice in Abakaliki. What does it take to move the product beyond Ebonyi State? Beyond politics, we know that Lagos is the most populous state in the country. A good rice farmer in Abakaliki would, of course, love to take advantage of the huge market. After escaping pot holes in Enugu, Anambra and Delta states, danger stares him in the face. The Ijebu Ode-Sagamu axis is a nightmare. Moving on the Sagamu-Lagos highway is the height of gridlock and that coupled with fear of bandits and herdsmen from Ofosu to Ore. Ours is a country of consumers. We import almost everything. Nigeria does not plan at all. We cannot even produce tissue paper to wipe our dirty bum after feeding fat on foreign goods. As a kid, I began to recite ‘necessity is the mother of invention.’ That was a common jingle in Biafra. With borders militarized, the people looked inwards. Biafra became a mass of industry. Everyone was involved even in the midst of starvation. Medical equipment was scarce but there was a way out and it was home grown. Professor Theodore Okeahialam, who was part of it all paints a humble picture of the feat achieved. Okeahialam said:”That was a period of exciting Igbo scientific innovation just like the use of coconut water as intravenous fluid by doctors to treat wounded soldiers as emergencies.” According to the professor of Paediatrics, that leap by Biafran doctors did not go unnoticed by the globe. “It later proved to be scientifically sound and was reviewed in international medical journals later.” Radio Biafra had many prominent names. People like Chinua Achebe, Uche Chukwumerije and Cyprian Ekwensi made contributions. At the time the war ended in January 1970, it was headed by Sam Nwaneri. Okokon Ndem’s voice was sharper than an AK -47 bullet. The way he made announcements, many Biafrans believed their troops were just miles short of capturing Gen. Yakubu Gowon alive. It was believed that Radio Biafra operated from Enugu which had fallen into federal hands as early as 1967. Many wondered how Gen. Emeka Ojukwu held on to that miracle. However, the man who made Radio Biafra stay on, was Heron Okeahialam, an Electrical/Electronics engineer, trained in the United Kingdom. While he moved the station from one secret location to another, bullets and fighter bombers were unable to detect it. Prof. Okeahialam is his elder brother. Prof. Okeahialam said: “Heron converted Radio Biafra from medium to short wave, for wider coverage.” It was indeed a mobile station. It moved from Enugu to Umuahia and by the end of the war was operating from Obodoukwu Urualla in today’s Ideato area of Imo State. “At one time,” Prof. Okeahialam added, “the transmitter was in Otulu during the war and a long palm tree was used to mount the aerial.” Col. Olu Obasanjo who received the instrument of surrender as General Officer Commanding, Third Marine Commando Division of the Nigeria Army could not but marvel at what was Radio Biafra. Locating it was like a wild goose chase. Accompanied by battle tested troops, Obasanjo waltzed through rough terrain in his official Mercedes Benz car, NA 116, until mission was accomplished. He said:”The station was well camouflaged from both ground and air by trees and palm fronds which were changed regularly. It was a perfect job.” Trust Obasanjo, he came battle ready and was after Okokon Ndem. The broadcaster outsmarted him by disappearing into the undergrowth. An enraged OBJ threatened to flog Ikoneto demons out of the man. When Okokon Ndem eventually surfaced, the soldiers who would have been ordered to cane him were carried away. They hailed and took photographs with the non-Igbo Biafran. Accompanying Obasanjo was another non-Igbo, Gen. Philip Asuquo Effiong, president of Biafra in the absence of Gen. Emeka Ojukwu who was flown out in his Grey Ghost by Captain Frank Osakwe. Obasanjo asked some of the Radio Biafra workers to accompany him to Lagos where they would be reabsorbed by Radio Nigeria. Okeahialam declined .In 1976, he could not say no to Imo State governor, Lt. Commander Ndubuisi Kanu. Kanu saddled Okeahialam with the responsibility of setting up the Imo Broadcasting Service [IBS]. Okeahialam attended St. Joseph’s College, Sasse, Cameroon before proceeding to Professional Technial College, Southampton. He bagged a higher degree from the University of Cyracuse. The engineer also lived up to his initials of H.O.D. when appointed H.O.D. Electrical/Electronics Engineering department, IMT Enugu. Biafran scientists did great things. They made beer from cassava. Engine oil came out of coconut. They manufactured ‘Ogbunigwe’ rockets and built Red devil armoured cars. There were refineries. Airports sprang up in Uli, Uga and Obilagu. Among the scientists were Gordian Ezekwem, Col. Ejike Ebenezer Aghanya, Willy Achukwu,Frank Ndili, Felix Oragwu, Ezekiel Izuogu, Sam Orji, Frank Mbanefo, Benjamin Nwosu and Roy Umenyi. They belonged to the Research And Production Unit [RAP]. In all this, there is a lesson for Nigeria. Biafrans were pushed to the wall by Nigeria. They reacted by looking inwards. Today, Nigeria’s land borders are closed. Nigerians should wake up from slumber and do something. No serious government ever toed the path of discrimination. You cannot throw away merit and expect development. It would be a national shame if Nigerians miss this opportunity. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2019/11/remembering-biafra-in-border-closure/?fbclid=IwAR07qTchq1PkGjLnA4BWYqPxNLgnOvydz6AhReB8xqRPb1d5fRMmzDorPOA Lalasticlala |
