I have never listened to Chris ubah speak before. And people say he is not that educated. Does he have good communication skills?
He has GCE Waec, he speaks well, a hard nut, he fights to the finish for what he believes in. And for those close to him he is the kind that does not mind getting his hand burnt in the process of helping his friends get something, they therefore, consider him a nice fellow. Senators usually help in recommendations for job seekers in Fed. est. Somebody like Chris will not fold his hand when his recommendation is turned back. He will threaten fire and brimestone.
Will Earnest Ndukwe do the same?
My idea of Fed rep or Sen is for real men. I said APGA should focus on State Assembly

Seriously i would love to see Ngige lose this election. That guy have been a massive flop at the senate. We seriously need an active senator in Anambra, someone like the late okadigbo. The way Andy ubah's motion to include Anambra as an oil producing state was dismissed by senators without any serious deliberation is so annoying. We need igboists to rep us at the national Assembly. Not prople like Ngige and that Idio.t Ayogu Eze
That's the more reason we need tough guys in the Senate. An I.diot (sorry to use that) like Sen. Ayogu Eze stood up to oppose that bill. Does he know the population of Nsukka and indeed Enugu people who has made Anambra State their permanent residence from Nkwo Nnewi to O'sha main mkt even to our village markets is overtaken by a swarm of Enugu indigenes easily identified by their Language.
Till this moment nobody slapped sense into the Ayogu Eze.
See Federal representation should be for the tough guys who gets their way around bills either by coercion or by intimidation. It shouldn't be for the faint hearted. My opinion though

He needs to up his game because of the resilient opponent in Ngige

You know what happened to Gaddaffi?! It would be a child's play compared to what would befall Jonathan if he refuses to handover to Buhari 'when' declared the winner of the polls. And I will like to see if your Nairaland rantings would amount to anything if that happens. Whether you like it or not, Buhari would take the mantle of Leadership of this Country come May 29th!
If by omission or commission Buhari is declared winner of the polls,he will still not rule Nigeria. The worst that will happen is Jona will step aside for an interim leader but handover to Buhari, Never

I heard from a reliable source that an Igbo man precisely from Anambra is being considered for the interim leader options if things get out of hand. If that happens that should be a good news for the marginalized Igbo race

Reducing the cost of Land in parts of Lagos is doable. I said some parts because you don't expect the Govt and the investors after spending a lot in reclaiming Eko, Banana IL to sell it cheap. He can't also determine the cost of Land at Ikoyi neither can he influence it. Those areas are locked and can only be influenced by serious market challenges
It is possible to influence the cost of Land in someother places for instance, at Lekki Epe axis some persons in their punitive wisdom had accumulated large hectares of land without any readiness to develop them. A governor can decide to give ultimatum that the title holders should develop the lands say within 2-3years or risk revocation. The direct effect of this is that those of them who had acquired more than they can develop at the material point in time will be forced to sell part and use the money to develop the remaining Such sells are usually at a lower price. While some stubborn one's may decide to head to court for injunctions but how many injunction can they possibly get if there are existing laws empowering the governor to revoke some titles in the interest of its citizens.
Of course, this is not without stepping on some toes. But in the overall interest of the masses but the number of houses and land available for construction of houses will be increased within 2-3 years
That is not to say that his promises or ideas will make him win Lagos State Gov election. He has to work really hard cos he has a very strong and formidable opponent in Tinubu's APC

I believe that every Crisis that has a political undertone can be nipped in the bud through undertakings of consciously guided electioneering as early as the elections come calling. I see no reason why APGA should not narrow their focus to capturing the whole of Anambra State House of Assembly seat which is very possible that alone in the long run will ensure a more united State in purpose and drive. If PDP in the build up to this Presidential elections last year, ensured it captured more States Ekiti, Ondo denying APC a total control of SW , knowing the importance of having those Chief Executives under the umbrella, it is important, therefore APGA should take preemptive measures at this time through what I've just mentioned

