Politics › Re: True Analysis Of Yar’ Adua’s Health – He Can Only Survive By A Mirracle - Doctor by CyberG: 10:54pm On Dec 11, 2009
debosky:
Who is this person and why should 'her' account be taken seriously?

Sahara's reputation as a rumour peddling machine might be confirmed if Yardie returns hale and hearty.

Her sense of self-importance is disgusting - speaking authoritatively on a patient she hasn't had access to? Medical Doctor my foot.
Look. . .you need to also read the news header that tells who is writing the report! SaharaReporters in addition to their own investigative work also publish the comments/opinions of citizen journalists! Did you not see the person's name was not released for "security" reasons for Nigeria is a silly country where doing/demanding/saying what is "right" is not appreciated and could lead to hired assassins! Bayo Ohu, anyone??

I have had things published on SR reporters and you have to hand it to those guys. . .they are way better than any Newspapers in Nigeria for like the values of their society, there is total freedom of individuals and the press. They have never edited/censored my writing because it "attacked" anyone and once, I wrote something really "hard", they removed my name and put in Citizen Report or something like that! This I had no complains with for they thought it was better and made "Nigerian" sense to not include my name. But, they published the whole thing. . .even if you send them something critical of themself on their website, they publish it. What else does freedom require?

I just came out of a challenge of a so-called "superior" on facts and in about 15-20 minutes, everything was settled! This will not and can not happen in Nigeria where I would have no recourse than to be "praying" to God to fix wrongs a "superior" erroneously made. In fact, on one issue we did not agree with, I told him: "Yes, I hear your point but I DISAGREE!". There is no perfect place in this world, but to say Nigeria is far behind is an understatement!

Well, shouldn't take a lot effort to talk, I hope Nigerians are still waiting for the purported webcast/telecast by Yar'SickLiar!
Politics › Re: Yar’adua Leaves Intensive Care; May Break Silence Friday by CyberG: 6:07pm On Dec 11, 2009
Let's see how this liar will break anything, not just silence:

===========================================================

I just woke up to read this idiotic piece dished out to Nigerians. First, let me say, that beyond all reasonable doubt that if the diagnosis and the muddled up information dished out by the demons in PDP are true, then Mr. Yar'dua is not coming back to Nigeria, at least NOT on his feet.

Please do not get me wrong, do not mistake my take as being cold hearted or see me as a woman without African compassion in her. In fact I feel all these because I was once in the shoes of Mrs Yar'dua. Not that my own man had his kind of influence or money, but I loved him with all my heart all the same.

OK, look at this, the man is not able to speak or he is inaudible if he does. No mam/sir, the man cannot speak at all. The man is on a ventilator, he is intubated to secure the airway because someone did not have the presence of mind to intubate him, secure his airway, hyperventilate him en route to Saudi Arabia, so he SUFFERED ANOXIC NEURO DAMAGE. It takes only 3mins and at best 5 mins for any one to suffer irreversible brain damage without oxygen. So, his fool of a doctor putting him on oxygen via nasal cannula will only give the man nose bleed without making much difference. . Doctors flown in from Germany and America will not make a difference.

The man had a cascade of chemical activities when his heart failed or should I say when he suffered vascular collapse in Abuja. These chemical reactions will open the gates for toxic reactions hence his systemic collapse. It takes only a couple of minutes, 8 mins precisely or may be a little longer in some strange people for the chemical to bring down the whole system. In that case, he will be in a vegetative state .

What is happening now is that they have put him on life support, he can neither talk or blink, he is in what we call CATATONIC STATE, with only the severely compromised brain ticking away. In that case , his algorithm will be very erratic on the monitor, They can give him all the epi. in the world and it will not make a difference.

I am almost sure the man is on life support. I want to assume he also has a trach. They will do that to access his lungs to see if miracle can happen as soon as he arrived in the hospital because his airway would have been compromised by the time he got to the hospital. Where we cannot get a line into a patient, we go for O/S, and that is we go through the the trachea to get the lungs filled with oxygen. Sometime, the man will be artificially kept alive as long as his heart is still registering on the monitor, no matter how poor his algorithm may be. In that case, he will be dead and alive at the same time. However, we do keep them on to see if they will make a miraculous come back. There are some things, indeed a lot of things medicine cannot explain. One of which is the phenomenon of the COME BACK KIDS. as we call them. We keep them on as long as per family request until the register a PEA on the monitor and then they go away forever. Those moments are so surreal. So, what is Madam President is doing now is hoping that the man will make a miraculous come back. I am surprised Gov saraki is part of this caper because he is before anything else a medical professional who from all indications does not know what is on in our world anymore. The man will speak to the nation? common guys, this guy ain't speaking to no one but his creator. He cannot speak because he has tubes in his throat or though his nasal septum. Actually he has more than that. let me tell you guys what he has:

1. FOLEY CATH: That is a tube going through his penis to his bladder to drain urine into a urine bag for measurement. The essence of it is to see his urine osmolality and to measure the kidney function. We want to see at least 30 ml of urine per hour. In his case, it is not likely because the reports say his kidneys are gone. Poor guy. besides, we do not want him to void on himself so that we do not have issues of skin break down from the ammonia in the urine.

2. RECTAL TUBE: that is the one that will collect all the feces if at all. That is to maintain hygiene. We also want to see the color, size, viscosity of the feces. It tells a lot. That is besides the fact that he is in ICU or IMU, nurses on those wards are not known to tolerate an incontinent patient. Besides, you do not want to accidentally dislodge a tube because all the alarms will go off at the same time. I once rotated to IMCU and the noise from the monitors almost drove me to drink. I do not drink at all.