BREAKING: Buhari on his way back to Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to arrive in Nigeria late Friday, sources close to the presidency have told PREMIUM TIMES. The president’s flight was said to have taken off from Stansted Airport, London, at about 3:27 p.m. Nigerian time. Sources at the presidency said they have been asked to be at the airport by 7:30 p.m. to welcome the president, who is expected to arrive at about 9 p.m. The president has been on a 15–day “private visit” in the United Kingdom since November 2. He was due to return on November 17. On Thursday, a Nigerian diplomatic car believed to have been carrying the president was booed by an angry mob in the UK. Many of the protesters carried placards calling for freedom for the detained publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore. Others condemned the treatment of the leader of the Shiite movement in Nigeria, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky. “Buhari, Stop Poisoning Sheikh Zakzaky,” one of the placards read. “Omoyele Sowore is not a criminal,” another placard read. https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/363258-breaking-buhari-on-his-way-back-to-nigeria.html?fbclid=IwAR0OqWISQGYfIJV0u19nX6PSg3Kc8yGljmUQDwxHMt3sz9-V5AMpCtvbbq0

Farah Dagogo, representing Degema/ Bonny Federal Constituency from Rivers State, the motion has been submitted to the leadership of the House alongside another motion, urging the Federal Government to liberalize investment in solid minerals He explained that the motion on relocation is fundamental as it would afford the oil companies and its regulators to have a first-hand experience of ‘obnoxious and heinous policies’ they have visited on ‘oil-bearing communities and states’ that ‘now languish with devastation resulting from oil exploration activities’. He expressed deep concerns that the activities of the oil companies have not only been detrimental to the environment where they operate but have also exposed the inhabitants of the affected communities and states to health hazards. “Sadly, they have relocated their operational headquarters from these areas where they have committed loads of atrocities to supposed safe havens. Revenues, job employments, tax applicable to the states and other benefits that could be used to assuage those affected by these practices are rather hosted in cities far from their exploitations. As a representative of those affected by these injustices, they have asked me to speak and I have started the process and I’m confident my colleagues in the House will key into it because it is all about the people, ” he said. Regulators of the Oil and Gas companies expected to be affected by the relocations include; Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR, National Petroleum Investment Management Services, NAPIMS, The Products and Pipelines Marketing Company, PPMC, and Nigerian Petroleum Exchange, NIPEX. He explained that the motion on liberalizing investment in Solid Minerals would enable the country to not only diversify from its mono economy status but create employment and revenues that could be a solution to the frequent borrowing to run the country’s budget. ” As a member of the National Assembly, it is our duty to also speak for Nigerians. This is about the people, the people come first before political parties. That is what the motion on the need for the Government to liberalize investment in Solid Minerals is all about. Our focus should not be on only oil, we have gold, coal, iron ore, limestone, Bitumen and several others. If we tap from all of these, there will be supersonic economy boom. Massive employments, large scale investments and most fundamental, these incessant recourses to taking humongous loans to finance our budget will be fully addressed. Earlier, Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN) National Vice President, South-South, Comrade Louis Okeleke who paid the Lawmaker, a courtesy call, reminded him that his ascension from the State Assembly to the National Assembly was laced with huge expectations, especially from the South-South. He encouraged the member to continually build on the enduring legacies he left at the State Assembly by pursuing impactful laws that would be beneficial to the people. “We know of your capabilities and capacities, especially those of us from the South-South. I had the opportunity of observing you at close quarters when you were the House Committee Chairman on Education in the Rivers State House of Assembly and your performances speak volume. We expect that you would do even better at the National Assembly, “he added. Others on the entourage included; Comfort Otuene, (Chairman, PASAN, Rivers State), Amonia Amaso, (Secretary PASAN, Rivers State) and Siso Simeon (Ex Officio, South-South Zone) https://www.vanguardngr.com/2019/11/rep-wants-oil-companies-dprs-to-relocate-from-niger-delta/?fbclid=IwAR2aza1tzxcbhyLKkPe-4sLM38vgwvsk9QlxQKtXrWz6oyMWp-5K0ZVQFt0 |
