War in the Creeks: Military attack premeditated — Dokubo Asari . . .It is our legitimate rights to take it, when you meet him and you try to tell him there is a need for us , he would say I just spoke to Yar’Adua, I just spoke to Jonathan, I just spoke to Uduaghan, I just spoke to Timipre Sylva , there is a need for us to find peaceful solution to this problem, it is not every time we will fight even though we have guns, we can just use it to make them to listen to us, but, we can’t fight all-out war. . . See the whole story, an interesting read! http://www.vanguardngr.com/1/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=36445&Itemid=48 |
Speaking to the root of the problem, it is YOU! All the counsel about the guy dealing with his 'insecurity' don't fly because a relationship not only requires honesty, it must also be seen that you are honest by your partner. Perception is a big part of the relationship game. Since you have done these things, not just a one-off thing, you should have thought of today but you did not. So, go deal with it, deal with yourself and leave the guy alone. Learn from your errors so next time you have a chance at loving someone, you know how not to sacrifice it cheaply only to turn to Nairaland to beg for ideas on what to do! You will know what to do next time and not looking for medicine after death. |
@Blacksta. . . I only pointed out something you will agree is true. . .and I am guessing you understand the language and can piece together the meanings conveyed by the two words in the pseudonym. Don't let me get into details. . .and distract everyone from the topic. @ Abuser ^^^ You don't deserve a response if you lack no common courtesy, respect for people and even people who are older than you. |
I think some people lack the capacity for reason, even if it relocated from their brains and perched right on their nose! Obama not coming to Nigeria speaks volumes, may not perish in real terms, but diplomatically you may call it 'perish' given the various 'responsibilities' Nigeria shoulders in Africa, it's supposed prime of place and the influence it is supposed to command. It is like the saying, do not put yourself forward in the presence of the king and be rejected, rather, remain humble until you are invited to the high table. Nigeria did just that and was rejected. If Yar'adua the number one person who should be the personification of Nigeria has been so disdainfully rejected, what value is a Nigerian? Isn't he like a leper other peoples wish to stay away from lest they become contaminated by it's vices? By snubbing Yar'adua, a lot of other countries will easily now snub us - most of them interpret things in a different way other than Nigerian leader, elites and *some* compromised Nigerians do. When a country that sends financial aid to your country in the millions, a leader of the most powerful country in the world rejects you but listens and gives attention to the 'smaller', countries that have been working in the trenches and striving to better their lot, it speaks volumes. Anyone who cannot connect the dots yet is out of his league trying to join a conversation he has no intellectual capacity to grasp or debate. |
For all the goodhearted people trying to have a conversation. . .kudos. . .but if you see someone who is so behind on the issues and all he could contribute is an expletive, he deserves no response. Someone thinks another country is the best place to be in the whole world while his country went to the dogs a long time ago, yet he has no light to shine onto his country's darkness today when there is still hope for redemption? His character is not different from Yar'adull and he's got no honor. If he or she were a few days old, perhaps he may get off on the excuse of ignorance, which by the way is really no excuse. Clearly, he is way out of his league here and just doesn't get it and never will. Or worse still, he has decided to play the fool. By the way, a name such as sour grapes and bitterness depict a curse, it should be a concern if anyone takes such a pseudonym on his own head! |
Obama hosts first African president United States President Barack Obama on Thursday hosted Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete at the White House in Washington DC. advertisement This made Kikwete the first African president to be hosted by Obama since he assumed office on January 20, Empowered Newswire reported. As at press time, the meeting between Obama and Kikwete was yet to hold as it was billed for 4:15pm Eastern Standard Time on Thursday, according to a bulletin of the US State Department made available to Empowered Newswire. Diplomatic sources confirmed that Nigeria's Foreign Affairs Minister, Chief Ojo Maduekwe, had earlier requested a presidential visit to the White House in March when he met wit the US Secretary of State, Mrs. Hillary Clinton. But it was gathered that the US government had been very reluctant to act positively on that request. Only on Tuesday Clinton at her first global press conference was asked whether President Obama's trip to Ghana was not a snub to countries like Nigeria. In response, she said the visit to Ghana is "to demonstrate our commitment to Africa. It is not meant in any other way than what I just said. It is intended to tee up what will be a continuing intensive engagement with Africa." A White House