3. TRACHEOSTOMY: That is meant to be part of his breathing tubes which will be connected to a ventilator. because the lungs are crappy now, am sure his secretions will be suctioned for him so that he does not drown in his own fluids.

4. G or J TUBe: That is to maintain nutrition for him and to see his if he can make a miraculous come back.

5. OROPHARYNGEAL TUBES: connected to the ventilator. helps him to breathe.

6. NASO GASTRIC TUBE: Not likely because the oro is already in, but may be they were not able to get in the oro tube and since he did not have a facial or cranial wound, he may be a candidate for the naso tube. If his his oral airway had been compromised before he got to Saudi Arabia. The dumb doctor did not intubate him, his airway would have become occluded and so we go through the nasal septum.

7. CENTRAL LINE: that is to medicate him, draw labs which will be done round the clock at least B. I.D to see his chemistry. I hope they gave him the triple lumen so that if he cannot tolerate a g-tube, he will be getting parentral nutrition. His eyes may be wide open which is kind of creepy or it may be shut. If it is my facility, we will close the eyes so that there is no corneal damage. If the eyes are left open, his people will ignorantly think he is looking at them and some times families think they see the man blinking. yeah right, The rise and fall of the chest may look even tot he uninitiated, they may think his respiration is even and unlabored, but it is the ventilator working. The man may no longer be taking spontaneous respiration. it is the machines breathing for him. The family may think other wise.

Is there something am missing? please remind me in your reply. The point is Mrs Yar'dua might be going through the stages of grief which is understandable. Look, when mine was in the throes of death, I walked in the icy rain of Washington, DC and I did not feel it. I went into denial. I almost gambled away my license. I went to Dr Yamamoto, my daughter's instructor when she rotated to Cardiology. He is the 5th cardiologist in the USA. I asked him to do a miracle. I wept like a baby because I saw him slipping into death.

Stages of grief are 4:

1. DENIAL : no it is not happening. He will come back. Lightening will strike and all of you will be shamed. I feel her pain.

2. ANGER: You feel betrayed by the patient. You blame him for being sick. You cuss at him and at every one who tells you anything contrary to what you want to hear.

3. BARGAINING; you attempt to bargain with God and get all the prayer warriors to pray to God to give you a second chance.

4. ACCEPTANCE: You accept the party is over and allow the man to go. I feel her pain. She will get there. I went through it. I cussed at mine on some occasions, I cried and rocked him like a baby in the next minute. I dropped 4 dress sizes. I went into deep sadness. I blamed every body, lashed at him while he was sick. Tried all the hospitals all over the world. Got through to a friend practicing in South Africa for a heart transplant and blew all my savings including my childrens' money hoping for a miracle. he eventually expired and I almost suffered a melt down. Now, guys, having said that, I have zero respect to all those fools in Nigeria who have what we call the FOOT MOUTH DISEASE. Seriously, there is a disease like that, but IT IS FOUND IN COWS. Those folks in the national assembly are mentally below cows in the realm of things.

May God help us, and am genuinely praying, but it is not likely the man will come back. That is however, based on the premise that all what we have read is true.

The useless Nigerian Police and their supporters (mostly corrupt and ignorant people) think InterPol is in the dark as to what is happening in Nigeria? I will make a BIG bet that Ribadu WILL NOT be arrested by InterPol! They are not dummies who do things without using their brain and looking at hard evidence!

Pray, do Nigerian Police of today and most Nigerians who live in Nigeria ever seen what a Police Department of a State can do? Heck, did I say State? No, just the Police Service of a big city? Gosh, where do I begin to break it down for you? I have seen a police service so efficient, the records of everything and everyone is archived back to the 19th century and is available in less than a minute if they needed to check it! Now, you think InterPol will waste his time on Nigeria like they are so dead and have not been paying attention to everything? The intelligence gathering when Nigeria and his security forces are sleeping on duty is forever on and a dossier on the idiots making this request is already available for printing! What a loser and shameful country without sense!

Seems like castles built in mid-air don't last anyway!

======================================

An election appellate tribunal in Kaduna has removed the first son-in-law to Umaru Yar’adua, Honorable Badamosi Kabir, from the House of Representatives.

The unanimous judgment was read by Justice Mohd Lawal Garba.

Alhaji Kabir, who is married to Maryam, the first daughter of Yar’adua, was until yesterday’s ruling a member of the House of Representatives representing Katsia Federal constituency.

The appellate panel has no option than to order fresh election into the vacant position in the next 60 days. His original opponent in the election, which was earlier nullified by a lower tribunal, has died, according to sources in Katsina.

Prior to his removal by the Court of Appeal, Kabir is mostly known for his absenteeism in the federal house.

Boni Haruna
Reprieve came the way of former Adamawa state Governor; Mr. Boni Haruna as a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has acquiesced to the release of his traveling documents including his international passport for 4 weeks to enable him travel to the United States of America for further medical diagnosis, surgery and biopsy.

Boni Haruna who is facing a 28 count amended charges filed by EFCC bordering on money laundering and stealing of public fund totaling about One Hundred and Sixty One Million Naira while at the helm of affairs in the state, has been battling a deteriorating health condition and had applied to the court for the release of his traveling papers to enable him seek medical attention abroad.

