We are really missing something. Fayose has shown states how to deal with the fulani herdmen issue, what has your governor and state assembly done about it.

What have you done about it, are not not old enough to gather support and ask your state assembly to pass a law banning open grazing
We have lilly livered Leaders in the Southern Nigeria. The Kanu of a guy with his propaganda is asking salient questions make no mistake about it. It will not be long when the awakening will take effect in a dimension the Leaders never anticipated. Inequality and injustice has never been shown to build any nation and in this case it is glaring. Going into the Afara Ibeku to kill unarmed people while the camps of armed Fulani militia is rarely considered for sack is Gross injustice.

Can the Nigeria Army comb the Eastern forests for the armed Herdsmen? Are the herdsmen immune to show of force and python dance? These are the questions that should bother any sane Southerner where herdsmen emerge from bushes to hunt villages, rape women and gracefully walks back to their stations and forest camp.
I am bothered that in the press release by the GOC he didn't mention rampaging Fulani herdsmen and the broadcast of the President they were not mentioned.

Obiano is the candidate to beat in this election. The guy has really done well and deserves commendation
He has done well but not in all sectors. He spent most of the tenure completing uncompleted projects littered by Mr Peter Obi. He is yet to complete some of them like the Resorts, the Shopping malls at Nnewi and Awka, a number of roads awarded like the ones at Green wood are still hanging. Obiano has good fiscal policies but the hangovers from Obi are just too many. I don't understand why somebody will award hundreds of project contracts just a few months to the end of his tenure when he had 8 years to initiate and complete them.

Politics / Re: Why Obiano's Reelection Won't Work. by Cuche: 10:50am On Sep 08, 2017
Val Obi enyem is leading the team Obi/Obaze to the media battle against the Egbuna Amuta led Obi ano team. It has been a draw match so far.
Next round should produce a winner, I expect the smears to have few summarized points. I don't like lengthy articles like the one above.
Obiano's body language in the last 6 months does not spell any seriousness in returning for 2nd tenure. It is not clear if he wants a second term.
I don't really know that Obaze except that he worked with Obi. I like his looks and the attention he is getting.
Tony Nwoye is not new to politics, he understands how to build bridges of friendship, he knows how to stoop to conquer and in him APC has a candidate they believe will give the other contenders a run for their money.
Whether Obiano, Obaze or Nwoye takes the day, the state is on the right course. If Obiano has made up his mind on losing the election through unseriousness, he should just work to ensure the emergence of Nwoye who is humble, respectful and a listener (my personal assessment though, I have met him twice at an event). Besides, he stands a better chance with the APC machinery solidly behind him. Honestly, Nwoye is a man to beat having seen him emerge flag bearer first in PDP now in APC, overthrowing heavy weights despite his relatively young age.
I personally do not like Mr Peter Obi and by extension anybody associated with him. He was such a cunning and dishonest character, that is not to say the Obaze guy will not improve on the performances of his predecessors should he win.

There is no defense except that for over 50 years, the North has gained admission into schools using lower cut off marks under the educationally disadvantaged states mantra.
Now they have decided to make it more ridiculous by making it even lower than when they started with that scheme several decades ago.
I think it is a good thing to have more Northerners educated to the University level. It is to the benefit of us all that they do, it shall immediately translate to a decline in the number of miscreants, savage herdsmen, cannibals and Islamic militias deceived by psychos like Bin Ladin. With accessible Education spread across the country, the value for human life and tolerance, and unity will not be forced or achieved by clampdown of dissenting voices, but will come through dialogue of educated minds.

When we have bigger looters baptized elder statesmen all over the country. They should start with those men while U.K. is sorting out Diezani and allies. E.F.C.C. under Buhari has not achieved anything except selective media trial of the opposition. If they are brave, I dare them to reopen Halliburton files. I don't really know who Mr Oputa is working for and the intrigues involved but I can assure myself at least, his 10 man squad of protesters aren't asking the right questions. Between 1978- 1999 amounts valued today at over $200 billion was siphoned and more are still being siphoned. The main actors are living and are among us here in Nigeria.