Politics / Politics: Between Chief Peter Obi's PDP And Chief Willie Obiano's APGA by Cuche: 10:53pm On Jan 19, 2015
The present leadership in Anambra is one that has no rival in the country from 1999 till date. Sometimes I look at the vision, the drive and the dynamics employed in solving the Anambra question, I can't help saying to myself that the Messiah most times comes from the angles least expected. Who would have thought that Chief Willie Obiano, a man who was struggling to put up a strong challenge during the debates for the elections would turn out to be one of the best things to happen to Anambra State since it creation.
There is no gainsaying that he is a man of the people in the making. There is no ill feelings towards him by any group within the State. He had a little issues following the demolition of a Church at Nkwelle- ezunaka which was to the best of my knowledge a carried over animosity towards the highly divisive past administration by the Church concerned apart from that he has won the hearts of many by his well articulated vision
Now to politics, Is there any follower of Anambra politics who does not know that APGA victory in the last governorship election was not without a colossal expenditure on the part of the past Governor, are there still people in doubt that most of the spendings came from the coffers of Anambra State Government directly or indirectly as with other governments in Nigeria even at the Federal level. Let’s assume that N25 billion was used in prosecuting the election and scoring the landslide victory. Of this amount our pot bellied security personnel had a good share in securing the State during that period more or less in ensuring the outcome was as scripted, corrupt officials of INEC got a fair share of the sum in disenfranchising a sizeable population of the State from voting, the rests of the sum was spent in procuring vehicles, giving tips to the voters on the election date, settling some cooperating adhoc staffs and other expenses common with a typical election in Nigeria. Let’s also assume that the frugal immediate past governor dipped his hands into his private pockets to raise money for that election which is most unlikely will he have pulled out as much as half the assumed N25 Billion how come the indebtedness of the present administration to him beyond the normal appreciation of his efforts in laying a foundation upon which the modern Anambra is to be built a debt of appreciation which the present administration of Chief Obiano has not failed to shower in most public functions where Anambra is discussed much to the dissatisfaction of some of us who felt that the foundation laying took so long and was laden with dishonesty. Come to think of it 8 years to lay a foundation for a State as small as Anambra if the foundations of projects are laid for so much a time it then means that two generations may not see to the completion of beneficial projects. Let’s not even go to the below standard status of almost all of the projects. Looking at the challenges of development and the urgency with which the present administration is tackling these things headlong, it exposes the deceit in the much touted laying of foundation with 8 solid years and therefore I don’t see this present administration indebtedness to anybody to the tune of the figures being brandished by some persons especially against the backdrop of the bulk of the expenses coming from the pockets of the State Government. That somebody was fortunate to handle the golden pen that signs off figures of the Government revenues at a particular time does not also afford the person the boldness to demand that some figures signed out should be regarded as loans coming from his private pockets to which he now claims should be restored to him in his private capacity. And on that basis hold grudges against the present administration.
I am pleased that Mr Obi took the advice left APGA and has engaged himself with campaigning for Mr President. So he is now free from his oppressors who had relegated him to the background following his much spirited fight for relevance. But here lies the problem, a man who is so gifted with the arts of cunning will not just sleep over his perceived ill treatments and not formulate a killer blow to get back at his debtors. The elections are by the corner, and I am so surprised that APGA instead of concentrating on the easier job of laying their hands in the totality of the seats in the Anambra State house of Assembly is busy pushing against the hard nut of getting the 3 Senate Seats. APC will for obvious reasons not be able to get hold of the Presidential Seat that I am so sure of but to say they will not get a good representation this time around in the National Assembly is to be disloyal to facts on ground. Most Northern political aspirants to the Red and Green Chambers will leverage on the popularity of Gen Buhari not that they like him that much anyway but a politician must be a politician, an opportunist to say the least. PDP on the other hand will do its best to get a fair representation even if they don’t get the majority but a number that will checkmate the excesses of APC parliamentarians will do. For this reason, a State like Anambra as well as most SE, SS will provide the much needed figures for the PDP, little wonder the tough guys are to contest on their platform. I believe APGA has all it takes to capture over 90 percent of the State Assembly Seats one they have the Local Government Chairmen, who when adequately mobilized can do the campaigning upto the election date effortlessly. Two, PDP is not so much interested in who becomes the Local government chairman somewhere or is seating in the State Assembly quarters at another place for now they are attention is all focused on checkmating APC’s ascension to the throne that matters at Abuja.
It is much difficult to impeach a Governor whose party holds by far majority in the State’s House of Assembly. No matter the inducement made to facilitate such moves, the Assembly members can be summoned on the Party’s round table with near total compliance and discussions, resolutions or counter inducement made to annul any other subservient moves.
PEACE TO OUR DEAR ANAMBRA, PEACE TO NIGERIA AND OUR PROSPERITY WILL KNOW NO BOUNDS