statement announcing the Tanzanian president's visit to the White House also stressed the commitment of the Obama administration to the promotion of good governance in Africa, just as the statement on the visit to Ghana had noted earlier. This is being interpreted in diplomatic circles as a hint of displeasure from the Obama administration on Nigeria's governance record lately. According to the statement Obama is looking "forward to welcoming President Kikwete of Tanzania to the Oval Office on Thursday, May 21, 2009. Tanzania is a strong partner in sub-Saharan Africa, and the two leaders will meet to discuss a wide range of regional and bilateral issues, including how the United States can support sound governance, economic development, and stability throughout the continent." Succinctly and just right on the money, you could hardly have graded this student any better. See Yara's report card now: http://www.saharareporters.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=2824:yaraduas-midterm-report-card-saharareporters&catid=1:latest-news&Itemid=18 Is there a way to mail him a copy as he is brain dead enough never to see or wish to see his piece of crap report! Is it possible for anyone to get the Nigeria's mainstream print media to put a copy in their dailies? (Yes, I know they may decline as they, mostly, have been compromised but trying ain't a bad idea). |
@Posters. . . I don't intend to rock your boat, but PLEASE use your HEAD properly - kick TRIBALISM out of your THINKING NOW! We've got a problem in Nigeria and fighting it and winning will be as difficult as it gets, why allow one of the biggest dividers of all to stand in our way? PLEASE, look beyond "YOUR TRIBE" and references to past wars that cannot be and is not useful to OUR cause now. Let us put on our thinking caps and think straight. Two people will never work together except they be in agreement and agreement will never happen when you allow tribal sentiments to becloud your mind and judgment. Stay on the issues and this could be a vibrant and vigorous debate to be read, even, by generations unborn. |
If Nigeria truly implements a tax regime that is effective, works for the state and for the PEOPLE. . .then everyone should pay taxes as individuals for as long as they are NIGERIANS. If they use the good roads, they enjoy security, they get good education, they get welfare, they have access to good health care. . .all like the nations who have solid tax regimes. . .then WE SHOULD all pay taxes. One thing I should mention also, much as we all pay taxes, the government also issues tax refunds such that you get cash back from the government. I know over here, the check is sent to you every quarter and this is really good! Imagine after paying your taxes, and it is used judiciously. . .you get a check in your mail from the government? You will hardly complain next time you pay taxes! |
The chief kidnappers are now becoming the kidnapee! Don't you guys see the connection? A long time ago, the chief kidnappers kidnapped the jobs, educational opportunities, a decent wage for a day's job, light, water, security, a future for the upcoming generation, hope and everything that is rightfully the right of every man. Now, the chicken has come home to roost. . .let Ayodele the NEPA kidnapper suck it up. . .he should be lucky to get away alive. I am waiting for kidnappers, militants and robbers to form a union. . .march on Aso Rock and the National Assembly and do their stock-in-trade! On their way out, dash all the bastards bullets and remote bombs to complete their mission. |
@Lax. . .you are right on the money. . .this should be a major concern for Nigerians and its leaders. It is possible for some to think this will not affect Nigeria. . .well, it is better to be prepared otherwise. . .Nigeria's dream 202020202020 just got squared! In 1961, the then President J. F Kennedy challenged Americans and launched their space program. This was at a time when technology and knowledge was far limited and space represented a new frontier to be conquered? They accomplished their mission and have broken most of their record achievements ever since. Well, increasing EPA standards will be far easier than developing space technology. If history points to anything, they have accomplished most challenges that confronted them successfully and this will not be an exception. But that is the USA, what is the pretentious servant leader and his gang of robbers doing? Suyaing, kunuing, big stouting and womanising while dishing out kill'em orders to wipe out the people in the Niger Delta? Thank you Obama for not honoring the beggarly, do-or-die election-rigging, conscience-stealing, arodan joker of a non-president with your audience. . .who will only gleefully announce to the whole world. . .'your visit is the best day of his life'! |
Hey PatWhiz. . .good to know you are in Canada too! Time to get a new town crier to go looking for Nlanders o. . .we suppose still plenty here. . .oya, where una dey? ![]() |