Justice Adamu Bello, while delivering his ruling on the application by Haruna, observed that the former Governor had shown good faith in his application having been granted a similar one earlier on during his trial. The Judge further observed that Boni Haruna complied diligently with the conditions of the release of his traveling documents and returned back the documents as soon as he arrived into the country. He reiterated that the opposition by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission against the application was erroneous as it was not an application for bail.

The presiding judge however refused to give the former Governor the entire number of days he requested. Haruna had requested for a period of 45 days to enable him recuperate after the surgery but the Judge only allowed him 4 weeks which will start counting from the 9th of this month to enable the former governor seek for his visa.

The judge also ordered Boni’s sureties to submit an undertaking to ensure that the former governor would not jump bail and that failure of Haruna to return his International Passport at the expiration of the 4 weeks would lead to forfeiture of their bail bond of One Hundred Million posted for the former Governor.

Well, the evil and corrupt band of robbers who are raping Nigeria to stupor have called for fasting, prayer and more fasting and prayer!! Either God is not hearing all these many prayers or he just looks and laughs at the stupidity of these "ignoramus" suegbe prayer warriors! This man has killed and lied himself into this position, yet he hasn't owned up and people without even 1 functioning brain cell are going to get leaner than their malnourished body already is? Well, that is their headache!

The "leaders" telling us this man is fine and will make a national broadcast via satellite or whatever; Nigerians who don't use their brain cells are waiting for the broadcast and binding and losing as we speak! We shall see. Hopefully, after 150 Million+ people "pray" and yet, God does not "answer", Nigeria would have seen another proof why it can't make progress by premising everything on vain and foolish prayer without action! In the meantime, I hope Yar'Liar is enjoying all the soccer games on TV and will not only declare open more universities in SA but will play squash on their new courts!

HAHAHA. . .Yar'Clueless may as well have a taste of his own medicine! What true c-in-c is so unwilling to taste the fate he has caused others. . .much better than him in character to face but he is so unwilling to face himself? For people who watched 300 (the movie), one striking statement Leonidas made when Xerxes said he will kill any of his soldiers so as to have victory was HE WILL DIE FOR ANY ONE OF HIS MEN! He stood first in the battle line and fought with the people on whose orders this men were assembled! He was willing to sacrifice even himself for any of those guys including the ones back home! That is the essence of true leadership! Any wonder that those men would rather die with him than live one extra day?

Yar'Greedy has not and did not build a decent hospital we can point to in Katsina for 8 years while he held sway as governor! He lied about suffering from just some "catarrh" during his campaign and the devil Obasanjo. . .the evil kingmaker only "forced" this senile man without any will-power or truthfulness in him on 150 Million+ people! Now, he has spent (as reported) to import billions of naira of hospital equipment and expansion for himself in Aso Rock at the expense of the people! The same people whose money has and is being stolen in the Niger Delta, yet their reward is death? What work has Yar'Adua done since to merit even a month's salary? Well, you can cheat Nigerians whose only recourse is "praying" blindly about something the God they are praying to has given them the power to do themselves!

In any event, when will the game of squash challenge you boasted about finally start? Perhaps, you will be playing this game with the many Niger Deltans, the Boko Haram joker and several regular Nigerians who have died because of your greed, actions and inactions! Well, enjoy the party for we are told you are very fine and you will live your days! (STATEMENT MADE BY A FOOL WHO WILL SUFFER THE SAME FATE AND WORSE!). How well those days will be lived is up to you for your lies will catch up with you no matter how much money or cover-up you employ!

This insanity can only happen in Nigeria! But if the several comments made by Nigerians living in Nigeria is anything to go by, it is NO BIG DEAL that Yar'DoNothing is performing even while in a vegetative state as "president"! Most Nigerians also don't care for they are usually advised to pray and keep praying for people who abandon them perpetually to seek the good things of life in foreign country! So, while people in Bauchi, Kebbi and indeed the whole of Nigeria are suffering, the 150 Million+ people are of no significance so far as the few "thieving leaders" can keep lording it over them! Well, you people should pray some more. . .for it appears God has and is hearing the prayers of the countries who demand accountability from their leaders and their systems than Nigeria whose only strategy is to pray to God for food when an abundance of it is already in front of them and even in their mouth!
Politics › Revealed: Ibori, Saraki Plan Take Over Of Presidency by CyberG(op): 8:51pm On Dec 08, 2009
Everyone shall taste death. And only on the Day of Resurrection shall you be paid your wages in full. And whoever is removed away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise, he indeed is successful. The life of this world is only the enjoyment of deception (a deceiving thing).
This is the verse of the holy Qur’an about death. So to any Muslim death is an inevitability.

It is so for Christians also. Hebrews chapter 9 vs 27 states: “Appointed for man to die once after this judgement.”

Although modern science has made it possible for human beings to know when death will come, in some cases however, it has not been able to prevent this inevitability, this reality of life. The acceptance of this inevitability due not only to our beliefs but also to the stark empirical reality of it has no doubt influenced societies since time immemorial to design how their leaders should be replaced when they die or when they are incapacitated. There is hardly any constitution today which does not have provisions dealing with this eventuality. The Nigerian constitution is clear on this. However despite its clear provisions some forces in the corridors of power are cleverly trying to circumvent them. That could create the very chaos the provisions were designed to prevent.

There is no doubt that the sickness of our President has stimulated many speculations about the future of his presidency and the direction of the country. Maneuverings by major political actors, since it became known to the general public that the sickness of sickness of Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar’adua is really serious and the revelations by doctors that it could lead to serious consequences if not properly treated has brought to the surface, one of the most fundamental aspects of Nigerian politics; the predictability of its unpredictability. Nigerian political actors try to do what would be unthinkable in many countries where state institutions are strong. Our investigations point to the unthinkable about to be enacted should the President become incapacitated or the inevitable happen. That is If some power brokers have their way.