It turned out that the worst SSA on media to any leader so far is Mr Femi Adesina. He has never answered any question like somebody smart, he has never granted an interview session that one could give a pass mark and he wears a stern face that puts me off. So dodgy with answers to simple questions and unfriendly in his response to minor queries. To cap it all, he is always eager to talk nonsense. I mute the television anytime I see him on NTA , Channels and the rest. Good enough the remote is always sitting close to me in case of people like Mr Femi whose speech is so irritating.
Modified:
He is definitely not an interviewers delight from what I have seen him do. Right now, I can't remember if his columns on Sunnews was superb or dull. The man that worked with Former President Jonathan showed superior understanding of things and appeared to deliver better judgment of situations.

Mrs Patience Jonathan spent longer time on medical vacation for a serious illness. Germany to be precise.
I didn't hear her publish the nature of the illness and the amount spent.
That's not to say there is much substance in the President's speech. But he should be spared to learn some good lessons from this circumstance and make necessary amendments. I expect him to release the Shiite Leader and the people wrongly held while ensuring the real terrorists are curtailed. The unity of Nigeria cannot be sustained by injustice in all its shades. It is not enough to say non- negotiable in such dictatorial way.

That man is not the only person who has expressed amazements at the speed of the police statements. Are Nigerian Police so dumb?
In 2013, worshippers, more than 100 of them died in a Catholic Retreat Center at Uke Anambra State. The Police made a statement as dumb as this one and waved the matter aside. We heard stories of a woman frying akara by the roadside and an explosion from the hot oil causing the panic.
I agree there is every possibility of drug lords squaring it out but why inside the Church and who was the assassin , which categories of extremist are known to disregard supposedly holy places? Can we safely explore the options that the killers could be imported from Chad, Niger, Somalia and Sambisa forests.
Mr Ikegwuonwu should sue the hell out of those media houses, joining the police if at all they named him, in the suit.

Dragging cars keys, steering wheels, forceful entrance into someone's car, breaking vehicle windows, mad rush against on coming vehicles, causing avoidable accidents by suddenly charging onto vehicles with the patrol vehicles are not part of the FRSC mandate. So much un-professionalism among the members of that Corps and that will continue to pitch them against Citizens who are capable of helping themselves in the face of such provocations.
Impounding of offending vehicles should be done professionally for instance, take down the plate number and track the vehicle or the driver's licence to the address provided in the car registration. There are good sides to the corps, people who ordinary will not care about the condemned tyres they drive around with and the potential risk to other road users, think twice before plying some routes.

This move will make him more unpopular and hated. A worker has the right to receive the wages with work ID presentment. There is no constitutional provision supporting such decree by any governor.

Voting is a prerogative, a right but not mandatory. Ownership of Voters card is not a guarantee that the entity must vote, cos voting is an obligation not a mandate.

By the way.......

Obiano is unlucky. No form of propaganda will erode the ideology of Biafra.
Very unlucky. I was in Anambra few weeks ago. I realized that the IPOB campaigners are permeating every nook and cranny with their hate speeches and more people are adopting the group. It is understandable because of the seemingly dissatisfaction of the youth population first with the Buharism and second with the hopelessness of any better care from the Nigerian State. Without good and cutting edge negotiations, counter campaigns and offers (inducements), that election will be in the history books. In recent times we have struggled with voter apathy but this November will be the bomb and a record.

