Politics / Re: Chinese billionaire takes 6,400 staff on holiday to Paris; costs him about $50m by Cuche: 12:40pm On Jun 30, 2015 |
Dangote is more interested in buying up the lifeline of Southwest. He wants control of the Oil, Cement, Goods and possibly services in the Odua republic. With so much hate for competition Luckily for him, Tinubu is a worthy ally And holidays, jamboree for the cowardly soon to be enslaved is out of question. Instead, the energy and finances must be channeled towards the extension of the dynasty to the easily acquired coastal land. What can the Northern Oligarchy do without the Coasts and Ports? Are we now saying that the bane of our development is non actualization of Biafra? I beg to disagree the problem of the Ibo nation has been poor leadership. If the Igbo nation have their way with Biafra and then have somebody like Prof Iwu as Bia NEC ( INEC) chairman producing somebody like Theodore Ahagiefula Orji or Mbadinuju as President there will still not be development I believe that with purposeful leadership in the States, we could still achieve alot and leave the rest of Nigeria trailing far behind. I would like to see the SE Governors rise above selfish interest and begin to think about projects short and medium term that will see the region on top. I want to see integrated infrastructural development, industrial clusters / layouts with manufacturers producing for the African Market, to see Chinese companies relocating to the SE in droves I want to see schools built with focused disciplines. Is it not possible to have roads connecting the zone such that one can go from Niger bridge to any end of the zone in less than 2 hours For now We need Leaders NOT BIAFRA . It might interest one to know that the allocations and revenue that came into the States of the region between 2007 and 2013, yet there is very little on ground to justify the earnings 3 Likes |

chiedu7:I wonder They can't do nothing to Akpabio, the only Governor in Nigeria who had a hunger for delivering high quality project The only Governor with signature projects I think what Akpabio should do is to return some of the benjamins to the State before the the foolish Evfcc returns them to Nigeria.(Under the foolish law which permits recovered property to be placed in Fed Acc) Some of the property mentioned by the petitioner belongs on paper to Ernest Azudialo of Nestoil including the 25 story building One thing I don't like is selective Justice |

UnknownT:Exactly my thoughts. What is Mr Ben Bruce contesting for next, he is becoming too garrulous for my liking. How much is he paying his workers at Silverbird if he so much cares about Nigerian workers' welfare? Let's go back a bit to history, Silverbird came to limelight only after Mr Ben had supervised some contract scam worth several millions of dollars as the DG of NTA under that period Let's not forget that a probe into the contracts revealed that some of the equipments for network expansion of NTA at that time were double quoted for. Further probes were suppressed by the late Mrs Stella Obasanjo who had some interests in the contracts |

cowleg:The gully was there, the contractors were of the thought that the refuse could fill it and possibly stop the erosion. Like I said in the Anambra thread The problem of erosion in Anambra can only be controlled by good drainage systems and the plan of a good drainage system must start with the consultancy of the roads. Its entry and collection point maybe a river must be spelt out in the plan Our topography will always reveal any defect in proper drainage planning 1 Like |

obayaya: That road is not a finished product. The most important thing that should never be joked with in road construction across the State is a functional drainage system serving the roads and the anticipated housing density around the area. Such drainage plans should be part of the consultancy for each road. Anything short of that is a poor quality road |

investnow2013: River Niger at that Northern boundary is narrow and divided by lands as a result we don't need a big budget bridge to connect Anambra to Kogi State. Thinking about regional emancipation, that bridge will enhance commence and increase the trade volumes, what I mean is that instead of Northern traders from Kogi, Nassarawa, Gombe, Benue and Taraba going to Lagos to buy goods, they will head to the much closer Onitsha The same way I am thinking that SE Governors should meet and find a way of getting a high grade road cutting from Akwa*Ibom deep sea port across Abia to Anambra. Such that we will not have need of moving our containers from Lagos 1 Like |

BuddahMonk:Anambra boundary with Rivers is not that small, it is about 8miles stretch. With Edo, it is a river boundary about 1.4 miles length, the reason why our boundary with Edo is most times ignored is because of the tiny Island communities up there that one cannot really say where they claim to be placed. Sometimes, they claim Kogi, Delta, Edo or Anambra depending on the circumstance. You find them in the civil service of any of the above States 1 Like |

Now, this is what I don't like. Why is EFCC harassing Mr Ifeanyi Uba? Was he the only Fuel Subsidy Crook. Verifiable evidence showed that we had more Petroleum Mafias in the NorthWest and South West than the rest of Nigeria put together Why haven't they invited Femi Otedola, Wale Tinubu, Tukur, Dantata, Adenuga already. The sudden re- awakening of Mr Ibrahim Larmorde to his job as EFCC boss looks more like one desperate to keep his lucrative post Ibos should not keep quite. Buhari should be ready to fight corruption evenly. Before he goes after Peter Obi, T. chinolization:No doubt about the network of roads, Whether tarred or not, the reason for that is the fact that down the memory lane we have been blessed with a vibrant town unions. One of the notable foundational activities of the town unions, predating indepence is collective marking out Lands to be used as roads, for schools, for churches, markets and interconnects from one town to another. That type of cooperation is lacking in some other zones But at the time greed and selfishness crept in, indigenous land owners at Awka, Nnewi felt it was a waste to make out the atleast 30 feet for roads, that was the origin of narrow roads. Now, apart from Government layouts and a few other private layouts, many artery roads in Awka, Onitsha and Nnewi are irritatingly narrow. Annoyingly, the Government tarred the roads like that without any effort to maybe get some feet left or right (expansion ) of the roads, most of which can be gotten without damage beyond fences Obi is no better than Ngige. If not for anything Ngige is more quality oriented and very strict when it comes to standards. I remember when he came to supervise a particular road in 2004, RCC had a plan of a drainage. Ngige said No it must be dual drainage and over 10 years down it's paying off 4 Likes |