Nigeria, apparently, got some things right to extent before the maladministration of Yaradua. The fight against corruption was one of them but as soon as the emptier of the empty barrels took over government, EFCC, the signpost of the fight against corruption came under attack! He was accused of being corrupt, selectivity and a host more including ownership of properties in Dubai and the West. Well, we are still waiting for the proof of this allegations. Ribadu was the chairman of the EFCC for 5 years. However, the thief in Aso Rock, bereft of any independent and competent mind of his own, kicked out Ribadu cowardly and installed Farida Waziri. Of course, she had her brief and was just one of the pieces in a grand chess game played with the lives of 140 million people, most of them mere pawns, only meant for sacrifice. Most Nigerians know the whole story and I should save it for another day. However, in a few short months, Waziri is now stinking rich, talking in millions on a daily basis. . .and the chief thief and killer has now ordered an investigation. Who is deceiving who? Meanwhile, remember that all the billions you are about to read about is not from any productive venture undertaken by these people that takes a raw material and adds value to it by production but OIL MONEY from the NIGER DELTA, hundreds of natives who have just and are presently being killed by the moronic, blood-obsessed and wicked government of Yaradua - may your end and your ilk not be different from those you have so killed brutally, violently and in cold blood! Massive looting at EFCC Waziri fingered ICPC findings messy - National Daily Is this the beginning of the end of the incumbent Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Mrs. Farida Waziri? The question becomes pertinent should one consider the precarious situation the former Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) has suddenly found herself. National Daily authoritatively gathered that the Presidency has ordered a comprehensive probe to be carried out regarding Mrs. Farida's handling of the commission's purse. . . Read the whole story here: http://www.saharareporters.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=2790:-massive-looting-at-efcc-waziri-fingered-icpc-findings-messy-national-daily&catid=1:latest-news&Itemid=18 |
Any surprise Nigeria cannot move forward? Why the unnecessary fight and name calling. . .on something so fundamental as corruption. . .being discussed here? I am not interested in responding to the poster who just overheard a new word in a conversation and gleefully comes to announce it here on NL, using it on people you know nothing about! If you are incapable of adding meaningful value and contribution to a discussion germane to the progress of your country, it is far better to hold your peace and listen than to spread the odium of insipid ignorance and base name-calling with your garrulous tongue! |
walakolobo:Did you mean victimized by a corrupt government to further it`s agenda, keep you out of Nigeria and if you are there, make your life of little worth compared to dogs in the country the same man is speaking? Well, for your information, unlike Nigeria, their law makers don`t piss around and waste their time like they had nothing to do with it - plus Ribadu was not the only person invited. I think the reasoning world left you behind a long time ago. |
As the grossly corrupt and incompetent government of Nigeria, Yar'adua, its ruling elites and their hangers-on intensify their offensive to destroy and bring the country on his kneels, a discussion that could and should change the landscape of Nigeria for good proceeded at the US House of Representatives. The empty barrel in Aso Rock, dull man Yara, has sold Nigeria on a 7-point mirage, a dream 20202020 and although he and his gang of evil marauders have access to this information, they are sure to ignore it and maybe write it off, like they have written off Nigerians every time. The day of their shame and destruction cometh! Capital Loss and Corruption: The Example of Nigeria -Ribadu testifies before US House Good morning, Chairman Frank, distinguished US Representatives of the Committee, and thank you for this very kind invitation to offer testimony as part of this panel. The global financial crisis has made nothing so clear as the fact that the global economy is now highly integrated and interconnected. What affects one corner of the globe will reach to all other corners, and the lack of proper regulation and oversight in one place can undermine stability far away. . . .Between 1960 and 1999, Nigerian officials had stolen or wasted more than $440 billion. That is six times the Marshall Plan, the total sum needed to rebuild a devastated Europe in the aftermath of the Second World War. When you look across a nation and a continent riddled with poverty and weak institutions, and you think of what this money could have done – only then can you truly understand the crime of corruption, and the almost inhuman indifference that is required by those who wield it for personal gain. . . @Babasoty. . . I feel you. . .are you in Naija? You can email (address on my profile). |