Politics / Re: Anambra Government Orders Public Servants To Submit Voters' Card Or Lose Salary by Cuche: 11:37am On Jul 15, 2017
It is not compulsory to possess a voters card and there is no legal basis for withholding a civil servants or public servants monthly pay. The statement that every public servant must submit both the original and photocopy of his or her voters' card to the head of his ministry is so dumb a strategy. I think Igbo don't play good politics and should learn from the Yorubas the art of politicking.
With this move, if it is true that statement is coming from the State Executive Council, APGA has shown they don't have Political Strategists or may have lost such advisers used by Peter Obi.
As much as intimidation is an effective method of electioneering, but this one is one too many. I expect some legal battles that will further make Obiano unpopular in the coming months by the time some public servants are affected by the rascally policy. Oppositions will be so pleased to finance such legal battles.
Obiano can spare few cash and hire strategists, most especially the Yorubas or people who have worked with them to plan something more concrete. He has the financial edge and incumbency, he also has the wider representation in each town and village, he has to plan.
This intimidation is so insignificant, after all what is the fraction of the public servant to the voting population of the State. IPOB and the APC emerging Cabal led by 'Pastor' Osibanjo should be APGA's worry.
In as much as I doubt the possibility of IPOB achieving Nigeria's breakup with all its schemes not even with a referendum, I think they have all it takes to distablize things as they are currently doing. And Osibanjo will definitely align with his APC benefactors in making key decisions including grabbing more states for APC, forget his Pastor appandage. Obiano should plan and start negotiations now to ensure things work out just fine. He shouldn't be seen as 'planless somebody' with statements like this unfortunate circular.

Rochas the Rochas.
I think the best legacy he will leave is to pay back completely the loans he took on behalf of Imo State's future. I don't know the repayment plans he has for that but Imolites should be grateful to Sanusi Lamido who promptly bared Rochas from planless and thoughtless indebtedness of Imo State. As for project, he was quite ambitious because he took more bites than he can chew. Frankly, those projects in totality are not a match to the achievements of Mr Sullivan Chime and Mr Obi/Ngige in the comparative terms.
Rochas second term projects will not also match the comparative terms of Willie Obiano and Dave Umahi. All these SE Governors I mentioned took minimal loans.
Business / Re: Aba Shoemakers Jittery Over Chinese Shoe Magnete’s Investment In Aba by Cuche: 6:17pm On Jun 23, 2017
The fears and reasoning of the traders are logical but it is not correct in practice. Take for example, when big white farmers came on board, such fears were entertained by the local farmers, however, it is crystal clear that with a large market like ours and so many factors that drag market share including product bias , no company can successfully run a complete monopoly in some goods, not even in services.
There is this million dollar Shonghai farms and other large poultry farms with the Whites as principal partners, many thought their entrance into the market will stifle the subsistence farmers, but it didn't. Instead, the high yield technologies and systematic approach they came with are in the hands of the locals today, less cycle time, more turnover, disease resistant spp, improved vaccines, relatively cheaper broods, more accessible and better feeds manufactured by the bigger companies. Moreover, the meat market target of huge farms are the export and big enterprises like fastfoods and hotels, the frozen food chains which were hitherto controlled by Benin Republic. The local farmer retains his market and at a higher profit margin with the technology made available by the White farmers.
Similarly, the shoe manufacturers will learn and get technology leaks (the painstaking works of many years) for free. The raw materials like high quality leathers, soles, gums, pins, packages and 'branding' will likely be manufactured here by the Chinese who I know will not like to be wasting cash on duty for things a few line of robots and machines will produce in minutes The people that will be affected are the importers of these items .
Again the product preference, like many will not like meats believed to have gone through genetic modifications and steroid manipulations, many will have strong bias for robot made shoes as against handmade shoes.
Till they come, the fears are coming too early!

Is there anything different Ngige will do from what Obiano is doing? While it is true that Chris Ngige is performance oriented, aggressive in project execution and 'quality or none' in creed, it is yet to be known how he can nurture good relationships with indigenous investors like Obiano has done in the last 3 years. What Obiano has done in building trust can't be rivalled, most of the investors are on ground, working to meet the set date. From Real Estates, Oil and Gas, Agriculture, Commerce, to Retail Shops and many more are in various stages of negotiations with the Igwe Cyril led Investment Agency.
Ngige should please jettison the idea and remain at the Federal executive, while we use the available medium and the 'marginalization of the Igbos' to demand a better portfolio for him, where his hardwork and performance will be felt. Obiano will not turn down his good counsel if he channels it appropriately and we move forward.
Aside Ngige, no name in that APC team can secure a useful vote from Anambra people in a credible election, the man saying trial and error is ignorant.

