Romance › Re: My Heart Has Been Torn Apart! by CzarChris(m): 12:35pm On Feb 13, 2016 |
@hurting, I was in your exact shoes in 2009, the only difference is that my relationship lasted for 3 years plus and like you that heartbreak experience was my 1st thread on nairaland. But fate works mysteriously, my ex dumped me in November of 2009 and I got a dream job with a multinational company on December of the same year, by February of 2010, she was begging to come back and I said an emphatic no. To cut the long story short she actually begged me for like 2 years and I stood my grounds. She is married now with a kid to a "moneybag", but she's not happy. She actually called me last November telling me how miserable she felt in her matrimonial home and wished she could turn back the hands of time .
Me on the other hand, sometimes I wonder if I wasn't too rigid in my decision back then(there is no human being who doesn't want a better life).
OP, to get her back or not to fight for her, nobody can make these decisions for you. The question is can you live with yourself after the decisions you made?
BTW, suicide is definitely not an option. |

MathsChic: It would take a really long while. Gravitational waves are very, very weak. Almost indiscernible. It took on upgrade on those interferometers to detect the weak energy from the biggest collision that could ever produce gravitational waves. Agreed, but let's look at its application using a hovercraft as a case in point. Hovercrafts use thick trampoline like sheets to prevent escape of accumulated air so as not to waste energy in generating more. Now a little manipulation of gravitational waves can remove that bulky exterior and the craft can float comfortably. So in my opinion much isn't needed, remember how man tends to misuse technology manipulate it too much and our earth's gravitational field is in danger. |

Foreign Affairs › Re: New Year Eve Sex Assault Fuels German Migrants Debate by CzarChris(m): 10:43pm On Jan 06, 2016 |
vivalavida: Berlin (CNN)A spate of alleged sexual assaults and robberies at New Year's Eve festivities in the German city of Cologne has fueled a political firestorm over immigration in Germany. Ninety criminal incidents, a quarter of which were sexual assaults, were reported following New Year's Eve celebrations in the city, Cologne police told CNN. Police said victims described the perpetrators as gangs of Arab or North African men. Many of the assaults were likely intended to distract, allowing attackers to steal mobile phones and other devices, police said. Authorities said the crimes, including a rape, occurred around the train station, next to the western German city's landmark cathedral. Video footage of the celebrations in the area show riotous scenes, with revelers shooting fireworks into crowds. In a phone call with Cologne Mayor Henriette Reker Tuesday, German Chancellor Angela Merkel expressed outrage over the attacks, labeling them "disgusting" and calling for the culprits to be identified and punished as soon as possible, CNN affiliate ARD reported. Cologne police Chief Wolfgang Albers said at a press conference Monday that the incidents were "intolerable," describing them as "crimes of a totally new dimension." The episode raised questions about the viability of Cologne's famous Carnival next month when hundreds of thousands are expected to join celebrations on city streets, he said. A smaller number of similar assaults also were reported in the German city of Hamburg on New Year's Eve, Hamburg police told CNN. 'We as women suffered' One of the Cologne victims said she was too scared to go out alone following the ordeal. "The men surrounded us and started to grab our behinds and touch our crotches," she said. "They touched us everywhere. I wanted to take my friend and leave. I turned around and in that moment someone grabbed my bag." She said she feared she could be killed or raped by the attackers. "Nobody noticed and nobody helped us. I just wanted to get out." Another victim said she had unsuccessfully tried to fight off her assailant. "But there were so many people around me that there was no control. There was no way out. There was no way to protect yourself," she said. "We ran to the police. But we saw the police were so understaffed. They couldn't take care of us and we as women suffered the price." Protests, crisis meeting The New Year's Eve reports have sparked a fierce outcry in Germany, with protesters gathering at the site of the alleged attacks. On social media, some accused the news media of failing to report on the assaults in a timely fashion due to sensitivities around the alleged ethnic identities of the assailants. Germany has taken the largest numbers of migrants from the influx that has created a crisis on Europe's borders, but many Germans have expressed opposition to the sudden arrival of so many, predominantly Muslim, migrants, questioning their ability to adapt to a European way of life. Inside march against Islam in Germany Inside march against Islam in Germany 02:24 Read more: Germany's anti-migrant protest -- 'We don't want to be strangers in our own country' Following a crisis meeting with the city's police Tuesday, Reker, Cologne's mayor, said at a press conference that the perpetrators would be pursued and measures taken to prevent any repeats of such incidents. In cooperation with police, her office will produce a book of rules on how to behave during Carnival. "We have to explain to people from other cultures that the jolly and frisky attitude during our Carnival is not a sign of sexual openness," Reker said. Albers, the police chief, said at the conference Tuesday that the description from the victims was the only thing known about the perpetrators. Police have received a lot of cell phone footage from the evening that will take time to work through, he said. A migration issue? German Justice Minister Heiko Maas said at a press conference Tuesday that assaults were "not acceptable" and "must not be allowed to be repeated." "We must clarify if what happened is a new form of organized crime against which the state must take measures," he said. German Justice Minister Heiko Maas addresses the assaults in Cologne. German Justice Minister Heiko Maas addresses the assaults in Cologne. Maas also warned against linking the assaults to the immigration issue, which has become a subject of heated debate in Germany. "During these investigations it will become clear which circle of perpetrators is involved," he said. "Making this an issue through over-simplifications, and connecting it to the issue of refugees is nothing more than misuse of the debate. Now it is about determining the facts and drawing the necessary conclusions," he said. Europe's migrant crisis by the numbers Europe's migrant crisis by the numbers 01:17 But other politicians were forthright in linking the reported assaults to Germany's welcoming approach to migrants. Steffen Bilger, a member of parliament for Merkel's Christian Democratic Union, tweeted that the reportsdemonstrated the urgent need for Germany to reduce its migrant intake, secure its borders, intensify deportations and uphold "consistent justice."