The 'number 1' man in Nigeria went begging cap-in-hand asking to visit Obama in his own house - the White House. The State Department allowed one of its lower-ranked personnel to attend to your number 1 man's emissaries - not even the Secretary of State (Hillary), heck, even a senior official. Nigerians who have lived abroad understand that these people do not just do something. . .everything is well planned, down to the finest details. . .so this was not a random occurrence. Next, the same Obama announces to visit another country (Ghana) just at our backyard in their own country without lobbying, begging or asking, doesn't that speak volumes?. . .but some Nigerians will still defend the indefensible! If only Nigeria had done a few things just right and gotten a few things wrong since 2007, the eyes of the world could have been on Nigeria now, during the visit and afterward for good! What a free opportunity to truly re-brand Nigeria when all the cameras from a lot of countries will be here 'for free'. . .beaming live images throughout his time in the country? Yet someone, like a child who has just been chastised, says "we don't care for the visit afterward". . .but your president went BEGGING for a VISIT in the first place and GOT an embarrassing NO. . .who doesn't know that? So, if your number 1 got such a treatment, who is the number 121,000,000?? person who says it doesn't matter? Well, like the G20 case, wait for the excuses, whining and lamentation of your number 1, empty Yaradull. Some people are just blessed with a short memory and non-objective thinking! |
While Yara is killing Nigerians using the military financed with Nigerians money. . .here is what he does by the side: With Eye to Rigging in 2011, Yar’adua Approves List of Corrupt Justices for Appeal Court At every opportunity, Umaru Musa Yar’adua speaks at length about his determination to be an agent of electoral reform that would enthrone the culture of credible elections in Nigeria beginning in 2011. However, an extensive investigation by Saharareporters has uncovered a plan by Yar’adua to ensure that he and the ruling Peoples Democratic Party hold on to power through illegitimate means. Saharareporters has learned that Yar’adua as well as outgoing President of Court of Appeal, Umaru Abdullahi, have drawn up a list of the most notoriously corrupt and inept justices for appointment to the appellate branch of the judiciary. Our informants revealed that the list has been sent to the Nigerian Federal Judicial Commission. According to one source, “If the list of proposed new justices are approved, Yar’adua and the PDP will be positioned to rig the electoral process at two ends – by getting INEC to announce falsified results and then buying judicial affirmation of the fraudulent outcomes.” . . .see http://www.saharareporters.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=2778:with-eye-to-rigging-in-2011-yaradua-approves-list-of-corrupt-justices-for-appeal-court&catid=1:latest-news&Itemid=18 for the whole story! |
@Yicob. . . I can relate with your comment. . .honestly, these days, I wonder if I should have undergone a different training, perhaps that knowledge would come in handy now! |
Like most people who desire the good of Nigeria and want it today, NOT in 20202020, the news from Nigeria is hardly anything to be happy about. Recently, Yaradua unleashed a campaign of death on the ND, while ignoring the fact that there is no achievement he can point to today after 2 years in the saddle. Some people may mistake my passion for narrow sectarian sentiments. . .NO. . .I am Nigerian and there's no tribal allegiance here. I am just so frustrated, flabbergasted and pushed to the wall about Nigeria! But how easy is it to give-up on your own home, is there a surgery that can take out NIGERIA out of a NIGERIAN and INSTALL another country in him? Point is: Nigeria cannot continue this way! Either a peaceful resolution of issues or a violent revolution. . .this government cannot eat all the cake and still have it! Since the Nigerian government has demonstrated its disdain and disregard for the former, the obvious choice is the latter. For the protests being organized by the NLC. . .that can continue but the ND being killed is so wrong and unfair. Should MEND, NDPVF or their agents read this, PLEASE, it's time to deliver the checkmate to the fools in Aso Rock, the robbers at the National Assembly and their hangers-on! I read in the papers, today, that insanity-riddled Yaradua is contemplating (perhaps, already) executing an all-out, once and for all offensive on the ND. . .what a calamity. . .to go and kill more people, shed blood and further pollute a land that has drunk so much blood it curses it's traducers. . .for what? OIL MONEY! So, Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) should be made and shipped to Abuja immediately! Remote bombs should be planted on their expensive vehicles and opulent homes built with the blood of humans, stolen oil and diabolic appeasements of evil. It should be possible to hijack, cease or rent a fighter plane. . .and fly it directly to Aso Rock, empty the entire bomb arsenal, hopefully, it carries bunker busters and the most brutal warheads and shred those thieving bastards to HELL, where they belong! Even with just the IEDs deployed at all the money-sharing and evil planning meetings of theirs, Yara idiot and the ruling elites including their state governors, if their brains and bowels have not been blown to shreds, will be forced to abandon this continual destruction of Nigeria and drive home a revolution to bring Nigeria out of impending destruction. This is perhaps the only option to salvage this country after dialogue has and continues to fail because you cannot dialogue alone. Ghana's elites had their own treatment via Rawlings and today, Nigerians are moving there. . .because, finally, they got it! Nigeria needs to get it and whatever it takes, we need to take this country back! |