Politics / Re: Pick-your-project: Pix Of Some Of The #20m Project In Every Community In Anambra by Cuche: 5:15pm On Jun 11, 2017
Some communities chose Oil palm and Cassava processing plants. I also observed that some of the projects there should be worth or cost more than N20 million upon completion.
Good to know money was released for the projects.
That could account for the timely completion, one thing some governments are not doing right is embarking on projects they are not ready to bankroll. No matter how lofty a project is, it is a waste of resources in summary to embark on it if there hasn't been a worked out plan for its financing and timely completion.
Gov Obiano has not done badly in appreciating the time value of money. Most projects he started, he has shown willingness to complete. His little setback is that he has spent most of his first tenure completing projects started at the tail end of the previous administration rather than initiating his monster -projects, which is not bad because with that the culture of abandonment of work sites will be a thing of the past in the State.

'Drop' the letter with them and head home, I believe for most schools session ends in August and September. Losing a year can't be equated with loss of life.

The truth is that under the influence of Daddy G.O, Osibanjo will try his luck on getting the coveted seat of power for RCCG. I can't say for now if a propelling 'vision' of seeing a member on the throne has gone forth from the Redemption camp. The moral standing of Osibanjo, I can't tell because all manner of characters pass as Pastors in the RCCG. In short, a devil can be a pastor there provided he can learn to act like the G.O.

Another truth I know, like somebody pointed out is that the North will do anything in short, everything to prevent him from getting that position in 2019. The South-Eastern block will rather support a northern alternative to Buhari maybe Atiku, Kwankwaso, Tambuwal, just any alternative, than vote Osibanjo. I don't know the sway of the South South and even some Yoruba groups who treasure the Ogboni brotherhood, will they support a Pastor?
I believe his schemings will not work, neither will the 'visions', which vision will be more than the ones they gave Goodluck Jonathan in the run up to 2015 elections.

There is no disputing the fact that the Southeast is the bastion of Jonathanian support and hero-worship, even more than Jonathan's own Niger Delta constituency.
Yet it remains the least beneficiary, both in terms of Jonathan lacklustre achievement and his legacy of theft and plunder.
Achievement wise, it walked away with nothing. It didn't even get the Second Niger Bridge it was promised. And the bulk of Jonathan's scarce interventions are situated in the north and southwest, Jonathan's opposition strongholds.
Not to be underrepresented once, the Southeast is also the least beneficiary of Jonathanian corruption. So far, most of the high-end beneficiaries are northerners, southwesterners and Jonathan's Niger Delta kins. The Tompolos, Akpobolemis, Badehs, Dasukis, Amosuns, Okes, et cetera.
Ensconced in the realization that the Southeast has bought his 'Azikiwe' dupe and have proved to be more Jonathanian than the Ijaws, Jonathan didn't even bother to campaign or perform there. The Jonathanian dollar largesse was taken to the palaces of Yoruba Obas and Arewa emirs alone.
The Jonathan-Southeast affair is rich in both irony and drama and I can't imagine a political relationship that is more one-sided, more unrewarding and self-annihilating.
Looks true but sorry your assertions are wrong.
South East Anambra in particular has a lot of millionaires who consolidated the status under Jonathan. From the oil sector to industries and waivers, Ministerial positions and Contracts, due Promotions, many Ibo businesses flourished under GEJ. There are others I wouldn't want to be specific about.

APC may not be talking about WIN like most of us use the word to mean that election was conducted with votes counted. But what APC want is Victory which is
akin to success achieved anyhow and in this case the methods of suppression, intimidation, harassment while security agents look the other way, result manipulation and announcement of impossible results by INEC are very much with us.
Like I said in a thread few days ago, such landslide victory is possible for the APC and to plan resistance the Obiano team must employ tact at least 6 months to the election time with monthly stakeholders review of the gains made. I thought Buhari will be interested in electoral reforms but I was wrong. The truth is that he is not in-charge except maybe Osibanjo takes a stern face as Ag President and dislodges some hard nuts (cabal), the decision of who takes over Anambra state will be done in a room over a bottle of champagne and not in pooling boots.
