i thought it was only for yoruba and yoruba lovers? Though i was about mentioning that there are some natural born yorubas that neither speak nor write in yoruba fluently. My comment was just a suggestion and hasn't been made a law so take a chill pill.

Voting or selecting a Yoruba leader on Nairaland is like we are openly encouraging/ endorsing tribalism. Some so called defenders of Yorubas as well attack, rain curses and call other yorubas unprintable names just because they aren't reasoning alike whenever they are attacking perceived enemies of the Yorubas. I openly recognize people like Jarus, Dayokanu, Gbawe, Shymmex, Bluetooth, Seanet e.t.c and other persons that once in a while defend us well against our perceived enemies especially the Ibos on NL. But in real life, do we have enemies? NO, i don't think so. We never see shouting matches between us and other tribes over issues in real life like we have on NL. I don't want us to be like the Ijaws who think that anytime we critcise GEJ, we are therefore attacking them. I want us to proffer solutions to the development of our region because we are the pacesetters in every positive thing in Nigeria and i expect us to continue to do so. As someone rightly said, we may need a leader to defend us against other tribes anytime there is war because we never can tell. Boys Scout motto says- BE PREPARED! So you guys can ride on because i guess we are only having fun but as for me, i excuse myself from voting.

If this report is true, i can only shake my head with pity at these Ijaws. Are they just knowing that their so called son is useless? It will be a shame if at the end of GEJ's tenure, he only gave them a church. This will teach them not to mix seriousness with sentiments.

It was a good idea but the timing was wrong. In a country where corruption, suicide bombing, kidnapping, poverty, looting, lawlessness, ethnic & religious crisis, drug peddling, fraud e.t.c is the order of the day in Nigeria and it didn't look like all this mentioned above was going to cease anytime soon, that REBRANDING Programme was bound to fail. What is the essence of changing the name and logo of a product when the product itself is spoilt and remains unchanged? I am she is not in the scene anymore. Good riddance to bad rubbish!

Not only Azazi should be relieved of his duty, why don't they ask the Commander in Chief Of the Armed Forces, GEJ that appointed him to be impeached? If it is ACN that brought up this issue, they will read another meaning into it. I guess they are a bunch of hypocrites!

I was 11 years old and had just finished Primary School Waiting to gain admission into Secondary School in the early-mid 90s when Console games (Terminator, Sega, SNES e.t.c) first came into Nigeria. Was supposed to leave for lesson by 3:30 pm but on that day i left home like 1:30 pm and headed to a game center in my neighbourhood instead of going to lesson. Played Mario till i exhausted my pocket money but instead of leaving at that point, i got carried away and stayed behind to watch. Minutes later, we were rounded up by The Police. They tied our clothes to each other so that we wouldn't escape and took all of us to the station. Unfortunately for me, a neighbour saw me and went to report to my parents at home. When we arrived at the station, we were told to write our names down of which i tried proving smart by giving my surname and a fake first name. Afterwards, we were moved to the back of the station yard where awfully smelled of excreta. We were then given 3 very hot slaps each by the DPO. Minutes later my father came to bail me and they called the name i gave but because it was a FAKE NAME i dropped, i myself didn't remember it was me that was being summoned. Suddenly the name rang a bell in my head and i owned up to the name. I was eventually released to my dad but you won't believe that my dad didn't utter a single word to me on the way home. He dropped me off at my lesson and i then knew that i was in big trouble. Even when i came back from lesson that evening, he still didnt speak to me throughout the whole night. After prayers the next morning, he asked me to strip n.a.k.e.d he then proceeded to give me 24 hot lashes of the KOBOKO! I still hate The Nigerian Police for that incident!

If the President appears to/ is found to have breached the constitution in whatsoever way, asking for him to be impeached sounds appropriate. Coming to the issue at hand, i think its plain stupidity on the part of ACN to ask that the President be impeached when its not as if its his personal property that was renovated. ACN needs to start behaving like grown ups and not cry babies that cry foul over trivial issues. Again, this is not an attack on the Ijaw Nation. Why is it that everytime the President is criticised, ijaws percieve it as an attack on them? Shouldn't the President of The Federal Republic of Nigeria be critcised at all? Other Presidents before him were also criticised and their people never cried foul. It now appears that The Ijaw Nation are the real tribalists in Nigeria.

that is his personal achievement but how has these improved ordinary Nigerian lives? It suprises me that some people can still open their mouths to praise OBJ! He is the type of man that will say something now but will do another contrary to what he earlier said. He is a good betrayer. In 2003, he begged the AD because they were his kinsmen to support his 2nd term bid having not supported his 1st term bid but on the day of election, he visited Osoba at his home and even played AYO (ancient yoruba game) but unknowingly to the AD, PDP was rigging the election. I can go on with other examples of his treachery but i'll stop here. I just respect him cause he his old enough to be my father but aside that, i have lost all respect for him as a human being.

OP, On Nairaland, you may end up getting UNproven solutions but you definitely be bashed and will leave with a deflated ego/ low confidence.