What SADNESS to read the MADNESS of the government in Nigeria? No words can describe my feelings when I read the gargantuan human killings, shedding of blood and wanton destruction in Nigeria! What a frustration! In the first place, in the face of justice and equity, it will be difficult to support and justify the actions of MEND and such groups but clearly, the government of Nigeria knows nothing about fairness, justice and equity! How can any government deploy so much military force when it knows there are civilians, young children, pregnant women, old and weak people that are MOST likely to be killed in a most violent way? These are people who have suffered so much in life already, UNJUSTLY, while their slave masters live on their resources and still go and KILL them like this? Gosh, how terrible and horrible! Well, in case MEND or their agents ever read this messages on NL, I have only one suggestion: PLEASE DELIVER THE MASTER STROKE ONCE AND FOR ALL AND PUT US ALL OUT OF THIS MISERY! It is time to employ new strategies as the Nigerian forces are still in the 60s. . .it is time to make IEDs, remote bombs, even if it were possible to hijack one of their own bomber planes they have used to decimate human lives - give them a taste of their own medicine! No need to let them come to fight in the ND, the IEDs will be very useful in Abuja. . .lace the roads leading to the seat of this corrupt and wicked government with them and blow them right to HELL. Attach remote bombs to the Bentleys, Mercedes, BMW, limousines they have stolen money to accumulate and better still. . .let them go off when they are at their evil devices on how to steal money or rig elections. If fighter planes could be hijacked, rented, bought. . .whatever. . .one bunker busting bomb in Aso Rock and another at the senate will be sufficient right in their council meeting or 'executive' meeting will be more effective than all the fighting and killing already impoverished soldiers (who are zombies, by the way) who are not paid a decent wage and will be slammed into life imprisonment if they even asked for their meager salary! |
. . .(Continued) Finally, did you see the performance of Yaradua at the last time he had audience with 2 Presidents at 2 different times: Yar'adua Meets Bush at White House https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jIVzzccJyHE The PM and President Yar'Adua of Nigeria https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPbFiVhjVMw Do you think whatever statements he made then have not been evaluated over time to see if he was honest? They do not suffer from short memory syndrome like Nigerian leaders! What of body language? His demeanor? How impressed do you feel knowing this is the 'best' to represent us on the world stage? Now, imagine you will be meeting this same man who clearly had no (or at best a weak) presence in earlier meetings. . .what substance has he got to showcase to the world while the cameras are on Obama and him? Why did Yaradua send Maduekwe & Co, recently, to 'lobby' for a meeting to be arranged with Obama with the resultant snubbing we got? As it stands, Yara has no political capital and will add no value to a discussion on democracy and good governance, which he really knows nothing about! |
I will break this down into two posts: The decision of the Obama administration to visit Ghana and not Nigeria, believe it or not, could not have been made lightly. First, we must recognize that the US have very STRONG intelligence gathering on Nigeria (and all their interests) and Obama gets detailed security reports on a daily basis. . .highly classified information about almost everything of US interests. So, "our secrets" are so wide open, they are no secrets! Everything from the flawed 2007 elections, to the Ekiti shame of an election, corruption (KBR, Siemens, , fill in the gap), absence and continual collapse of infrastructure, continuous killings in the Niger Delta. . .while Yaradua keeps lying about 7 point (non) agenda, lying about his health, lying about electoral reforms, collecting aid money (in whatever form for EFCC and any government agencies without results to show), no significant improvement since he got rigged in. . .etc are open and not hidden at all. Now, if Nigeria is what it has been but has made any meaningful progress and appears to be making progress, perhaps, a viable argument may be made in that case, but as it is, there is NONE. While Nigerian leaders think little of the examples they set, their values, actions or inactions, the American president has a very different set of values that the Nigerian one, as it is, completely contradicts. Obama cannot stand on the same platform with this man because doing so is viewed as an endorsement of some sort, and also indirectly endorses all the corrupt alliances and dealings of Yaradua through Ibori, Turaki, Andoakaa, Waziri. . .do Nigerians think they don't know all those details? You can bet your last dime, all the reports are diligently recorded and analyzed before a decision as this is made. |