The army didn't just massacre these pple on the highway, they went ahead to attack them in their homes, destroy their houses, kill more pple including women and children, destroy their mosques and cemetery, etc. I don't know if they were raped or not, but they cld very well be saying the truth, yet many Nigerians who can't see beyond their nostrils, hail the trigger happy animalistic army while persecuting the oppressed.
More grease to ur elbows, I pray u or ur family don't become victim of circumstances, then we'll all gladly come out and call u liars when u start wailing. We all condemn the military' action, but we are forgetting one very important detail. Why on earth would someone block a federal Highway and ask that nobody should pass, even the COAS? What impudence, it beats my imagination."A FEDERAL HIGHWAY ". On the above story, I doubt it's authenticity, cos people always say stuff like these in situations like this to wipe up emotions./sentiments. But an investigation should be called for to determine the validity of the claim. |

Rapmoney: Being a bachelor in our society can sometimes come with certain pains and deprivations! . Well, it is all good sha! Some things are better to be experienced than for you to be told If you still think only ladies share from it, you are on a long thing!
1) When you go to the market to buy foodstuffs, the traders notice you easily as a bachelor and some would want to use that as an opportunity to make abnormal profits off you, especially, when you don't have a regular customer you buy from! If na for me, market fall press them because I sabi price well well o! I fit price your 500Naira fish for 150Naira!!! . Na joke I dey o!
2) You close from work after a hard day's job, feeling tired and weak but you still have to prepare what to eat...unless you want to settle for junk foods such as Akara and bread or bread and fanta (Truckman's sandwich)
3) You open your facebook page and it seems everyone you knew out there back in school is getting married! You just feel like uploading your marriage pics too!
4) You are having a swell time in the office and a naughty colleague of yours throws in a joke of you being a 'Manchelor' without realizing the mental effect of it. What do you do? You laugh it off...apply humour!
5) Family people are sharing things and they give you a small portion...before you make an attempt to complain, someone stands up to remind you that you are not married yet, that those that got bigger portions are family men.
6) You hardly tell your landlord that you don't have money for utility bills yet; he is bound to ask you: 'You dor marry?' 'Do you have kids you feed?' 'Wetin you dey use money dey do?' See me see problem o! So I don't have personal expenses because I am not married?
7) They inaugurate a committee in your company and they give the key roles to the married folks who are less competent than you! Why? The management think they are more responsible Error!!!
8. When you are very free and open, neighbours, especially, the female ones, take advantage. They enter your crib at random, open your freezer and help themselves with beverages and foods! Who go challenge dem?
9) Sometimes when you do business with married folks, they want to take advantage of it as they feel they need more money than you since they have mouths to feed. Ogbeni, stop it! Na me give your wife belle to born children?
10) Friends keep pointing out girls they know that can make good wives. When some see you chilling with a babe, they secretly tell you, 'Dis one fit you o! Marry am na'!!! Without even knowing who she is. So e mean say me no get eyes and mind of my own again?
2016...Lips sealed!!! Guy ehh, d tin d vex die. Imagine my kindred..... yes my whole kindred call me for family meeting 3 days ago, on dz marriage matter. Shuuuu, to be only son na curse? Wetin sef? |