On Saturday 28th November, the Punch newspaper published an article to the effect that Vice President Jonathan Goodluck was being pressurized to step down. According to the paper there was a plan “to create a situation where he would resign for the Senate President, David mark, to take over for three months and then organize elections, in the event that the President is unable to complete his term” And that“those who were mounting pressure on the Vice President to resign wanted to ensure that there was no loose ends. Specifically, , the V.P was under pressure to sign an undated letter of resignation”
Bukola Saraki

This news was swiftly denied by the Vice President through his Special Assistant Media. According to him, “The Vice President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is not under any pressure to resign. This wild and quite insulting claim requires no further elaboration. Certainly, the general public can discountenance such drivel”. The NTA the mouthpiece of the Federal Government of Nigeria followed suit. That the NTA carried the denial indicates that something serious was happening which requires some investigation. As it is said, there is no smoke without fire.

Our investigations revealed that contrary to the denial that the Vice President was under pressure to resign there is indeed an iota of truth in the story but not what the Punch published. The Punch story was either a decoy or a ploy intended to stimulate anti-north hatred and even attacks in the Niger-Delta. What is happening is the beginning of a power struggle in anticipation of the total incapacitation of President Umaru Yar’Adua? Should it occur, the Vice President would, according to the provisions of the constitution become the President. But the power brokers around President Yar’Adua are saying that they would not accept Vice President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. They argue that Vice President Goodluck was a light weight in Nigerian politics plucked from the University of Port Harcourt where he was teaching botany by Diepreye Alamieyesiegha to become the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State. He picked such a light weight in order to have free reign. No, Nigerian governor desires a strong deputy. It was only by a dint of good luck and the political and legal thuggery of General Olusegun Obasanjo that he became the governor of the state and later propelled onto the national scene as Vice President against the wishes of prominent Niger Delta politicians, by the same General Obasanjo, in an election widely judged to be the worse in the history of the country. These power brokers also argue that Vice President Goodluck Jonathan did not in any substantial way contribute, financially or otherwise, in bringing President Umaru Yar’ Adua and himself to power. Therefore he cannot reap what he did not sow.

Our investigations revealed that Chief James Ibori who has considerable influence on Alhaji Umaru Yar’Adua because of the role he played in his election and Dr Bukola Saraki, the Governor of Kwara State, the Chair of the Governors Forum, who has been having greater visibility in Aso Rock in recent times, are the major actors in this power struggle. Some of the officials around President Yar’Adua have become helpless in the perceived emerging situation as their influence is linked to his remaining in power. The Ibori-Saraki plan appears simple but could unravel with serious consequences. But some power hungry politicians could be reckless. In case President Yar’Adua becomes incapacitated, they will delay its announcement and then force the Vice President to resign. Immediately he resigns Chief James Ibori’s name will be forwarded to the National Assembly for approval, as the choice of President Yar’Adua for the office of Vice President. Every political arsenal would be marshalled to get the National Assembly to approve his nomination. Once it is done and he is sworn in, the Presidents incapacitation would be announced. Chief Ibori will according to section 146(1) of the Constitution become the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He will in turn “confer” with the P.D.P and nominate Dr Bukola Saraki as the new Vice President. Once Bukola Saraki’s nomination is approved by both Houses of Assembly in accordance with Section 146 (3) of the Constitution, the duo will then shift their attention to the Senate with the aim of forcing its President, David Mark out of office and replace him with his arch rival, George Akume, the former governor of Benue State. The Ministry of Justice headed by Mike Aondoakaa, whose appointment as the Minister of Justice, was influenced by George Akume, is expected to play a major role.

For Chief Ibori the success of this plan would give him automatic immunity from prosecution over the pending cases against him in courts both in Nigeria and outside. It would also put him in a vantage position, given the powers of the presidency and the weakness so far exhibited by the opposition, to ensure that he gets another four year term come 2011. This is all the more so because, as it appears, there is no desire on the part of the PDP, the governors and majority of the members of the National Assembly to reform the electoral system as contained in the report of the Electoral Reform Committee chaired by Justice Uwais. This is mainly because the latter are the beneficiaries of the large scale rigging in the previous elections which the reform seeks to address. Evidence abound to suggest that rigging would repeat itself come 2011 elections. For Bukola Saraki he would be in a better position to compete for the Presidency when James Ibori would have successfully finished his tenure. Given the zoning formula of the PDP that zoned the office of the President to the North-West this time, Saraki’s ambition may raise a serious question as to whether the politicians from the zone would be comfortable with it. This is for the simple reason that Yar’adua’s brief spell of roughly two years may be seen as inadequate.

As for the plan itself, it is based on the faulty assumption that Vice President Goodluck Jonathan is politically weak and does not have a strong base even in his geo-political zone, the South-South, and that the people of the zone would be glad to have an Ibori as a president on their behalf. But should Vice President Goodluck Jonathan refuse to resign, the only option left to these power hungry politicians would be to impeach him. He can forestall this attempt by going into alliance with other available and willing forces within the National Assembly. And even if the improbable happens and he accepts to resign there is no guarantee that the National Assembly would approve the nomination of James Ibori as the Vice President in anticipation of taking over the Presidency. In any case while the choice of the Vice President will be made in the National Assembly the actual decision as to whether Ibori’s nomination scales through or not would involve powerful political forces outside the National Assembly.