chidichris:@Chidichris. . . My post communicated what I had in mind and obviously. . .from the responses. . .some people can relate with the substance of it. Also, you know nothing about me. . .so you shouldn't be concluding that 'poster seeks notice'. . . but I only CARE that an issue as this be addressed. I do not intend to trip-up the conversation by giving the problem the center-stage, mentioning this tribe and that tribe, etc. . .this is so unnecessary. . .but how many times have Nigerians DESTROYED a promising IDEA because it is from a certain tribe, how many times have issues on Nairaland (and in Nigeria) been discussed objectively as people talking as NIGERIANS and not getting into arguments about virtually everything? Worse still, often times, a position on an issue is informed by tribal sentiments. . .and the argument goes on ad-infintum. . .with the back and forth. . . the 'I-must-have-the-last-word' on this issue? It is a terrible thing if virtually every issue ends up in an argument. . .among US. . .and it becomes impossible to arrive at an objective position and find common ground. How is forward, progressive movement possible in such a situation? I agree on your point about the leadership problem in Nigeria and hope more Nigerians can make their choice to see NIGERIA as ONE and not through the narrow lens of tribes. This is one of the secrets of progressive nations NIGERIA is hoping to catch-up with in future. |
ikeyman00: ikeyman00: Ikeyman. . . I presume, from your posts, you are incapable of adding ANY value to this discussion that should be approached with respect and civility. . .but that is YOU. It is not necessary to contribute to a conversation if you have nothing of value to say. |
@Poster. . . It's good and encouraging to hear of your noble intentions. Regarding your off-topic statement, I have a situation in which the newspaper website: Nigeriaworld.com is not accessible from my work environment. Knowing how these things work, there was no doubt access was disabled because of the "Nigeria" part of the site name. . .only if Nigerian leadership knew how much REAL 're-branding' required to even make serious countries take one more 'fair' look at the country their inept leadership has driven to the precipices of utter destruction! |
blacksta: @Blacksta. . . No doubt, Nairaland presents opportunities to interact with others, learn and exchange ideas which I think is good. However, believe it or not, Nairaland is a microcosm of Nigerians and the common issues that confront us as a people. Therefore, it gives a snapshot of US. . .and the conversations and attitudes presented here are, pretty much, the same in our real (offline) day-to-day interactions with ourselves. Though, I wouldn't use the word 'conclusion' but I doubt if this view of Nigeria is 'unbalanced'. The IMPORT of this conversation is to RISE ABOVE this CANCER that makes US go at each others' throats. . .and when the dust is settled, what is OUR NET GAIN? No, it is not ZERO, it is NEGATIVE (minus). Over and over again, we seem not to realize this HURTS US (everyone). . .look at history, look at now and the future? History cannot be changed but what of now (today) and tomorrow? Are we incapable of learning from the past? Has ANY BUSINESS, COUNTRY or INDIVIDUAL made any progress and profit by accumulating escalating deficits year in, year out? We CAN THINK DIFFERENT, rise above this pettiness. . .if we so CHOOSE. The choice was and is OURS, what WILL YOU CHOOSE? |
ikeyman00:[/b] This is the only response that has added NO VALUE to this CONVERSATION. . . a cursory look at the TONE of your responses on other threads leaves no one in DOUBT that a conversation such as this is an antithesis to your VALUES. By the way, who gave you the right to make a judgment on this thread or people's views? You are neither a tin God nor a judge except, of course, you are hallucinating! Regardless of where you are coming from, put on your thinking cap: Is this what you plan to bequeath to upcoming generations including your own children? |
Is it not SHAMEFUL that ALMOST every issue gets the TRIBALISM sickness, even in a POLITICS thread which should be for vigorous, honest and progressive conversation? WE need to CHANGE this attitude. . .to make any progress as a COUNTRY. For those who won't change but rather foster and accelerate the spread and perpetuity of this CANCER, YOU ARE THE REASON why NIGERIA CANNOT make ANY meaningful progress. Please, let US stop ALREADY, be mature and let US think and APPROACH issues as ONE PEOPLE. It is time to rise above the TRIBALISM that has NOT brought us ANY meaningful progress, has DIVIDED the country and HELD us down. While the host countries we travel to or talk about, often in positive terms, make progress. . .it is disgraceful that TRIBALISTIC sentiments and topics are WHAT we spend our days talking about, this retrogressive back and forth, tit for tat ('We are better than you people', 'I big pass my neighbour', etc) are so UNHELPFUL to us. . .and a LOT of US are, supposedly, enlightened, is it not a SHAME? The much older generation did it, NO GOOD RESULT, the immediate old generation did it, FAILURE, see where we are. . .now, it is OUR turn. . .and when your KIDS and upcoming generations ask you, YOU'D BLAME the older ONES? It is TIME to CHANGE. . .we CAN make a CHANGE if we WANT to. . .don't dignify TRIBALISTIC sentiments with a RESPONSE. . .otherwise. . .YOU are just as much the problem of NIGERIA as our FAILING and already FAILED leaders. |
Having seen posts about NLanders in the US and UK. . .if you are in Canada. . .please indicate! |