Concerning the Tanker fire at Onitsha, I think it is hightime we banned Tankers and Heavy duty vehicles from moving freely within the State at Day. This should be a good reason for Obiano to act and solve this once In many states with commercial inclinations, tankers, trailers even tippers are not allowed movements within the city as from 6 am through 9 pm. It is a law; the incessant accidents with heavy casualties were brought to the minimum |

It boils down to the personality of the Governor, when you have a Governor who is straight forward and who insists on quality, the contractors will key in Obiano could still request that projects awarded at standardized costs be done anyhow by the contactors while pocketing a third of the contract sum. But no, he wants quality Let me not talk about Mr Peter Obi roads, I don't know if he had conscience at all, could you believe that roads he did 3 years ago already have pot holes, with litters of rubbish and sand after rain 3 Likes |

Schematics:Not yet the most beautiful maybe the most modern. I have been to all the cities and States of the East of Niger, I can tell you that the effect of the shady deals by the town planners who managed the city design from 1991 to few years ago is one that looks insurmountable. I remember that opposite the Government House was earlier marked for Recreational Parks and golf parks Another area was also marked for the same purpose at Amawbia along the express way. Now, Mbadinuju was cowed to abandon the former for What they now call the Abuja Estate And Obi, the latter for part of Ngozika Estate. Sometimes, I ask myself whose interest those town planners were serving or they just wan' to make money at Government expense Most part of present day Akpaka Forests supposed to be a portable forests reserve for Onitsha area is now overtaken by buildings And what of roads inside Awka some which can barely pass two vehicles side by side 2 Likes |

ChimaAdeoye:You are being mischievous. I said Obi entered into many arrangements with businesses which either flourished or had the potential to, that saw him getting shares in those businesses at the State's expense. He didn't attract an investment or patronized any without Al Paccino's 'devil's advocate role'. His favourite backstage language during those period is Government will do this or that for your business but you will give Me this or that. I think Obiano is good for not blowing his findings but I can assure you he was angered by those findings and deceptions. Let's not talk about Contractors' story . Are you aware that some of those projects hurriedly initiated by Obi just before leaving office were full of grey areas(financial) which had to be re-negotiated? OreMI22:SOMETHING MOST OF YOU DON'T KNOW Obiano will not Patronize IVM as long as the clandestine arrangements entered into by the former Governor Mr Peter Obi persisted. Obiano is so displeased with those criminal, wicked and devilish greed of a Governor forcing private business to allot him stakes personally (assuming Obi negotiated the part ownership, say the 30% stakes for the State, it would have been different) Obi entered into many arrangements like that in return for government patronage or assistance in provision of basic infrastructure around the industries. So he was using the Government to further his psychotic unquenchable thirst for money and shares. In a particular thread on this forum, in 2013, I said Innoson should be careful in his romance with Obi Obiano has been fully briefed and will have none of that. And that forms part of the problems he is having with Mr Peter Obi. @ BuddaMonk, I agree with you about Obiano being flamboyant, that is his nature. I also agree and has said it on this forum that Mr Peter Obi is not Vindictive because despite the hate by some sections of the State he still carried on his substandard, high cost road construction across the State. 2 Likes |

barcanista:The story was not made up, I heard about it on the first week of April when some PDP guys were grumbling about Peter. They let the cat out by first insinuating that that he cornered the money meant to be shared amongst them and that where he spent a few millions he claimed it was billions. I heard about N6 Billion which I don't know whether it was for Anambra alone or all the Southeast states campaign. But if the money is meant for each State, then the 27 Billion is more like it. Beehshorp:I disagree Peter Obi was fooled by the whole play out, Chief Umeh played a smart one on him, first they forced him out of APGA because they were not comfortable with his cunning ways next, they pushed him to PDP where he thought he will be a King, a Minister and whatever. Next, the roles he played and the press releases he made against Buhari pencils him down among those to be hunted Next, they ensured APGA got most seat if not all in the SHA I can assure you that Anambra is loyal to Obiano he is a straight forward person. If Obiano decides to move to PDP today, he will be a King, a hero and whatever you may call him. One, his performance as a Governor will form part of the campaign of PDP to bounce back in 2019 and secondly, as Governor Obiano is expected to have more influence, more usefulness to any mega party than Peter Obi 1 Like 1 Share |

Face saving parole from Peter. By now he should've known his name has been penciled down for probe, having been a special advicer in the looting spree of the economic team. His many years experience in money laundering cannot go unnoticed and will surely be visited. Obi Peter Will Go Very Far From Nigeria As soon AS Buhari Takes A Stand On Some Of GEJ Men.Dieziani is not going down alone Obiano can't be deceived by those talks again, we all knew Peter was spearheading the plot to deal with him once PDP gets the State Assembly. Unfortunately, Obiano took the issue seriously and did all that were humanly possible to clinch those seats. With that victory, Obiano does not need APC. If APC wants him they have to table in clear terms what special considerations and projects Anambra stands to gain over the next 4 years from the Center. But if I were Obiano, I would rather move to PDP than APC if at all I should move 1 Like |

Peter will be caught and his loot returned to Anambra, the ship he ran to is sinking and the rescuers boat is the soon to be revived anti-graft agency.