In agreement with Buddamonk's remark above, Anambra deserves more University(s) to at least absorb the growing population of its people seeking admission yearly. It is a need
We have many proposed private Uni s especially coming from Churches, but how many of these private owners have the financial muscle to bankroll such operations. It is either the State Government finds a way of part owning some of the struggling institutions or pruning them to colleges with affiliations to reputable uni s.
We were told a donation of N5b was given to ANSU Uli by the previous administration , the impact that money would have made there was overridden by the rumours that a large portion of that money never reached the institution. And that was more like it, paper donations
A case for more money pumped towards the expansion of the facilities and structures in ANSU with a view to increasing the number of fully accredited programmes and increasing the admission quota for the good of our teeming jambites.
The State can also own colleges tailored to the needs and future plans e.g A college of Petroleum Studies with Aguleri oil exploitation in view, A college of (Mechanical)Engineering studies with Nnewi automobiles in view, A college of Arts and Crafts with the projected growths in our tourism sector .
All these can be located near the Igbariam College. We have a very long stretch of table land in that axis of Awka North upto our boundary with parts of Nsukka. I mean table land
I think the past administrations deserves some commendations for the improvements at the college of Agriculture, the achievements from that school is tangible

Talking as if you know who the candidates of PDP are. Are you the only one who doesn't know that PDP has 3 or more candidates for each post in this election . Can you tell who amongst Chris Ubah, Andy Ubah, Obinna Uzoh or Chuma Nzeribe is the PDP candidate for Anambra South? All of them are claiming victory while INEC says its sticking with Chris Ubah faction.

I think ur conclusions on how the APGA candidates are inferior would have waited until the inec says the persons u mentioned are the candidates!

And can you tell me one aspirant that was cheated out, in the senatorial race, in APGA. Or the ones that could have been better but didn't make it because they were not Umeh's friends. Let truth be our watchword in this forum as we don't gain anything by deceiving our brothers.

Would have said more on this but i had to strike a balance between correcting an erroneous impression and derailing this our wonderful thread.

BTW, If anybody creates a thread on the strength and weaknesses of the candidates in Anambra, we meet there.
INEC recognized and Supervised only a faction, Go to INEC office and ask for the list of candidates.
Asking for the ones that were not Umeh's friends/associates or persons who could be cheated out is like asking me why APGA had many deserters earlier this year.
Why were the selected candidates under Chief Umeh jittery about the possibility of a fresh primaries following the court ruling that said Umeh cannot be Party Chairman and Senatorial Candidate at the same time
They are not sure of their popularity most of whom their emergence was more like the APGA- government local government elections in the State.
I don't have anything personal against Umeh and his rising profile, I do remember his struggle and patience between 2003 - 2006

One thing people must know is that the problems of Nigeria were foundational and all the past leaders with no exception have contributed in creating the messy situation. Be it political, economic adjustments, social and religious challenges.
It is true GEJ is slow in handling these things. I don't think it is right for anybody to see him as the cause of the problems which predates his rise to prominence.
GMB, cannot do any magic and the talks are just political normal for most politicians. The challenges the country has accumulated is overwhelming.
One would have thought APC would have provided for the electorates a fresh, agile, calculated, intelligent and young Nigerian (below 50 years of age), with experience on how things work in the Western climes as an alternative to voting for GEJ

Lol Asian contractors now election Observers. That can easily be arranged.

Ndukwe, the Oraifite guy. By now you should know that the power players in Anambra South are and had remained in PDP

I don't see Obaze defeating Madam Odua, she may be a woman but she has the clout to challenge any name from that zone.
The election is in few months time hopefully, we shall how APGA will fare. In my wishful thinking, APGA best chance will be Chief Umeh going to the Senate.

Most of the persons fielded by APGA in the upcoming elections are no match for the guys in PDP. I think the problem APGA may have is that tickets were just handed to friends and associates of Chief Umeh. PDP, which was notorious for fraudulent primaries was carefully in conducting its primaries in Anambra. A neigbour in the house of reps was not even sure of winning till the results came out .
