Food › Re: Hilda Baci's World Record Is Overhyped. Change My View by cunny88(m): 9:49pm On May 15, 2023 |
Infolenka: First of all, I will like to say that I am happy for Hilda for breaking a world record. It's never an easy feat, however, I think Nigerians are really overhyping this.
Hilda didn't really achieve anything groundbreaking or even useful by cooking for 100 hours, especially one that would warrant such national attention. Yes she broke a world record, but all she did was cook. Not like she was inventing a new delicacy or manufactured a new technology to cook food.
One thing I have noticed about this country is we don't have our priorities right. And it's not just the leaders, majority of the population are culpable. For the past three days almost every post on my Whatsapp status is about Hilda. My twitter and Facebook timeline is all about Hilda, but really is this something worth celebrating by a whole nation?
Go on Youtube and you will see various accounts by white kids from different western countries doing even more amazing stuff, but their countries do not recognize them, simply because it isn't worth recognizing. In the 21st century, a serious country recognizes technological innovation, groundbreaking medical research and other things that actually make a positive and impactful difference in the world. What impact has Hilda's 100 hours cooking made? It's not like she's cooking to end world hunger. What will be the positive impact of her cooking 2 months from now?
We really need to get our priorities right. There are university students that have done more useful projects that can actually solve problems and put Nigeria on the global map, but yet no one gives a damn. These projects can actually make a difference, create jobs and improve the economy of this country, but some pretty girl cooks for 4 days and everyone cant shut up.
This is 2023 where countries have gotten to the level where they can wipe out the whole of Nigeria in minutes; where countries have developed AI technology that can completely transform the economy of the world, yet a country of over 200 million people are celebrating a woman that did nothing else but cook, as if she just discovered the cure for cancer. Shame! I tot I was the only one in ur shoes, d unnecessary publicity and hype surrounding it has been way too much. Haba, there are several productive projects dat hasn't seen d light of the day |

Family › Re: Should I Go Ahead With Her? by cunny88(m): 8:55am On Apr 24, 2023 |
Dogalmighty17: I actually read this. So let me understand. Your potential spouse, a single mother, has had relationships and sexual encounters with over 70 men since her marriage broke down. She is violent, disrespectful, unapologetic and is hell bent on carrying on communication with her supposed exes. You still want to bring her and her baggage home. You want to cater for her child even when the father is still alive. Meanwhile, you also have your own child. That's two kids already. You may still have more when you marry her. In this economy?
Let me ask OP a question, if a woman has had 70 relationships after the break down of her marraige and none of those men thought her for enough to make a wife, why are you the one cursed to doing so?
Do you not love yourself? Is that how much you hate yourself? She has shown you why her first marriage failed! Yours with her will FAIL TOO!
Do not go ahead and marry this woman. You will regret it. I think he's financially ok dats y she's clinging to him |

Lucasino: More opinions are still welcome. Naming a child has a deep impact in a child life . I don't think so, dangote, bezoz, bill gates etc names didn't catapult them to affluence. I was named by my fathers friend. My opinion is: whoever names the child should be approved by the father. The child can even grow up and abandon those name just like Cassius clay decided to be Mohammed ali |

This letter will have little or no effects because the westerners understands how system works in Nigeria. The other day Cameron introduced Buhari to the queeen as the president of a fantastically corrupt nation. Evry election since 1999 has been doctored we can only look inwards and solve our problems internally. For me the letter is an effort in futility. Even US elections are not without flaws. |