Similarly, this Ibori-Saraki conundrum plan is based on the assumption that they could put a lid on the incapacitation of the President for a long time. However, this possibility is very slim as both Nigerian and many foreign intelligence agencies would know and share information which may leak to both the Nigerian and world press. Even major Nigerian political actors would be sniffing for information. And should the ultimate incapacitation occur the Saudi authority may be left with no option other than to release information. Even if any of the above scenarios about the future of the Yar’Adua presidency is correct, it would therefore appear that there is little or no time left to compel Vice President Goodluck Jonathan to resign.

Furthermore, the plan presupposes that other forces within and outside the National Assembly are disinterested in the Vice presidency and ultimately the presidency. This may not be the case as other terribly powerful political forces may equally be interested and may make bold attempt to capture it. As mentioned earlier the only predictable factor about Nigeria politics is its unpredictability.

Politics › Yar'sick In Saudi, Yuguda Flies Pregnant Wife To Us To Deliver, Naija In Limbo by CyberG(op): 8:35pm On Dec 08, 2009
Yar’Adua’s daughter in the US to have a baby, as father continues search for answers and political manipulators take over Nigeria. PDF

Written by Saharareporters, New York

Umaru Yar’Adua’s daughter, Nafisat Yuguda, is in the United States to have her first child. She is seven months pregnant. She arrived in New York yesterday accompanied by her husband, Bauchi State governor Isah Yuguda, who has three other wives. Yuguda, whose father-in-law is in a Saudi Arabia hospital being treated for a variety of serious diseases, brought his wife to the United States because no hospital in Bauch State, which he runs, or anywhere else in Nigeria, was thought to be good enough for the delivery. Last year, Yar’Adua’s second daughter Zainab, who is equally married to another governor, Dakingari of Kebbi State, also delivered her baby in the US.

Prior to embarking on his US trip, Yuguda had just returned to Nigeria empty-handed after spending several days in Saudi Arabia unable to see Yar’Adua or confirm his condition. He was evacuated to Jeddah under a medical emergency two weeks ago.

Upon arrival in New York, the full machinery of Nigerian diplomatic presence in the United States was fully and shamelessly put in at the service of the governor. Yuguda and his family were personally accompanied and driven to the Chevy Chase area of Maryland by Ambassador Wakil, the acting Nigerian ambassador to the US, who had gone all the way to New York to receive them.

They following day, Yuguda and his family moved out of the Chevy Chase accommodation, where they stayed overnight, into a tastefully furnished apartment in Bethseda, Maryland. Nafisat is expected to stay there until she has her baby, and the Nigerian embassy in Washington DC will put its resources to cater for their every need. According to sources in Washington DC, Yuguda will leave on Arik Air on Friday, but it is not clear if he will be returning to his other wives, or to Saudi Arabia, as Bauchi State does not seem to hold any priority for the governor.
Meanwhile, officials of the Nigerian government now confirm that Yar’Adua was in “intensive care,” as had earlier been reported by Saharareporters when we detailed how he was unconscious for four hours in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, November 24, a situation which led his aides to spread the word that he had passed on to the great beyond.

Since his purported recovery from coma, no one, except his wife, has seen Yar’Adua or spoken to him. Although Yar’Adua’s VP, Goodluck Jonathan, has tried to convey the impression that he has been in touch, Saharareporters can authoritatively report that he has not spoken to his boss since Monday, November 23 shortly before Yar’Adua was evacuated. At this point, it is not even known if Yar’Adua can speak, but his emergency medical travel scuttled a planned vacation by Mr. Jonathan who had asked to go on vacation for his routine medical check-up in the US. Nigerian doctors do not trust either their own doctors or hospitals, and they do little to improve the nation’s medical infrastructure and facilities.

Yar’Adua suffers from advanced Churg Strauss Disease, in relation to which he recently admitted suffering from “Acute Pericarditis,” a critical complication of an auto-immune disease that continues to eat away at his vital organs. He has not, however, admitted to suffering from Churg Strauss syndrome.

Since admitting to a heart condition, however, many Nigerians—including his mother, friends, associates, professional bodies and individuals—have called upon Yar’Adua to resign from office and face his health condition squarely, but he seems to have chosen power over his own health. Although it is not known if he is able to make any decisions at this time, it is known that his wife, Turai and some associates, particularly the Minister of Agriculture, Abba Rumna, have waged a ferocious campaign against Nigerians that are insisting that Yar’Adua is impaired and ought to obey the constitution and resign. Some of those agitators, who come from his own home state, Katsina, co-signed a popular petition that has been circulating worldwide, and they cite, and stand by the rule of law. But a murderous group led by Yar’adua’s cousin, Zubair Gafai and funded by the Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Development Trust Fund (PTDF),Muttaqha Rabe Darma, have tragetted the former speaker of the House of Representatives and several other Katsina citizens with threats of assassination other repercussions.
Ruma and the Attorney General of the Federation, Michael Aondoakaa, who seem to be feeling very powerful, have also concluded plans to “impeach” the President of the Nigeria Bar Association, Rotimi Akeredolu, at the upcoming National Executive Council (NEC) of the NBA.