Anambra Guber 2021: Ubah Vs Azubogu - Nzuko-Ora Nnewi React. Nzuko-Ora Nnewi, the town union government of Nnewi, has condemned the ongoing unnecessary social media comparison of two of their illustrious sons, Senator Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah and Hon. Engr. Chris Emeka Azubogu, ahead of the 2021 Anambra State Governorship Election. It will be recalled that yesterday, Tuesday, 12th November 2019, Sharon Oparaocha, who is a popular Anambra based social media activist, through several social and online media platforms, published an article titled, "Help is coming or one more shot ?" Which tried to compare the individualistic nature of both Ifeanyi Ubah and Chris Azubogu. While comparing the two Nnewi indigenes, Sharon Oparaocha alleged that Chris Azubogu is not fit to run for the position of the Governor of Anambra State following his history of not being accessible and also the issue of not having a career aside politics. In trying to substantiate her claims, Sharon Oparaocha alleged that Mr. Obinna Udegbunam who hails from Ebeleogo Community, Umudim Nnewi, could not get an identification letter for I.T from Chris Azubogu even though they hail from the same community. According to her, despite severally contacts, Hon. Chris refused to help Obinna with a letter of identification and even attempted to turn his own father against him. On Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, she wrote, "For instance, there was this one time my good friend who is also the senator's loyalist had issue that threatened his life, I reached to a number of people in high places, surprisingly only three felt concerned, Frank Chinedu Maduka, the Former Anambra State NYCN Chairman, Hon. Obunike Ohaegbu who is also the young man's good friend and Sen. Ubah; were the only ones who expressed genuine concern and actually did something to remedy the situation. To be more specific, when I called Ubah, he picked and told me he would call me back, I sent him a text, he read and saw how urgent and dire the situation is, he abandoned his class immediately and called me back. He eventually helped significantly in solving the problem" Making further claims, Sharon Oparaocha alleged that Hon. Chris Azubuogu despite being an Information Communication Technology (ICT) Engineer, has no ICT firm or business to his name. She also accused Hon. Chris Azubogu of lacking credibility, after being accused of signing two contradictory documents, with one supporting the rejection of Hon. Onyema as Deputy Minority leader while the second supports Onyema's appointment, during the election of principal officers in the House of Representatives. In her other thoughts on Ifeanyi Ubah, she noted that Sen. Ubah is a successful businessman who does not have the history of engaging in anti-party activities. Reacting to the publication made by Sharon Oparaocha, the Publicity Secretary of Nzuko-ora Nnewi, Sir Augustine Ike condemned the publication, noting that the write-up was ludicrously written just to score a cheap political point. According to him, Sharon Oparaocha who is from Imo State and allegedly in a relationship with a People's Democratic Party (PDP) aspirant that failed during Nnewi South House of Assembly tickets, should not be taken seriously. He noted that Sharon Oparaocha is not happy with Chris Azubogu over his inability to secure the Nnewi South House of Assembly ticket for his friend against the wish of the people of his constituency. In the Press Release, Sir Augustine Ike said that Hon. Chris Emeka Azubogu and Senator Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah are both great sons of Nnewi and are proud to identify with them. On Sharon Oparaocha's allegations about Chris Azubogu, he wrote, "One of her greatest points is purely founded on falsehood. She alleged that Hon. Chris Emeka Azubogu refused writing a recommendation letter for Mr. Obinna Udegbunam who is from Umudim Nnewi. Upon reaching out to Obinna, he told me that he contacted Hon. Chris Emeka Azubogu for recommendation and Azubogu gave him a phone number of the person to call in his office. Obinna didn't feedback Azubogu on the outcome of the call. In furtherance of my verification, I realized that Azubogu do not know Obinna in person till date" Continuing he wrote, "Obinna personally told me that his father was working for Azubogu during the campaign and was using the proceeds he realized from the campaign to create a family crisis. I now wonder the necessary connection between Azubogu and the family crisis, save that the man was only paid his due wages and he is at liberty to use it for whatever END. To date, not Obinna or his siblings have called Hon. Azubogu's attention to this remote cum inevitable domestic crisis" Reacting to Sharon Oparaocha's allegation about roads, Sir Augustine Ike noted that Nnewi never knew that a legislature could construct a road until the "birth of Azubogu " into the Green Chambers. He hailed Azubogu's for attracting road to his constituency. In the 2021 Governorship election, he wrote, "The Governorship is zoned to Anambra South and not Nnewi North LGA. Nnewi is going into the election from the position of strength pointing on the achievements of our eligible brothers" "Therefore, the governorship race is not between Hon. Chris Emeka Azubogu and Ifeanyi Ubah as alleged by Sharon Oparaocha of Imo state and she simply does not