Obudupikin: Dear OP you made two mistakes;
The first was, through your actions, you showed the girl that you love her a lot even before she got used to you. Therefore, she took advantage of that.
Secondly, that mssg you sent her was a wrong move because it only made her indignant and more defensive. It's obvious the girl has lot of admirers and she saw you as one of them. Therefore, what your mssg implied to her was that you saw yourself as something other than that.
But the damage had been done,here is what you should do;
1) Send her an apology text without explicitly seeming sorry. E.g,"although your attitude was childish,I shldnt have sent such mssg to you. For that,I apologise"
2)Ignore her. Don't communicate with her again until you see her face to face.
These two moves have their purposes but I can't start explaining here.
If you really LOVE(emphasis on love) the girl,I'd like to help you get her. We can do PM's.
Note; No girl is above you. You just need to know her thumbscrew.
Thank You. Spoken like a true player. But for me, most times I just press the ignore button. Cos when you get close to some of these ladies, you'll discover that mostly it's just hype, they are not worth it. |

MyndABastard: Sunnis hate every other religion, group and non sunni led Nation in short they hate every other people as long as you are not Sunni.
But the greatest hatred they have is reserved to the Shiite sect of Islam.
ISIS was formed by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi in central Iraq during the US occupation.
al-Zarqawi was originally a member of Al Qaeda but he will later leave the Terror group to form ISIS.
Since then, ISIS has far out shadowed Al Qaeda in barbarity and recruitment drive.
Osama bin Laden condemned the killing or targeting of Moslems and his main enemy focus was the infidel West and the State of Israel.
Osama's Al Qaeda was more of a political struggle and there were hardly any attacks carried out by the group on places of worship.
The US invasion and occupation of Iraq changed all this after democratic elections where held in the Shiite majority Iraq which saw to the first ever Shiite ruled and majority govt. Iraq prior had been under the supreme control of Sunnis. And given that the Shiites were running the country in conjunction with the US occupation force, a deep sense of betrayal was planted in the hearts and minds of the Sunnis against their fellow Shiites.
Other factors that saw a rise in sectarian violence were the flourishing Shiite processions which hitherto were banned under the despotic regime of Saddam Hussein. Saddam clampdown on the Shiites after his disastrous loss to Iran in a border war. Thus , the once oppressed and suppressed Shiite majority of Iraq were now running the country in collaboration with the US occupation force and were now openly practicing their "haram" religion.
Al Zarqawi was just one of a growing bunch of young radicalized Sunni Arabs of Iraq who hated the Shiites more than even the US.
You must note that ISIS didn’t get so big because Muslims are angry about international politics and US foreign policy. It got huge because Sunni Muslims hate Shiite Muslims.
Al Qaeda in Iraq didn’t become popular because it killed American soldiers, but because it suicide bombed Iraqi Shiites. It really took off once there was a civil war underway between Syrian Shiites and Sunni Islamists.
Osama bin Laden wanted Al Qaeda in Iraq to focus on Americans, not Shiites. Zarqawi knew better. Al Qaeda’s base in Iraq was a Sunni population that hated their Shiite and Kurdish neighbors even more than they hated the American soldiers trying to keep the peace between them. By massacring Shiites, Al Qaeda in Iraq stopped being another franchise of a goofy Saudi rich kid making snuff videos for Qatar’s fake Al Jazeera news network and instead became the protectors of the Sunni minority.
The Sunni ideology is drawn on a suspicious hadith which claims that Arabs form the Quarish tribe are the only ones allowed to lead in Islam.
The Sunni movement is actual an Arab supremacists ideology.
to be contd.. need to pee very educative comment. Thumbs-up bro. |