In addition, Ruma, who only spends foreign currency in Abuja, is heavily invested in the local media to keep Yar’Adua’s health matters, especially its severity, off the radar. Our sources cited a bizarre report by Lagos-based ThisDay newspaper yesterday to the effect that Yar’Adua’s letter requesting the VP to take over was “seized,” and returned to him by his legislative aide, Mohmammed Abba Aji, was part of a grand plot to divert attention from Yar’Adua’s health crisis and create some new fall guys for the failure of Yar’Adua to hand over to his VP as is required by the Nigerian constitution.

Even though, Abba Aji has denied the charges, ThisDay curiously has claimed they “stand by their story,” without providing any evidence to affirm the veracity of the story. Instead, they wrote a few tepid posers for Abba Aji, which clearly did not mesh with their earlier proclamation that he opened the letter on his way to the National Assembly, returned it to Yar’Adua, and that Yar’Adua requested the AGF to give a legal advice that never came before he was evacuated. Aondoakaa did not deny the story because apparently he might have been in on the plan to take a fall on Yar’Adua’s behalf.

Saharareporters sources said the story couldn’t have been true because, according to his doctor’s account, Yar’Adua fell ill late on Friday, when the Senate was not in session. They also attested to the fact that Abba Aji was given a draft of the budget, an incomplete copy of which he hurriedly delivered, to the National Assembly. It would be recalled that the National Assembly only received a four-page PowerPoint presentation of the national “budget.”

Political associates of Yar’Adua in Katsina say he is adept at using people around him to do his dirty jobs so as to look good, and then abandon them. While he was Katsina Governor, he travelled to Germany for six months to seek medical treatment, and handed over to his deputy, Tukur Bakori. As soon as he returned, and to cover up for his absence, Yar’Adua then had Bakori impeached for corruption, by the state legislature. The current Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Alhaji Abdullahi Garba Aminchi, was then appointed to the position of Yar'Adua's Deputy Governor. In his current position, Minchi has so far done well in planting stories in both foreign and local media manipulating Yar’Adua’s health-related information. It was he who first claimed that Yar’Adua was headed to Hajj with his wife, even though at the time, Yar’Adua was battling for life in intensive care. And recently, he claimed that Yar’Adua was watching soccer games on TV in his Jeddah hospital bed. It is not known if Yar’Adua loves soccer that much since he did not watch any of the games of the recently concluded Under-17 tournament, including the final which was held in Abuja. Minchi knew fully well that Nigerians, being soccer fanatics, would share some sympathy with a soccer–watching absentee president, but he may have under-estimated their concern at how such a leader, who swears by the rule of law, would abandon his obligations under the constitution.

In addition, Yar’Adua’s Minister of Information, Dora Akunyili, has stepped up propaganda to attack those calling for Yar’Adua’s resignation. In the last two days, including today, she has sent our curious press releases through her assistant, Julius Ogunro. In the first, she speaks on behalf of Yar’Adua’s mother to deny that she does not have any disagreement with his wife Turai; the release was sent with photos of Yar’Adua’s sister, Hajiya Mairo Musa Yar’adua. In the second, which she sent out today on behalf of Hon. Goddy Ikerave, a former member of the National Assembly, she attacked former Speaker Masari, who last week signed the patriotic petition urging the president to show loyalty to the constitution of Nigeria.
The latest intrigues are aimed are keeping Nigerians distracted and divided, which perfectly suits Yar’Adua’s agenda to cling on to power even though he would be unable to function in any serious capacity, having been sidelined by a relentless disease.

Last week, a Lebanese–American cardiac electrophysiologist, whose identity remains a secret, was to travel to meet him in Nigeria, but our sources said he had to be flown to Saudi Arabia because Yar’Adua could not travel to Nigeria last Wednesday as had been planned by members of his kitchen cabinet who wished to keep up the ruse that their meal ticket is well enough to rule 150 million people.

The cross-continental hiring of an electrophysiologist signals that Yar’Adua’s condition may be more serious than has been understood up to now, or diagnosed. Electrophysiologists are rare and specialized cardiologists who diagnose and treat of abnormal heart rhythms known as “Arrhythmias”. The field is so new and their training so rigorous that some states in the United States have fewer than 10. Arrhythmias could be deadly complication in Acute Pericarditis.

This means that to get one of them assigned to an individual and flown to Nigeria at such short notice must be costing a good chunk of the national budget Yar’Adua has been too sick to prepare.

Contrary to reports that Governor Bukola Saraki of kwara State and Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi State saw and spoke to ailing President Umaru Musa Yar' Adua at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre, Saudi Arabia, fresh information received by Pointblanknews.com reveal that both leaders lied and never met the sick President.

Vice President Goodluck Jonathan who is under intense pressure also lied when he told a muslim delegation that he has been in constant telephone contact with President Yar'Adua.

Pointblanknews.com gathered from a family source at the Saudi hospital that neither did the Governors met president Yar'Adua nor did they ever had any conversation with the sick president.

The Nigerian Government and its agents have in the last ten days continue to hide and lie about the true condition of President Yar'Adua whose health condition at the Saudi hospital remains critical.

The source maintained that the president has not been able to speak to anyone in the last ten days and visitors have been restricted to where he is currently kept.
advertisement

"I can understand why they have to say what they said but the truth is that very few people are able to see the President at this time and I can say for a fact that the Governors were not part of those who enjoy such privilege."

Both Governors who returned from Saudi Arabia on an alleged visit to the President told the Governors forum that "the President is responding well to treatment."

However, the source stated that "the president has not spoken to anyone and even when he tries to talk you can barely hear him so how can someone claim that he had a phone conversation with the President? It is just not correct."

According to the source "we have a very serious problem on our hands and it is not something I would suggest people should continue to hide and play politics with. This is something that has to do with somebody's life and we need to tell ourselves the truth."