know that because she is not from Nnewi (neither our daughter nor wife). Nonetheless, if the people of Anambra South on grounds of political merit decide to sone and leave the tickets of PDP, APGA, APC, YPP etcetera to Nnewi sons and daughters, our assurances are that we will activate our internal mechanism and give you the best of the best" He, however, urged the general public to disregard the allegations of Sharon Oparaocha, describing it as very misleading and only aimed at defending her personal relationship. All Igbo primary school children should study Hausa,Yoruba language, says Bode George Bode George, former deputy national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has said that all Igbo primary school children should study Hausa,Yoruba language. Bode George made this known in an interview on the Sun,saying: ‘to promote unity in Nigeria, I have suggested that all Igbo primary school children should study Hausa and Yoruba language, while all the Hausa primary school children should study Yoruba and Igbo, while all Yoruba primary school children should study Igbo and Hausa. Once you speak unifying language, it breaks barriers, it opens doors and also promotes unity. Why can’t we do this? He also said that that the PDP should go back to the drawing board and plan for 2023 and that the current managers of PDP should call an emergency meeting more so that the party can do a thorough X-ray of where we are as a party, how they can strengthen this party, because PDP was formed by unique personalities. Read below the part of the interview Nigeria cannot solve any of its present problems without return to regional government – Odumakin Bode George said They are telling us that all is well, but in truth, is that in reality? situation in the country today is harsh and tough. Nigerians are passing through difficult times. But my advice is that my party, PDP should go back to the drawing board and plan for 2023. We should not be downcast and say all is lost. When you fall as a soldier, you take up the gauntlet and move on. There is no perpetuity of anything in life. As for the president travelling and travelling, well, he has a choice, we can’t stop him. There is nowhere in the constitution where it is stated that he can’t travel. But if Rome is burning, the emperor cannot go away. Nigeria has been classified as the poverty capital of the world, that’s very disheartening. But my prayer is that it shall be well with our nation. I want to plead that the issue of tribal division, religious divide, we should throw them away. The gulf among us in this country today is getting wider and wider. That’s why I say that there is the need for the current managers of PDP to call an emergency meeting more so that the Supreme Court has given the final verdict. Let’s do a thorough X-ray of where we are as a party, how can we strengthen this party, because PDP was formed by unique personalities, PDP was formed by political icons of this country including late Chief Solomon Lar, Mallam Adamu Ciroma, Alhaji Abubakar Rimi, Sir Alex Ekwueme, Chief Bola Ige and a host of eminent others. We can disagree without being disagreeable. But we don’t have to be abusive and bring tribal sentiments into politics, such things don’t help. Giving conditions that if this tribe or that tribe wants to be president, this is what they should do, that should not be the language we should be using. I have friends all over the country, and my best friend is a Fulani. He is a Muslim, and I’m a Christian but we bond together very well. We should promote things that will unite us. To promote unity in Nigeria, I have suggested that all Igbo primary school children should study Hausa and Yoruba language, while all the Hausa primary school children should study Yoruba and Igbo, while all Yoruba primary school children should study Igbo and Hausa. Once you speak unifying language, it breaks barriers, it opens doors and also promotes unity. Why can’t we do this? Yes, Nigeria is not a natural country but yet we have been living together. I want to appeal that we should be promoting things that will unite us rather than dividing us. What is power? Have you seen anybody that has held power in perpetuity? Where are the leaders of yesterday? Where are they now? Where are the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Sir Ahmadu Bello, Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe and other leaders, they’ve played their own roles and are gone. We will also play our roles and go. It is the beauty of your contributions towards the upliftment of your people and country that will be the memories people will have about you. In Lagos State, they’ve legalized stealing. Look at the Alpha Beta thing, look at what they are doing with Alpha Beta. It is the only company that collects all the taxation and internally generated revenues on behalf of Lagos State government, this never happened in any civilised society. Lagos grosses between 30 to 40 billion naira as IGR every month, look at the interests that will accrue on that money, and an individual gets 15 percent of that money. But look at the derelict in Lagos with all the money. What is all these? But these people lording it over all Lagos, and ruining the place should remember that there will be a day after. Certainly there will be a day of reckoning. A day of reckoning is coming. They said I shout too much about how Lagos State is being brazenly looted and raped, and to keep me shut in their desperate conspiracy, they sent me to jail. But this man playing God in Lagos State, Tinubu is not God. What does he think he is doing? And some mentally sick people will come out and say that he is bigger than Awolowo, he is bigger than M.K.O. Abiola. And that he is also bigger than former President Olusegun Obasanjo, are these people sick? The record of Baba Obafemi Awolowo till today in the Western Region is unequalled. Go and read Papa Awolowo’s books, his books on methodology of management, go and read all his books. He ruled Lagos for eight years, but has he still let go? He has become emperor in Lagos. Some people in their ignorance will even say Tinubu is in control, in control of what? Let us make sure that the electoral process is not a sham, then you will see how people are angry with their votes. That’s the only power people have. We should allow the will of the people to prevail. If the will of people is allowed to prevail, he will not be sitting down there taking people’s money. Calculate from 1999 till today, 20 years how they have been raping Lagos. Look at that statement made by one of the former directors of Alpha Beta that they are owing him 45 billion naira, an individual saying they are owing him 45 billion naira in my own state, Lagos State, and this money is supposed to be Lagos State’s money that the man is now claiming they are owing him. Lagos State today is flat broke. The debt portfolio of Lagos State is unimaginable. Who will pay for it? Our children, our grandchildren? They have impoverished Lagos State. Now he is saying he wants to be president, let him go there, and see what will happen. Some of his followers are also saying that he is the only one that can do it, some even promised to deliver 20 million votes for him. What a deception. They are just pushing him. He should return all Lagos money. I’m even told that he is now planning to make his son the governor of Lagos State. What an insult! We don’t do dirty fights in Lagos, but Tinubu should remember that certainly a day of reckoning is surely coming. Tinubu has over dazed us to stupor. When I see some of our friends now complaining about Tinubu, I tell them why are you complaining now. I said a long time ago that Tinubu should be checkmated. Let us make sure that the electoral process is modern so that the will of the people can prevail. It is only when the will of people prevail that Tinubu can be checkmated. We are not in the stone age, we should reform and modernize our electoral process. We must make sure we leave a positive legacy for the future generation to emulate, and keep on building Yoruba race and this nation in a positive manner. The reverse is unthinkable. https://dailytimes.ng/2019/11/09/all-igbo-primary-school-children-should-study-hausayoruba-language-says-bode-george/ Lalasticlala |

The forensic audit of the accounts of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) ordered by President Muhammadu Buhari when some Niger Delta leaders visited him at the Presidential Villa recently has left the regions leaders divided. While the move did not go down well with certain interests in the region, others see it as one that is long overdue. Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, for instance, is firmly in support of the move because he believes that the Commission is nothing but a conduit pipe for siphoning funds. As far as he is concerned, there is nothing on the ground to justify the huge sums that have been invested in the Commission over the years. But some members of the National Assembly are opposed to it and are making all the moves they can to frustrate it. While Sentry will keep readers posted on the issue, what is of utmost concern at the moment is the SMS war that has erupted between the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, and the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege. Recall that Akpabio had constituted a three-man interim management committee to manage the affairs of the NDDC. But the National Assembly wondered the essence of a three-man committee when the board of the Commission could be constituted to take over its running. However, it is one thing to constitute a committee but another thing to inaugurate it. Unhappy with the composition of the board of the Commission because he had no input in it and was not consulted before it was constituted, Akpabio sent a text message to Omo-Agege to register his displeasure. Rather than placate Akpabio, Omo-Agege responded angrily with another text, pointedly telling Akpabio that the board had come to stay “whether anybody likes it or not,” and now that it has been cleared, it must be allowed to work. A distraught Akpabio has since dismissed the composition of the board as an exclusive show of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, describing it as an Edo/Delta affair. https://thenationonlineng.net/akpabio-omo-agege-in-text-war-over-nddc-board/?fbclid=IwAR24q-6yXT9SFDSMVlgIZ4jzZYMYkel7-3q_2rLjFqDapEAelX7MLdkY_9s |