This post is mainly for Nigerians living in Nigeria. . .for those who have a feel for what is on the ground because they have recently been visiting. . .your contributions are welcome!

In the last few days of drama, vis-a-vis the sickly president and his greed to hang on to power and his championers and defenders on Nairaland, I have been thinking maybe Nigeria is actually REALLY GOOD and Nigerians in Nigeria are not complaining, hence people on NL defend "their" president passionately and so vehemently! Personally, I am very in touch with Nigeria via family, friends and a daily reading of the news. I visited last year and plan to be there again this year. . .so I believe I am current!

However, it is possible. . .resident Nigerians feel differently, so I ask: Is Nigeria worth fighting for? Is ongoing vigorous debate. . .on NL and other sites necessary or you guys are totally cool with Nigeria the way it is? It will be nice to have people weigh in with their reasons as to why Nigeria is good the way it is and Nigerians living away from home should leave you guys alone. After all you are not complaining and you are liking and enjoying it?
Politics › Yar'adua’s Return Put Off Indefinitely, Medical Evacuation To Germany. . . by CyberG(op): 6:17pm On Dec 03, 2009
Can any employee abandon work for 10 days and not be summarily replaced. . .especially if he is responsible to 150 Million+ People?? Only in Nigeria can this insanity be condoned!

=================================

Ten days after he was admitted to the intensive care unit of a Saudi Hospital in Jeddah, the exact health condition of Umaru Yar’Adua, Nigeria’s sickly leader, remains shrouded in secrecy. But there are indications there may have been a twist in his recovery, leading to a plan to evacuate him to Germany. But political forces loyal to him are said to have scuttled that idea, fearing that it would create further anxiety in Nigeria, embolden those calling for him to resign, and weaken those supporting him.

This follows a report yesterday, by the Nigerian Tribune, that a “sharp division” has arisen between Yar’Adua’s wife, Hajia Turai, who is known to favour his retaining the presidency even if it means dying in office, and his mother, Hajia Dada Habib, who wants his health to come first.

What Saharareporters can report, for certain, is that those hoping to have him return to Nigeria have so far failed because he remains in critical care. That decision was not based on political hopes and calculations, not on medical evidence.

Meanwhile, the clamour for him to resign continues to grow among Nigerians who are concerned the nation has ground to a standstill.

For instance, since 55 Nigerians initially called for his resignation from office two days, some 800 Nigerians on Facebook have signed up in the last 72 hours endorsing that call. Similarly, another 160 Nigerians from different arts of the world have signed up on Saharareporters calling on Yar’adua to step down on account of his health and poor performance in office. Regrettably mainstream Nigerian media, including those that claim to be the nation’s most powerful, have not conducted any opinion polls on the feelings of the man on the street.

Yesterday, many of the original signatories of the petition continued to come under pressure to withdraw the popular press statement. Security agents lead by the National Security Adviser, General Sarki Mukhtar (NSA) have been offering money, threatening or blackmailing some of the signatories for their principled patriotic stand.

Saharareporters sources said the top priority of members of his kitchen cabinet remains to return him to Nigeria as soon as possible, an objective they had hoped to achieve on Wednesday. However, after Yar’Adua’s doctors in Saudi Arabia warned that he could not travel to Nigeria by that day without risking a heart attack, they seem to have backed off the idea.

It is not known how Yar’Adua’s return might be achieved. He continues to hide away from any outside reach after he was reported to have left “critical care” on Saturday where he was intubated since arrival on Monday night and then a relapse on Sunday.

Nigerian politicians who had been gathering in Jeddah hoping for early access to Yar’Adua nine days after he was hospitalized have started to return to Nigeria empty- handed. A handful of them returned to Nigeria yesterday, telling uncoordinated tales. Our sources in Jeddah said the delegation led by Governor Bukola Saraki of Kwara State did not even meet the First Lady, Turai, let alone Yar’Adua. The source challenged them to produce photos or any form of evidence that a meeting with Yar’adua took place in Jeddah.

The assertion that Saraki and others didn’t meet Yar’adua played out at the Federal Executive Council yesterday, where ministers said no evidence was presented before the council as to any contact with Yar’Adua. Several of the ministers we spoke to said the atmosphere in the council was very confusing, as they were only told that “some people” had been in touch with Yar’Adua and the council members were too intimidated to ask questions.

Some of the ministers told us that the demeanor of Michael Aondoakaa, the Attorney General of the Federation at the FEC meeting was feisty. In the words of one, the beleaguered AGF acted as though he was looking for disloyal ministers to “sacrifice for the president to get well”. The ministers said their decision, which was defiantly and arrogantly presented to the media by Dora Akunyili, Aondoakaa, Ahmed Yayale and Ojo Maduekwe, was not as a result of any fresh evidence tabled before the council. It stemmed, instead, from third party reports claiming that Yar’adua was “responding to treatment.”

Despite the bravado that those ministers put on display, “Nobody dared ask for evidence,” said a minister in confidence, “It was obvious that there was not going to be any debating of the president’s health.”

Our sources said that the kitchen cabinet members have decided that it is expedient to return him to Nigeria to continue his treatment. Although none of them has seen the man, they fear his prolonged absences would strengthen those citing constitutional provisions to compel Yar’Adua’s resignation and force politicians to line up behind Yar’Adua’s Vice-President, Goodluck Jonathan, to take over power.

Although the Federal Executive Council took a strong stance to defend Yar’Adua’s “fitness” to continue in office, our sources in Abuja said the Secretary to the Federal Government, Yayale, has been working quietly to become Goodluck Jonathan’s deputy should Yar’Adua’s health continue to deteriorate. His posture, which was unusually radical and defiant at yesterday’s media circus, was aimed at sending a coded message to northern power blocs and political leaders that he would be a tough VP who can stand his ground.

Meanwhile, serious political realignment and re-organization efforts continue in Abuja, with many calculations taking it for granted that Yar’Adua has already become something of a political invalid, if not a liability.

Western diplomats are also reportedly making contacts with emerging power brokers to look at the way forward, as medical sources in Saudi Arabia and Germany have confided in the major Western powers that Yar’Adua’s prospects of returning to active political life have dimmed considerably.

To your other points:

- I know where I come from and use my real legal names. . .forget my nose and if I have tribal marks. . .I have never had any issues with these and you can be sure I get more ladies (white or black) than you have or could.

- No "false" sense of security. . .I am confidently and totally secure in the freedoms I have. . .mind you, while Nigeria is still struggling to pass basic freedom of information bill. . .my freedom is more guaranteed here than in Nigeria! All kinds of freedom, not just information!

- You have no idea of what you talk about @ landlord statement, so I will let it slide.

- Your father's compound (indeed OURs) was hijacked a long time ago for the labor of our heroes (real fathers) past is now totally in vain with people like YaraCorrupt, Ibori and co., even the so called fathers are now ashamed! Compare what Awolowo and Zik did with the "little resources" they had then to the resources of 150 Million+ people and several billions of dollars in revenue! Your father's compound is under foreign occupation!

- Nigerian Passport is only really useful for entering Nigeria. . .if you had to travel to 5 countries within a day's notice. . .how many countries will be ready to consider your visa application, if you had time to submit one? So, you assuming you get your visa and while at a foreign airport. . .you are the only one who takes the most time to get your documents stamped, get's questioned and frisked by dogs and security (because of Green Passport) while I zoom past, would you rather not wish you had my own passport? If you were detained in a foreign country, who would you call to come and rescue you? The useless government of YaraDaft? While he is turning from side to side on a sick bed? @ Cyberg.
I have some 'modicum' of respect for you. Could you be kind enough to
have some 'modicum' of respect for our president. Is it too much to ask?

On the issue of passport- this is how u guys mess up. What you think of yourself
is more important than what others think of you. In any case, how many Nigerians
hold the green passport. The figure is more than you guys and in any case many of
you just go out to mess up our image - money 419, drugs, stashing money abroad
prostitution- you name it. That is what soils the green passport and not a sick president.
Yes, Singular, it is TOO much to ask! Respect is never asked for, either you earn it or you never get it! I respect the leaders of the government I pay taxes to and there is no question about whether they have earned that respect! In return, they totally respect me. . .more than what could be in Nigeria! They address and treat me (and the people) with total respect, they don't lie about their health, they don't steal the oil money or taxes, I have received much more here (even financially) than I could have received if I lived several times over in Nigeria, they have invested in my future, they actually come to ask and win the votes of the people and not steal it, they do not think because they are 55, 60, or 60+ automatically qualify to be respected irrespective of their actions or behavior. All these is totally foreign to the Nigerian serpent "leader" and he has no respect whatsoever!

Read my earlier post ^^^, and you will guess that I have no gripe with the Nigerian Passport! After all, if I can leave at a moment's notice to almost any country, you can be sure that I am not JUST going with a Nigerian Passport. But hey, do you know that all passports were (literally) born the same? In the years of yore, the Nigerian Passport and currency was a thing of pride anywhere! I was told this much as I did not personally experience it myself. . .same as most Nigerians about my age! But the people who made Nigeria a joke in the comity of serious nations are indirectly responsible for the people who are now into 419, drugs, stashing money abroad (e.g. YaraGoSlow and his hangers-on), prostitution, etc. How many people who live in a decent society, so built and managed have need for the extra stress or complexities of crime? If you are a criminal here. . .it is mostly your choice and a conscious decision. . .not out of need but in Nigeria, MOST people who are engaged in it have no other recourse in their life and this is as a result of the failure of Nigerian leadership of which Yaraclueless is now the pointman! "Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown" and if he cannot take the heat, he has no business in the kitchen!

That does not affect me in one bit. . .but it affects my family, my friends and several Nigerians who deserve better! If I were stuck in any country in the world. . .and I needed to be "rescued". . .I can count on someone (and people) to make that decision and execute it with dispatch! But not Nigeria! The economy that Nigerian sick leaders are milking to death is being bank-rolled by me (and other Nigerians) who send money to billions of dollars every year. . .but the man whose decision controls the wealth of the nation cannot manage it but spends it as his personal cash for treatment. . .and I should not bring this line of reasoning for people who otherwise would not have thought about it to consider it? Gani, Soyinka, Falana, Keyamo and several Nigerian activists who have in the past and present "fight" for the good of the Nigerian populace must also be frustrated for we have similar objectives but our approach and resources are different! Are they also frustrated?? Dunce, think. . .if you have the mental capacity!

BTW, you can award yourself the contract of the burial of Yarasickly liar or let the equality greedy wife deal with her business! If both of you are too lazy and only interested in money, toss his carcass to the dogs! Just as he did not care how he killed the people of the Niger Delta (this year), the Boko Haram joker and his followers and several Nigerians who have died as a result of the evil action or inaction of his government. . .so I do not a rat's behind about what happens to his body!