Presidency has on Friday reacted to canards making rounds that vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s powers were whittled down by President Muhammadu Buhari, following the sack of the former’s 35 aides. In a riposte signed by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Garba Shehu, obtained by Vanguard, Presidency denied rift between Buhari and Osinbajo, as being propagated by some Nigerians, stressing that the relationship between the two leaders remains excellent and trusting. Osinbajo Remains Committed To Service Of His Fatherland — Laolu Akande(Opens In A New Browser Tab) Moving further, Shehu reiterated the powers and functions of the President, noting that no one is too powerful for President Muhammadu Buahri to control in Nigeria. He gave reasons for the sack aides, saying that the overriding objective was to save taxpayer money and deliver needed service to the public. The statement reads thus: BUHARI, OSINBAJO WILL, TOGETHER, SCRIPT A GLORIOUS FUTURE FOR NIGERIA The Presidency wishes to confirm that there is, on-going, an unprecedented overhaul of the nation’s seat of government, arising from which a number of political appointments have either been revoked or not renewed in the Second Term. The exercise, which has been ordered by the President, is to streamline decision-making, cut down multiple authorities and reduce the cost of administration. It is also an appropriate response to the general perception that the Presidency has an oversized and bloated workforce which acts as a drag on efficiency. As may have been noticed by discerning members of the public, a number of political appointees among the few that served in the office of the President were not returned for the Second Term. The office of the Vice President, His Excellency Yemi Osinbajo has, in compliance with the directive of the President, equally been shed of a number of such appointees. In carrying out these exercises, the overriding objective is to save taxpayer money and deliver needed service to the public. As far as the President is concerned, there is no scope for an excuse for administration after getting a huge mandate to run the country for four more years. In the light of this, the Presidency wishes to strongly deny rumours of a rift between President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo. The relationship between the two leaders remains excellent and trusting. Together, they will script a glorious future for the nation. The media reports of a soured relationship are originating from the minds and mouths of mischief makers, who are desperate for entertaining stories from the Aso Rock Villa with which to titillate the public. This ulterior motive is the basis of the wrong interpretation given to the recent exercise in the Presidency. There has been a streamlining of staff going on for a while. The President has always had fewer staff than the Vice President, and there were always plans to reduce the number of staff at the Villa. The streamlining was not personal or targeted to undermine the Vice President’s office, as the so-called insider sources quoted by the media appear to make it seem. The President is in absolute control of his government. The media should stop attributing non-existent powers to some people. There cannot be anyone too powerful for President Buhari to control. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2019/11/sack-of-osinbajos-35-aides-no-one-is-too-powerful-for-president-buhari-to-control-presidency/ |

The House of Representatives has mandated its committee on ethics and privileges to investigate a matter of privilege brought before it by a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmaker from Delta State, Ben Igbakpa. Mr Ogbakpa raised a concern on Wednesday that Kingsley Chinda and three other lawmakers were parading themselves as PDP caucus leaders. The three others are Chukwuka Onyema, Umar Barde and Muraina Ajibola. Mr Chinda and his group have recently released at least three statements on behalf of the PDP caucus of the house. The deputy speaker, Idris Wade, who presided over the plenary, mandated the committee to investigate the matter and report back to the house. The Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, few months back named Ndudi Elumelu as the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives. The announcement caused confusion in the parliament as the PDP, which is the largest minority party in the House, had nominated Kingsley Chinda for the position. Other nominees by the PDP for other minority positions were also rejected by Mr Gbajabiamila. The PDP had nominated Chukwuka Onyema as Deputy Minority Leader, Yakubu Barde as Minority Whip and Muraina Ajibola as Deputy Minority Whip. Mr Gbajabiamila, instead, named Toby Okechukwu as Minority Leader, Gideon Gwani as Minority Whip and Adesegun Adekoya as Deputy Minority Whip. Both Messrs Elumelu and Chinda are PDP members. The PDP Board of Trustees had mandated a committee to look into the minority leadership crisis that has rocked the PDP caucus. But that committee was later accused of corruption by the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike; an allegation denied by the board. https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/361262-reps-investigate-parallel-minority-caucus.html?fbclid=IwAR1SiRdcyw3rDnwlTOx_vrHGS5H7CzIhfUbaevpbBUyyih6Kj0H7012Eufk
